Class is interesting & easy if take good notes and study them. Way cool.
Her lectures are very interesting
Lectures are boring but the class is pretty easy
If you are a guy this class will bore you to death. But it's pretty easy.
Loved this class not just because it was supper easy, but because it was also very enlightening and interesting. I learned a ton and I now appreciate art and the humanities tons more. If you have to take any humanities take whatever you can from Lauri.
Great teacher. Makes Humanities a fun subject. She enjoys teaching, and you can tell that she wants you to get a good grade.
Awesome teacher! Definitely take from her!
Outstanding. She made me want to major in Humanities. She is by far my favorite professor. Honestly made me love the subject matter. Outstanding.
Makes you love the subject material and you really learn. The outside work is all related to what you are learning about. Her tests are somewhat hard but if you study and attend class you are fine.i went to Europe with her I loved it that much!
Great teacher she really enjoys the subject and helps her students enjoy it too. A bit of work but it is worth it
Laurie Haddock is the best teacher on the face of the planet!! Even if you don't like Humanities, take the class. She'll make you love it!!
Her class is amazing. She brings enthusiasm and excitement to class. I learned a ton of things.
Wonderful professor! was very good at reviewing things in class really wants you to do well.
This is one of the best ways to get an Arts/Letters GE. It's pretty hard, but well worth the effort. She is the coolest teacher- one of my favorites. Take it from her and you'll love it.
Prof. Haddock has an engaging teaching style and a clear, contagious love for the course material. You will attend multiple cultural events and write papers detailing your experiences, so be prepared.
The class itself, as far as the lectures go, it is really entertaining and she kept me entertained daily with her humor. The exams are insanely difficult, I would not recommend taking this class lightly in terms of academics.
Test didnt really have anything to do with lectures. But she is a really cool person...sometimes tends to favor some students, but overall, she knows her stuff
everyone is downplaying how hard she is.she has the humor of ellen degeneris, witty, but her tests are fill in the blank. she's merciless. take every opportunity for extra credit.she grades reports hard, must know obscure terms, dates, and people. my TA was a brat & didn't know anything at reviews
A GREAT teacher. but very difficult. I respect this teacher a lot, and would like to take another class from her. But id rather get a good grade in a mediocre class, then a bad grade in an excellent class. I'd audit, but not enroll.
I really enjoyed her classes, even though the tests had a lot of trivia questions on them. She's very personable and tries to develop good relationships with her students. I always appreciated her insight and enthusiasm. She'll get you addicted to beauty!
Good glass, i learned a lot, however she does tend to favor students, and the tests a horrible....just bad news
I hear she is an excellent Humanities teacher, but what ever you do, do not take a Student Development class with her. She attended class about half the time, and when she did, she fiddled with her overhead. Very nice lady, but the class was a waste of time
Terrible Teacher
Student Development is fun and interesting. She is a very nice person and excited about what she teaches. She kind of lets you work at your own pace and doesn't really give deadlines.
I love Sister Haddock. She is really funny and loves what she teaches. Her tests are pretty difficult, but she does a lot of reviewing and tells you everything that she's going to ask for ahead of time. So if you study, it's really not that bad.
Really nice lady, but she didn't show up for class a couple of times, and she never warned the class about it. It seemed like she was just there because she had to be, not because she wanted to teach. I have also heard that she is and awesome Humanities teacher, but don't take her for this class. I didn't learn much of anything in this class.
Prof Haddock is amazing. Super nice and a way good teacher. You can ask her any question. During her lectures she usually tells you exctly whats on the tests except for a few surprise ? she throws in. She offers extra credit and if you ask her she'll sometimes bumb back tests. Take her!
Tests hard, teaches well. Some questions on the test are impossible. You can get a good grade pretty easily though if you study.
sister haddock is a really nice teacher, but this class just plain sucked. you're treated like youre in high school, you go over dumb things like eating and sleeping habits and go at the slowest pace ever (the course material could be covered in a week). DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
awesome teacher but stupid class. i'd definitely take another class from her. she's very personable, kind, and realistic. she seems more like a regular teacher than a college professor which makes her easier to relate to.
This is a good class to take. I didn't think I would like it at all, but the way she teaches makes the material interesting and understandable. It's pretty easy--show up, take notes, and attend a couple of performances for the semester...but you really have to study for the tests. They have a lot of material, but it's manageable if you plan ahead.
Take this class if you need a nap. She is nice though.
SHE IS AMAZING, her lectures are so interesting and know what she is talking about. I love going to her class, it was my favorite this semester. It makes you want to travel the world and look at sculptures and paintings.
Sister Haddock is a great teacher, she makes the class interesting and fun. Be sure to study for the tests though-there's a lot of material involved.
The class was pointless and a lot of busy work. But as a teacher she was SUPER nice. She really knows how to teach, and how to make things intersting. I would totally take another class from her.
Sis. Haddock was an amazing teacher. I wasn't really interested in the humanities before I took her class, but after listening to her lectures I learned to love all types of art, and to appreciate it. She's funny and interesting. The tests did involve a lot of information. You have to study a lot before them!
Haddock is amazing!! She was the best part of the class. She came to fun parties and made you want to take every class she was taking. I recommend taking a class from her!!
I love Sister Haddock. Her passion for the arts is amazing. I love her tests because they're comprehensive--they make you know the info, not guess the right answer. She has a good vibe.
This teacher was amazing!!!!! I loved her!!!! Humanitites is now my major becuase of her. I also highly recommend the Europe trip she takes students on in the spring!!!!

i LOVE this teacher she is soooo good!!!!!!! my favorite! i sit in the front row everyday!!!
Great professor. She not only was super nice and helpful, but she helped me to gain an appreciation for the arts that I thought I could never have. This class takes some memorization skills, so if you cant memorize it could be tough. If you can though, this class is an easy A. Tests are all provide the term or matching.I recommend this class!
This is a memorization class. The lectures are great because it's really interesting stuff, but the drawback is that you have to memorize most of the information that she gives in class. For example, she'll give a powerpoint slide full of dates and tell you to memorize them for the test. Also, there are annoying papers. Other than that, fun class.
She is an excellent teacher, you will learn so much about the arts. She always includes really interesting background information. Her lectures are fascinating, I have never gotten bored. The class is not too difficult if you are good memorizing. She requires about 4 papers, but only 3 pages long each. I would highly recommend her!
This class is pretty easy, all you need to do is memorize what she tells you in the lecture, and you will do well on the tests. The book is not an essential part of the class, she might put a few questions from it on tests but the majority of the questions are from her lectures. Just attend class and you will get a decent grade.
Sister Haddock is a nice lady, and cares about her students, but her Student Development class for Freshman Academy was worthless. We did fluffy busy work, and then a big project at the end. Good teacher, bad class
I loved her class, she had hard tests, but I took the class when I was a freshman and now I'm a senior and I still remember a lot of the stuff I learned in her class. She helped me decide on a major. If you have an interest in art, take humanities 101 with her.
This class was really valuable and interesting. The expectations were realistic. The tests were hard, but with sufficient studying and memorization, they were managable. Lauri Haddock was a great professor and really helped her students gain a real appreciation for the material covered.
She is a really nice person and a good techer, but the class is a complete waste in my opnion, just a load of busy work :(
Student Development = worst class ever! Totally pointless. Way boring!
She is the greatest teacher I've had in a really long time! Her class is never boring and she keeps her students interested in what she's saying. You can tell she loves what she's teaching us, which makes her class even more worthwhile to attend.
Haddock is AMAZING! I had no interest in art before this class, but her passion really made me love it. She is super nice. A good amount of memorization, but take the time and you can get an A.
This class was quite a bit of busy work and memorizing dates for the tests. If the class was about how humanities applied to people it would be more interesting. Unfortunately, it's mostly just about memorization. Tests are 100 fill-in questions, not multiple choice. Don't take the class if you don't love humanities
She was a great professor, really cared about the class as a whole (we were all freshmen) and told us what we needed to know for the exams-all around a great experience! I will definitely be taking other Humanities courses from her!
Great Professor
Good teacher, easy to understand. Very funny.
I really didn't like this teacher. Compared to the other teachers you can get this class from, this is definitly the hardest. Some of the test questions were impossible. SHe was also very ambiguous on the writing assignments. She's never responded to the emails, and when I've tried to talk to her in person, she acted like I wasn't worth her time.
I absolutely loved this class! Haddock is a great teacher, tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests. There is NO busy work, just 3 performance reports that are way easy and a museum worksheet. Other than that there is no homework. There's a lot of memorization but just get started on it early and you'll be fine.Very interesting class
Kind of a worthless class that I took from her, but not difficult
This class was kinda interesting, but then sometimes it was pathetic(useless) what we had to learn. I hated the test, it is a fill in the blank memorization test.
She's a pretty fun professor, but she really doesn't know her stuff. My major is art history, so I already knew a lot of the material, and she was really wrong on a lot of it! Not a hard class, so if you're looking for an easy A, go ahead and take her section. The writing assignments are a bit ambiguous. She never responded to my emails.
I took this class as a freshman, and I really found it one of my favorite classes. Attendance is mandatory, but it's not hard to go because the material is interesting if you are interested in the arts, and the teacher keeps it fun. I am not the brightest student, and fell asleep alot in class. But with hard studying for the test you can get and A!
she put stuff on the test she said she would not, then marked us down for it. it was hard for us to know what she wanted us to know.
Where to begin...Hard to call her a "teacher". All you will do in class is talk about your feelings, and class has no relation whatsoever to the tests, other than the class given in. Also, tests are impossible. She teaches none of the test material. She tells you tests are matching, multiple choice, and fill in the blanks. Do not believe her.
A closet Visigoth.
Attendance not mandatory at all because test material has no relation to class discussion. She cares little to nothing about her students. All she cares about is her art. Very high-minded. Do not be fooled by the boring nature of the class. It's rough. Tests are about obscure facts inside the textbook, which she never mentions. Not a good teacher.
This teacher is a joke! Class is boring and mainly useless. She mainly just asks how you feel about this and pretends to listen and care. She doesn't care about her students and the only right answer is her answer. She doesn't care at all what you think and with art a lot is opinion. Her tests are a joke and she knows nothing about art history!
I love her! I find her lectures very interesting. And contrary to what everyone seems to think, she really did teach us the stuff that was on her test, I promise. You can look at my class notes if you want. There was one question that we hadn't covered, but when it was brought to her attention she promised to look at it, possibly throw it out.
This woman is confused about life...it's like she thinks she's your high school guidance counselor or something...how do you feel about that? Can you see the picture in the ink blot? Nice woman, mediocre teacher.
Sis. Haddock is an awesome lady. She's very funny. I think she knows her stuff about Humanities but she has a confusing way of presenting it. Hum 101 with Sis. Haddock is pretty much a vocab class, hundreds of terms to know. Her tests are all fill in the blank so you have to know all of the material. Hum is interesting but freakin hard with Haddock
Haddock is a nice woman, but not a great teacher. Her tests are ridiculous. She tests on material that is frankly irrelevant, things that serve no purpose to know later on in life. She is extremely anal about spelling. The chapters assigned are almost always never tested on. I would not recommend taking her classes.
Really nice lady, if you talk to her about anything she will be nice about it but won't take your feedback into consideration. Takes her art history out of made for tv movies, has really hard tests that contains no relevant information, assigns reading that is not required. Has her TA grade papers and the grading is extremely inconsistent. Don't re
One of the nicest ladies I've ever met. Hated her class. Makes her tests way harder than necessary. Class isn't that difficult, but tests are impossible. If you're good at memorizing random dates and names, this is a good class for you.
I can't believe that when comments are anonymous the vicious side in people comes out. I love Professor Haddock! Her class was tough but I appreciate that because I learned so many interesting facts in her class. I loved her class and love her as a teacher! Work hard and this class is great. Keep up the awesome work, we love you Sister Haddock!!
This is a class people either love or hate. Sis Haddock does care about her students, but her teaching style wasnt my favorite. Tests are fill-in-the-blank based off class notes, so I would attend lectures. I personally never used the text. Grading on papers was iffy;class was annoying since people constantly threw in their opinions. An okay class.
I loved this class, and I loved Sis. Haddock. She was way fun and I really liked it when she showed us movie clips and the days when we got to listen to music. Her tests were hard, but if you study you'll be fine. A good thing to do would be to review notes each day you get them to reiterate the information in your mind.
Professor Haddock's class is hard, but easy at the same time. Hard if you choose not to study, Easy if you're willing to put in the hours. If you choose to put in the hours of studying you'll learn tons. She's extremely nice and wiling to work with you whenever you need help.
Pros: If you memorize your thorough lecture notes, you essentially can't fail this class. There's no hard concepts and the class is interesting. Cons: The TA isn't the best, and you'll have to memorize some minute detail. Conclusion: Study EVERYTHING that she says, the music and the lectures, make your three essays straightforward = A/B grade
sister haddocks class is a great class. She is very nice and laid back. Tests are basically memorizing dates and facts. If you mermorize those facts you will get a good grade. you have to write papers and attend concerts and plays, which could add up to a lot of money. Take this class if you like memorizing facts!!
I love her. I learn so much in this class. & she's funny, too. & very laid back.
Loved the class. it is hard work but it is worth it.
there is no TA in the class!!!!!!!!!!!!
her class is ok. She makes it very intresting, but for tests they are basically memorizing millions of facts that you will forget the minute the test is over. Prepare to study very hard. Is it worth the work NO
to the person who rated her on 1/1/09 she had no TA
Take Haddock and be enlightened! She is a professor that has changed the way I view things- highly influential.
you will learn a lot in her class. she makes the information relevant and interesting. she has an awesome personality and you will love her class. the tests require a lot of memorization but flash cards the prior week always worked for me. just pay attention and take good notes
Mrs. Haddock was an awesome teacher. She made the information relevant and interesting and she was great at integrating the gospel. the tests are challenging but a good flash card session does the trick. I would take another class from her definitely
I really liked this professor, she was very clear with instruction and a very nice lady.
I really liked this professor, she was very clear with instruction and a very nice lady.I appreciate all her hard work
Just go to class, take good notes and study the notes a lot. The reading isn't always helpful, usually only one or two things from the readings are on the test that weren't in the lecture.
Haddock is an excellent teacher. This class easily became my favorite. She is sooo passionate about what she teaches & it's extremely contagious. Reading assignments are essential but very minimal. I felt tests were very unfair because they were free response and you never knew how specific she wanted the answers so they'd be wrong if mispelt, etc.
I loved this class. It was very interesting and Pro. Haddock made it fun. Tests are challenging but just pay attention and get study partners and you will be just fine.
Okay I hate humanities. There is a lot of information you must know for the tests (which are not multiple choice). And a lot of it is small random facts. All that being said, Professor Haddock is the most loving professor I have ever had I have never had a professor more willing to work with students and had such a strong desire for them to succeed
Basically the tests are super and unreasonably hard. She makes you know extremely minute details about everything. They are all fill in the blank, and she makes this GE way harder than it has to be. She thinks that everyone is as interested in her subject as she is. It's a ridiculous class. Don't take it. Take Music 101 to fulfill the GE.
I actually enjoyed going to the class because lectures were cool. But the tests are ridiculous, she expects you to know everything in the text book and everything she said in class and none of it is multiple choice. Plus, no curve. Maybe if I had this and one other class I could study enough to get an A
Although lectures were actually very interesting and often fun to attend, her tests and her way of grading is ridiculous. She is incredibly inconsistent with grading papers and has no idea what she wants. Her tests require you to remember everything ever said in the class. All short answer and no curve. I learned a lot, but my grade said otherwise.
Love Sister Haddock! This class was really fun to go to. I don't know why people are complaining about the tests, I had 2 roommates in the class with me and all 3 of us were able to get A's on them. As long as you memorize the information Sis. Haddock gives in class, and read the assigned chapters, the tests are really easy to do well on (:
She was very specific on her exams. Need to memorize a lot for her tests. Papers were fun though it nearly broke my bank paying to see the shows for them.
I loved Dr. Haddock her lectures were interesting. Don't miss class though as she tests from the lecture, and reading the textbook is important as well. Be mindful of specific details because she like to put random questions on the test. Kind of spendy on having to certain performances, but well worth it.
She is the greatest! She is hilarious, she is very clear on what she wants you to know. Her TAs hold great reviews, and if she wants you to know something for the test, believe me, it's clear. The papers are not hard to write and I thoroughly enjoyed her class.
Great person, won't take her again. Her class is expensive...She has you buy the textbook online and you go to a few performances which add up. She loves what she teaches and knows a lot, but it's hard to expect what will be on her tests. I had a good TA so papers were easy. I suggest taking a ton of notes in class and using flashcards to study.
Not bad. Good overview of the humanities. Worst part was the textbook - ultra confusing, and super expensive. 3 mandatory performance attendance/reaction papers. 3 exams, comprehensive portion of the final is cake. She's been teaching forever and repeats herself sometimes. But has a good sense of humor. Take good notes-her slides are NOT online.
Professor Haddock is awesome. She's such a cool lady with a lot of passion for the humanities. She helped me to get interested in it and was way entertaining. She made it really clear when something was going to be on the test. That didn't make the tests easy, though. They're pretty rough. Take lots of notes!
Tough class. Took 201 and 202 at the same time. Had a 99% in 201 and a 64% in this class. The tests q's are free response. Essays are highly detail oriented. If you don't write every single item from her slides, you will get slammed. Had to read a 450pg book over Thanksgiving break and write a separate research paper.
This class was great! It was my easiest class of the semester. Attendance is so important, because the lectures are all oral, and nothing is online. Prof Haddock is willing to stay after to answer questions and help students. Four writing assignments, which were a little tough, but the midterms and final weren't that bad.
She is my favorite professor on campus! If you get the opportunity to have her as a teacher, take it. Her lectures are entertaining and informative, she shows up movies in class all the time, and she has a great sense of humor. A+++++
I took 101, 201, and 202 from Haddock. Lots of people hated this class b/c showing up, taking good notes, and studying is required. But she makes the material interesting & entertaining and I will probably never forget the stuff I learned in her classes. She is hands down my favorite professor I had during my BYU career.
Haddock is nice and enthusiastic, but I was not impressed with the class. The test material is all off of lectures, so I would record the lecture and relisten to them making notecards for every tiny detail she gave. There are no study guides for the test and the TA review is useless, so we were left with no idea what knit picky detail would show up
Sister Haddock has a great sense of humor and the class content is very interesting (if you like humanities, I guess). I had a difficult time because I'm not really good at this type of class, but it is very possible to get an A.
Prof. Haddock is very kind, but her class was all over the place. I wouldn't take it from her. Her tests aren't multiple choice and spelling counts. She'll ask the most obscure questions and you don't get a review sheet before any quizzes. There are def easier humanities teachers out there.
I was not looking forward to taking Hum. 101, but Sister Haddock made me LOVE it and I am taking 201 from her as well. She is so helpful and kind to her students and she is hilarious. My view of Humanities was totally changed by this class. The tests are difficult, but mostly memorization so if you study hard you will get A's! Best professor ever!
I absolutely LOVE professor Haddock! She is one of my favorite professors at BYU! She makes class interesting and fun and I learned so much! Her tests are difficult but if you put in the work and know the material you will be fine. She is very enthusiastic and passionate and cares a lot about her students. I'd take another class from her any day!
Professor Haddock is seriously incredible. Hands down the best teacher I have EVER had! She is the entire reason I changed my major to Humanities. She does a wonderful job bringing the curriculum to life and incorporating the spirit. The tests are specific, but she is very clear about what you need to know so they are not too hard!
Sister Haddock is the best! I've taken Ihum 101 and 201 from her, and plan on taking 202 from her. She is passionate about what she teaches and she really cares about her students. All the material is straight forward, not difficult, and she teaches in a way so we have to apply ourselves. I really enjoy her class and highly recommend it!
I took this class in my first semester. Even though there was a lot of work and memorization, it was the class that I 100% enjoyed. If you have to take IHUM 101, definitely take it from Professor Haddock.
Professor Haddock is simply the coolest professor I ever had at BYU. Loved her class. She is the reason I took Humanity as a minor. There was a lot of memorization of course. But as long as you take good notes and study them hard, it's easy to get good grade. Strongly recommand!
Sis H is absolutely incredible. She connects with the students and really shows that she cares about them all. She is hilarious and super easy to listen to. There is definitely effort required, but the class is so worth the effort. She makes even the most blah things interesting and brings incredible insights to her lessons. Prof Haddock is an A++
She is just absolutely awesome!!!!!! I love going to her class! She is hilarious, and the lectures are always interesting. You can tell that she truly cares about what she is teaching. As long as you go to class and take good notes you will get an A. She is so wonderful. Every teacher should be like Professor Haddock. Really. take a class from her!
Sister Haddock is my favorite teacher! She teaches in a way that really raises your level of thinking. She has the best interest in mind for her students. The lectures are always engaging and she is very funny. She does a great job of bringing the Spirit into her lectures while teaching on any topic. If you can take humanities from her do it.
Professor Haddock is the greatest teacher ever! I wish that she could teach all of my classes. Her lectures are entertaining, she loves what she teaches, very knowledgeable, and wants her students to do well in class, and in life. Her class is one I look forward to going too. If you have the chance to take her class put on your nikes and just do it
Sister Haddock is one of my FAVORITE professors!! She worries about your grade and will go out of her way to help you, all u have to do is ask. Tests, are more lecture based than reading. As long as you do what she asks you to do you will be fine. Class is always fun to go to, your comments are important to her. I highly recommend her. :)
AMAZING profesor! I've taken both HUM classes from her and I love it! I am a science major, so I always dreaded the arts requirements, but she made even me love the subject. She is such a great lecturer and so willing to help. I honestly loved going to her class- I looked forward to it!
I love Sister Haddock! I took both her 101 and 202 IHum classes. She brings humanities and the history behind it to life. She is willing to work with you. She let me turn in a research paper really late full credit. She's great! Her lectures are my favorite! Take good notes on her lectures because her tests are based almost entirely on lecture.
Sister Haddock is the best Humanities teacher out there. I'm not necessarily a fan of artsy stuff (I took this as a GE), but Sister Haddock made me love this class. She makes it really easy to get an A as long as you put in an honest effort. I definitely recommend taking her class!!
This is the second class I've taken from Prof. Haddock. It's the class I look forward to the most because she he a unique ability to make learning interesting. She's passionate about the subject. When I heard she was teaching Book of Mormon as well I knew she was the one I wanted to take it from. She knows and loves the Book of Mormon.
Great Professor and great class. Test are hard, a few quiz's and two papers to write. So over all not bad. She is always willing to help you out with anything and cares about her students.
I LOVED this class. The class is mainly memorization, so if you take decent notes and study them even 10 minutes a day, you'll easily ace every test. Lectures were always interesting, and Prof. Haddock would often add a nice gospel flavor to it. Highly recommend her class.
Lauri cares about her students more than any other teacher. That being said, her class is ridiculous. No study guide, the ta wont hold reviews and always shows up to class in short shorts with no shoes on. The questions on the test are very obscure, and she makes sure you come to class by not posting a single thing from the course. Memorize all!
Absolutely terrible. her class should be a grammar course because clearly that is more important than the concepts. SUCKS don't take her.
Teacher is very nice and makes it seem like the class is very easy. Then you get to the test where she asks the most random and obscure bits of knowledge that she just mentioned in lecture for less than 5 sec one day in class. Do not take this class from her if you are looking for an easy general.
I was quickly bored and questioned why I had to buy the book. Reading isn't critical as necessary info is given in lecture and labs. Labs are required and missing two or more crushes your grade. Midterms are long and require precise knowledge that you aren't told about beforehand. Avoid this class. Also, slides aren't given. Good luck with that
This class is great if you enjoy learning about things like art, music, drama and dance. I'm not great at art but I've always had an interest in it, so it was awesome. People make it sound hard, but it's fine if you are good at memorization and spelling. Sister Haddock tells us exactly what is on the test, so do what she says and you will be FINE.
Lauri Haddock is the real Dolores Umbridge. The class material is wonderful however.
Only take this class if you are REALLY good at memorizing. Interesting class, but not worth the trouble.
The 202 class was great. I took it in Summer of 2013. There was a lot of memorizing but it's manageable. She's very open to help, as long as you make an effort you can do well. She didn't take attendance but you have to go to get the material. She's open to questions and I went to visit her in her office and other classes because she's great.
Terrible, Terrible exams. We didn't go over half the content that was tested on. Not worth receiving a poor grade unless you don't care about grades, then it is an interesting class. Interesting class, terrible exams. No multiple choice or true or false questions
Proffesor Haddock is one of my all time favorite professors at Brigham Young University. She was fair and was willing to listen to her students. The way she presented the material was interesting and engaging. I found this class to be the highlight of my semester. She is the only teacher I have ever specifically recommended to a fellow classmate.
Sis Haddock is a phenomenal teacher. She teaches you how to learn and gives you the tools to grow as a student, not just in her class. I've taken three GE's from her now and its because her class has made me a better student. Her classes are not "show up" A's, work is required, but its college, put in time to learn the material and you'll get an A.
Two five-page papers without much background throughout the semester. For a GE, I learned a lot. She keeps things interesting.
Professor Haddock was the best teacher I have ever had at BYU. I am a science major and I normally do not likerelate to artsy subjects like humanities or the people that teach them. However, Professor Haddock is easy-going, kind, and hilarious. Her lectures are SUPER interesting, paying attention was easy! She does go fast, so take TONS of notes
Professor Haddock was so amazing at teaching a not so exciting GE course! She brought the gospel into the class that you wouldn't expect for Humanities. Her lectures are fast and notes are essential to passing the tests. The readings outside of class are long and theres 2, 5 page papers. But she is hilarious and keeps class interesting.
Professor Haddock is awesome! The lectures are super entertaining and as long as you go to class and take notes and go through the terms to know in the text book, it's easy to pass. I loved this class so much that I'm taking another class from Haddock next semester.
I would definitely take this class again. Professor Haddock was so entertaining. I loved attending class. Lots of memorization, but I just remembered a lot of it from lecture because it was so memorable!
Professor Haddock is a great teacher! You can tell that she loves teaching and loves humanities because she teaches passionately and is always very excited and energetic. She is very kind and understanding as well. The class entails lots of information and two papers that you need to stay on top of to do well.
I'm not usually into Humanities, but this class made me love learning about art and cultural history! The class wasn't too difficult, but there aren't too many assignments so make sure you do the readings for quizzes and papers. Sister Haddock is an entertaining and informative teacher lecturer and is very willing to work with you.
Reading assignments from the Book of Mormon Every Day, and you have to write a 1/2 page report on what was significant to you. It's super easy, and makes up most of your grade. There are 3 tests and 3 papers. Everything is pretty much completion, and the tests are a piece of cake if you pay attention and read. Sister Haddock is amazing!!!
I loved Professor Haddock! Her class was so fun, and her lectures were very interesting. You HAVE to go to class, but it's worth it! Definitely would recommend.
Greatest teacher ever!! I LOVED her class and the work load was very reasonable. If you can memorize well, you will do well in the class. I LOVE Sister Haddock!!
LOVED this class and loved the professor. I didn't even buy the textbook. If you can memorize, you'll be set. There are two five page papers and a handful of reading quizzes but not to bad. Great TA and the tests are easy if you pay attention, memorize, memorize and go to the reviews. She is INCREDIBLY gifted and helpful. Take her class, I LOVE her
Dr. Haddock has a way of helping her students see the good in themselves and the world around them. She is an amazing lecturer and is very willing to help and goes the extra mile to help students. She is amazing!!
Professor Haddock is perfect for a Book of Mormon class. You still learn a lot without overwhelming homework. The reading reflections are a 1/2 pg about what you learned, and the 2 tests are definitely manageable.
Sister Haddock is such a nice person but I wouldn't take her as a religion professor again. Almost everything is graded for completion (that's what saved my grade) but the midterm and final are ridiculous. She has a study guide for them but that only covers about half the content. The rest are completely unnecessary facts... I bombed both tests.
Professor Haddock is a wonderful lady but I bombed the tests with hours of studying. You have to use the textbook and the entire class is memorization. Not an easy A.
The good? No quizzes, Pro. Haddock cares deeply about her students as well as humanities, and an "A" is 93%. The bad? Must write three 3 page papers and preparing for tests is a nightmare (always some super obscure stuff from the text book on the tests). That being said, this was an interesting class and I've done well for a bio major.
Lauri Haddock is one of the best professors I have ever had. Her lectures are fun and engaging and she knows her stuff! I came to love the course content because of her clear, exciting way of teaching. She is an excellent story teller and makes history interesting.
Overall a good class where I learned a lot, but lots of reading. Very straightforward for assignments and tests.
She's really funny and makes the subject matter interesting, she's a great lecturer who really cares. But her tests are IMPOSSIBLE. I studied like crazy way in advance for all her test and still didn't do well. The only other assignments are quizzes which are similarly insane. The final is a group project which was just the worst.
I absolutely loved her class! Her lectures were amazing, and she had a very clear grading criteria.
Overall a good class, though did tend to get boring at times. She obviously really knows the Book of Mormon and cares deeply for it and she expresses that in her lectures. The midterm and final were both online and were very easy. Other than that you're only graded on daily reading.
Professor Haddock is an awesome teacher! You only have to write a couple simple and very-easily graded papers and read some chapters before class and write what you liked about them. She is understanding, willing to work with you, and really cares about her students. Highly recommend!
Sister Haddock is such a great professor! She's much easier than most of the religion professors here and makes it easy to get a good grade if you do your work. Her lectures are very inspirational.
If you ignore the fact that she's a genocide denier, great professor! Good lectures, not much work other than a paragraph on the reading once a week. Easy tests straight off the study guide.
Lauri is AMAZING! She really made the Book of Mormon come to life. The class was very spiritual and didn't focus on factual details! I was worried about taking a religion class at BYU, but her class is EASY and life changing! Her test was difficult compared to the very light workload in the class, but other than that TAKE FROM LAURI!!!
She is amazing. This class takes a moderate amount of work, 2 5 page papers, 3 exams and a final group project, plus a few quizzes. But she is so amazingly willing to work with you. She even let me retake an exam!!! And, even if she hadn't have, I would still retake her. She makes humanities come alive, even for a Nursing major like me. I loved her
She's an ok teacher. Some of her lessons are very boring. She doesn't teach the Book of Mormon in great depth. Basically a Sunday School level education of The Book of Mormon. She is a great grader! She gives people 100% as long as they try. Her study guides make her 2 tests extremely easy.
I loved class with Sister Haddock. She is an amazing teacher, I had her for Book of Mormon part one as well and I just loved it.
Honestly this was my least favorite class I've taken at BYU and I don't think I'm being harsh in that. Her tests test the most obscure things and don't even follow her study guides very well. Her class is okay besides the tests (still WAY too many assignments, quizzes, discussion posts, etc though but not hard) She's a nice person though I guess
I don't like world history, but I loved this class! Prof Haddock does a great job at showing how interesting history is & changed my mindset of it. Her tests are very fair. You need to go to class though because she doesn't post her slides. Class was kind of hard for me, but not most. Definitely take this for your Civ 2 GE, from her if possible!
Wonderful teacher! I took two classes from her. If you can memorize, you will do well. She lectures very clearly and the tests are very straightforward but they writing the answers out, not multiple choice. Her papers and tests are not hard and if you talk to her about a bad grade, she is REALLY good to help you to do better. Take her classes!!
Be prepared to memorize a lot but her class is SOO good. You just have 3 tests and two papers. She is clear on what is expected and she lectures clearly. She is very inspirational and I loved her class. Take her classes, she is the best!!
She is amazing.. connects everything back to God and tells the stories with passion. Super caring, funny, and engaging. Would take this class again.
Professor Haddock is a good professor, honestly this class is pretty easy and doesn't require a whole lot of effort. It doesn't really matter who you take this class from, as long as you can memorize things before tests. If you actually really want to learn about art and stuff then her lectures are great. I tend to fall asleep, but I'm a heathen.
Her quizzes don't test on concepts, just random adjectives out of random sentences from long readings. I read them 3+ times and usually got 7/10 on quizzes. Her lectures are not necessary for the class and usually end up being her talking about her vacations to Europe. I was excited to learn about humanities but am disappointed with the content.
She is awesome but her tests weren't always based entirely off the study guides she gave. You will get an A as long as you actually do the work. She is super nice and you can tell she loves the subject and cares that all students understand it. You have to go to multiple things outside of class but they are pretty cool to attend.
Great teacher! Super passionate about what she teaches. Her class isn't hard, easy to get an A. Three four-page essays (based off of live performances, so it isn't hard), but TAs are really easy on the grading for them. Super fun class, easy, and not a lot of homework. Study guides given for tests, so as long as you go over that you'll do fine.
I loved her sooo much. The class was interesting and she made her lectures engaging and fun. 10/10 would take again.
Professor Haddock is great! I will definitely be taking a class with her again. It seems like the work is relevant to the course (not much busy work) but some of the videos can be long. She cares about her students and loves the topic. You will leave this class with a new perspective on humanities!
3 days before finals, the gradebook was completely restructured. Assignment groups were no longer weighted, and two assignments that had been dropped all semester were no longer dropped. My grade changed completely. Tests aren't over concepts but very small details from readings. Pro Haddock is incredibly kind, but I would not recommend her class
I loved this class; it made me feel like an educated person. Professor Haddock is passionate about the Humanities and her lectures are interesting, if not always important to the material on the tests. If you study throughout the semester, you'll do fine on the tests. The material you will be tested on is clear.
professor Haddock is a really nice lady and she really cares about humanities, but her tests are way too specific. She completely changed the grading scale 3 days before the final and if you skip labs your grade goes way down. take an easier class to fulfill this GE
This is my second class with Lauri because I enjoy learning from her! She's a great teacher, understanding, very reasonable, and loves what she does. The class has several quizzes every week, 7 one page papers on literature, lots of discussion boards, and a couple of tests. Great class to fill a couple generals!
Here's the thing. She's a great lady, but when I took IHUM her class was NOT organized well, assignment due dates and test weights fluctuated immensely, making it very hard to know what was required for an A. Less than 20% of my class ended up with an A. Test are crazy specific, and assignments are graded on TA discretion.
GREAT lecturer. Funny and engaging. Take notes (she doesn't post slides). Mostly graded by two 8-page papers and three online (closed book/notes) multiple-choice exams. There are also quizzes (not pop quizzes) on NON-textbook readings. Textbook readings are long and dense; the exams are 75% from lecture and 25% from the textbook reading.
I took IHUM 101 online from Professor Haddock. The class has quizzes due after every lesson, and either a short writing or a discussion board. The tests took forever to study for. A study guide is provided, but aren't super helpful. Overall a great and easy class, though that I would recommend.
Unsympathetic, expects you to study everything she says even once, study guides don't contain all text info, TAs uninformed on texts and assignments, thus review sessions aren't indicative of exam content. Each class feels like it was put together the day before, feels like an online class, lecture teaches little.
Does not cover test material well. You can attend all the lectures and read the assigned reading and still you get to the test and feel unprepared.
A few papers throughout the semester. TA's are the real teachers in this class. Haddock's tests are too specific and she doesn't give information needed in class or anywhere else to do well on tests. Her lectures are funny and interesting but totally useless. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
It's so damn bland but it's easy. For sure do this online. The first few lessons are interesting, but when it gets into music, dance, and theatre, the class gets super dry and the tests get extremely trivial. I was borderline A / A- with with spending 45 minutes / week (except for the two essay weeks) including reading and quizzes.
Professor Paxman is such a nice person who clearly cares about us. She makes assignments easy and I swear she extended the test deadline on every test we took. Homework was like once a week but it was 2 paragraphs tops and some reading. If you study for the 4 tests throughout the year, you will get an A.
She doesn't go over nearly everything that appears on the tests. I only got an A because I taught myself everything. The lectures feel very unprepared and she often just goes through the preprepared lessons that are already on canvas. On the last day of class before the final we watched a snowman movie instead of reviewing. Class is a waste of time
Awesome online class. Read, take open quizzes on it, then 50 question test. I read and wrote down questions and then just crammed the questions right before the test. And not cumulative! She really knows how to communicate out to students what she wants and I actually really learned some humanities things.
She was a fine teacher but did not prepare you for the exams. Expected you to remember everything she said and basically memorize the book (there were exam questions about obscure quotes from the text). The homework and essays were fairly easy, but the exams were killer.
Lauri was amazing and has personal experience and knowledge on each section we covered. Slides are posted, though they just guide her class conversations. Use the "Need to Know" for each section on Learning Suite. This class was enjoyable. You will need to study for the exams, do the readings and actively participate in class and you will be fine.
Professor Haddock is amazing. She's very knowledgable about the material and keeps it interesting. As long as you engage with the lectures and take notes you'll do well on the tests. There are a lot of readings but it's generally a very straightforward class. Prof Haddock is amazing & I'd def take her class again!!
Take this class from her!! There's 5 papers (but not that difficult), about 6 or 7 in-class quizzes, 3 exams (final not comprehensive) on Learning Suite. Her "textbook" is different websites about people/time periods. The tests are multiple choice and very doable. She makes the lectures interesting and has a lot of knowledge on what she teaches!
I took this class having read the other reviews and thought that this would be a decent class- I soon discovered how mistaken I was. She grades your assignments tougher than any English teacher that I've ever taken and the tests include questions that are derived from random facts found in countless assigned readings. The workload is overbearing.
I loved her so much! Her lectures are so interesting and I learned so much in this class! Professor Haddock made me want to study and be excited about the material we were learning about. I would definitely take another class from her again! She made sure we understood what we were learning about and had amazing stories to tell, as well.
I am a STEM major and so humanities was not something I thought I would enjoy, however, Professor Haddock's class was enjoyable and very manageable. I would definitely take another class from her!
I loved Lauri!! She was a great professor, I loved her lectures and she was super sweet! My only caution would be dont take this class during summer, its a ton of work pretty much all the time, but she does help you out and shes awesome!
Prof. Haddock is the BEST! Yes this class is hard, but the curriclm is set by the chair depart not her. keep that in mind when you get hit with all the work. This is a GE course. You learn a ton. You read great things learn art history. Her lecture videos are wonderful. Shes accessible caring w/top TAs who really help you. She listens to feedback.
No structure. No Lectures. read the book and take an asinine test. awful class.
Alright, so Prof Haddock might not be too bad, but the online on demand remote delivery version of this class is hell. I was doing it during summer term and it was worse than the anatomy that I did in spring. Plan to spend at least 20 hours/week on it if you actually read anything. I've done 3 years at BYU and this is the first class I've dropped.
Do not take the online version of this class. Get ready to do hours upon hours of work if you do.
Prof. Haddock is seriously the best professor ever. Her passion for humanities is palpable and her lectures are fun & engaging. She's hilarious & cares deeply for both the subject matter & her students. Just do the reading (which is very light and highly engaging), go over the provided study guides, keep up on your assignments and you'll be good :)
Genuinely loved Professor Haddock and enjoyed this class. Tests are proctored and pretty difficult, several papers and weekly short essays. Lecture attendance isn't mandatory but TA labs on Fridays are. I enjoy learning about the arts, but I can imagine this class being less liked for someone who doesn't.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Haddock is the worst person ever at BYU she assigns so much reading and never responds to emails she has no compassion and she is super strict about her assignments for a GE class
Professor Haddock is a funny and loving person however the class was rough. tests were hard and so random that it was almost impossible to get an A on them. weighting scale is what saved my grade. if you put in effort for essays they will boost your grade because they are weighted the same as tests. do the extra credit and essays + you'll be fine.
Not a great class. I just needed it for my arts GE and I'm so glad it's over. The tests were tough. Three three page papers on the MOA, a ballet and an opera, weekly short essays, those were a breeze though. Five exams I think. Mandatory Friday labs. I didn't enjoy the class but I got an A without slaving away too much.
Textbook is your lifeline. Dr. Haddock is SO funny and interesting, and I absolutely fell in love with this class the first month or so, when she would enthrall us with Renaissance artists, etc. But her lectures quickly became useless, and she didn't expound like she had before. Still a good professor, but be ready to do lots on your own.
I took this class for a GE and it was too much work for my preference. She is a kind teacher but TA's do all the work. The workload mainly consists of reading, and the tests can be really random sometimes. The class gets a lot more fun nearing the end of the semester. Overall, not a terrible class. Look up Quizlets to help prepare for exams! :)
Prof. Haddock was so awesome. She was super nice and reasonable. The final was not comprehensive, which was so great. Her lectures were super interesting. Like all classes at BYU, the class was hard. But no surprise. But if you study you will be fine. I ended with an A. Take the class from her for sure.
This class is ridiculously detailed and the tests are incredibly anal and require you to remember tiny details from numerous sources. You will hear from the professor maybe twice in the semester and the rest of it is the TA's or the textbook teaching you the class.
For a general class, you do an absurd amount of reading and writing in this class. You have to write 3, 3-page papers on very dense and hard-to-understand readings of at least 50 pages. You are also not given any rubric or any real guidance as to what you're graded on. It is classes like this that give general courses a bad reputation.
This course was online. You will have assignments due every Saturday. 1-2 Quizzes a week that include 15ish questions with an essay question at the end. You will have 3 papers on readings. You will have 2 midterms and 1 final all online proctored with Examity. Its a good course and a great professor but a little tough.
I love Professor Haddock! She is a great lady who really does care about her students. If you want to take an interesting class and have it not be that hard, take IHUM 101 from her! She really helps prepare you for the tests and make her lectures interesting!! Great lady!!
I took this as an online class, which I think was a good call because there is SOOOO much information to memorize, and none of the tests or quizzes or assignments are due until Saturday night every week. I think that the class had great structure to it and if you don't mind a lot of reading/if you find the material interesting, it's a great class!
I loved this professor, but the thing I hated about this class was my TA. There were two lectures every week and one lab with the TA. I happened to get a terrible TA which made this class way worse than it would've been.
Great professor! I learned so much from the lectures in this class!!! The TA is what makes it difficult because some grade harder than others. I definitely recommend professor haddock!
I absolutely hated this class despite liking the subject of Humanities. Her lectures aren't worth going to because she just talks about the most useless stuff. Her test contains random facts from the textbook that weren't emphasized at all. Her Canvas is also not organized at all and hard to navigate. DON'T TAKE HER CLASSES!
I love humanities, but I was really disappointed by this class. Prof. Haddock's lectures were mostly useless, and her Canvas was a mess which made it really hard to stay on top of things. One of the most disorganized classes I've ever taken. Tests were hard and extremely specific. She seemed like a fun person, but her class was a huge pain.
IF YOU ADD THE CLASS LATE the first paper is due the second week of classes, right after the add/drop deadline. Was able to get it done but took a lot to catch up on two weeks of material and an essay! Prof Haddock is pretty uninvolved and the TA's grade everything. The course had a lot of reading/memorization. Tough second midterm bc of that.
Professor is super sweet, class is SUPER hard. I took it as an art GE credit and it was my hardest and most time-consuming class. My TA graded papers hard and the tests covered lots of information. We only had 4 exams meaning everything you learned all semester was compacted into only 4 tests. Lectures were pointless. Readings were necessary.
Lauri Haddock made Humanities so cool and interesting. I loved hearing her perspectives, and she even had lots of pictures that she had taken in the Visual Arts unit. Tests are somewhat tricky, but a study guide is provided, and your grade isn't weighted.
I took this class online, I've heard that it's a lot different in person. I really appreciated how the course was laid out in a very organized way. The tests are difficult, but there are opportunities to get your grade up. There were reading quizzes, tests, 3 short papers, and a few participation assignments that were easy points.
Tests were very specific and had things like who said a quote or fill in the blank for a quote on it. However, otherwise the class was awesome. Lots of reading homework, lectures were pretty good and my TA was great and would give good feedback on papers/didn't grade too hard. Study guides for tests but basically just study literally everything.
Prof Haddock is really kind and you can tell she cares about her students but her tests are SO HARD! Shes a really anecdotal lecturer which keeps class fun but she never tests on the stories she tells so even after a TA review I felt very lost. Would recommend as a professor but needs to rewrite the tests to cover what you actually learn in class
Great, fun lectures, she's very personable and you can tell she cares. She works with you very well and made a GE class interesting. Tests are fine IF you take good notes & study well for them. She dropped assignments/pushed due dates back a few times which was really nice. Would def take another class form her!
Lots of papers that you have to write and lots of reading are required for the class. Exams consist of essays and multiple choice. You better hope you have a good memory to memorize all of the little things about the humanities.
I never really interacted with Professor Haddock herself, but the IHUM 202 on-demand class is great! It's nice to take it at your own pace. There are lots of readings, 3 tests, and 3 papers, but the content is engaging and easy to follow. I wouldn't take humanities any other way!
I took 201 online and 202 in person and enjoyed being in person with Professor Haddock so much more. She's really funny and knows her stuff. She keeps the lectures entertaining and wants it to be an enjoyable experience for her students. There's a few fun assignments, essays and the exams aren't easy but definitely doable.
Professor Haddock is very nice and personable. I learned a lot in her class. The one criticism I have is that often the subject matter of the tests and lectures didn't quite match up, but other than that this is a pretty easy class and professor I would recommend.
It sounds like she is a fantastic professor in person, but Professor Haddock really fumbled this online class. She is unreachable by email, assigns readings that are never discussed further, and never provides information beyond the textbook -- no additional lectures or context, just reading from the textbook and taking quizzes on specific details
Professor Haddock is a wonderful person and lecturer. However, her exams are extremely difficult because it covers so much information-you never really know what to study. You do a lot of reading and write tons of papers. Also, you have to attend performances throughout the semester that you pay for.
She was okay. Her class was easy but then the exams were brutal out of nowhere. My TA was horrible and took an average of two months to grade a 1 paragraph mini essay. Friday labs are mandatory.
I took IHUM 201 as an online class. I'm honestly not even sure how to rate the professor since she was completely hands off the entirety of the class. The whole thing was run by the TA's and they seemed semi-clueless and weren't very helpful. The tests focused on memorization that was barely covered in the class. Good luck, you're on your own.
Honestly, the Professor was terrific; however, her TA's really screwed everyone over. Easy class overall. However, tests were unnecessarily hard and allowed for rarely any room to improve. Would take it again, but beware, it's difficult to receive an A in this class. It is harder than my Humanities 201 class.
I had an extremely negative experience with this professor
I had little-to-no interaction with her during the online course, so a lot of your experience will be dictated by the TA's. Most of the course is pretty fun and easy. The tests are the trickiest part. It can be difficult to predict what will be on the tests, even if you go to the TA review. Overall it's a really interesting subject though!
She is a great professor and she really cared about the students. I would take her again. I took her for IHUM 201 and IHUM 202 and loved both
Prof. Haddock's class is tough, but engaging if you put in the work. Lectures are hit-or-miss, but the reading is essential. Tests can be brutal, so use unstuckstudy ai and attend study sessions to stay on top of the material. Overall, a challenging but rewarding course.
Ok so she is amazing. Her class is not. If you are a freshman dont take it. It can be overwhelming. SO MUCH READING. She doesnt teach you, you have to teach yourself with the book. Put in the work and you will get an A. It is just way harder than a GE class should be. 4 2-page papers. Have to spend your own money to go to BYU performances.
Absolutely horrible class. Lectures are useless. Online textbook and so many readings. Study guides are so long and don't even help much on test. Random questions. Third exam on music is worst test I've taken in my entire life. NOTE: I study a lot and get good grades, I try very hard, and this class SUCKED. Please take it from a different professor
DO NOT TAKE HER. The tests asked us to finish quotes from the textbook, which wasn't covered in class. The TA said only 5% of the test came from lectures, the rest from random textbook and module content. We also had to attend $40 worth of performances, including an opera, MOA, Men's Choir, and a play. Homework was excessive.
I really liked her lectures, she's really passionate about what she is teaching. She is very kind and funny. I totally recommend her! For every test, we could just film a video, super easy!
Dr. Haddock was great. I took her for IHUM 101 which I thought was going to be memorizing needless dates and places of historical arts. I was pleasantly surprised that it was more of an art literacy 101 class. Her lectures are fun and engaging, her attitude makes you want to learn more about art. Make sure to do the readings and you'll be chilling.
She is a phenomenal teacher. I had a hard time in the class in the beginning because it was my first semester at college. She was very helpful, and going to her office hours was an extremely good experience. Wonderful person. Make sure you go to all the lectures and do all the homework; there can be a lot to take in, but she makes it interesting.
Professor Haddock was fun overall, however the class had 6 tests in total (proctorio) and a short essay every week or so, along with 3 long essays. The TA's didn't grade anything until the very end so you never really knew what to work on. Grading criteria not clear.
Professor Haddock was actually super awesome. She is a really good storyteller and makes the lectures pretty interesting. Lectures aren't mandatory, but the TAs take attendance in labs once a week. Lots of exams, but they're not too bad. You do need to go see live BYU performances and write about them, but other than that, the class isn't hard.
Professor Haddock was passionate about the class. The outside readings were organized; she put direct quotes from the textbook on the test, so I highly recommend reading it. Most of class time was spent looking at examples of art, not the material you need for the tests. Tests weren't difficult but required studying the textbook & study guide.
Impossible. She does not pair down the study guide at all, so you have NO guidance on what will actually by on exams. You can study for 2 weeks and it won't matter. DO NOT take from her. She managed to ruin very interesting material. Spend hours reading textbooks and canvas pages. Basically have to memorize massive passages of literature for tests.
Just busy work. But if you want an easy A, this is the class. You can get away with not doing the reading since its online but there are still a lot of dumb assignments. 2 weekly quizzes, weekly discussion boards, 2 midterms, 4 small papers, 1 final. You can get away with doing the bare minimum and still get an A but it is time consuming.
definitely take this class from her, such an easy A. at the end of the unit, you have the option to make a video on what you learned instead of taking a test which i liked a lot better. she is so kind as well. her ta is a bit of a harsh grader tho
The Professor was great, however, I thought her TAs graded harshly.
She takes her job teaching waste of time classes more seriously than professors who provide useful education. So many assignments, so many tests, so much reading. I have watched 5 minute youtube videos that had greater impacts on my education than her entire course. Total joke.
Lauri Haddock is the type of professor who puts nitpicky deceptive questions on her syllabus quiz. This class was a joke
She teaches like we are learning how to load nukes in a submarine when in reality we were just analyzing a play or something. Get ready to memorize a lot of random stuff that you will have to delete from your memory the millisecond that her class is over
Her class single-handedly made me want to drop out of college. condescending, prideful, and just a bad teacher
Dr. Haddock is great at communicating expectations and reminders for the course. She was super kind and spent time answering my questions and emails. You can tell she cares about what she teaches and about her students. Highly recommend.
This was awful
The only thing I didn't love about the class was the TA. She did most of the grading and would mark down some silly things. Lauri always did an amazing job in the lectures though, and she gave us alternatives to the exams which were a lot less stressful. I loved Lauri!!
I loved this class! Humanities isn't really my thing but she made it so engaging. She teaches everything that shows up on the tests, and gives you friday labs with test prep (very helpful)! Very little assignments, easily graded essays, online textbook. Exams are also proctored online. She ends every class with "Bye, Love You!"
Professor Haddock is great! She is an amazing story teller and makes it easy to remember little details during tests. There are only 3 exams and the final isn't comprehensive. Lots of papers but they are all fairly easy with lots of extra credit opportunities. There is a lot of reading that has to be done before each class however.
The class was super easy, and you can tell it's something she's passionate about. As long as you pay attention and read the textbook, you should get an A.
Difficult content! Use your TA's, they are there to help you! The exams were hard, so go to reviews and study hard. The textbook readings are long. This class was interesting because of Dr. Haddock. She was creative in giving her lectures and the stories she told.
