Mrs. Moore is an excellant teacher. If you go to class and jot down some notes, the test will be a breeze. You actually learn something from this teacher.

This class was pretty easy...I got an A. Just show up and do the ALTS(in class assignments) and listen. She gives out a study guide before the test with exactly what is onthe test. I definately enjoyed her class and recommend her to anyone who wants or needs sociology.

She is quite inspiring and influential. Her lectures are extremely good for not preparing prior to the class. She wants her students to pass. She confronts the students that have a C or below half way through the semester to see what she could do to help them. The homework is not very difficult. There are no tests nor quizzes. The final is a paper.

Lauri Moore is amazing. Sweet lady, great sense of humor. Her Soc 07 class is a little treasure trove of knowledge. I can honestly say I'd feel compromised had I not taken that class. She's an excellent instructor who honestly has a drive to see her students succeed within her classroom, as well as move on to bigger and better things.

She is really nice and funny! A very entertaining course. My advice is to make sure you go for all of the ALTs and take good notes. She'll mention people briefly and they WILL be on the tests. She gives you a study guide and KNOW THAT for the tests and you'll do just fine!

The Real Deal, You'll get an A as long as you complete all the alt assignments, pass the tests, and sign the attendance sheet. There is one group project you work on the whole semester so make sure to stay on top of that. Very interesting class and one of the best teachers if not the best here. I got an A.

And as long as you actually show up ON TIME,take notes and read them over, study, and just do your group & alt work. You can easily pass with you favorable grade. Amazing teacher!!

FANTASTIC teacher, and an extremely easy class. Moore is super fun and really funny! You don't need the book -you'll want it for one take-home test, but that's it. You can use the one in the library. Your grade relies on a very small number of projects throughout the semester, so make sure you take the time to do them well! They aren't hard at all.

She is really nice. Lots of group work. Midterm was a joke and some people still failed-- it was take home! I thought this class was going to be difficult, but I found it very easy. My classmates thought it was hard. I have a 4.00, however.

Attendance is mandatory. Grade based on small projects throughout the semester. Midterm is essentially the same thing as the study guide. If you stay on top of your stuff, you will get an A no problem!

Ms. Moore is a great teacher - but I absolutely hated the group projects. Write a group essay verbally, in class, with five 17-19 year old kids who have zero interest in participating or trying - yeah sure, that works out great for everybody. I would have enjoyed this class and would have gotten a better grade if there weren't any group projects.

Professor Moore is such a great teacher! Her lectures are really funny. There only 3 tests throughout the semester: 2 exams and a final. There is a group project which is pretty easy but it depends on the people in your group; how motivates, how much work they want to do etc. She gives study guides before each exam and its all multiple choice!

The class is straight forward show up & take good notes because that is what the tests are heavily based off. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. She is very passionate about what she is teaching you & makes learning hilarious but still informative. The only complaint I have is the group project but that was a one time thing.

Easy A she tells you everything she wants on her assignments. Must read chapters before class because she gets upset if you dont know the topic during lecture.

Wonderful woman. Definitely take her class! Her lectures are phenomenally interesting and I loved her. Her grading is fair, we had one group project so just make sure you know how to deal with people not doing their part and crack down on them as soon as possible. Her tests are very fair too. Great professor and great lectures. Gave a whole new perspective on things! She's really funny and so easy to talk to. She has a roll sheet so she definitely keeps track of who attends class! Study your notes and study the book and you'll do fine on the tests. Expect lots of group activities! Overall a really great PROFESSOR, recommend 10/10 :)

The only I could see someone not liking her class is if they don't believe in climate change, are racist/sexist and/or just don't care about any issues. She really opened my eyes about important issues going on all over the world. At first I was a little skeptical because of the group project but as long as you get good team mates it's all good!

The best professor at VC! I'm so sad she's retiring soon, but I'm so glad to have been able to take her class. Taking one of her courses was beyond educational. I'm so grateful to have taken her course.

While Lauri is a great person, I didn't really enjoy this class very much. The entire semester was spent doing a group project and then having a presentation each class period. Essentially, we were teaching each other about the social problems, but I didn't pay to have my peers teach me, I paid to have a prof teach which she really didn't.

Worked in groups basically every class. One take home test and a couple group projects with presentations. She doesn't require that each member of the group speak in front of the class so if you get nervous, it's alright!

I strongly suggest you take her because I have learned through her lectures and notes. I enjoyed her class which Im also taking her in the summer, but anyways, she has strongly motivated me to major in Sociology.

Ms. Moore is amazing! She cares about social issues and definitely about her students! She just wants you to succeed. Only advice is to show up to class because you can't make up ALT's in her class and that makes up most of your grade.

Mrs. Moore is a great person, inside the classroom and out. She wants her students to learn but also to not suffer from stress and anxiety normally associated with college courses. I think she's one of the only professors at ventura college who cared more about me as a person than just as a grade in a gradebook. Can't recommend her enough!

All her personal stories correlate with what you're learning and she makes it easy for you to understand and actually grasp the concept. I absolutely loved Prof Lauri, I thought she was amazing. Thankfully enough when the pandemic happened she lightened the workload, but the class wasn't the same without seeing everyone in person. It's easy to pass her class, but with the pandemic, it was even easier, and not as rewarding tbh.
