Laurie Campbell has inspired me to major in child development, she is an excellent teacher and I always have fun in her class :)

I love this class! I thought it was going to be dry and boring, but I actually look forward to her class. She is very helpful, knowledgable and funny.

Great teacher!!I guess everyone should take her class for their future babies. Very helpful. The tests aren't so difficult if you follow the study guide.

she is a great teacher...there are a lot of tests and you will have to study a lot to get a good grade, but it is all worth it in the long run...this is an interesting class!!!

SHE IS AWESOME! Best class and by far best teacher I have had at OCC! Tests are easy...she gives you all the answers in advance...really fun and easy to talk to...always there if you need help!

This was a great class and she is such a great professor.She makes things easy to understand and gives examples from her own life.Even though I'm not having kids for awhile she made me look forward to becoming a mother.I learned so much in her class and he class was very interesting.

Very professional. Lectures are interesting. Guides you along with her lectures. Funny,you can tell she's so into what she teaches the class. Focused, Clear. Tone of voice is very lively.I learned alot. As long as you do notecards and keep up with your study guide, you should do great! Awesome!!

This class is definitely easy, you don't really have to read the chapters to understand, because it's pretty much common sense. Just make sure you go over everything on the study guide and you should do well. She also makes the lectures interesting and always tells funny stories about her kids!

You can get a good grade if you show up for lectures.She allows 2 absences then you start losing points - not bad.There are 6 tests and 3 projects so there's a lot of room for error and redemption.She gives great examples of the material by telling stories about her family.Some teachers get uncomfortable when the subject is sex-related,but not her.

One of the best teachers I have ever had and one of the best classes I have ever taken. Because of this class I changed my major to child dev. Even if you don't want to work in this field, it is still very interesting to find out everything we went through as children.

its a really interesting class,during the first few days of class it was awsome,but as its ending,its getting pretty eh.she does talk about her kids alot,she loves them alot,but as she says more about them,you can kinda relate to the lesson quite better..thats just my opinion.but she's really awsome.she gives alot of hand outs.your work= your grade

An excellant teacher. Alot of material to cover in a 6 weeks summer school class, but if you find the answers to the study guides from lectures and textbook, you will do well. 3 days a week for 3 hours a day is alot, but it goes by quickly. Laurie is well organized and interesting. So, she uses her kids as examples...it sure helps. Grow up people!

She was a really good teacher not i got a really easy b with only studying for 1 test. The best part of the class though was the hot chick sitting next to me

She is a really nice teaher. Her class is easy if you take notes and actually do the projects. Her lectures are very interesting and she keeps you entertained.

Great teacher. Made material applicable to real life, doesn't read straight off notes. She has young children so she shares a lot of personal stories that apply to the lecture. Read the book to pass exams.

I loved this class! Laurie is so nice and helpful. The material is very interesting and the lectures and textbook are very easy to understand. This class actually made me change my major to Child and Adolescent Dev. I highly recommend Laurie's class!!!

Her stories are pretty funny.

such a wonderful teacher and loving person. makes the class fun and interesting. takes notes and read! tests are every other week. i had to make flash cards for the studing.

She really a good professor

I'm currently in her class... she has the best stories invloving her kids and some she's taught before and really ties her own parenting experiances into the teaching. I definately recommend taking her class. She also helps with any questions you may have and is willing to spend time outside the classroom if needed

This Child development class is fun. She gives you a study guide that's representative of the test. Just read the book, and answer those questions and you're set. She gives out most of the things you need to know during Lecture. She gives real life examples with her kids. Very practical class to have, even if you're not going to be a teacher.

Her stories make the class go by pretty fast. She seems like she could be the nice lady next door. She's great!

I acutally thought this class would be easy since i already took in H.S. Boy, was i wrong! This class was quite difficult for me..but i managed to pass with a decent grade . She is a nice teacher with a good sense of humor. I did fall asleep in her class a few times..and her tests can be hard if you don't study but overall, i like her humor.

She is a great professeur you are going to love this class.

I told her I would give her an A+ and I am. Just read the text and study the study guide and the tests are easy. Go to class and do the discussion activities. The paper and observation are fun and easy. She is really nice and easy to listen to. She is clear and she is NOT HARD AT ALL. A+

I loved this class. Her lectures are pretty interesting and she uses funny stories from her personal life to supplement her lessons. No homework, just a simple paper and an observation project. Tests are easy as long as you pay attention, follow her study guide and actually read the chapters. I would reccomend this class.

She is a very good teacher..........and very helpful........the class is so interesting.........and she gives you study guids for the test....there are 6 test which is good because then they aren't worth as much

Professor Campbell's lectures are interesting and informative. She really wants her students to achieve and gives them every opportunity to do so. Her exams are easy if you've done your homework and paid attention in class. The observation project is a great hands on way to do a report.

this is class is interesting. The exams are kinda easy kinda hard. you need to study, make a outline and it wll help you. the first exam is the group exam. There is a paper you need to write. Its pretty easy and fun to observe.

I LOVED this class. The professor is amazing. The tests were pretty hard. Her lectures were phenomenal. I learned so much from this class. Highly Recommended. Very enjoyable.

Professor Campbell knows her subject well, and can explain it in terms that make complete sense. The information is highly applicable and extremely manageable. If you do study guide the tests are a breeze, but CLARIFY on the observation project because the guidelines are a little hazy. Enjoyable class

I loved this class! Uses alot of personal examples which really helped to get her point across when we were discussing various terms..etc. I wish I could take another class of hers.

Fantastic professor! Pay attention to her lecture in class, I typed literally EVERYTHING she said, and read the chapters briefly. don't skip cuz she does participation points randomly sometimes and you could miss out! Her examples are great and lectures are fun! Take her if you can!!

LOVED THE CLASS! Phenominal professor. Yes we took a lot of notes & there was alot of info, "NEWSFLASH!" this is a college course. She provides a study guide for each exam, Just go to class, take notes & read the text, you should do fine. She's always there to clarify anything, JUST ASK HER! The complainers here, just didn't want to do any work!

I loved her! Her teaching style, helpfulness, and interesting lectures. Not only is the subject on a whole captivating, she is very straight forward but not boring. Those that have rated her low because she treats it like it's a "university" are an absolute JOKE. College is college, you just are slackers.

She explains everything clearly,at a good pace,and she has plenty of examples from her experience as a preschool teacher as well as surprisingly relevant stories about her kids that apply to the material. Keep up with the reading and the tests are easy. Observation assignment: took an hour to watch some kids, take another hour to type it up, got A+

EXCELLENT A++ instructor! I'm on ongoing student w/full-time job & single parent. Don't miss class, she periodically has group in-class points. 1 main project assigned (easy, fun)-use CLEAR examples. Lectures detailed/fun, be sure to print her powerpoint slides b4 ea. class. Read ur textbook, take portal quizzes. Study guides great, tests are easy!

Her tests are extremely hard! It's almost impossible to even get a C on her tests. She needs you to be super specific about what answer you write and she will grade you down for the most pointless things ever. This class and the other classes I have had to take with her have ruined my GPA. Her lectures are very interesting and good though.

Laurie's a cutie and really cares about her students. Her 3 hour classes get rather boring but she's so sweet and well respected. She made child development such an interesting topic for me because she was so passionate about it.

I had Laurie for a few classes and just graduated from this amazing program. Laurie is extremely intelligent and well spoken. She's fun, funny and passionate about turning students into loving caring teachers. I'm proud to have been a part of this amazing program and highly recommend it to anyone that wants to work with children. I'll miss Laurie!

Professor Campbell is a FANTASTIC teacher!! She knows her stuff and is able to give examples for almost anything she lectures on. Tests are easy if you use the study guide she provides. Overall, GREAT professor and would 100% take this class again!!!

i can't stress it enough about how she's such a amazing lecturer. posts all her lectures online and gives study guides. all her tests are easy as long as you pay attention to lecture and study the study guide. super nice and helpful and is open for questions during lectures and outside of the classroom

Laurie is amazing! Her HMDV180 class is great! She gives great lectures that you can print out on canvas so you don't need to take notes in class . The tests aren't very difficult because everything on the study guide is on the test. You don't need to bring the book to class but she does reference certain things from it that might be on the test.

She is so great! You NEED the textbook, I never read the chapters but I used it for tests because I was at home for zooms bc of COVID. Her lectures are funny and really informative. She's a hard grader, but she'll go over in class and tell you what's expected, the more the better. Tests are easy if you have the book, go to class and take notes.

She is a tough grader but she does give details of what is expected. Her lectures are detailed. I suggest printing out her power points and adding to that, she talks a little fast. She makes herself available and will answer any of your questions don't be afraid to ask her. She does grade weekly participation points so have your camera on/engage

One of the best classes I have attended, processor Laurie was delightful the lectures were very interesting, she gave us all the information we needed to know for the exams, which made it easier to study and pass the class. One thing I would suggest to future students, make sure you take advantage of the resources the professor has for you & read.

Her lectures were recordings since the class was online, but they were still very thorough and full of examples and detail. She is always available for questions and provides great feedback on assignments. Tests were kind of long but doable if you read what she requires from the textbook. Heavy on quizzes but you can take them until you pass. No EC

Very Caring and understanding, answers emails very quickly, the textbook and lecture videos helped the most for exams, the quizzes you could take multiple times until you pass, assignments are very easy. Loved this class.

This class in general was really hard and the workload is heavy. It prepares you for working in a classroom in the future but it is the hardest class I have ever taken at OCC. Definitely thought I would fail by the end and it wan't even because of my assignments but because of my lab hours. She expects your 110% even when you can't.

Super good teacher. She makes every class fun and enjoyable. Long lecture sessions but gives a good break in between and class is always done before time! Very nice and easy to talk to about anything.
