Hardest class i've ever taken.

Excellent Teacher, be sure to see her on her office hours and she will help you. This is a hard class be sure to study!!

She's a good teacher. She makes sure you ask questions and gives lots of examples. A little nitt picky when it comes to grading, but really good over all.
very helpful, good teacher. To suceed in her class, sit up front and make it known that you want to learn and get a good grade. For those who thought she was hard or not clear...I took chem 142 at Grossmont and they made her class look easy.
The worst teacher i've ever had. Means and yells at her students when they ask questions. When ask her questions, she will ask you it back. well, we wouldn't ask if we knew the answer right???

one of the best chem teacher. do your homework, go to her office hours. you will just fine. in intro chem, she prepare you well for 141. . attitude problem? so? informative lecturer. tests are only hard if you don't study.
her teaching abilities are very good, her lectures are clear and contained a lot of good information. She is a hard grader, and takes off points in a way that nobody in our class got a full score on labs, tets, or quizzes. If chem is your major, take her!
hard grader, over half the class is taking summer school, impossible tests, makes you feel dumb if you ask a question. If you can try to take another teacher
if you rate low for this intructor. you care lazy and don't study or you might have problems with her attitude problem. beside her attitude problem, she is one of the best intructor. do what she want you to do. you should do fine. I'm at university now
excellent teacher!! One of the easiest chemistry classes I have had!!
one of the best chem teachers i ever had. her lectures are very clear and helpful.if u like chemistry you'll enjoy her class.the exams are fair, but hard on grading labs!be on time and do what she wants you to do, you'll probably end up with an A.
Honest, likeable and strict. You will learn in her class what you need to learn. She is passionate about Chemistry and thats all that matters.
Good teacher, very helpful, sit up front and be serious or she won't help you.I wish I had her as a teacher now. I'm at a school in VA. I wish I could take her with me.If she thinks you not serious, you've lost, you might as well drop the class
if you want to learn chemistry just taker her she is a great teacher.
Extremely strict grader, she will take points off for anything and everything. Most of the class is failing due to her harsh stringent gradeing. Take her if you want half credit on everything you turn in.
she is hard, but she is the best chem teacher. you would learn alot. she is the best teacher in cc chem dept.
She is an awesome teacher...Don't get on her bad side or she will give up on you. Her lectures are clear and easy to understand. Yes she has an attitude and has set rules that can't be broken but that is part of what makes her one of the best teachers I've had, you can't get away with slacking!
She is a very tough grader. She definitely loves the red ink. However that is not a problem. If you study and pay attention once you get past the first 2 and a half months she lessness her strict grading. She is really nice to the students that try hard and stick it out. Good teacher.
she teaches the subject very clearly and good, but her problem is that she has an attitude and she flirts with any hot guy if that guy is your man big problem! she's not considerate or understanding, she does a lot of favoritism
No Comments
Last i checked all she had was a masters in chem, no need to get so pretentious when you didn't even stick it out long enough to get your ph.d Lose the attitude. She has to flirt so she can feel young again, dont take it serious.
She is very tough in details for her style in grading. So make sure you do a good complete job in your work and she will give you a decent grade. She is a excellent lecturer and the best of all teachers in that area.
She is a strict grader, but she is the best. She is very clear on the subject and give detailed notes. Descreptive. All the exam questions are on the study guide she provides.
Never challenge her or question her authority. Never be late or be absent to her class, you'll be severly penalized if you do. She's an extremely strict grader, and she gets offensive when people ask questions. She never gives partial credit. Unless you have a background in chemistry or have a lot of time for tutoring don't take her class.
She is a great teacher she teaches very good.
She made me hate chemistry. I have to take her again in the summer... it's going to be hell.
oh she's a nightmare! just kidding. She plays favorites, grades hard to really hard. The exams as well as the Final are off of study guides given in your syllabus. She's a cutie, does not like female students. Maybe its a pecking order thing? The labs are fun, there she's at her best!
She makes you hate chemistry, Plays favorites. She dropped some people when they had more than 2 absences and let some of her favs get away with more than 2. She is weird with the female students especially. Unfair grader. Bad chemistry teacher and a worst human being.
hard grader.
A satan disguised as a teacher
She is the worst teacher I ever had in my life. She is the most hated teacher for me in this world. She let her favorites to do whatever they want.
Notes were easy to take from lecture material, testa were not too hard if you study. overall it was a good class for the summer.

she is a ****ing ****. i'm telling you this teacher hardly smiles, always pist and she's strict as hell. she has an issue with students coming in late if you're not one of her kissass students, she is not very clear on the lectures and if your homework is a minute late she wont accept it. i don't ****ing recommend her and i hope she gets fired.
this teacher is ****ing weird and she will make you hate chemistry at all and my advice to you is not to take her class at all. the lab is kind ok and taking notes is ok but when it comes to a test you wont even know how to answer anything because she doesnt explain good and the test is going to be on a different thing from what you took i hate her
What a piece of work! She love to put students in their place in front of everyone and has her pets, they are all guys of course. Her final exam is the only part of the class that will not throw you for a loop. Her grading is unfair, check your tests, labs w/others for grading discrepencies
she is HORRIBLE!!!
She really is horrible. I read another persons feedback who said to ignore lazy students feed back. 4.0 grade average here and I still thought she was a &^%$#%. She grades unfairly, she also creates a very hostile enviroment.
Real teacher. kicks lazzy asses. Don't even get close to her if you are one of them.!!!!
She is passionate about Chemistry. Be ready to work hard, she assigns a lot of homework. Come prepared to class and she will like you. Take good notes because she gives you all the exceptions to the rules that will be on her quizzes.
Good, but moody teacher. Not too much homework, but the tests are pretty difficult. Very picky about lab reports, which are due every week. This class truly does require a lot of out-of-class time. If you don't want to work hard, take this class with someone else or at Grossmont.
Shes very strict and can be moody, but you'll learn tons. Her lectures are great and she does a great job with breaking down equations and explaining them. Be prepared to work and do a fair amount of outside study, a study group is the best way to go. Great class if you're a science major. Dont be afraid to go to her office hours.
SHE IS THE BEST! CAN BE MEAN TO THOSE WHO DONT STUDY.SHE IS ORGANIZED AND HAS THE BEST TEACHING METHOD.SHE ASSIGNS LOTS OF HOMEWORK AND GRADES PRETTY HARD,ESPECIALLY LAB REPORTS.SHE IS THE BOSS DONT EVER QUESTION THAT! IF U LIKE CHEMISTRY U LOVE HER CLASS!
This Class requires alot of time, and she really pours it on at the end of the course, with a water analysis lab.The exams themselves are difficult if you do not do any of the homework. My advice for doing well in this course is doing as many of the hw problems as possible. She picks problems right out hw for the tests.Make sure you have time.
Bad temper. Not very helpful in class.
She is a great teacher, however you need to get on her good side, participate, and do your homework. Ask questions and always come to class. other than the usual things, she is a good teacher. she has her moments. Just keep up with your studies and you will do great.
she is the best. moody only if you dont study! I miss her class.
She has a better than thou god complex. If she likes you, you will do well, if she doesnt... may heaven help you. She actually harrassed me once although I found it comical coming from a such a small person and all i did was try to do work for another class once her class was over. She is not very bright and thus doesnt teach very well.
With only a masters degree, i dont see how one can become so cocky.. This woman needs an attitude adjustment, thinks showing off skin in class scores her points. Just teach the class please. Has it in for any guys that are not good looking. Can't be objective.
Prof. Le Blanc is one of the best chemistry professors I've ever had. As long as you come at her with questions, she will help you greatly throughout the semester. She also provides review sheets which the whole class goes over the week before a test and she also makes the most boring labs as interesting as possible. She's an awesome chemistry teac
This teacher is not good at all. She is very rude sometimes and she behaves like politeness and humanity is nothing for her.In class she doesn't help. Her labs are challenging, but she never helps you and grades horribly tough. She is not strict, she is just ridiculous. She shouldn't be a teacher, she should work in a prison as a prison guard.Bad!
LeBlanc is srict and tough, but if you want to understand, and know how to do chemistry, She is a good teacher. Weeds out slackers but if you read the book and show her your interested and want to learn, than she is a great professor.
she teaches very well, but the only thing is that she wont help you when you need help, she'll just say, "you should know this" she has favorites, she grades real tough, i remember being in chem 141 i was getting 17/20 and when i came to her class, chem 142, i started getting 7/20. i had her for chem 120, and i remember her embarrasing me.
she teaches very well, but the only thing is that she wont help you when you need help, shell just say, "you should know this" she has favorites, she grades real tough, i remember being in chem 141 i was getting 17/20 on lab rep.and when i came to her class, chem 142, i started getting 7/20. i had her for chem 120, and i remember her embarrasing me.
Laurie Leblanc is an amazing teacher. She is so informative and is more than willing to help her students when they have questions regarding chemistry. I recommend would recommend her to anyone taking chemistry, she is that great!
She is a great professor. She will teach you everything you need and more about Chemistry in the most straight-forward manner. She's tough and expects alot, but prepares you far beyond for higher level courses. Read the book, do the homework, take the practice exams, ask questions, and work your butt off on lab reports-- and you'll do very well.
Not the best teacher unless your a slave to Chemistry. She doesn't explain if you need help, not a very interactive lecture. Don't take her unless you are committed fully to this subject.
She grades on a very harsh scale, taking points off for things she doesn't like. Its hard to learn basic chemistry in here class because she grades like its a graduate class. I have no interest in Chemistry because of her.
I didn't actually take her class but she was sitting in on my chemistry class. I was discussing a problem with the person sitting next to me and she actually said to the students around me "that girl wouldn't last five minutes in my class." And I was getting an A! Obviously condecending and rude. Who says something like that? Ew.
AWFUL, not only a bad teacher but a lousy person. Extremely moody, plays favorites, and grades lab reports like they're a f$#*ing formal essays you'd write for an advanced college english course. Science majors who have bad grammar?! WOW that's a Shocker! She thinks she is a genius but yet she teaches at Cuyamaca, Hm? DONT take Chem 120 with her!
she is the worst teacher i have ever had..the beginning of class she wrote on my report that she doesnt think i will pass the class..which teacher says that..and she doesnt help at all..u ask a Q she answers with a Q back to u..and she is rude..she needs to take a class on how to talk to ppl..she has favorites..and likes guys alot dont like girls..
freakin b. man she must have like 100 periods a semester cuz she has pms up the yin yang
evil, not inspirational and kills motivation, DO NOT TAKE
She is very hard in grading, but overall she is a very good teacher. If you do the homework she asks of you, and do your lab reports, then you'll do well in her class. Don't horse around though, she can get pretty mean. She explains the material really well, so you will not be confused about anything..She gives you the grade you deserve..
She is known for being a tough teacher. You have to be consistent with your studying in her class because the workload can be overwhelming and impossible to cram at the last minute. Show her respect, attend class regularly and abide by the rules and you should have no problems. She can be a bit moody, just don't get on her bad side.
She is the best teacher I've had at Cuyamaca. She is really hard, but will teach you so much about chemistry. She can be moody, so its important to not get on her bad side. Just follow the rules of her class, and know that it takes a lot of studying to do well in Chem 142.
Professor LeBlanc provides a great learning opportunity, it is up to the individual student to do the work required to benefit from this class. Show up on time, participate, take notes and do the homework and you can pass this class. She was willing to help anyone who asked for assistance, but expects you to put forth some effort.
In the begining of the semester there were 70 students. Today there are 14 students left. 80% of he class dropped, and its only chem120 (an easy subject). She is mean, rude, and I'm too scared to talk to her! If you value Your GPA do not take! I am a straight A student, but in her class I am getting a D! If you do not believe me, see for yourself!
I get along with her very much and think that compared to the other teachers she is the best chemistry teacher at the school. I have personally seen though that she doesn't grade consistently nor always logically. Identical test answers can vary by an A grade to a F and it depends on if she likes you or what mood she is in.
she has something against the whole world. she wants to make the students as miserable as she is. she will make sure u suffer and although she smiles, and encourages you she will backstab you. she is the worst human being i have met in mylife
Laurie has psychological issues she needs to deal with before interaction with humans
if I have two chocies one of them is going to another country to go the military to die, and the other is taking the class with Leblanc, I will choose going to a military. be a man and accept the shot of the military.
Never take her class unless your willing to be yelled at and sit in the room with a lady who you think is going to lose it in about 1.5 seconds or are willing to have your lab notebook as an actual legal document. One wrong move in this class and your done for.
Why do we keep moving? This teacher moves us class to class and is really mean! Not a good teacher!
This lady is crazy. She brought my GPA down from a 4.0 to a 3.87. I was a Chem Major until I took chem 120 with her seriously she's really difficult and has favorites in her class and grades easily on THEIR lab reports however; if she doesn't know you she will grade harder. ( I know my friend was one of her favorites) So yeah avoid her please
honestly i wouldnt reccomend her at all/ i had to drop the class. i am a one on one learner and she never had the time. she seemed to always have an attitude and was very picky with things even though she wasnt that clear from the start. she marks you down for everything and isnt up for negotiations. I definitely plan on taking another teacher.
SHe is one of the hardest teacher she has favorites in class which is bad ,, her tests are hard but she gives study guide before the test ,, she grades very hard and she doesn't care if u fail he class all she does is take a lot of points off the lab reports ,, homework ,, quizes ,, tests I MEAN EVERYTHING she is crazy :]
She is a hard teacher ,, but she explaines the subject really well ,,it depends on the student and wheather u study or not ,, she is not that bad over all I mean if ur major is CHEM then u should def, take her class ti understand chemistry
VERY HARD GRADER.. unfair at best. does not give clear instructions, yet is extremely picky with lab reports. faults students for misunderstanding material. Lectures and labs are rushed, exams are torturous. too much hw. unreasonable rules/requirements. confusing exam/quiz schedule - gives pop quizes. rude and constantly stressed out.
I learned a lot in her class. I never saw a problem with her. However, she is very passionate about Chemistry. She does grade very stiff, but it makes u learn. Respect her, be mature, and she'll respect you back.Yes, a lot of HW, but it's easy and pertains to the exams. I would take her again. Most problems were with immature freshman students.
First off, General Chemistry is a difficult subject. LeBlanc teaches very well, but her grading makes no sense. If a quiz problem has 8 steps and you mess up a number in the first, every step afterwards is marked down. Also, she is bi-polar and almost impossible to talk to. You are guaranteed the B if you try, but the A requires perfection.
The previous reply is right, general chemistry is hard! Just stay away from this teacher or any chemistry labs at this school. She plays favorites! be a guy and you should be fine. DO NOT BE LATE EVER! that will be the end of you and if you think you have a question that might be bad, don't ask it because YOU WILL BE DONE! Beware of psychosis!!!
The worst teacher i've ever had. Hard, demanding, rude and not fair. if you're a white GUY, you'll be fine in the class. you'll never be rewarded no matter how effort u put in this class. she'll always find a way to discredit you when it comes to lab reports. I TOTALLY DONT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER. Chemistry if fun, but she makes it a nightmare.
This class is a hard class and LeBlanc is a tough professor, but if you are willing to put in the work you can learn a lot. I found she was readily available at her office hours and usually willing to help. She wants the best for her students and puts a lot of work into the lectures and labs. She is the best professor I have had so far.
Took both G-chem's with her, honestly, one of the best teachers of my life. She's very helpful, knowledgeable, and is there for her students. If you see yourself working in science later in life, her class is a must; It's difficult, but the mindset, quality of work and level of detail one gains from her is well worth the work one must put in.
VERY Difficult prof. Perfectionist who wants it only her way. She doesn't care about the students retention or learning curves. Lots of unfair mark downs in grading i.e. -1 for using pencil on a quiz instead of pen. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER!!!
She is an excellent teacher. I was worried at first to take her class because of what everyone had said about her, but it's simply not true. Yes the class is very difficult and she is very picky about grading, but that's exactly why were in college is to learn the most and do the best that we can. You will be way more knowledgeable from her class.
I was scared at first because what everyone said about her, but once you take the class, you'll learn so much and she's actually really nice. Just don't piss her off, attend class, and study and you should do great. Also, do her HW! It's extreme helpful and I aced her class; during the SUMMER! I liked Leblanc's teaching very much!
She scolded, humiliated, and screamed at me to leave her classroom on our first lab, because I had a spiral notebook and not a "bound" notebook. She always talked to us like she hated us. Horrible, horrible, woman. Will not listen to you, and dismisses ppl resentfully if one minute late.
Grades labs very strictly but all chem profs do. Her lectures are amazing and she is the only teacher (in any subject) that I actually learned from rather than reading the book. Be on time, do EXACTLY what she asks on labs. Quizzes/exams are easy if you do homework. If you walk into lab late or try to turn something in late you will get yelled at.
She is terribly unhelpful teacher. When someone would ask HW questions, she would make everyone pull out a paper and turned it into a quiz. She marks down on anything she possibly can. I thought she would be sweet, but she uses a lot of swear words when you talk one on one.
If you miss high school, this is the class for you. She carries that all too familiar air of thinly veiled contempt for students. Her grading is subjective and harsh, this would be alright if she ever provided examples of full credit work.
Definately not a class that you can blow off. you have to do the work in order to do good in the class. Just make sure you show up on time, do all the homework, assigned reading, and take notes on lecture if you want a good grade. Shes a tough grader but it makes you a better student because your always trying to improve.
She's extremely unhelpful outside of class. When in class, she doesn't necessarily lecture, she does a lot of hw problems & examples on the board. Anything conceptual you'll have to read & learn on your own. She is a tough grader!!! You have to be very, very clear in your lab reports and test answers or else you're marked down drastically.
She is the toughest instructor in Cuyamaca. However, if you are heading towards medicine, you wil be well prepared for MCAT. It will seem like an 8 unit class, but it is possible to get an A. Dont be lazy, don't procrastinate homework and lab reports, learn from your mistakes, and always smile, and you will get an A just like me. Good luck!
She doesn't teach...just goes over homework problems in class. She is a tough and very subjective grader. She is not helpful at all and hates it when you ask questions. Moreover, she always seems mad and is not approachable.
Two things: Don't take chem. in the summer and don't take it with LeBlanc. I should've known better... Every complain written below is 100% TRUE! I really should have listened :(
She has a horrible attitude and does not seem fit to be a teacher. I feel like she doesn't know chemistry as well as other teachers I've taken and she overcompensates with a lot of busy work to make the course seem tougher. Avoid her if you can.
One minute late and you will get a zero on whatever it is that was due. Gets mad if you leave the classroom and will go out of her way to humiliate you... hold your piss in. Pray there's no traffic or come an hour early or you're getting zeroes out of whim. Crazy mood swings. You can pass the class, but there are better options. Steer clear.
It's been a year since I've taken her and I am still traumatized. All the comments about her horrible attitude are true. She makes learning very unpleasant and creates a hostile classroom environment. Someone should record her and submit the evidence of her verbally abusing students. Avoid her even if you have to take this class at another campus.
I really should have listened to everyone who told me how horrid she is, talk about mood swings, and humiliation at whim!
She's a great teacher! As long as you read and do the hw, you will pass with flying colors. She tells you exactly what she wants on quizzes hw and tests. She HATES late assignments! She's tough but a good teacher.
She's a tough teacher. Very anal about details, but as long as you pay attention to what she wants, you'll be fine. She's very particular & will take half a pt off if you don't put your section # on things, but if you study and do the assignments, you'll be fine. Tough, but learned a lot. Will collect HW sometimes & ask ?s or she'll give a pop-quiz
I should have listened to my friend's advice and waited for another year to take it with another teacher. she humiliates everyone and she yelled at everything. She takes points for punctuation like if it's an English class. I dropped with a W. Don't take her class
Very bad teacher. Very rude, attitude is terrible. Scolds kids and called one a health hazard today in class. She is a hard grader and will take points off of anything possible. I STRONGLY recommend a different teacher.
She gives lectures, does problems on the board, and gives review sheets, but she is a terrible human being. She humiliates students and speaks to people rudely and condescendingly. Even if you show up on time and do the work, expect to be verbally abused. She takes questions as a personal offense and creates a hostile learning environment.
her favorite hobby is to scream and humiliate people. Grades people according to how she like/dislike them, with no regard for their actual performance. Try Not to take this class. there are other teachers and colleges that you can take it in. If I had to describe her and her class to you in one word, I would say horrific.
I can honestly say she is just about the worst teacher I have ever seen she's extremely strict on grading even more so then university teachers. She will humiliate you in class and if you miss 6 hours you are automatically dropped which wouldn't be so bad but labs are 3 hours long and if you forget something in your notebook she kicks you out.
If you are considering taking her class I advice you to heed all the negative reviews and try to find a different teacher if possible she is just about the worst there is. She is anal about everything and will publicly ridicule you in class and tries to drop as many students from her class as possible she is extremely rude and has a bad attitude.
Teacher has passable lecture, but her attitude is the worst o any teacher I've ever had. She punishes students for very small causes. She finds any way possible to take points off on assignments. She teaches as if she hates her students. Try to take another teacher if possible.
Shes definitely strict and tough to get a good grade with, but she is one the best teachers ive ever had. She explains everything so clearly, and whenever i need help with some homework or a lab report, shes very helpfull and always willing to help me out!
At first she may be intimidating, but that is just her way of weeding out the less serious students. She is very strict when it comes to attendance, tardiness, and grading, but it all has a reason. Be warned though, this class will work you. I have grown to respect her as she is very knowledgeable and all the work she assigns only helps to better you.
Horrible teacher. Not a real teacher. Be prepared to teach yourself. Bad attitude - creates a hostile learning environment.
I am not going to lie. She is tough to pass. Be prepared to do reading and homework twice a week and lab report with lab prep and sometimes a prelab weekly also. So... just make sure you have a ton of time available. There were only 3 As in the class. I would opt for a different teacher if possible, but she is passable.
No matter how genius you are, you will not be evaluated for your Chemistry skills in this class. You will lose your ALL of your points over you word choice, font size and style, vocabulary and lots of other silly matters. Personally, I tried communicating with her and asking her about how I can improve and was ignored by walking away.
This is not an easy class. A lot of homework and hard labs. if you have any questions just read the instructions and reread them again because you will be sent back to your instructions if you ask her any questions.
This is an easy class, but try it with a different professor.
In all honesty, this class will be a shock to new college students. The tests and quizes are hard, there is a gratuitous amount of homework, the labs are require your full attention, and the lab reports are graded harshly. However, if you are intending to become a science major or an engineer, this class will help you get used to future classes.
Alright people, I have the key to success in this class. This goes to all the people that are reading the horror stories on here! LeBlanc has a rare talent and that is being able to ACTUALLY teach chemistry. However, she is a bit scary. So, I suggest taking her lectures but making sure there is another teacher when signing up that heads labs. BOOM!
Shes is really rude ! Many teachers have suggested not taking her and her first response to people on the waitlist were that about 50%-70% of her students drop so they will have a chance to be in the class. She doesn't make things clear when she explains it all she does it put problems on the board, you pretty much teach yourself.
Not only do you have to learn chemistry, you have to learn how to do chemistry her way. If you don't, and it's not easy to do, you will not pass. She warms up after over half her original class drops, but her grading remains ruthless and will never be compromised or changed. However, if you pass you're ready for the next level. Your call.
If part of answer is incorrect she will mark the entire question Wrong. Does not answer questions in class or office hours. Wont teach in class instead assigns hw that the students do in class. Will publicly degrade students. I asked to see my final because it brought my grade down and she said no. Late? the assignment grade is zero
In Chem 120 Laurie is tough. She is weeding and you feel it. In Chem 141 the material is just as tough but she is no longer trying to weed out the riff raff. She genuinely wants you to learn something and is tough because she wants you to come from her program prepared for any 4 year university. She succeeds in this regard. Tests are still tough.
She is a really great teacher. At the beginning of the semester she is a very tough and intimidating. She wants what she wants and accepts nothing else. There are many opportunities for extra credit but it is your responsibility to take them. If you are in a major that requires a good chemistry foundation I highly recommend her.
She's a tough teacher and a hard grader!
I used to love chemistry.... then I entered this class...
If you want to be babied in college, this class isn't for you. She does not pass out A's and has high expectations for all of the work she assigns. Overall, her teaching is what's best. Granted, she is pretty intimidating, but you can tell she cares, especially later in the semester. You will definitely learn good work ethic in this class.
NO words to describe this teacher. Seems like she doesn't want you to pass and does her best to fail you. If you are a genius taker her. If not, be ready to torture yourself.
With all my respect, try to take same class with different professor because I had the most terrible experience ever, and I learned how to be rude.
My experience with Mrs. LeBlanc has been great because she has been one of the few college teachers who actually care about you learning the material. It may not seem like it, but its true. I thank her for having had the patience to teach us. If you study real hard you'll pass with an A, like I did. Thank you Mrs. LeBlanc !!!
Worst teacher Ive ever had, she finds enjoyment in being mean to students and she is very rude, her class is really tough she runs it like she wants to get rid of students and only keep serious ones even if your major isn't chemistry. Please listen to the other bad reviews and DO NOT enroll in any of her classes
Nothing personal, but try to avoid this class as possible. Alot of homework, and every small simple mistake " such as date" will lose points. I had very bad experience and I don't want to you live that stress.
This class will not help you with anything. Serious communication problems occur as you ask professor to correct your mistakes.
dont ever take this class because she is the worst chemistry teacher i have seen in my life, her test are so tough, and her material too. she grades you for grammar mistakes and for everything, and she just wishes to give anyone an F. i dropped her class.
she a very bad grader, and she grades you for grammar mistakes too. dont ever take her class because you will never pass it.
Uncompromisable grader. Very rude person. Keeps the class extra 15 minutes every day and will become angry with you if you leave when the class is supposed to end. Points taken off for not putting section number, or stapling paper incorrectly. She really tries her best to fail her students. She better pray not to see her students off campus
Horrible experience. Avoid this professor as possible.
She give little to no help, Criticizes questions asked in class and purposely tries to humiliate students for their struggles in the subject. Tough grader, takes a significant amount of points off for any minor error. Very strict and not understanding or helpful. Avoid her if possible.
Try to avoid this class as possible.
Difficult class. If you don't show up more than 3 times, you will be dropped from the class. If you put the wrong date you will lose points.
very very very bad teacher, try to avoid.
Literally the worst teacher I have EVER had! I am okay with her being tough because that is expected of a Chemistry class, but she is extremely rude and yells at you for very small things. I did not bring my lab notebook in with me to a room and she flipped out on me because of it. It is not easy to learn in that kind of environment.
I did not learn here, but I did alot when I tried the same class with different professor.
I did not learn here, but I did alot when I tried the same class with different professor. Things were not explainec enough
read the reviews, she will practically take points off for anything she can think of. staple the paper wrong, spelling/grammar mistakes, being late to class (be there 3 minutes late, she will not take prelab, and you won't be able to do labs), the list goes on. chemistry is not as hard as physics, she just wants to make it hard. avoid!
LeBlanc is the worst teacher I have ever had. She assigns an absurd amount of homework, and lacks clear instruction in her assignments. She has no respect her students. Late work can't be made up, even due to illness. Don't expect replies to your emails either. Choose a teacher that cares about your success, you won't find that here.
Professor LeBlanc is a great teacher. It's possible to get an A if you do all the homework. I passed with about a C+ or B-ish with just my knowledge from High School Honors Chem. Just make sure you do the homework because we go over it sometimes in class and students get called on randomly.
This Professor like to assign a lot of useless, helpless homework. She not even bother answering my questions. So complicated with no help. Points will be taking out for the small things regardless to your hard and correct papers.
Horrible professor, takes points off for the most ridiculous things, puts lots of material on the exams and does not specify exactly what the test is on so you have to study the entire unit, do not be late because she won't accept your homework, very rude and does not care about you passing or failing the course.
I don't recommend this class. chem 120 is a difficult class, and if you take it with someone like this class who doesn't answer your questions and take out points very easy. You're passing chance is very low.
Skip this class you will not pass. Super ridiculous treatment.
Worst teacher ever. She teaches the simple example problems in the chapters but doesn't mention that the harder material that you will actually be tested on, can only be learned by coming to her 3hr 020 component class. If you do an equation the way the book teaches vise her way, she will mark you down. She marks down for grammar, just ridiculous.
Ive never seen a teacher that wants her students to fail so badly. honestly she is the worst teacher ever and she could care less about the students and their success in this class. She makes this class so boring and dreadful to come to. AVIOD HER CLASSES !!!!
Hardest But Best Teacher I ever had at Community college, didn't realize how much she prepares you for the future until your there. Using Techniques and habits she teaches you puts you so far ahead of other students in your classes when you transfer.
Professor LeBlanc is the toughest but greatest professor I've ever had. She cares about the success of her students; her lectures cover so much. I rarely read the textbook in her class. If you understand that lecture material, you will probably do well on tests. It was the lab reports that lowers my grade, because she grades them hard.
Leblanc has high expectations for her students. Therefore, grading labs, free-write questions, tests, and homework get strictly graded including in grammar. No matter what reason you have to miss class, she would be upfront in not caring about it. approaching her for any help was futile. She has a rude attitude and offended for no reason.
Highly respected and caring professor. Take her if you want a solid foundation in chemistry. Don't take her for an easy A. Show her that you care about your grade and she will help you. Don't be late to class, don't skip the homework, and try to attend her workshops. The first few weeks are hard, but then you will become a LeBlanc survivor.
Grades every single detail in your lab notebook, for example. You miss an equal sign in a certain equation, she takes off hella 5 points. Doesn't allow talking in class, not even to ask a friend a question. sheesh.
This class is extremely strict. Coming in a few minutes late will cost you an entire assignment. She looks at every tiny detail in your work, and the points taken off add up fast. She doesnt give points for most of the hw assigned. She also seemed unfriendly and unempathetic. She taught the material fine but was unhelpful past the lecture.
I only had LeBlanc for chem 120 lab. Very precise about how she wants things done but her expectations are in the syllabus from the start. Like many have said, she is very attentive to detail on lab reports. If you're planning on being late to class, don't bother showing up. Aside from that, just do the work, show the effort, and make no excuses.
Professor LeBlanc is the best at given you a chemistry foundation. Yes, she is a though grader, specially with the lab reports, but that is to make things easier for you for the following chemistry courses. Chem 141 has two labs per week, meaning you have two lab reports to make in less time, so if you really wanna know how to them take her class.
Laurie is a fantastic teacher. Yes, her class is hard. Yes, she is a tough grader. She is director of the STEM program and the science department chair she may be tough but no doubt will she prepare you for tougher classes to come. I suggest you only take her if you are a STEM major or need to prep for other chemistry classes.
-Is very mean to students for no given reason, takes her anger out on them for personal stress she has most likely -class too hard for what it is -screams constantly, makes me wish I was listening to nails dragging on a chalk board instead of her voice -is not specific about anything -never turns in graded assignment -give 50+ questions a week
If you are able to avoid this professor, do yourself a favor and avoid LeBlanc. She is a good lecturer, but just a generally terrible person. I was one literally minute late to class, and she did not permit me to take the quiz, turn in the homework or prelab. I asked if I could quickly take the quiz in 5 mins, and she said "No, go away". Verbatum.
Professor Le Blancs will tell you up front that Her class is designed to prepare students for a future in the stem field and weed out students. I do not recommend this class if you are looking for an easy a, and it will be a very difficult class to pass, but if you can pass this class, you can pass any class. She really does care though
I'm currently a grad student and had this instructor a few years ago. She was so terrible that it resonates with me today and I reference it as the worst class I have ever had in my academic career- easily. Avoid at all costs. Laurie read the article "Don't Take Our Failures Personally" by Nicole Matos. It will serve you well as an instructor.
Sry 2 break it 2 some of you snwflakes, but it's not the job of ur professor to be agreeable. LeBlanc isn't the type to hold your hand. If u put in the work it's a breeze. She prepares students 4 success in future lab courses that are much harder. You will not get away with sloppiness, incompetence, or done-right-before-class work with her, love it
