she does not have any compassion for students. Does not care if students pass her class. What's up with this picture starts class with 40 plus students and ends with 6 which only 3 passed the class.
Not the easiest teacher to pass with a C. It's all I can say.
Very helpful and dedicated teacher. Although she has hard grading policy, she uses her effective teaching techniques to help you to build a strong fundation.
i hate math but made it thru with this teacher. you have to do the homework to do any good with the tests but she generally assigns problems that you really need to understand to do well on her tests.
She is not a easy class only 2 people passed and 1 of them took her 3 times.Don't take her if you want to pass geometry heard she is better in other levels. She doesn't care if you pass.Grading is hard and every test has a proof that are always hard.
she is a nice teacher and ever thing but damb hard. 30 people started and 7 passed
HORRIBLE! Absolutely the opposite of what a teacher should be. Try going to her office hours to get help and it is as if you are wasting her time. Doesn't care if you get it. My class, the same as other people have said, started out the same way, full class, even people trying to add. By the end I think maybe 5. Worst teacher ever in math.

Hard as all get out. i when to the extra study stuff and me and most of the class are now taken it in the summer. dont take her unless you like summer school
I think she was hard, but it made me try harder. and i ended up getting a B in the class. i agree that only about 6 people were left at the end. but people these days have teachers who will just give them an easy A and they wont have to work at it. and thats ridiculous. you have to try. she is hard. but i learned alot and i think she is a great.
no matter how hard you try and get a good grade there will be something wrong and it will effect your grade dramatically. its like she doesnt want anyone to pass her class.

Professor Morvan is a great math teacher. She is funny and witty, which makes learning math really fun. I would recommend taking math 20 and 40 first, so you have a good Algebra background. Learning the theorems and proofs can be a little hard, but if you study and make flash cards it isn't too hard at all. I didn't have much trouble getting an A.
fun. sarcastic. and tries very hard to make it a good learning environment. BUT, to me... her methods of teaching.. was not exactly the best. She always asks if you need help and does her best to help. she is very friendly and a good person in general. There is no breaks btwn lectures, homework is a lil hard to do, not to mention there is a alot.
do you what a limacon is? if you dont i wouldnt take this class its hard but she is an awesome teacher
Hard. Assigns even numbered problems for homework. Going to SI or her office (which I could not fit in my schedule) was the only way to verify the answers. I was doing problems wrong and it affected my test performance. Deducts points on tests for right answers without enough steps showing how you got to it. Only a few students in class at end.
don't take her if you dont have to! she doesnt give partial credit on exams unless you turn in ALL your homework.which is impossible in math because it's so easy to forget small details. it really screwed me up n a lotta other peeps i know. there was like 9 people left b4 i dropped. not good. her notes were okay tho and she gave good examples.
notes are INTRICATE.. and detailed.. which is good so are her tests and quizes.. which is bad.. her tests are like MCATs.. --.--- one detail off.. you only get partial credit shes nice, and even jokes around in class, but because of the serious atmosphere in the class.. not a lot of people laugh. this class is hard. but if you listen
really really hard teacher.. you have to like math and study really hard if you want to pass..
SHE is SUCH an AWESOME teacher!!! all these people that said she is hard or unclear is wrong! they prob. never went to class at all or are absolutely dumb!!! I had her in high school.. when she was a teacher at my high school.... she is funny, nice, and very helpful!!! take her!!!

Would not take again, does not use a correct teaching style. Throws people into stuff before they are ready. Covers new material before a test and reviews for tests after they are taken...
This class is tough. I was lost and uninterested in her class. Now I'm taking it with another teacher, and it actually makes sense. I'm usually really good at math, but I had a really hard time in this class.
Difficult subject - but very helpful lectures. If homework is done - exams are not too hard. Many ways to get a good grade. Hard to do well if lectures are not attended.
a great teacher, i had an A in her class...nice way of teaching...her exams are easy if u attend the class, review her notes and do the homework..believe me, ask any question, she will explain realy well and take her time. good luck u guys!
Great teacher. Her notes are very thorough, and it's easy to do well on the tests if you do all your hw, go to class, and review your notes (which you're supposed to do anyway). The class is kind of hard at times, but she takes the time to go over any questions you have. I would definitely take her again.
really tuff grader. makes u do all the homework but u only turn in half. but really helpful at explaining the work
Extremely difficult to understand-and I'm a high "A" scoring Math student! Confused? Ask questions, she'll just go back to her original explanation, which was the source of confusion to begin with! Spend tuition dollars on someone else who cares if you understand or not.
She is a great professor. Make sure that you take notes b/c they are really helpful, and they make the concept very easy. Try not to be absent as much as you can so that you can understand everything. She alsways helps students when they ask her. Take her and you will not feel sorry !
She likes to make lame little jokes alot but she tries to teach the best that she can. she is helpful if u need and answers your questions as thorooughly as she can but all the homework is required and you will only get credit if you complete ALL the homework. by doing so, you can obtain partial credit for problems on the test. if you don't do the
This class was really tough for me because I hate geometry so much, but she did a great job at explaining everything. If you study proofs really well and pay attention during class then you should do fine. Make sure you complete all homework, because it is vital to the class. Really helpful and really nice!!!
MUST DO HOMEWORK IF YOU WANT A SHOT AT PASSING, THE TESTS ARE CHAPTER TESTS SO YOU MUST KNOW EVERYTHING IN THE SECTIONS, NOT JUST THE GENERAL IDEA IF YOU WANT TO REALLY SUCCEED. IF YOU DONT LIKE DOING HOMEOWKR DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. COMPLETE HOMEWORK = PARTIAL CREDIT TESTS. NO HOMEWORK = DOOMED ON THE TEST. LOL OVERALL SHES A DECENT TEACHER.
This teacher is the teacher if you wanna learn good in Trigonometry. She expects you to know everything after one example. Her grading is extremely tough, she only gives partial credit on completed homework. She gives homework questions on stuff she never taught! You learn more from the SI tutor than her. please stay away!!
she's supper cool and funny teacher. U can ask her whatever, and she try to help until everything is clean!!! As long as u r willing to learn stuff,u will get an A anyway!
she gives too much hw assignments and seems that she checks every question to take off pts. her lectures are great though, she makes it easy to understand. u get to drop one low score whether it be total hw points or one exam. class attendance is mandatory to get a good grade because her lectures are better than books. but hw is unnecessarily long.
I suggest this teacher for international students, 'cuz she is really good, and it's easy to understand what she's talking. I'm taking her Calculus, and it's really cool. She's also helpful and always answer all yr quests. Anyway, just one thing i dislike is she doesn't prepare her notes, just some at the beginning of this semester, cuz she is busy
I love her teaching style. it's crystal clear. Trust me, if you really wanna learn, take her. If you pay attention and do the work, easy A. if you don't, that's your problems, not hers. she's a great guitarist + singer too. love this class, i'll take her again for Calculus.
She is very good teacher and is very nice. The only bad thing is that she gives a lot of homework.
She is realy good teacher. In my 142 and 150 AC, I get A gread. If she will start to taking 150BC, I will go with this teacher.
I walked into my Math 015 class so nervous and scared (no likey math) and after delving into the material, it immediately came clear to me what a WONDERFUL teacher Prof. Morvan is. She laid down a foundation of mathematics that will lead me into every course. A earned an A from her. Sure it's work, but there's a method to the motive there.
A very nice and kind person. Tries very hard to let everyone understand the subject. Lots of homework though, but mostly odd problems so you can check answers in the back. Very picky on tests at times. She tries to joke around at times and brighten the mood since most of the time the class is very serious so she tries to make a little laugh here and there. Overall, nice person and if you have questions she's willing to help. I would choose her as a teacher again if she ever teaches higher math.
A real challenge and don't expect her to curve, drop scores, or give extra credit. She a good teacher though!
Math was my favorite subject before I took this class. This teacher assigns a ton of HW and isn't the best at explaining concepts when students have questions. Class is a bit of an 'information overload' so if you don't have any outside help, you may have some trouble. She's a nice person, just not the best teacher in my experience.
The exams are very difficult, she overloads on information every lecture, this is not an easy A if that's what your looking for. Atleast she has SI sessions, otherwise i'd be failing the class right now. Not a bad person, but too difficult for my tastes.
- Goes out of her way to help students - Very clear; oversimplifies nothing, but uses helpful graphics and explanations - Thorough assessments: 5 exams & 10 quizzes; returns all with explanations & will explain your mistakes in her office - Posts grades online regularly - Writes helpful lecture notes - Unhelpfully excessive HW: 83 problems/wee
She teaches well but the tests and quizzes are very hard. There is also a lot of homework assigned for this class. It's not impossible to pass but it's very hard
Class is very challenging and if you dont like hw, this isnt the class for you. She doent drop any test or quizzes so everything counts. If you can take another teacher, I suggest you do.
I totally disagree with her partial credit rule. Some people can't do homework all the time. Sometimes, hw can cost you more than 30 points b/c you don't get partial credit on tests. Overall, she is good at explaining and is nice, but very strict on grading.
doesn't teach, assign too many homeworks, doesn't go over them, homework & test questions are two world apart...
Don't take her she's the worst teacher you will find in the department Avoid her at all cost!!!
might look helpful, but doesn't look like she care about anything in the class, basically a self study class... not even close to a decent math teacher...
don't take her class!!! 1/3 of the class failed & only 1 person got an A as final grade... total bs...
really terrible instructor don't take her...
horrible, HORRIBLE teacher. her quizzes are much easier than her tests. if you ask her a question about the homework, she is helpful but that's about it. if you can, take all of your math courses at fullerton.
horrible teacher. doesnt want to help much. not good at explaining. she thinks you should know all of the stuff before comming into class even if you havent taken the subject for a while. dont take her she doesnt want to help students that want to learn or remember. I am the best at working at it till i get it but she is just not going to help you.
Her class is going to be hard for those who don't work hard and not pay attention. If you don't procrastinate your work and go to her with your problems you will definitely succeed in the class. You will need to keep practicing. Homeworks are important.
She is a great professor for those who really want to study!
if you can't attend her after hours or tutoring sessions, forget about getting a good grade in that class because she'll grade harder on your tests and quizzes.
To those who think she isnt a good professor, she really is. I dont go to SI meetings or tutor sessions etc, but after every test or quiz i always go up to her and ask for help and she willingly helps. It's rare you find a professor that helps you out willingly and wants to ask. Math isnt something you breeze by in. Study and you'll do good.
I don't understand why she gets so many bad reviews. Pros: Her notes are crystal clear. She is willing to help you. A piece of advice: Do your homework. Most of problems on quizzes and exams are similar to those in notes and homework. Cons: She grades hard but fairly.
She is a good teacher. She knows her stuff and gives a pretty good explanation. She's always willing to help you. Homeworks are important and so is attendence. I would definitely take her class again if she lectures 150B too.
One of my favorite teachers. Basically all of the bad reviews are from people who didn't put in the work. You cannot coast in this class you have to do the hw. She knows her stuff and is more than willing to help. If you actually want to learn the material and are willing to actually (gulp) work for your grade she is great. Wish she taught 150B.
Not very good. Generally unhelpful. 2nd time I have taken her for a math class, and each time about half the class had dropped b/c of the difficulty level.
If you like to self teach yourself, go ahead and take the class. Don't take the class if you want step-by-step teaching. she's strict when it comes to grading. Overall, she's an ok teacher. Her jokes are a little funny. she might come off as boring on first day, but she's decent. I dont mind.
She is really nice and wants to help but her class is not easy. Her tests are hard. You actually need to spend a lot of hours at home just to pass. Says jokes and loves it when you come to her office hours.
So much work. The work load for this class is extensive. Homework can be very challenging, but you must do all of it because it determines if your test is graded with partial credit. Her lectures are clear, and she's very welcoming when you go to office hours. She gives fair tests and quizzes, but you need to really put a lot of time in.
i am an A student in all the math courses that i took in my life except this one, thanks to morvan i got my first B ever. first teacher that does not drop anything. the test are not that easy. she grades very harsh. excessive HW on mymathlap (online), which does not help at all. i would not recommend her for anyone.
This professor is amazing. She explain everything and she make everything easy. She is very helpful and she always answer my questions. Tests are kind of hard but with studying nothing hard. Her grading is fair but not harsh.
Harsh grading,no test review sheets, tons of homework, she rarely go over the homework questions, many people drop from her class.I don't recommend her for people who don't have background about calculus.
Harsh grading, too much homework, and hard tests. She is very strict about homework.
Professor Morvan is helpful and truly wants her students to succeed. As she says, "I'm on your side!" However, her class can be difficult. You absolutely have to do your best to get a good grade in this class. She's a pretty good lecturer as well.
She can be tough on grading, so you have to be careful to show all your work and go over tests. She's more lenient on homework though. She lectures very clearly and explains proofs very well. She's also a good speaker and brings some energy to the class. All in all a good teacher that will make you more careful.
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. Explains concepts VERY well and clear and can tell she really wants her students to succeed. A bit of a hard grader on tests, gives hardly any extra credit, but not impossible to get an A in the class. Always available during office hours which is helpful. Lets you make up one test but doesn't drop any
I feel like she needs to do an exam review before every test. Her tests and quizzes are very hard and are nothing like the homework. She also gives an absurd amount of homework; I barely manage to finish them in time. She expects you to be doing homework everyday but then she needs to realize people have other classes and plans to attend to.
Harsh grading, too much homework, very hard tests, she go over the materials very fast. What can be worse than this! Take her if you want to make your life miserable and hard !
She seriously need to be easy on the hw assignments. Have no time what so ever to study for her class because all i have time to do is Her HW. What is the point of doing hw that is not even close to the tests. In additions she need to be more considerate about grading her test like we are all engineer majors. Helpful teachers but hard.
Professor Morvan is, by far, one of the best profs I've taken. The easiness score on this site is false.. passing the class is as easy as doing the homework to receive partial credit on tests and re-writing notes to study (a tip from Morvan herself.) I managed a perfect score on the final and an A in the class even though math isn't my strong suit.
she is a great teacher. she will make you work hard but you will be a better student because of it. she is easy to talk to and available for help. i wish i could take her for all my math classes.
Morvan is a pretty good professor. She is really friendly and a good professor to go to when you need help. She is one of those professors that really are there to help you during office hours. Yes, her class may be tough, but do your homework, take advantage of printing her notes before class, and you'll be okay.
Professor Morvan is one of the best professors I've ever had as far as math is concerned. Yes, there's a lot of homework, but it makes the exams easy. Print out the notes before class, follow the exact way she does the problem in the notes on the exam, and you'll be fine.
She was able to let me take my tests a bit later because I always had other matters to attend to. She saved me a lot was willing to work with me all the time. You must attend class for the lectures.
She is a great teacher and really takes her time with lectures. It was almost too slow at times, but not pain-stakingly slow or anything. MyMathLab is helpful, but there are definitely a lot of problems to do. If you don't keep up with the homework, you definitely won't pass. If you do the homework, tests are easy. Plus she is funny and very caring
This professor found her calling! Great at what she does and is willing to help in any way possible. Even though the class was tedious, she managed to crack a few jokes in there which made it more fun and reminded everyone that with hard work its possible to succeed in the class. Highly recommend taking her if you're serious about your studies.
Professor Morvan is very good at what she does. I understood all her lectures clearly. She gives good feedback on her tests and makes excellent study guide for them before hand. There are a lot of homework involved in this class, but honestly if you don't do it, don't expect to get a good grade, it's not a sit-back-and-relax kinda class.
Morvan is a very good teacher. Although, her tests are very difficult. She expects you to do the work HER way on tests. She takes more than half the points if you get The Algebra wrong rather than the Calculus part. There is A LOT of homework and quizzes for each section. If you have a lot of time in your hands then take her but i dont recommend
Extremely hard Class, Class started with 55 students only 18 left and half of those an F, had to withdraw at deadline to avoid an F. I only have As and a couple Bs. until this teacher.
Took the online class, ending up dropping. She's helpful but gives WAY too much work barely anytime to even learn because you are rushing to keep up with all the assignments. Expect to take lots of notes and you are required to do the reviews, they r due on test day. Hw and quizzes are due every Sunday online. This class will take most of your time
Prof Morvan is an excellent teacher, she takes time to explain everything. But her grading is harsh, do particularly her way or no way. Her exams are based on exam review, just too much for 2 hour test, also prefer no calculators. For who never learn Trig before: to get A in this class? WORK EVERYDAY to keep up with homework, quizzes & exam review.
I was pretty hesitant to choose Professor Morvan due to the difficulty rating but I am so glad I had her for my calc class. She is a real gem and her notes and reviews are gold. Through her class, I was able to realize hard work does really pay off and it is really worth it. I wish she taught math 150B too.. If you work hard, you will succeed!!
Mindless busywork! You have to print reams of notes from dull, tedious lectures, most of which you won't turn in, as well as 20+ page reviews, even if you understand the mat'l, or she savages your exam with all-or-nothing grading ("If I have to work, YOU have to work,"). Why buy MathLab, then? I'd rather switch majors than take her classes again.
I struggled to keep up with the homework that was based on the textbook rather than her notes. It felt sloppy and uncoordinated to do so much work and it didn't mean anything on the tests when it came to the bulk of my grade. There was a lot of hand-holding with having to copy her notes word for word instead of traditional notes.
Will have homework almost every night. Homework problems harder than test problems. Will have webassign quizzes every 2 days but usually have Sunday off. Tests are not hard if you do the study guide and ask her any questions you have. Test questions similar to study guide. Overall good professor for Calc and I'm an engineering major.
Loved Professor Morvan's class. Bright and funny. Very organized and helpful. You must have knowledge of trig to pass. Only thing, wish the grades weren't so inflexible. At the end I did some calculations, and whether I got an A+ or a D- on the final (and even if I went back and got 100% on all HW), I would still get a B in the class.
Love the way she explains her lectures. She is nice and intelligent. It's easy to get A if you finish all her review homework for each exam.
Professor Morvan was a really great teacher. Even though the class wasn't a free A, she was transparent with the difficulty of the tests, so we always knew how hard the tests were going to be. Make sure you genuinely do all of the work she assigns you, since her study guides are just like the test. Her lectures are also super comprehensive.
She makes it easy to get an A, and is an amazing lecturer!! But calculus is difficult no matter what. She provides you with practice tests with full written out answers. If you actually study, you'll do fine - but if you slack off at all, you'll do terribly. You must be serious about this class in order to pass, and she will help you.
just focus in the concepts for the exams and you will get an A. She explains the concepts in a way that everyone can enjoy math. She's the best !!
Calc 1 with Morvan is super clear and she prepares you very well for her exams. Hone in on her lectures/notes and its just a study guide for the exam! I was hesitant to take her, but I'm so glad I did! I didn't expect to enjoy this class since I'm usually really bad at math. If you want a clear professor who doesn't give surprises, take Morvan!
I was scared for Calc and just prayed it wouldn't murder me, but Prof. Morvan was amazing! Her notes and study guides are KEY to exams, and they were super helpful!! Honestly, I wish she'd teach Calc 2!!
Just study the notes in lecture and you should get a B/A. She's very straightforward with the way she teaches and is organized. Tell's you what to expect, which is reflected in her notes for exams.
I think she is probably one of the best math teacher I've ever had. She is really good at explaining why this and that happens while solving a problem. I think Calc is a hard class in general, so students need to spend some time trying to understand the concept, but the teacher makes this class fairly easy because she is very supportive.
She is truly an awesome professor. Her video lectures are clear and she already has the notes laid out for you. Some of the lectures are long tho. She gives an Exam Review packet before each exam which is super helpful! Only thing that takes up a lot of unnecessary time is MyMathLab HW. If you need help try Chegg Study. She answers emails fast.
Love her! Super clear lectures. The MyMathLab homework is so pointless and time-consuming :(( What actually does help is her Exam Review packets. Try using Chegg Study for help on MyMathLab. There are 4 exams & one final. Gives extra-credit beginning of the semester. Very approachable professor. Super organized!
Seriously one of the best math teachers I've ever had in my whole life. I was really scared for Calc, but I ended up getting an A. Go to all the lectures. Do all your HW and quizzes on WebAssign. Don't hesitate to go to her office hours. My tip is to do the exam review twice. Also, it's just like the test; there are no surprises.
Professor Morvan is great and is willing to help you succeed as much as possible. Go to class everyday, do your WebAssign homework/quizzes on time, and don't wait until the last day to do the exam reviews! They're more than 10 pages long. Technically, you don't need the textbook because she has notes that you print out and fill out during class.
I'm glad I took her, coincidentally. She is transparent in grading, fun, approachable, and passionate about the subject that hardly got our passion. Heavy yet helpful homework, useful reviews. Do all and you would pass cuz the exams and final are easier than homework. Go to her for help, she will help you answer, then you can use it to gain points!
Turn and RUN! Min grade for quizzes (or drop). Min grade for exam (or drop). Min grade packet (or drop). No Extra Credit. No drop lowest test score. No test curve. Copy all of her video lecture perfectly or drastic point reduction. Unnecessarily critical grading. Someone who will go out of her way to make your difficult class even more difficult.
This was a tough class! 4 Tests + 1 Cumulative Final that determine the majority of your grade (as well as HW/Notes). Be prepared to print pages and pages of notes. Being a hybrid class, you need to manage your time wisely and keep up with the material on a day to day basis. You can get an A, just requires you to study A LOT. p.s. speed the videos
Such a wonderful professor! She is really caring and willing to explain to you everything in VOH. Kind of hard to get good grades since everything is graded on mymathlab so even you just miss a small number, you'll be wrong and lose points (but have 2 chances to do quiz so don't worry). In-class exams are exactly the same as those exam reviews!
Homework on web assign is much more difficult than the the examples in class. She seems to do the most basic problems in class and fails to address the more complex problems. Harsh grader; always looking to mark you down on minor notational errors and will go through every step to find mistakes regardless if your overall answer is correct
Lots of web assign hw that was so annoying but that's expected for upper level math classes. She was the best math professor I've ever had- she really works hard to make you understand the lecture information clearly and deeply. Sure it's a LOT of work but its calc!!! Put the effort in and you'll be rewarded. Study a lot, ask questions, keep up! :)
This professor knows her material. Her lectures are detailed to the T, and if you find yourself struggling, she will make sure to go over the material very meticulously. Only thing is you gotta work hard --TEST HEAVY-- because she does NOT curve. I got A's in all my exams, but got a C on my Final which dropped me to a B. I blame COVID, not her.
I've never received a grade less than an A in a math class, it's the only thing Im good at. I've received 2 D's on tests because her homework is much harder than her class work and the homework fails to prepare you for the exam. Shes an extremely harsh grader and is looking to take points off for any little thing, even if you get the question right
Extremely annoying Professor, Yes her lectures are decent, however during covid she makes you do 30 min videos (5 times) for ONE lesson. I have never had a more time consuming class, more frustrating class, and worst of all a class that I regret taking. You miss ANYTHING that was due and she wont care for the situation. Do not take this Prof
Prof Morvan was by far the best calc teacher I have ever had! It wasn't easy, but no calc class is going to be easy. Her lectures were clear, and the exams were just like the exam reviews. She was very accessible outside of class, and wants you to pass her class. She is the best calc teacher at Cypress and I recommend you take her!
I thought she would only get 1 out of 5 as she never give us one class only videos online. 6 exams. Minus many points . Tough grades. Learn by yourself. Therere 20-22 students then only 8-9 students at the last exam. 60% of students drop off the class! Crazy. Right?
I took her hybrid class. Too much assignments. I especially hate "COPYING" notes for grade; it was super useless and waste so much time. Math is interesting, but not this class. Take another class if you are good at math.
All of her lectures were prerecorded, which sucked. Not how I learn. Incredibly hard class
One of the slowest talkers in the world, having all these prerecorded videos that last for 1+ hours. 60+ page packet every unit, takes away 0.5/1 point for having an equal sign???, and the course is basically self-learn.
Really test-heavy class, web assign homework basically every other day along with quizzes. lectures are pre-recorded online and on average an hour or even longer per video per lesson, and her grading for tests look like professor is LOOKING to take off points. And all work must be done exactly as was done in the lectures as well, no exceptions
Worst class of my life. Never in my life have I struggled so hard for some trigonometry more than this. Professor Morvan made it even harder. Lectures were made at the same time the pyramid was built. Lectures didn't even cover half of what's on the exam. If you are taking this course online, Don't.
Preaches about not giving a lot of work to keep you busy, then gives work like if your not an adult with a busy life of work, other classes, and real life. For one assignment you have to watch about 2 hours of notes, about 10 pgs. of written notes, then 5 pgs. written hw, then online hw and quiz. About 3x a week. Then about 20 pgs. for reviews.
Homework is due almost every other day including quizzes which you cannot even access until you complete 80% of the homework. You copy down pages of notes that aren't even helpful for the homework or quizzes nor the exams and on top of that are still required to remain in the course. She doesn't grade all notes but picks at random on exam dates.
Morvan's 150 Class was listed as in person, but it was far from that. The only days you show up are test days, and the rest of the time you are watching 2 hour lectures and doing homework/tests based off a 100 dollar course that you have to purchase. You can't do anything digitally, and will end up printing 50 pages of paper (literally) per chapter
So much work with little to no guidance at all. On average, a week, you need to watch around 6 hours of prerecorded lecture videos, take 35 pages of handwritten notes, complete 5 pages of handwritten homework problems, along with online assignments and quizzes for each chapter (60 homework, 30 quiz problems). You only go to class to take the exams.
An incredibly harsh grader, will not give any partial credit unless the answer is nearly perfect, and 90% of her lectures are simpler than the homework. Must print around 300 pages and pay for a useless $120 minimum subscription service to access homework. You pretty much teach yourself as she makes you copy and paste her not-so-useful notes
I personally found the class quite annoying. The amount of paper we used seemed quite unnecessary considering the fact that the whole course revolves around a packet. I was hoping to be able to use the tablet that I had, but she is quite picky about it and only allows notes to be done by hand and on paper. There needs to be flexibility.
Her Exams are very fair and are very easy. She even made a very helpful note packet! I'm so glad I took her! The best professor ever!
Before, I had always struggled with math during my time in high school. Professor Morvan's lecture videos helped me understand the material I was learning and filled in gaps in my memory. She was always helpful during her office hours, and I could always rely on her to explain something I didn't understand. Also, her guitar playing skills are Fire.
I cried everyday because of this class and my mental health deteriorated at an alarming rate. Is not flexible at all, avoid her at all costs unless you're only taking this course. If you have a life at all, you will struggle VERY MUCH. Not friendly for working students.
She made a significant effort to be available to students who needed help with the lessons, something I took for granted. There is A LOT of homework and tests and her lectures are YT videos. Great lessons, easy to understand, but sometimes it felt like the homework wasn't covered in the lessons. One of the best professors I've had at Cypress.
She tried to help students, but it does not help much since the due date for homework and quiz were likely every days. You just have enough time to watch videos, do HW to submit, then, your exam is coming. Class were not designed for working people. The class supports to be in-person, but you just come to class just for first day, and exam days.
She is very good at making herself available to students, but as other reviews have said it is very time intense, I would recommend her ESPECIALLY if you're going into STEM, because if you REALLY want to understand these concepts that STEM fields will cover, the time intensity is justified, maybe don't take if your major stops at calculus for math
