First and most important English college class I ever took, made English 102 a breeze. Professor R is the best, you sorry suny fools!

The structure of the class was very organized, well-thoughtout, and planned. This made the enviroment in the classroom very comfortable and full of learning possbilities and challenges.

Hands down the greatest english teacher i've ever had. She's extremely tough on your writing, but if you listen and work, you will learn. Great attitude, very smart person. She's written about 9999 books. Search amazon for her name.

She's a fantastic teacher, and I learned a lot from this class. Very understanding and sympathetic, and very smart too, so don't try to put anything past her. Attend class, and don't be late, since she locks the door once class starts. Pay attention and participate, and you'll do well. FYI, she's extremely anti-wikipedia. :-P

excellent professor and her lectures were well organized. She presents the material so that students understand it clearly. She is funny and likes to crack a few jokes while she lectures. Dr. Rozakis truly is one of the best educators I've ever had. You can just tell that she loves what she's doing and it makes the class all the more interesting. She comes with some credibility also, considering all of the books she's written and awards she has received. She really takes the time to get to know her students, whichIthoughtwasgreat2.

She is kindhearted and funny lady but she has some high standards. you cant be late cause she locks the door at like 9:31. i swear all my test i got a D or C on them. i think she expects us to be on her level on writing. But she lets you rewrite papers if you got a bad grade and the final is a research paper.

shes a cool ass teacher if u rub her the right way. if you make it out of her class you can pretty much make it out of any ENG course shes tough for a reason because shes teaching you how to be a college student teachers dont always grade you based on your work they also grade you on attendance and personality which she enforces thoroughly

Great Professor! You will learn a lot of useful information. All writing assignments are design for professional application, no nonsense re-writing books! It was not an easy class, but it was worth it. If you are looking for an easy A- don't take it. If you want to learn how to write professional letters and advance your career- you MUST take it!

She's great. Very real and personable. The class can be very demanding, but as long as you do what she asks and show up to class you should be fine.

Shes pretty tough and its hard to get a good grade but you will definitely learn a lot. The class is geared to the real world and business writing so its not that bad.

Probably one of the best classes I've ever taken. She's one of the few teachers around that has a true passion for the subject and can also present the material to you in a way that makes sense. She lets you redo assignments, she helps you with research, and she hardly assigns any homework. Definitely recommended!

to all the ENG101 people that are complaining: get over it, welcome to college. She's a good professor and she opens your eyes to different viewpoints. you don't have to agree with her, just understand what shes saying and take it for what it is. She doesn't discriminate if you disagree.

Dr. Rozakis is one of the best teachers at Farmingdale. She teaches a skill set that will be used over and over again in all aspects of business and life. Dr. Rozakis's efforts to pass on her endless knowlege of communication whether by speech or writing is worth a hundred times more than anything else you will learn in college.

Great prof! Learned more than just about technical writing. Tough on grading but always gives you a fair shot ( you can rewrite anything after she checks and grades it) enjoyed the class and she keeps it interesting. Very nice just don't be late.

Dr R is anything but rude; it's called constructive criticism kid, you're in college get used to it. There are no easy As in her courses though, your effort/attitude will reflect your grade. I started with 4 Cs only I didn't cry about it. I worked harder and she helped me. Wound up with an A for the course- you get what you put in. Great teacher

Professor Rozakis is an awesome teacher. She's extremely smart and silly. I had class at 8:00 and she definitely didn't make it boring. Some students think she was a hard grader but you just have to put in effort and show her that your trying and you'll be fine. She helps you SO much when you ask for it.

I hate to write but she gave us fun assignments and 350words/wk most of which was done during the lab class was very easy. you're not in hs anymore so it's time to put in some work

If your interested in making any form of stride to success in life, spend a semester with Rozakis. She will become a mentor & a friend, if you seek the help & work hard. A career in entertainment is not easy to obtain, this blessing of a professor made it possible through her teaching's. The class is moderately difficult but for sure a life lesson.

Dr.R was simply the best teacher I have ever had, she opened new ideas to me, and never steered me wrong. She was strict but extremely helpful. Taking this class really made me feel like I could do anything. The first day of class she made us take eachothers numbers and by the last class, none of us wanted to say goodbye, thanks to her. Very nice teacher. She is extremely helpful, and requires class participation. She is a fairly easy grader, if you give her exactly what she asked for. You just need to show up to class, do the work, and hand it in on time and you'll do fine. Seems to pick favorites, but it's tough to get on her bad side. Overall good experience.

Dr. Rozakis is one of the best teachers I've ever had. Her class was so enjoyable, I did not want it to end. A class that I was certain was going to be boring was the exact opposite. We spoke about interesting topics that related to each lesson. If you need to take an English class, I highly recommend that you choose her class.

Professor Rozakis is an excellent professor. She teaches at a very steady rate but everything builds from class to the next. She is professional and concise for all the right reasons. If you prove to her that you care and put in the effort you will get a good grade. I learned more about writing in this class than any other class.

She knows what she's talking about and super experienced.She's 100% approachable & made it pleasant to go to class. She helped me write my cover letter for an internship I've been anticipating and because of her I got it! 

Anyone that thinks she's a horrible teacher, just don't want to learn. She's very helpful and teaches you the professional way of writing. The material you need in the business world. We had no papers to write, we had assignments every other day and she gave you many chances to have an A has your final grade.

First, let me begin by saying - TAKE HER CLASS. WHAT YOU LEARN THERE WILL BE CARRIED THROUGHOUT YOUR ADULT LIFE! That said, make sure you are on TIME - ZERO TOLERANCE for tardiness. Take her. Seriously. At first you may get papers back with C's, but EVERYTHING can be rewritten, and her comments are really helpful. Honestly one of the nicest professors if you do your work and show up.

I took this class because I thought it would be easy but Dr. Rozakis had us read so many books and write so many papers. We also did a lot of powerpoint and she taught us this thing called Prezi which I used in another class already! I learned so much and read many extra books on my own.

Lots of written assignments, but they are all one page long, so don't be discouraged. No tests at all. She is very clear and well-spoken. She follows her syllabus completely. A lot of people that have had Dr. Rozakis knows that she is a tough grader but she is a phenomenal teacher; one of the best I've had at Farmingdale for sure! She thoroughly explains every topic, and why we are learning it--none of it is irrelevant. A's wont come easy but you'll learn more than you can imagine.

Laurie Rozakis is an incredible teacher. She cares about the students, and wants to help you grow as a person. Be warned; she will grade your submissions harshly, especially on grammar, but it's tough love and you will learn a lot from it. I can not recommend this course strongly enough.

Dr. Rozakis is such a fun professor. She is engaging and cares about her students. If you have an issue or need anything just talk to her and she'll work something out. if you work hard and put the effort in her class is an easy A!

The class wasn't difficult but her grading isn't really that clear. She grades a little too harshly. Also, she doesn't let anyone into her class late. She closes the door at the time the class is supposed to start and you can't come in. There is a lot of reading to do but it is bearable. It was an interesting class overall.

Tough grader and the in class assignments can be stressful. You will learn plenty of useful information for real life use. If you show up late to class she wont let you in so make sure to always email her if you are running late.

Dr. Rozakis is someone I wish I met sooner in my college career. She is extremely knowledgeable, and she cares about her students. Make sure to get to class on time and to put effort into your work. It was truly a pleasure to be apart of Dr. Rozakis' class this past semester! Attendance is important. The work load is reasonable and you are given the chance to rewrite your assignment if needed. Dr. Rozakis is hands down my favorite English Professor at Farmingdale. Her lectures are super engaging and the material was super fun. There are about 4 or 5 papers and a few outside reading group projects (powerpoint slides, not scary!!) EMAIL HER YOUR ROUGH DRAFTS! She will tell you exactly what she likes or doesnt like. The most helpful ever!!

I loved Dr. Rozakis' course. I thought she was a harsh grader, but it was an honest insight into how I could improve my writing. She had presentation-heavy assignments, and I loved being able to show my creativity. She gets a bad rap on this site, but she honestly cares for her students. If you put time and care into your work, you will get an A.
