seems really nice, until you ask her for any kind of understanding, forget it unless you have extensive documentation. interesting lecturer but as for administrating grades, you better be on top of everything.

This is the biggest waste of time ever- but so are most 100 level classes!
So easy. There are some assignments but all really easy. Also there is optional homework. Extremely easy A. Teacher really down to earth, but plan on going to class since she takes attendance.
Damn easy class, but boring and pointless. Helps out the GPA, but on the downside attendance is graded.

she sucks. She doesnt help at all, especially for the ethics class. Her grading is tough. She doesnt try to understand students. NO SYMPATHY AT ALL!!!! And worst of all, her class is boring
Easy A if you go to class..lecture notes online..quizes and exams are easy if u take the notes.
she is very into her job, i love her class, a little boring at times but the work is easy and exams are pretty easy as well... i got a AB but i shoulda got A... messed up on an exam, because it was the first college exam ever!!
Very easy class. Went to class maybe once every 2 weeks and got an AB. All of her notes are online, and the assignments are are submitted through WebCT, so are online quizzes. Very down to earth and it is evident that she enjoys what she is teaching.
Class was easy. All the slides are online so no need to go to class. Quizzes are online and are taken right from the slides. Class was not too boring though so showing up wasn't too bad.
easiest class ever! got an A. Not mandatory to go to class-it's all online. Straight-forward, common-sense knowledge. Take the class for an easy A. She's very nice and tells interesting stories.
Gives you all powerpoint presentations. Hard grader and mandatory attendance policy.
Easy, clear, actual work and assignments, but no tricks
This class is extremely easy! However, she puts a lot of material from the book on the exams... so make sure you buy it or have access to one! Prof. Salame is pretty rude, dont ask her questions because she will snap back some sarcastic rude answer! but at least the class is easy!
supposedly an easy class but i think its gotten harder... she doesnt care about what you think at all. if someone leaves class early she'll yell things at you. dont need to go to class at all, everythings online. and make sure you dont sit in the last two rows, she'll have a fit!
Terrible class. Everythings online but her tests are tricky and she puts stupid random facts on the tests. Not a helpful teacher at all, and could care less about students.

I really liked this class, the lectures were really interesting, and this class is just overall an easy one. no attendance, the quizzes online are pretty simple, and the tests are all found from the notes and the readings. if you do the work, its an easy A
Probably my favorite professor this semester. She has a sense of humor and makes everything interesting, even though law isnt that fun. I didnt have her for 100, but if you didnt do well in the class, its probably your own fault.
Salame makes class interesting. This was one of the few classes I actually wanted to go to this semester. Grading is fair, as long as you study and read the book. And, she's pretty hot, too.
Great prof. very very helpful to students... even while taking tests she'll come over to help/give you hints! explains everything, and actually cares about you doing well! much better than most other prof's
Awesome class. She explains everything very well and gives great examples to make information more tangible. By far my favorite class. You have to go to and pay attention, but if you do you will probably really enjoy it and do very well. Great class with really helpful information for life after graduation.
Great teacher, great class... very dateable by the way guys! Snag her up!
I thought this was a great class. She makes everything very clear and interesting. Its all powerpoint based but she breaks off from it a lot to involve the class. The online quizzes really help your grade, and the exams are easy for the most part. Usually the questions come from what was talked about in class and on the onlines quizzes.
She knows her stuff and teaches it well.

This class was a real breeze, the powerpoints contain all of the important material for tests. She sometimes tries to trip you up on tests with "tricky" questions; however, its nothing too hard to figure out
Laurie rants about the strangest things but shes funny about them. Shes wicked down to earth so u can easily follow what she talks about. This class is one of those courses u just fly through b/c u can seriously miss like 15 classes and still pass with a B since all her test/quiz questions are straight from the powerpoints.
She's one of the greatest hospitality teachers at Umass!
pretty easy class. the notes are all online and the quizzes and tests are pretty much based off of the notes. the class itself isnt that bad because she's a pretty entertaining lecturer and is very funny sometimes. also, she usually finishes pretty early so you almost always get out of class really early
She's goes on super funny rants, and she's lots of fun overall. Super easy, interesting class :-)
DON'T BUY THIS BOOK. NO REASON
Easy A. Went to class 4 times throughout the entire semester and still ended up with a 97 average. No Final which is also awesome. Class is entertaining, but you can more or less use WebCT to pass the class.
Salame is a great professor, and always makes things interesting... though if you get her talking about liquor or poor service, she'll never stop.
easy teacher, nuts about cheating, so if you plan to cheat..not going to happen.. otherwise very good class
I hate this woman. She's the biggest snob and just tells stories the entire class about how she had bad service at a restaurant or hotel and how she embarrassed the person. First and third test is easy but 2nd one is all book. she's a **** with grading. I had an 89.96 and she refused to round it to an A. have fun.
I was expecting this class to be an easy A but it wasn't. I read on here that you only needed to study the powerpoints. Thats incorrect. If you want to get an A in this class you need to read the chapters and attending class helps. The online quizzes are really easy and help. The second exam was ridiculous and I got a 60 on it.So that hurt my grade
She is full of herself & likes to show off.Every class she gives examples of when she went to some place to show that she's been places. She even puts dumb questions about herself on the exams. If you think that she will round your final grade up like any other teacher would then you're wrong.Even if you have an 89.99 she will still give you a B+.
This was a great class. Very easy as well. I ended up with a B+ instead of an A though because I started bringing my laptop and bombed the 2nd exam. I ended up with an 88 and she wouldn't round it up but I don't necessarily blame her.
Okay buy the book and skim it some of the stuff is on it and GO TO CLASS even tho all the lecutures are online she randomly gives u test ? for those who were only in class would know. its worth it unless you dont mind already being down 6 points. 3tests 80% of grade, 13 online quizzes (20%), 5 points extra credit. you can get an A with a lil effort
Interesting Class. Made me consider becoming an HTM major. Great teacher and is never boring.
I took this as one of my electives. I like her as a teacher but the material got boring. I hate how she refuses to round up grades. Doing the last exams bored me to tears. I'm so glad to be done with the class. She did take the class to foxwoods casino and did give us 3% extra credit. casino hold, drop, and win just gets unbearable after a while.
Laurie is full of herself. You don't really need to go to class, but prepare for tests with book. Material is pretty basic but gets boring after a while. The TA was helpful. Test questions sometimes include things only people that go to class would know.
i took this as an elective. she is boring, not funny at all, the only thing that was good about this class was the trip to Foxwoods, also she doesnt round up even 89.5 to a 90... very strict on grades. you'll definitely fall asleep because she just reads the powerpoint the whole class.
Very experienced in the Hospitality industry. While she does read right off the PowerPoints she has an interesting story to go with almost everything, good sense of humor... You need the book and to attend class if you want an A, otherwise you can easily get a B.
If you pay attention in class, especially to her examples, and study for the test, you will do fine. Just make sure you are actually paying attention-- she takes attendance and will randomly call on people. You had better know what the question is if she asks you...
didnt go to the class once and got a b. I suggest to actually buy the book if you want an a, probably could have gotten at least an a- if I had that. just study powerpoints and online quizzes for exams.
class is not that bad, since it's a 100 level. salame has problems though, thinks she's all that because she's a professor... likes embarassing you every chance she gets.

If you're considering majoring in HTM, you should transfer out of UMass because your experience with this lady will ruin your future. I really mean it.
Easy 1st and 3rd exam. Hard 2nd exam. Does not all any sort of makeup.
this was the only class I didn't get an A in last semester because this lady tests you on useless information such as "what is her favorite city?" and things you would need to know by attending class, which is difficult because it is hard to stand that woman talking about herself for an hour. unfortunately it is required for htm majors.
Easy A. go to class, read the text chpt before the online quiz. thats it. no homework, do it if its your major (empty credits otherwise)
Laurie is a great professor. She is very experienced in the industry and uses those experiences as examples for explaining her powerpoints in a very clear and concise manner. Great professor!
Professor Salame is one of the best professors I have had here are UMass. I've had her for 2 classes and have done very well in both. She clearly presents information in well formatted and easy to understand power points, she is always available to help, and if you attend class, it's really easy to do well.
She makes you earn your grade, but she cares about teaching you. She may come off strong, but she means well. She tries to gain respect by being strict, but if you know her outside of class, she's a real sweetheart.
this woman is a good teacher, however she is the biggest **** i have ever met in my life. she is extremely rude when correcting homework. her comments are so bad. she is mean, strong, and ****y 24/7.
If you go to class you can probably get an A easily enough, but the class can be incredibly boring, rumor has it she will be requiring prs next semester, so be ready to have to go to class.
Really easy class, Laurie is really into what she is teaching and she can be rude at times but overall she's alright. Don't bring your cellphone to class she'll call you on it... incredibly annoying! Also just go to class when its rainy or sunny extra points for when there are under 100 people there!
Go to class because you'll never know when she will give EC questions for the exams! No hws, easy quizzes and semi easy tests. READ and memorize the book and mostly notes if you want to do real good on her exams!
Possibly one of the easiest classes if you actually try. I basically did nothing the entire semester and ended up with a B-. It would be an easy A if you actually went to class and studied from the book.
Overall easy class but she is very annoying and rude.
She's funny when she teaches and its a really easy class
Enjoyable law class. Exams are somewhat tough, study the notes and some questions from the textbook. Go to class, questions on exam from lectures.
Class is easy, all notes are accessible on SPARK. She uses PRS but it only counts for 5% of your grade. If you go to class you'll be guaranteed an A.
Don't take this class for an easy A because it's not worth it. she makes the exams tricky to make up for the fact no one pays attention in class and just talks over her.
Don't talk in her class (or break any of her other many ridiculous rules) unless you're prepared to be humiliated in the middle of a large lecture hall. Her exams can be pretty tricky. It can also be very hard to pay attention in class, with everyone talking. Not really worth going though, because notes are online and PRS is only worth 5 or 6%
As a teacher, she's okay. As a person, she is SO annoying. I hate the fact that she uses PRS because you have to go to class. I'm an HTM major, love the field, but sometimes she makes me want to switch out. She treats her kids like HS students, "no cell phones, no laptops..". Exams can get tricky which is annoying, but all the notes are online.
She is very instightfull and has lots of experience in this field. I went to every class because it was fun learning. However don't think her tests will be easy. I got C's on both of them even though I reviewed all of my notes. I would recommend her.
She's really nice. The material is interesting. She can get annoying sometimes cause she likes to hear herself talk... The exams appear easy but they're actually harder than you think.
Professor Salame is very knowledgeable in the field. She engages the class with questions as well as PRS. She uses trick questions on her quizzes and exams, so be careful with that. I always went to the T/A for help as I didn't feel comfortable approaching her. I honestly am reluctant to recommend her.
Easy A or B. All you have to do is attend class (she uses PRS), pay attention, and take the quizzes which are online. She posts the notes online. Everything on the exams are pretty much straight from the notes she gives.
easy easy easy A! Laurie is very energetic and I found her quite entertaining. if you're an htm major, sit closer to the front. many people take the class as a joke and just talk through out the entire time. online 5 question quizzes after classes! prs used in class, easy point!
She is a a nice and fun teacher and really cares about her field, HTM. it's a pretty easy class, go to lecture, take notes, do the Iclicker questions. There are short little quizzes online which are pretty easy. The exams however aren't as easy you think, they're mostly from the notes but she always throws some tricky questions on there.
Great professor! Really knows her stuff and enjoys her field and has a sense of humor. Takes what could be a very dry subject and makes it interesting. Text is hardly necessary, as she has detailed powerpoints that she posts online.
Very funny, entertaining, messes with students and keeps class entertaining! LOVE IT hope I can get another class with her later on!
Extremely SUBJECTIVE grading, which as you can imagine could be against you in a detrimental way if you don’t play the game correctly. Laurie is disrespectful to students(of all ages)& is unapologetic for it. Over-achieve & take this course by itself in Summer/Winter semester so you can devote your life to it. That’s what she’ll be expecting.
She likes to scream into her microphone a lot but really easy class, if you actually study the powerpoints she puts online you'll do real well
Laurie is my favorite professor at UMass and the original reason why I became a HTM second major. She's really energetic and one of the most knowledgeable professors in the HTM department. Homework in this class is key, make sure you do all the homework and study for the tests and you'll be fine. this is one of the best classes I have ever taken
She is very interesting and often times comical. The class is very easy but pretty much mandatory based on the iclicker which counts for an attendance grade. The reading is not as important becaus she basically just tells you what you read in class. Only issue is you can NOT use technology in her class or she will call you out.
Really knowledgeable professor in HTM. She's had a lot of field experience so knows exactly what she's teaching. Sometimes her classes would seem to drag since they're 75 minutes long, but she kept it interesting. Attendance is mandatory because of iClicker. Quizzes online are SO easy but exams can be ALITTLE tricky if you don't read the book.
Professor Salame was by far the best professor I had this semester. I loved the class and loved her! Knew a lot about HTM and cared about it too. Class was easy with online quizzes after each chapter. Exams are fair but you have to study. Iclicker counts as part of your grade. Overall a great, fun, and exciting class even if you're not in HTM.
Great teacher. Go to class, pay attention, and participate. Try to get to know her too..it helps. Use the iclicker and do the quizzes. And read the textbook! Its helpful for not only the class, but your career!
I loved her. She rambles, but it's fun to listen to. She has so much info and experience in the field. Attendance def helps-iclicker question every class for credit. EASY online quizzes after each chapter and 3 tests that you have to study for. Her ppts are helpful but I suggest reading esp for tests. Participate!
Hands down the best professor at UMass, and also one of the most entertaining people I have ever met. She's not the easiest professor but I have learned more from her classes than any other. I LOVE THIS WOMAN
Extremely difficult teacher! Exams contain material NEVER taught in class. Wont let you use laptops or electronic devices in class. She showed an interest in the subjects, but completely turned me off to joining the HTM major!
Laurie was always very enthusiastic about HTM and has so much experience in the field. Her lectures were clear and she tried her best to keep class interesting. Exams were not too bad and were scaled if the class did poorly. I studied for 3-4 hours for each test, and I got an A.
Annoying teacher. Do not take as an elective. If you go to class and take the notes you aren't even rewarded because she asks questions on one caption in the book. 90% of the material you review isn't even on the exams. Has personal interest in the subject, but her attitude towards students is demeaning. BUY THE BOOK.
Amazing class. Laurie is informative and always very engaging with firsthand experience and stories about the industry. I do not understand the negative reviews at all. Class is easy as long as you review the powerpoints and skim over the chapters from the book before exams. You'll easily get an A if you put in the effort.
Laurie is an awesome professor. She is so full of knowledge and experience and she's passionate about what she teaches. She's easily my favorite professor here at UMASS. Her class is mandatory and there are 3 exams. The exams are a very fair assessment given they are everything you will cover in class. Study the notes and it's an easy A.
Loved Laurie, she has a awesome personality. Class is straightforward, do the reading and you'll get an A.
Loved Laurie! She made this class so interesting! Ended up with an A, but it took extra work than just going to class. Absolutely recommend to people interested in business or HTM.
Buy the textbook, and pay attention to details. Class is boring most of the times i just went for iclicker grade. She tries to trick you on the exams. Very irrelevant questions on exams. She will not round up your grade even if you are .33 point below an A. Doesnt really care about the student.
Extremely hard class. She's wise and accepting of others opinions, but very specific with her work Eg. In an exam she will ask for the definition within the definition within that definition. Had to do alot of reading and meeting up with other classmates and the professor. Prepare yourself. Take the other class with a diff professor if u want an A
This class was an easy A. Just read and pay attention. She is very enthusiastic and fun!
Professor Salame is an exceptional professor. She was the one to inspire me to join the hospitality major. She gives online quizzes, three tests (lets you skip ones that you can make- up at the end of the year), iclickr questions (lets you miss 10 QUESTIONS, not lectures. About 2-3 questions per lecture), posts her powerpoints to moodle.
The syllabus is so simple: 14 on-line quiz, 4 extra quizzes, three exam each is 25%, and 5% i-clicker attendance. But the points is the grading is so makes no sense. And the exam is so tricky, you have to read the textbook in every words and every sentences. If you get a 89.99, your grade is still B+, she will never round the grade up.
Former lawyer who no longer practices, but now teaches. Definitely a tough grader. She asks you to apply what you've learned using the legal terms used thus far; however, it is no good enough. I hated this class for that reason. It was a required class for my major and i'm not going to be a lawyer.
She treats you as if you are not grown adults. She's absolutely annoying and like the way she approaches problems reminds me of a moody woman. If you can deal with that, read the book, and go to class you will most likely do well but she is almost unbearable.
One of my favorite professors in the department. Really cares about her students and helping them succeed. She is so funny and will tell a lot of stories. She is a tough grader and doesn't pretend to be easy. Will not round your grade even .01. Offers lots of opportunities to increase your grade, though.
Not a hard class. Show up, read the book and complete all of the online quizzes. Grading is very clear and she does not allow any technology in the classroom.
You have to show up for class for iClicker points and there is no technology allowed, but I honestly didn't mind because she shares hilarious stories relating to the material. She's one of the reasons I'm an HTM major. You do have to read the book, but as long as you do that and follow along in class it's an easy A.
Class requires an i-clicker so either show up to every class and answer the questions she has with the i-clicker or have your friend be a champ and do the clicks for you. Textbook is NOT needed.
She tends to give out quizzes almost weekly. All online, so it is still pretty easy. All logical stuff you should know.
good lecturer kind of hard to get an A helps if you ask for help
If you pay some attention in class, and READ THE BOOk you will do very well. She can be a little tricky on the tests and ask very specific (almost trivia-like) questions, which can be annoying. Her lectures last an eternity, and can be extremely boring. Just read the book, go to class, do the online quizzes, and click in the iclicker.
She is so nice and tries to keep lectures interesting. You have to go to class because of iclicker attendance. You should study hard for the exams because they really do have a lot of information on them. Other then that it was really easy. I didn't do much work for it and got an A. She gives out extra credit quizes too which is nice.
Laurie is a great professor! She makes sure everybody is engaged in the material. Attendance is not mandatory but she uses the iClicker and those are easy extra credit points. Make sure you don't forget to do the timed online quizzes.
Her class is easy to get you bored. And she never know to finish the class early if there's nothing valuable to say in class. The class is mandatory. No round-up grading. The tests are not easy. No electronic devices use in class.
Laurie is a very clear professor. You get three exams, online quizzes, and attendance counts towards your grade. She tests you more on if you read the book than if you were paying attention in class, but overall the class isn't hard if you can focus long enough to get through the textbook. Her lectures can drone on, but she tries to make them fun.
Overall I thought it was an easy class. You have 3 exams, online quizzes, which most of the answers are online, and Iclicker questions ( based on participation) as your grade. If you read and take notes on the chapters and study, you will easily pass the exams. It does take a little work for this class, but it's an easy A if you put in effort.
Such an easy class. powerpoints are posted online and you will do well if you just make flash cards, no need to go to class except for iclicker which is 5% of grade. straightforward class definitely an easy A with little/no effort
The first part of the class is very bland and boring. It is hard to pay attention. The class gets better as the semester goes on. The tests are tough but once you know the format it makes them easier.
Laurie is an EXCELLENT professor! She makes her exams count for a huge chunk of the class (75%) so be sure to study those. More difficult than her 100 class but she makes class interesting and she is very knowledgeable on subject matter. Definitely take 320 with her if you want a class that doesnt put you to sleep.
Loved her!! I would definitely take her again. She gives positive feedback and is readily available.
Professor Salame is by far the best teacher I've had thus far at UMass. You must go to class in order to receive participation credit through iclickers. As long as you show up and listen to the lecture (which is pretty easy to do since she keeps it engaging) you'll pass! Read the book if you need a review before the test. No need to study. Easy A.
DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK!! The PPTs are literally just the textbook and she posts them online. I got a 50% on iClicker Attendance and still got a 98 in the class. Exams are super easy if you follow the PowerPoints. Weekly quizzes in Moodle based off the PPTs, 3 exams that are easy af. EASY A FOR ANY MAJOR
Very easy class. Three exams that are all multiple choice/ T or F, iclicker attendance and online quizzes. The lectures can get very boring but as long as you review the slides the quizzes and exams are easy. She also offers extra credit quizzes to raise your grade.
The class is super easy to pass. I took the class online and the set up got old fast. Each week you'd have to "read" the chapter, post a discussion, reply to two classmates and then take a quiz. I didn't feel like I was receiving my money's worth and on top of that there was no rubric for the discussions. She'd take points off with no explanation.
Professor Salame makes her exams harder than they need to be. Additionally, she was completely non-accommodating about her extra credit. She requires you to leave Amherst to inspect a restaurant, and when I asked if I could stay in Amherst (because I don't have a car) she wouldn't even consider it. Her exams are tricky for no good reason.
This class is a fine class, however the length of the class is too long. The prof is a little wacky, and the subject is very boring so if you aren't interested in HTM don't take this class. Attendance is mandatory, didn't use the textbook. Easy A as long as you pay attention. Honestly don't bother if you can avoid taking this class.
worst HTM professor I wish I took the other htm320 Prof even though it was earlier in the morning would've been so much more worth it
Laurie is a great professor and teachers a wonderful class. I would highly suggest her and this class. Lecture based following an online 5 question open book quiz with the opportunity for extra credit. Exams were very easy as long as you go to class and take the quizzes. iClicker is used for attendance points. Don't buy the textbook and an easy A.
I really enjoyed this class and the prof. She was very positive, nice, and engaging. The class is pretty easy if you put in a little effort. Pre-recorded lectures posted every week, and the content was then reviewed with in-class activities. Exams and quizzes aren't bad and there are extra credit quizzes. 3 easy assignments. Great intro to HTM!
Lots of lectures to watch but she gives you a lot of time to get work done. Quizzes and test questions are worded weirdly a lot.
The quizzes and tests have questions that are worded weirdly with no clear answer.
Prof. Salame is an amazing professor. I enjoyed her class very much and wish she taught more HTM classes. I didn't buy the textbook for the class and didn't need it at all to pass.
I absolutely love this class. Her lectures are really informative and funny, and she posts the slides ahead of time. The quizzes are not very often, and they are open note. She gives you a clear study guide of what you need to know for the exams. The textbook was only $10.
She embodies the hospitality industry, so if you don't like Laurie, change your major. The class is a bit basic and relatively boring, but an easy A as long as you pay attention and do your quizzes on time. Super flexible about exam schedule.
Laurie is very sweet and represent what the hospitality industry is all about. I took this class at 8am and I would recommend taking it later in the day because it can get boring. Although boring at times, it is a super easy class and as long as you read, do the quizzes on time, and go to lectures you'll be fine.
The lecture dragged on for most of the time since it was an hour and 15 minutes. Textbook isn't really needed for the exams, just pay attention to the lectures. 4 major assignments throughout the semester that didn't take long to complete and there were quizzes after each chapter which also don't take long to complete. Fairly easy class overall.
She is very helpful and kind. Very knowledgeable, and you should go to classes if you can. She uses an old version of the textbook so it is relatively inexpensive. Definitely recommend her HTM100 class
Professor Salame is extremely upbeat & positive and manages to make boring material pretty interesting. 3 exams that are easy to do well on if you study your notes, and one weekly assignment. She cares a lot about her students and just wants to see everyone do well and take something away from the class
Took this class for Management 260. Good teacher and some topics were more interesting, but the lectures weren't bad. Don't need to buy a textbook and can do good on exams as long as you show up to class. Good teacher overall.
Every class is just her lecturing about things that are 99% common sense. You could probably pass the class without going to a single lecture but she's super cool and very talkative so they're pretty interesting.
She is nice and very inspirational. Her exams are a bit tough though, you would have to study every single thing on the slides and you better study them well because she'll be stirring up the words and playing with your brain. She has an optional final exam if you aren't satisfied with your grade and you wanna bring it up. I got it from B+ to A-
She's very understanding and truly loves the industry, also very helpful to explain concepts during tests or quizzes.
Professor Salame's HTM100 is a straightforward class. With engaging lectures, flexible assessment, and optional textbook, the course provides an easy A. Using unstuckstudy alongside the provided resources can further boost your success.
My favorite professor. She is so passionate about what she teaches, and I admire her deeply! Also very understanding and fair.
Definitely take Lori for 100 if you have an interest in hospitality. She's super engaging and really cares about her students. HW consists of quick online quizzes and four straightforward assignments throughout the semester. Test questions are sometimes a little niche but it's multiple-choice so if you make an educated guess you should be fine
Laurie is wonderful. She cares a lot about the industry. Her lectures are super interesting. Attendance is counted through top hat but she gives you a lot of free absences. No computers/phones allowed in class. Assignments, quizzes, and exams are really easy. Super interesting course whether you're in HTM or not (I am not). Highly recommend Laurie!
Boring, tiring, long lectures. All common knowledge, she reads off slides, the only fun part were the TopHats (an app that does a poll for you to answer during class to track your attendance). Super easy exams, quizzes were mostly easy, doesn't show what you got wrong and she won't tell you either. Same for exams.
Laurie was a very good professor. The exams had some weird wording but were overall self explanatory and easy if you studied the textbook along with her notes that she provided on canvas so you didn't have to take notes during class.
Lectures were LONG and boring. Exams had difficult wording but overall doable.
Awful. Not a very nice professor, not willing to help students.
Laurie is SO nice, i really enjoyed htm100 with her. attendance mandatory with tophat but only 5% of your grade. 3 in person multipole choice exma but so easy. take this class for a fun and interesting 3 credits
She loves to talk and has a real passion for the industry. Make sure you take notes on her slides and study for exams because her exams are LONG and reference random material from lectures. If you go to class and take notes you'll get an A. Barely any homework and she assigns reading but you don't really have to do it.
is very laid back w/ attendance and making up exams but doesn't accept work late and no laptops in class. attendance is "mandatory" through tophat but worth a very low percentage of ur grade. lecture HEAVY and hard not to fall asleep. nice lady overall but class is boring and feels so long. don't buy texbook the slides are all you need.
This class was a great introduction course for HTM. I had this class at 8:30am and it was a great start to my day.
Very lenient on attendance, grade is mainly composed of three main exams. As long as you read or attend lectures, this will be very straightforward. The content is very hospitality themed and she is very energetic, and clearly a pro at this. No phones or electronic devices, but very participatory based lectures. very energetic person!
