By far my favorite professor at UCF. She is more than willing to help anyone and is fair but also has her favorites. Always light hearted and class is usually quite enjoyable. I've had classes with her the last two semesters and I enjoyed them so much I changed my class around specifically to take her again. Classes are challenging though.
Dr. George has a great sense of humor and cares about her students. Class is very interesting. She sets high expectation for her students. She want students to do well on exams but also know how to apply course content to real life scenarios. Attend class and read book for exams. Tests does require knowing course content. Recommend for capstone.
She was okay. She was clearly knowledgeable about the material, but she chose to cover each topic in class very briefly. She shows tons of YouTube videos, and we did something different in class every day. Class participation is crucial. Her exams are pretty tough. It's an absolute must to read the book.
Took for GEB3031L, MAN4600 and MAN4240. Very clear on all assignments and cares about her students. Dr. DeGeorge is knowledgable, helpful and by far the best professor I've had at UCF. She is so helpful and I still go to her office for assistance and I'm not enrolled in any of her classes this semester. TAKE HER! Best professor ever!
Worst professor I've ever had. Terrible speaker, annoying personality, ridiculous grader. For the presentations she never gave any group above a 92, which makes it pretty hard to get a 93 for an A in this plus minus scale class. Take ANYONE else.
Stay away from her. She's the worst grader, and makes everything extra difficult. I took her for Performance Management and there was never a clear rubric for her projects.
Run far away, unless you have to take this class. She is a very tough grader. Almost impossible to receive an A, thus her work criteria is very high. She makes this class harder than it really is. Attendance is MANDATORY. Textbook is required for your success in the class because questions on the exam that she doesn't go over in class/pwrpoints
De George is a gem. Can't believe anyone has anything negative to say of her. She gives extremely clear-STEP BY STEP-rubrics&assignment sheets, and will always discuss assignment specifics. Her exam questions are situational, but if you listen to her lectures you will know the answers. She cares, so you have to show up. Never opened the book. #Fav
She is great! Yes, she is a tough greater, and her tests are harder than other teachers in the college but her classroom is the best at UCF! She brings real situations, humor and even Escape Rooms to help illustrate course concepts. I highly recommend her. Be prepared to work, this isn't your normal coast through class, its take control DRIVE!
I took her for the capstone lab.
Overall she is a great professor who doesn't use boring PowerPoints. There are lots of group activities and demonstrations to show the course concepts but you have to read the book and use her study guides in order to do well on her exams. You definitely can't slack if you want an A but it's a good class and you'll learn a lot.
Took her for both Teamwork&Collab as well as this class. She makes class interesting but you have to go to class to actually do well. Also reading through the book along with the study guide will make exams go well for you. The team project sucks but there's extra credit opportunities and its overall a fun class.
Best professor in the COBA. Each class is like a performance for her, which makes students a lot more engaged than in an average class. The papers she assigns are very long and tedious, however. She shows lots of funny videos that are related to course content. Textbook is not necessary, and tests are not too bad.
By far the most difficult class I have taken in the college of business. The exams are pretty tough and the group projects are extremely lengthy (40 pages!). De George makes it bearable through her bad jokes and interactional lectures. I would definitely take her gain because I truly believe I learned a lot in this class.
Dr. De George wants her students to pass. Class was very easy. Exams are 50 questions. She tells you exactly what material to study. Make sure you don't miss any assignments, it will impact your grade at the end of the semester. Easy A.
Easy class to pass! Just do the assignments, attend the two mandatory classes, and some extra credit. Just make sure you get the points you need to pass.
I wouldn't mind paying for the textbook she wrote herself if it wasn't FULL of simple grammatical errors. But grammar sure matters when it comes to your group paper, look over all your teammates work before submitting. Some of the test questions are ridiculous, make sure you take notes on the activities you do/videos you watch in class. Examshard.
If I had a shot for every grammatical error in her book, I'd be wreckedddd
Theres a group project that has to be about 40 pages long, a group presentation, and an individual essay that has to be 10-12 pages long. Her exams are sooo hard and she tests you on specific things that each group did in class. So take notes on class activites. And her book is full of typos but grades the paper super hard on grammar. 3 exams total
If you want an A in this class you better be ready to practice witchcraft. She seriously ruined a few peoples 4.0 GPA with her impossible exams. Idk in what world going to every class, taking vigorous notes, reading the entire textbook, and studying like mad isn't enough to get an A on an exam, but welcome to her world. There's no +/- grades either
She is kind and caring, but her exams and coursework are terrible. Study guides are inaccurate to the content on exams, and rubrics are necessary but not sufficient for what her unrealistic expectations are on projects. Her (expensive) textbook, ppts, and even exams are full of typos. If you work extremely hard, you are likely to get only a B.
I love this teacher! She's caring and goes out of her way to help her students. I would definitely take her again in a heartbeat. Her lectures are great and the group classwork is fun! She always makes us think outside the box and makes learning fun and exciting. There are usually 3 easy assignments due every week & She even offers extra credit!
If you haven't taken MAN 3025 with her yet, you're in for something.... different. The best way I can describe this is that it makes you feel like your in middle school. The 6 classes you attend you do things like building a fort or dropping an egg. Vocab term memorization heavy. Do that and you'll be fine
This Class is awesome if you want to learn the best way to be a manager, i really liked the videos that the professor does for each chapter and love how the course is setup. Watch the videos, read study guide and book etc. and you'll do Great!
While I finished with an A, this class was a joke. And not a funny one. There were typos everywhere, including on EXAMS. The homework is due at 9 am on Friday which is important. Do it on Thursday its easy. The class itself isnt awful but she is. Shes a robotic professor with clearly practiced lectures. Glad I wont see more of her performances.
Professor was very nice. The homework had multiple attempts. You need to understand how to apply the concepts instead of remembering the definition for the exams. Watch the videos!
Lack of empathy and compassion
Was not prepared for online learning this year due to Covid, awfully robotic.
Basically just a bunch of busy work.
Wouldn't recommend.
Another class they force you take that you want get anything from.
Luckily online attendance wasn't necessary.
While this class is easy and somewhat useful, if it wasn't a requirement I most definitely would not have paid hundreds of dollars for 5 months of busy work.
Felt completely thrown together because of COVID, not to her fault but seeing is how prices for classes haven't been reduced, full price should equate to full educational experience.
Just unfortunate.
Assignments are due at 9 AM on a Friday, very annoying.
Easy, like too easy, as in waste of time easy.
Literally zero concern for her students masked with the whole "I'm here for you if you need me!" attitude. Assignments due at 9:00 am, which is just weird. One module was due the morning after Thanksgiving which is extra dumb. Exams due at 11:59 AM notice the AM because not a lot of people did, and can't take the makeup if you timed out of the exam
I have no clue why she has such bad reviews, her class was overall informative and understanding. Herself was very understanding to students, and she LAYED out the class instructions multiple times but nobody listened. The HW and Quizzes being due at 9:00 am on Fridays was annoying. Overall, you can tell she was very passionate in her class.
She does not take the time to reply to students or help in any way. Her lectures are long and boring, filled with with useless information you will never use. I would rather count the ants running around my driveway with a blindfold on than take this class again.
Easy class, just do all homework and assignments ahead of time. Don't stress over exams. She offers some extra credit but not a lot. Attendance for zooms weren't mandatory but not sure if they will change in future semesters.
This class gave me more anxiety than any other... It was a combination of her randomly calling on people in class (sometimes about stuff outside of content), the confusing instructions on papers/assignments, the weird class activities, the over-enthusiasm idk... This course is definitely not for introverts! Exams were tough but doable; study well!
She really tried to make the class during covid but it overall is just a boring class. Easy A if you do all your work. Testing is kind of a pain but she cant control that.
Definitely knows what she is teaching but does not teach it. The class is VERY textbook heavy and if you do not read and take notes you will not learn, which is not my style of learning. The occasional meetings are kind of slow and useless and there are not particular lectures. Homework is a pain, along with occasional essay homework.
Don' t take this class if you don't have to she is the worst professor you could have. First her poorly insane deliverable essays take forever and if you miss the word count automatic zero no exceptions. HW and Test due Fridays early morning doesn't care about you and will fail you if you aren't doing what she says
Another money grab course, plus her cheesy fake smile/ peppy voice is so atrocious. learned nothing new in this class other than to meditate after hearing her talk for an hour, maybe take some advil too.
Took it during Summer B. Lectures were boring and she did nothing but sprinted through the chapters and would always give ambiguous answers when we asked questions. 5 deliverable essays with a min of 750 words, and are due Friday @ 9AM along with hw and quizzes. Exams are manageable but you need to know to apply the concepts well. No extra credits.
There's a reason why she's a professor (and not a very good one at that). To be a business professional as she aspires, you have to show compassion and empathy - something she absolutely lacks. She teaches a course on managing people, but is not even good at managing a class. I would sometimes pray my shuttle crashes rather than attending class.
This class was the dumbest class Ive ever taken. Everything taught in this class could be squeezed into other business classes. I couldnt stand the ALL sessions and I couldnt stand her voice and fake enthusiasm. I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard than her voice again
As a professor, very charismatic and makes class lectures enjoyable. As a human being, terrible. I missed one class due to quite literally having COVID-19 and she would not excuse the attendance points despite providing her and UCF with medical documentation. If you have COVID, go to class and get the attendance points, she does not care.
Loved the ALL Sessions and ToKnight Show Videos. However, those only cover about 10-20% of the material you need to learn in order to ace the exams. The overwhelming majority of the information comes from the textbook. I wish Dr. De George did a little more to actually teach the concepts in the textbook, but it seems you're pretty much on your own.
A very enthusiastic professor but personally, that does not matter if they material given during lectures does not help on exams. Essay questions ontop of 50 question exams, and does not tell you what they are on (not even a hint). Huge final presentation and group project.
Teaches nothing relevant to the exams. Questions are completely random and you're basically given entirely irrelevant "study questions" (which don't relate to the exam at all) through the textbook.
The teacher structured the class terribly. Assignments are due at 7AM which makes it very difficult to plan out your work because you assume that you have the entire day to do it but turns out it was already due in the morning. Given every single other class has a due date at midnight, this is very unnecessary. Overall, a very frustrating class.
She makes assignments due at 9am on Fridays for some reason. Her in class sessions are a joke, I think that she thinks she's making it "fun" but most of the time its just cringe. Hope you don't miss a session for any reason because you will have to write a 12 page makeup assignment. She doesnt go over the chapters so prepare to teach yourself.
This class is very easy to pass and the professor is very nice. The ALL sessions were interesting. She will randomly call a group to answer a paragraph long question in front of the whole class which would give me anxiety, but other than that the class was not bad.
Would I recommend De George as a professor? No. Her REAL classes are pointless nothing that she does helps for test. She doesnt round grades which could be very annoying especially if you end the class with a 89.50+,79.50+, or 69.50+. I havent gained anything from her class. She seems like a decent person but I would say the class is a waste.
Dr. De George REALLY tries to make her class fun, but it ends up being an annoyance. Things like making us make a Tik Tok for an in class assignment and having attendance taken by taking a selfie with a picture of a celeb are honestly unwelcome additions to a normal class. Aside from that, all of the assignments are based around the textbook.
I took this class with professor De George because I had her for a previous management class and connected with her very well. The course material is very interesting and while lectures at time can get a bit boring, she always gets us moving and has fun activities. I could continue to write about her and this course but would go over the word count
She tries to engage the class by randomly calling on someone in front of 200 + students. Sit with people you know if you can or with someone outgoing just in case your table gets called on. If you read a chapter a week and turn in the assignments a day early ( the due date is early in the morning on Friday ) you'll be fine.
Overall, not a hard class by any means, however Professor De George does do some weird things. She is very over the top and kind of try hard lol. Do not miss a REAL class cause the make up assignment is a 10-12 page essay which I have no plans of doing. The activities in class do not really help us understand what we need to know for the test.
The reading wasn't hard and the concepts are really common sense but what I hated doing the most was going to the classes. Each class she had your table do some dumb group task and then write about it in an assignment online where the assignment didn't have text boxes to write the info. The class overall is ok, just get rid of the in-class crap.
Prof. De George has very little resources for her class. No real office hours (appointment only). Videos are not helpful & the Power Points just give definitions of terms while the tests are concept based and confusing. She's a nice person, but not a helpful professor. The worst part is I was excited for the class, but didn't truly learn anything.
This class is fine besides the fact that they provide little guidance on what is expected on the exam. All she refers us to is the textbook software that automatically generates questions from the textbook that do not rightfully prepare you for the exam. I even emailed TAs to ask which concepts are to be expected and was told nothing useful.
I don't get why ppl hate her. I can shut my brain off and relax and take in information in her lectures. You do simple projects- all you have to do is participate- which makes learning simple and fun. I don't understand why one would want to do hard work in every class. She gives us a break. Give her one. She's really nice and tries her best.
I love dr De George. She's one of the nicest, caring professors I have ever had.She truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. From the very beginning, all the assignments are open so you can work ahead and complete them early. She provides clear grading criteria and great feedback. Her lectures are interesting and keep students engaged.
I don't know why there are so many bad comments, Professor DeGeorge is a very nice woman who cares about her students. There are only three short tasks per week and three tests each of 50 questions that are basic reasoning, you only have to study the words, and it gives you 2 hours (a lot of time in my opinion). She is a sweetheart of a person.
The only thing I didn't like was the labs, they were kind of cheesy. Other than that, the class itself is relatively easy. Make sure to attend all labs, or you have a 12-page paper makeup assignment... For exams, just take good notes on the review powerpoints and do practice quizzes. Assignments are due on Friday at 9 am, which is kind of annoying.
She is very nice, but her class structure is awful. The exams are heavily weighted and the questions don't feel like they have a definitive answer, some are common sense, but others could be any answer. Everyone in the class seems to get around an 80% on the exams regardless of how much they study. Getting an A was doable, but tedious.
She's a great professor and wants her students to succeed! Online material was very organized. Idk why people complain about the class activities. Every other class has tedious and difficult labs but hers were chill and easy. Show up, participate, get 100%. An A isn't too hard to achieve if you put in the time to study.
In class activities felt like a waste of time but were easy and free points. Quizzes and other assignments are easy and very light. Study for the exams by taking good notes from the book and watching the ToKnight Show videos she posts. Only three exams, so be sure to do well on all three. One of the easier primary core courses.
If you have any common sense this class isn't an issue but on the first day, I asked if she could reopen the financial aid quiz most professors have because it was due on the Friday of the late drop and I wasn't even in the course canvas till the day after. Homegirl said she "wasn't able to" which we all know isn't true. Just frustrating.
De George is arrogant and acts like she cares but when it comes down to it, she doesn't. She has arbitrary rules and acts fair, but a lot is up to her TAs (who don't even like her and aren't even business majors). Be sure to show up on time or else. The projects are cheesy and not much is learned overall. Watch the videos and cross your fingers.
Just a joke of a class. The professor wastes time and does not allow you to finish the group assignments. TA's are a joke, and the assignments in class are a waste of time and do not relate to managment. She is very unforgiving and offers little to no videos explaining the material. Not a hard class to pass, just a waste of time and effort.
This class wasn't necessarily hard but it felt silly. I feel like I didn't learn much that I will have to apply in my future career. The class activities feel "elementary school esque". Best advice is to do the practice questions before the exams.
She really makes an effort to make class fun and educational. It does come off as silly, but I'd rather hula hoop in class and write reflections on what we did than something actually hard. An actual easy A if you put the effort in. Watch her videos and take good notes on the textbook. That's all you need to do well in her class.
Make sure to attend all sessions which was mandatory. There are session deliverables that are due every Friday at 9am and if you miss it, she will not allow you to submit it. She extends Cengage assignments at the end for other students but will not extend any other submissions even if there was an issue submitting it.
Took Summer B. Homework and assignments were pretty easy. Her exams were the most difficult part of her class. If you look over the book, assignments, her videos, and exam review, you would get at least a B. Her lectures do not help and only watching her videos gives you a vague understanding of the topic, but her videos often turn into ramblings..
She tries to make the class "fun" by making us do activities that are completely irrelevant to what we are learning about. She treats students like we are 5th graders. She may seem nice but I have seen her be passive-aggressive.
she's a nice person, but the class is just a waste of time, ALL sessions are useless, we're basically forced into reading the textbook cuz her powerpoints don't have nearly enough info for exams, and homeworks are due at 9am. the class is easy but i'd rather use the time i spent on something more important.
the main reason i rated her this low is because i just could not stand her. she would act overly nice and positive but you can tell she doesn't really care which got on my nerves. but not a super hard class. use the textbook practice quizzes for exams and you should be fine. homeworks are easy and ALL sessions are simple but annoying and ridiculous
I enjoyed the class. You work with the same group all semester for in-class assignments, an interview, a 20 page paper, and presentation. If your group isn't good it can be very frustrating. There's also an independent project and weekly homework. It's a lot of work. But the professor's lectures are great and prepare you for exams
I'm not sure how a professor can be "too nice", but the people that described her as such are a bit weird, imo. As an accounting major who deals with the boring part of business, I found her to be a breath of fresh air. The class is an easy A. She has extra credit throughout the semester and practice quizzes that helped a lot.
Her class is simple and her ALL sessions are extremely easy. We literally built a tower with marshmallows and noodles the first class. She is very energetic and passionate about her job. Study vocab and review videos for exams and you're good.
This professor makes her lecture videos fun. ALLs feel like you're in kindergarten with the in class activities. Homework was due at 9am every Friday, so make sure you're done before then… and do the practice questions for the exams a bunch of times and you'll do fine.
Tests are worth a lot and put in a little effort and you'll do fine. ALLs felt juvenile but somewhat helped with test material. Don't worry about taking all of the practice questions and just study vocab/skim text book and slides. Questions are simple and it's not hard to get an A. I was pretty close.
A LOT of group work. You're basically in groups throughout the whole semester, which makes it hard to meet other people. The tests are kinda dumb because some questions are solely about participation. One example is we did a small activity about candy, and a test question asked which candy was dated highest. Make sure to study PowerPoints
She's actually a cool professor a little insane at times. The test are relatively easy.
Course is manageable but ANNOYING. Sucks because prof. De George is very nice and caring but just makes everything so tedious. Very corporate vibe. Group assignments were frustrating, I don't believe this class should be so dependent on group projects. Get ready to feel like you're stuck in a loop of her and everyone repeating the same things
She is such a nice person but this class was very annoying/useless. The exams are all conceptual and are so annoying to study for. In class assignments are easy points so make sure you do not miss class. She offers 2 extra credit opportunities so, if you can get Cs on all the exams you will get a B in this class.
The exams can be easy, but you have to study the little details of the class content. All the content is from the textbook, the video isn't very helpful. Classes were easy but not helpful (except the Kahoots). Not the worst Business class, but harder than I thought it would be.
Bad. Just straight bad. Not a single lecture. Everything is textbook. No videos, no notes, the professor is in absolutely nothing. In person classes are doing some random assignment that has nothing to do with management, then being forced to relate the questions to management. Is she a nice person? Yes. Is she a good professor? No.
My favorite class this semester. She's super nice and easy going. Every week is the same work, you read one chapter, one quiz, one or two assignments. It's a super easy class and I actually found it interesting. Her class was a breath of fresh air compared to all other professors. Definitely would take a class with her again!
My favorite class this semester. She's super nice and likeable. Every week is the same work, you read one chapter, one quiz, one or two assignments. It's a super easy class and I actually found it interesting. Her class was a breath of fresh air compared to all other professors. Definitely would take a class with her again!
