He's a great professor. Pretty easy class to go through, but quite fast paced. Not recommended for slow learners.

he's a wacky guy that loves to explain problems that you don't get. lectures are sometimes fast paced, but he tells you when he's collecting hw, if there's a quiz, or test near. do the hw, it helps you study and he gives credit for some assignments

He's a good teacher and makes the math simple and easy. All you have to do is take notes, pass his quizes, and exams. His quizes and exams are easy if you study. If you are having a hard time you can go to his office hours for help. Most of the time I did and I ended up passing the class. He's funny

best math teacher ever... considering its baby math. first day of class he wore a t- shirt that said " i love my attitude problem" totally chill guy. BEST math teacher ever. He is always willing to help students understand the info. I suggest you go to class because he teaches really well. I noticed people would be lost if they didn't come to class. So go to class and do your homework (which he does the next day for you on the board!) and you will get an EASSSSY A.

Mr Brownson was the coolest teacher ive ever had! He made us crack up with his weird comments every day. He wants to help you and he is just the best out there. He is so freakin hilarious and such a great teacher. If youre not good at math, take this class ASAP!

Great Professor. I am in his spr class now. He is the one who can explain math in verbal. He understands why you don't understand. He explains very clear. exams are not hard. Outside the classroom, he is so helpful.

HIGHLY Recommended. I failed calc. the semester before, but now I'm getting an A with this guy. Very consistent teaching style, quizzes and exams were not hard at all. He drops your lowest quiz, and just make sure you do the homework. Funny guy too.

He is a great teacher straight up. I had to withdraw from this class as my algebra is horrible (they need to be good to do this calculus), but it had nothing to do with Larry. Always super helpful and is very consistent and considerate with his teaching. Would recommend this guy if you have to take 115 but make sure you are good at math/calc!

Brownson is a cool guy. The content can be kind of tough, but he is very willing to help you understand. He moves kind of fast in class, but if you ask him to slow down he will. He is overall a very good, attentive math teacher. He's kind of crazy though =] The only downside is that im pretty sure he doesn't wear deodorant.

Took him again for Math119A! He teaches B also. GREAT TEACHING YET AGAIN. If you need to take this class TAKE HIM. You will not regret it. Even if you dislike math, he makes it fun and clear as possible. It's a hard subject but one of the easiest and helpful teachers out there for math. I wish all math teachers were this good :)

He's really funny and likes to make really random jokes sometimes or make up hilarious word problems. He grades really fairly and easy and tells you what will be on quizzes and tests. Do hw! It helps.

He is such a good teacher. I had him for MAPB 1. I am a person that disliked math but having taking his class I love math. He took his time explaining stuff to his students and different methods so students have other ways to do a certain problem. If you have a chance to have him as a math teacher you should take him.

I thought it would suck coming into a pre-baccalaureate math class for my first year of college, but Professor Brownson made it my favorite class. His examples are extremely helpful and he's hilarious! My class was 2 hours long but he made it fly by because you're so engaged and also busy laughing at is wacky jokes. Great teacher.

Eh... Don't get him. Fast pace is no bueno for normal students. Half the class quit before the final drop date. And the remainder either did really well or fairly bad. Focus on another teacher.

Lawrence is the best math teacher I have ever had! I like failed calculus in high school but I had him for Math 119 a and b and I am extremely confident in calculus now. Bottom line: take his class because he is freaking hilarious and explains concepts in a way that everyone can understand. LAWRENCE IS THE BEST.

Brownson is awesome, he tells hilarious weird jokes in class and is very hyper. The class is extremely simple and he makes his tests reasonable. He drops your lowest midterm grade and replaces it with the Final exam grade. Honestly not a hard class just pay attention and do the homework.

If you dont like math, dont take him. I used to love math and it was my best subject but i hate it now. He's a cool teacher and all but he teaches really fast. He would give you easy examples during lectures that made you think you got it but when it came to test/quiz time, the questions are way harder. He also teaches right before quizzes.

He is patient, doesnt mind explaining the same thing multiple times till you get it. He will do anything to help you. He is always in his office during office hours and even extra hours after. Expect hw daily and quizzes weekly. Focus and do your hw & youll be fine. Grading system is clear and fair. Great teacher, would definiely take him again.

He is a supper chill teacher. He lets you turn in class assignments and homework late for full credit as long as you get his signature on the paper! Hes super nice and funny. Great personality. Super chill prof. Made math actually fun to learn. Exams are very straight forward and almost exactly like study guide. Does go at a really fast pace but just show up and you'll do fine.

I am not a math person but Larry made math easy and fun to learn. While he does go fast, make sure to ask questions since he will slow down and go over stuff in depth. Very accessible with office hours and reachable over email. Do the study guide and pay attention in class and you will succeed. Class gave me the confidence to add a business major.

Larry will literally guide you all the way through if you are having trouble with any of the material. Doing the homework will help your grade out A LOT. Some of the homework problems are also on the quizzes and the exams. Tough grader; he does mark down points if you forget to include little things such as f(x) before your answer. HW M-TH

Definitely passionate about the material. Great lectures, easy to understand. Plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Offers worksheets that are just like the exams. You get what you put in.

Honestly such a great prof, he is passionate about math keeps the lectures interesting. He is very eager to explain the material and give you resources for extra help. Definitely do all of the WS's he posts and don't be afraid to ask for extra help! A lot of the material on the WS's show up on the tests/quizzes, so it really helped me prepare.

Took him for CALII. Gave lots of extra credits and make up quizzes for those who got bad scores. Knows his stuff and explains well. You don't even need to do webassign if you're doing good at class. I recommend him.

I took him for calc 2. The class is difficult and is based mostly on quizzes and tests. Homework was not mandatory, but I suggest doing the worksheets assigned on BeachBoard since they are EXTREMELY helpful. Pretty sad that I cant take this professor this semester since I finished my math courses, but I would definitely recommend him to others.

He is the ABSOLUTE GREATEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD. I WISHED HE HAD TAUGHT CALC 3. This class was a real struggle for me. I could never get a footing on the content. He gives assignments called in class which are basically study guides for exams. The exams are pretty difficult. I only passed one of them. If your really good at math this will probably be a very easy class. He grades really hard on exams. So dont make mistakes.

Prof. Brownson is a funny and quirky guy, loved his lectures - very clear and concise. In retrospect, I should have tried harder because his exams were pretty much the in class work and worksheets he posts online. He does move fast, but if you need him to slow down and clarify, he will do so. Wish I could take him for calc 3.

Had him for Calc 2. Quirky. Thus, lectures are always interesting. Concepts are well explained, but at times gone through a bit quickly. WebAssign optional, but recommended for further practice. Grades somewhat tough on exams though. In class assignments and the worksheets posted on BB are your best friends in this class. Make use of them.

I had floundered in my previous Calc classes not understanding what I was doing and this was finally the one where everything made sense. He's incredibly funny and goofy, and actually explains the concepts to where they make sense and not the stuffy way the books do. Just pay attention in class, study for the legion of exams and you'll be fine.

Honestly my worst subject but he was very nice and willing to help out during office hours. His lectures go by fairly quickly but he takes the time to explain them if you ask. He assigns problems in class that you're supposed to turn in and mainly uses webassign for homework. Tests were fairly long and difficult.

He's honestly really entertaining and his lectures were pretty thorough all posted, so you can work at your own pace which I really appreciated. He grades pretty tough for exams, but I genuinely feel like I have a grasp on most of the concepts. Considering how it's online and calc 2 is a notoriously difficult class, he's doing a pretty decent job.

Great overall professor. He makes everything look so simple its truly amazing. I barely passed calc 1 so I thought I would definitely fail calc 2 but this guy just made everything so simple to understand. One downside is that he is a tough grader but if you want to learn I definitely recommend taking him.

The best teacher I had this semester. His lectures are very clear and easy to understand. He does guided practice where you can ask questions and do practice problems. If you watch all lectures and attend all zoom meetings you will definitely pass. He does give a good amount of work but not overwhelming. Study and do all your work in this class.

I actually had brownson for 3 semesters. Trig, calc 1 (at lbcc) and calc 2. By far the most impactful professors i had, calc courses are generally tough courses but was very helpful and cared for all his students to understand the material. Lecs are fast but manageable and funny. ICAs are helpful and what are typically what are on the test.

Pretty cool, nice and very approachable when it comes to asking questions. The practice questions he gives are almost the same as the questions on the quizzes and exams.

Pretty great Professor. I studied for the test and his exam layout is exactly what he tells you. If you do really well, you can skip the final. Probably the best math prof. I have ever gotten. Definitely take him if you wanna know your stuff.

Brownson takes his own approach to explain different sections and models his exams to echo this. I can not stress enough how important it is to complete and understand his activities and worksheets as the same problems often show up on the exam. His lectures are fast and entertaining, be prepared to put in the work but overall very solid professor.
