He gives out random quizzes based of the readings. They're really easy if you read the text. He has these primary source reports where we have to analyze a text he gives us, he gives us a choice of three. He accepts drafts. He's a fair teacher.
Awesome professor. I hate American History but he honestly makes it interesting and relates it to things today. You must read for his class but the readings take 15-min. Based from those readings he will give surprise quizzes. The quizzes are super easy as long as you read. He also gives 3 Document based essays which are easy and a final.TAKE HIM!
absolute favorite professor at Queens College as well as the other schools I attended. He makes learning history incredibly fun and interesting. He's easy if you do the work and he is always there to help you. He's funny and kind and it doesn't hurt to have such a good looking professor for an 8am class. I would definitely take his class again!!
Try to remember about 60 IDS and the significance for each ID for the final. And ONLY 10 to 11 of them are going to be in the final. he talks super fast and it's hard to keep up with the notes. But, I could say he's helpful and some ways.
He is Funny, energetic, young good looking and one great history professor. Very organized, and He is clear with lectures.Make sure you take good notes. He hints what will be in the final. This class is a challenge and a lot of reading but if you prepare you'll do great. gives quizzes and primary source analysis.
I entered the class apathetic about history and I walked out completely inspired, realizing how necessary it was. Prof. Cappello is well-read, funny, witty, and has a calm effervescence about him. His theatrical ability to make history come alive will change the way you think about life. You won't regret taking this class. Don't use red pen.
Very good professor. Easy course if you show up and take good notes. Loves to explain things over if you dont understand. just make sure you dont summarize the articles for your papers. Very enjoyable and intresting class.
great teacher hes a young guy who talks to you like hes your friend you always understand what he is saying his jokes keep you alert and for his papers he will go over a draft if you ask him if you even ill deff take him again if i have the oppritunity
Excellent professor! Makes history so interesting and keeps your attention, even for a 9am class. He is extremely charismatic and is willing to answer any question you may have. If given the chance, I would take many more courses that he teaches.
i've never enjoyed history classes, but i loved his class. he is interesting, funny and cool. any teacher who makes references to fight club is cool in my book. take his class even if u dont need it.
He is great, does talk a bit fast but he is always willing to repeat and make things clear, oh he is hot and has a tattoo. awesome !
He is a really cool professor. He's a young dude and talks you he students like they're his buddies; he talks like a person would talk. He uses awesome analogies to make you understand . You have got to attend class though. He gives out a 10min quiz at least once a week. You should do fine on those if you do the readings.
Great Professor. Down to earth. He gives 10 pop quizzes throughout the semester but if you do the readings they're really easy. He also gives 3 primary source analysis assignments. The first 2 assignments he accepts drafts for and will give really constructive criticism. No midterm and reasonable final. Overall AMAZING prof. TAKE HIM!
Prof Cappello is so awesome and it helps that he is amazingly hot. He talks to you like he's your friend and is able to explain things very well. However, his class isn't an easy A. You need to do your work. He gives a quiz about once a week so you need to do the readings or else you're in trouble. Overall ,great guy I'd recommend him to everyone.
Amazing professor! He makes history seem really fun, interesting, and easy! His lessons are very clear and to the point. He does give pop quizzes about once a week, but that only encourages you to do the readings (which are not hard at all). Class discussions are always interesting and fun. He's also pretty funny, and also very good looking!
You know you have a cool professor when they can cite weezer lyrics of the top of their head, then relate it back to the class! Great, smart professor who makes the class fun and easy to understand. There are pop quizzes based on tb readings worth a big part of your grade so you have to keep up, & also 3 document analysis essays and a final.
Cappello is a wonderful prof. This class could have easily been a bore, a gen. ed. with little to walk away with, but he made the material compelling and relevant to his students. More than that his curriculum helped hone writing skills necessary for college life, and he set time aside to help students with each assignment. Take his class. Really.
Great professor. His lectures keep you entertained and he is extremely down to earth. Read the text book and do not mis any quizzes!!
Great Prof. Lots of quizzes, so you'll have to do the readings. Three short papers and a final. Also, it's a lot easier getting up for an 8am class when you know you'll get to look at that for an hour. Hot.
This was definitely a fun class to take, Cappello made everything interesting, relatable and understandable. If you are confused for any reason he is more than willing to help you. Just make sure to keep up with the readings because you will be quized on it.
One of the best professors I've had at Queens College! He's extremely energetic, knowledgeable, funny and helpful. Above all he's passionate about what he teaches and there's a lot of classroom interaction. Time flies in his class, he makes everything so interesting! He helps with writing too! You will learn so much and have fun at the same time!
By far one of the best Professors I've ever had in my college career. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches and keeps you interested the entire semester. He is very helpful with any assignment and extremely fair. History is not my favorite subject, but he managed to make it fun to learn about.
Best professor hands down. He is young and intelligent and beautiful and truly goes out of his way to explain the material. Had him for a 3 hour class and he made it feel like 30 minutes. VEry helpful, caring and did i mention very goodlooking?
Super knowledgable. Seriously knows what he's talking about. Fair grader but gives pop quizzes. Just do the reading. Makes it funny and relevant to us. Curses a bunch. Young. Hot--nuff said. If you have to take a history class, his is THE one to take and it covers multiple prerequisites.
Great Professor. Never like history but after this course i actually find it somewhat interesting. Do the reading, come to class, participate and you will do fine!
this teacher opened my eyes to history! i absolutely loved class. he brightens my day with his smile
Cappello is so down to earth and keeps his classes interesting. Class discussions keep everyone involved. He makes history fun.
really funny and friendy 11 quizes throughout the semester drops lowest one and each quiz u need 2 get 4 out of 10 questions to get 100 then 3 papers but if u talk with him outside of class about it he will tell u the answer and the final showing up and partisipated he said can add up to 6 points on final grade
This guy is great. I mean I already like history but Proff Cappello just brings it to a whole new level. History to him is not just about knowing a bunch of facts but rather knowing what happened and understanding why it happened. He does give pop quizzes but they are really easy. Just do the reading. He's is in my top 5 favorite professors.
great and amazing teacher. keeps me coming to class and interested in course. makes paying attention in class very easy. learn alot and well prepared for quizzes
Do not take this professor! Yes, he's goodlooking but he is a very tough grader on his essays which are 40% of grade!! Also he gives pop quizzes which are super hard... he blasts songs on his ipad while you do them so you can't concentrate.
amazing professor! very charismatic cool and down to earth. 11 pop quizzes but they're super easy if you do the reading. just a class you have to read for. will definitely take another one of his classes. haters just being lazy. cappello for president!
Professor Cappello is the man!!!! light quizzes each have 10 questions and you only have to get 4 right to get a 100. Just the best Professor I took this semester. Definitely looking forward in taking another course taught by him.
One word: BRILLIANT!
This guy is the greatest, I want to be like Cappello when I grow up!
Great Professor, you learn alot, he's super easy. I think every girl in class is in love with him
Awesome professor! Really organized and helpful.
This guy is awesome. Extremely intelligent and a great lecture. Keeps you interested for the whole hour and a half lecture. Opened my eyes to history! Must take, even if you find history boring you will still enjoy this class. Fair grader. just do the readings and take notes and you will do fine.
Loves to teach. He is very passionate about his work, speaks clearly, and will answer any questions you have.
Hot, great class with interesting topics, easy A if you do the reading. Take him!
I don't like his pop quizzes and his way of grading. But when it comes to lecture he is good, actually excellent
Very friendly and always willing to help if you're having trouble. Likes to tell stories and use real world examples but his pop quizzes can be difficult if you don't do the readings.
Hands down best prof in QC. I came to class somewhat consistently, missed a few quizzes and he still gave me a B+! Don't take him for an "easy A" cause you won't get it. You have to put in effort but with his beauty I don't think anyone minds paying attention. Ugh LOVE!! Highly recommend.
HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR!! EVERYONE SHOULD TAKE HIM. HE WANTS ALL OF HIS STUDENTS TO DO WELL. HE GIVES QUIZZES ON THE READINGS BUT YOU NEED TO DO 4 OUT OF 10 TO GET 100. HE MAKES CLASS VERY INTERESTING AND MAKES YOU WANT TO LISTEN. PLUS HE IS VERY GOOD LOOKIN. I WISH I COULD TAKE HIM FOR EVERY CLASS!!!
Prof. Cappello is an awesome instructor who makes this course exciting. It is fun to attend, and you learn a lot about the period studied [US 1945 - 1992]. There is no textbook, but the professor provides on-line documents, reports, and articles. You-tube videos and movies are assigned, so class can get a feel of the period, as it happened.
Professor Cappello is one of the best professors that I’ve had at QC plus he’s good looking. There are 11 quizzes (drops the lowest one. Only have to get 4/10 right to pass them. 40% of grade) There are three papers. There is an in class final gives IDs (60) on the final he gives 30 of them and u have to answer ten in 4-6 sentence answers.
Great Professor. Seriously, his lectures are very interesting and he's insanely good looking. However, make sure to copy what he writes on the board, because it all comes back in the final. I made the mistake of taking vague notes and made life harder for myself. Copy the board and listen to lectures and you're golden.
Professor Cappello is highly intelligent and his lectures are fascinating. I sincerely enjoyed this class-- it was clear, interesting, and left me with a lot to think about. You really have to do the assigned homework in order to do well, but the material is actually enjoyable and fascinating. This was one of my favorite college courses.
A class that will make you love history! 11 quizzes and drop the lowest grade, no exams, only final. Interesting, clear, and fascinating lectures. very helpful and kind. Make sure you study for the quizzes, they are easy but you wont know how to do it without reading your textbook. Again, take him if you can!
Only 11 quizzes. counts 10. one midterm and final and there both papers. relatively easy. very interesting course and guy. hes really cool and knows his stuff. Also very handsome guy. take him
Easy quizes based on the readings which arent boring at all. 3 papers, no reason you shouldnt get an A. he provides a lot of assistance if needed. The way he teachers is fun. you will actually be interested and not fall asleep even though its an early morning class. Also a hottie!! cant go wrong with him!
His lectures are interesting and clear. However you have to work very hard if you want to get an A in his class. If you care about your GPA take someone else. If not, take him.
Professor Cappello is one of the best professors at QC. He is highly knowledgeable and extremely good looking! Go to class, do your work, and you will be fine. There is absolutely no reason not to take his class!
I enjoyed his class very much. He is very strict with the reading assignments, but overall he is a fair instructor. Very passionate when he teaches and has that "family guy" sense of humor. So take his class. YES THAT GUY. insider
Fantastic teacher. Makes history come alive. Knows his stuff, and knows how to convey it, so you come out of the class knowing a lot. Lectures are fun and enjoyable. He does not take attendance, but you don't want to cut because you don't want to miss great lectures. Very responsive to students. Take any course he teaches, he's great.
great teacher really knows his stuff one of the best at QC
This was the 2nd class I took with Prof. Cappello, but it will not be the last. He is energetic, exciting, and makes the course come alive. Very enjoyable instructor, and you learn a lot in his classes. Looking forward to taking him again.
Great teacher, makes history interesting. Class consists of 10 very easy pop quizzes if you do the reading. Genuinely cares for his students to do well. Take him.
Great lectures were interesting. I took it in summer so i was a bit crazy as you have to read a lot. Professor is great knows his stuff- and he is not boring. If you like history- this is a class for you.
Wonderful Professor. Super interesting, informative and clear -- promise you won't be dozing off. Before you know it you may find yourself taking 4 of his classes. A must take!
Dear God... he's HOT! And that brain? Makes him even more hot. Moving on. He's great. Pretty young, so he knows how to make the class more interesting for students. Lectures are super interesting the way he teaches it. AND he's HILARIOUS! Attendance not mandatory, but EVERY class MATTERS. Random quizzes at the beginning of class; make sure to read
This guy is the greatest, I want to be like Lawrence Cappello when I grow up.
Professor Cappello is very knowledgeable and dedicated to United States history. You can tell that he really cares about educating and is enthusiastic about conveying his lectures.
Professor Cappello is by far the most amazing professor I have ever had. . He is always there to help his students, and he sincerely cares about us. I would be so lost if it wasn't for him advising me and making me feel that there is someone who believes in me. His lectures are so interesting , they constantly give you perspective about life
Very nice professor. 3 papers and 11 quizes a semester. The quiz is not difficult. Read books following the syllabus and highlight what you think is significant. Answer 4 of 10 questions then you get 100. For me memorizing is not easy, but the professor is very kind and patient to explain.
Horrible.
Take him! Hands down the best history prof I've ever had. The lectures are amazing and he's hilarious. A lot of quizzes, but they're easy if you read. Very handsome.
Prof. Cappello was hands down the most down to earth and enthusiastic professor I have had thus far. History bores me and I absolutely dreaded the class, but it was with great surprise that I found the course to be rewarding and inspirational, story telling technique kept me engaged and if you pay attention quizzes are spot on. Total Tamale!
Couldn't be any more awesome. Super hot.
Cool professor but don't get carried away ladies, he's ENGAGED! Workload is heavy. Would recommend!
Lord he's hot and so incredibly engaging. Attendance is not mandatory BUT you will regret it if you miss a class. Do the readings and highlight information that stands out to you because odds are it'll show up on the quizzes. My first paper I got a B- and the last one I got a solid A; so there's always room for improvement.
History is a tough subject for me but this professor has interesting lectures. 3 primary source analysis and pop quizzes. Be sure to take notes in class because it will really help for the final!!
An easy A+. I attended all class lectures, did well on all quizzes, and got an A+ on all his essays (which were extremely straightforward and simple). He is engaging and very knowledgeable plus he's attractive.
This is by far the best professor i have ever had. really wants to see you succeed and was so nice every time he saw me outside of class. you can tell that he is one of those people who just genuinely cares about you. his lectures are interesting and hes hilarious. really one of the nicest, intelligent, and most heartfelt people ive ever met.
amazing professor, helpful.
Cappello's lectures are never boring just make sure you go because he gives 11 quizzes throughout the semester, 10 of them count, each worth 4 points towards your total grade. so 40% of your grade is pop quizzes. There are 3 primary source essays and then a cumulative final that consists of IDs. He gives 60, puts 30 on the final and you pick ten.
Everyone recommended him to me, but i'm not really sure why. He isn't nice and is extremely arrogant. I heard he got a lot tougher this year, then what he used to be like. He gives pop quizzes on 30 page readings! With such detailed questions. I would NOT take him again.
Amazing Prof. The lectures were very interesting and he is really energetic and funny. He gives 11 pop quizzes over the semester so you have to do the readings but they are very easy. I am not a history major but I would take him again if I had space in my schedule. He talks a little fast sometimes. Highly recommend.
Wonderful professor. Has high expectations, gives lectures and assignments that serve you far beyond the classroom. The class is not an easy A, you actually have to (gasp) work for an A, and in the process, you get so much out of his class. He is smart, passionate about his subject, and genuinely caring of his students. Highly recommend.
Professor Cappello is an intellectual who teaches to the intellectual, thoughtful student. If you are not either of those things, don't take him. He treats you like an educated person who is attending college to LEARN, not for an easy grade. Top-notch professor and you will get so much out of taking his class. Extremely valuable class.
One of my favorite professors at qc. 11 quizzes through out the semester that are extremely easy if youve done the reading. His essays arent hard at all and hes also very helpful outside of the classroom if youre struggling with them. You are going to have to actually WORK for the A. Lectures are very enjoyable. Amazing professor.
The 11 quizzes are easy if you read. Analyses papers aren't too crazy challenging. Funny guy, really educated. Work hard and you'll get an A. But. If you know you're lazy, don't bother. You will need to READ the required readings in order to pass! One of my top 3 favorite professors at qc ever. I want to be just like him when I become a teacher.
My favorite class @ QC so far. I'm a history major and its hard to find teachers who teach and explain all sides of history. Must do the readings! Gives good feedback, wants to help and see you do well. Learned so much in his class, makes boring history relatable and interesting. A must take before leaving QC
I am so glad that I took this course. Professor Cappello is hands-down one of the best I've had the pleasure and honor of learning from. He is intelligent, passionate, and inspirational about what he teaches. He has high expectations but it's only because he wants to see people rise to their fullest potential. I would love to have him again.
11 pop quizzes, drop lowest grade. Score 25 of section 1 and 25 on section 2 will earn you 4 points (100%). Overall quizzes 40% of grade and 30% midterm and 30% final. Midterm & Final are primary source analysis, which are easy if you just somehow relate back to privacy. Any perspective is accepted and if you prove your point, you will get A.
Awesome class, very straightforward professor. Readings assigned for hw for every class. Pop quizzes based on the hw, given every week. Total 11 pop quizzes, drops the lowest one, 3 papers assigned for the semester, and a final based on IDs taught in class. MUST DO READINGS, you'll do well in class. I'm a bio major, & was able to get an A+
Prof Cappello gives really interesting lectures. The material is easy to work with as long as you pay attention in class. Three papers and the final, which he holds a review for. He's willing to give feedback and help you with papers as long as you set up a meeting. He will not spoon feed you! Definitely not an easy A, you just need to work for it.
He's a hottie. Honestly I paid attention to him more than I did for the class. I wish only if his quizzes were as easy as looking at him. The readings are boring and long. Each chapter were 20-30 pages. If you have him twice a week which is likely, as soon as you're finished with a quiz for Tuesday, boom you got to read for Thur. which is a pain.
He's seriously the best professor. He gives pop quizzes on the assigned readings but will only quiz you on what was due on that day. If you do the readings you'll get 100 on the quizzes. No tests. Just a midterm and final paper. He makes history really interesting, i never enjoyed history until i took this class. He rllllly cares about his students
Professor Cappello is the best professor I've ever had. Not to mention, the best looking ;) His lectures are AMAZING and he makes everything super clear. You do have a lot of reading-but his class is still super awesome! Totally recommend him!
Great Great Great History professor!!!!! As a non history major, taking this class was very enjoyable due to the great lectures giving in class which were taught in great detail.
Absolutely loved him! Very organized, knew the topics very well, engaged with the students and keeps them interested at all times!! Gives 11 pop quizzes, drops the lowest grade. Three primary source analyses which are easy if you just read the source and explain the significance and key components of the source. He's friendly and understanding.
He's an terrifyingly brilliant trailblazer. His storytelling style makes being engaged and interested easy, and he aims for knowledgeable yet relatable lectures so you actually learn something. One of my favorite classes at QC. 11 pop quizzes, lowest dropped. 3 primary source papers, just explain the significance in a precise, unbiased fashion.
Professor makes subject very easy. Lectures are interesting. The analysis essays were also enjoyable. Professor is very helpful and very nice.
Professor Capello is a great history teacher who not only teaches you history but also teaches you life lessons and his lectures are very enjoyable . The annoying thing is that he gives 11 quizzes throughout the semester on the readings so reading is annoying but if you like history i wont be bad . Overall 3 papers and final , no test. Great classs
This man is an excellent Professor like others have mentioned, he actually cares about his students and will teach you things about life and give you tips that will just help you throughout and not just for the course. A QC grad himself he knows exactly how it is, would take him again.
Awesome professor, by far one of my favorite at QC. If I was a history major, I would take his classes every chance I could. Reading for his class is very important, there are 11 pop quizzes on the daily readings. The 3 primary analysis papers were pretty easy, and the final was very straight forward. Do yourself a favor and take this class!
Professor Cappello is one of the best at QC. He's crazy smart and accessible to students for friendly advice and help with all assignments. Smartly structured and infinitely interesting, his class had a manageable workload (short readings and 11 quizzes total), and the midterm and final were beyond fair. No nonsense, no surprises. Take him.
Cappello is a first-rate professor, who definitely knows his stuff about privacy and history! His enthusiasm as a lecturer is a rarity at this college. Engaging and funny. Do the readings for each class --11 straightforward quizzes. Midterm and a Final were straightforward as well! He wants you to do well and available to help and talk. Take him!!
PURE AMAZING. he knows his stuff and on top of that hes sooo cute!
Professor Cappello is one of the BEST professors at QC. He is super organized and intelligent. He knows his history and knows how to keep the class engaged. I would for sure recommend him to other students. He gives reading every class and you must do them because he gives short pop quizzes. I really like him!
One of the few professors who was not afraid to call it how it is. He definitely wasn't a robot following the liberal indoctrination protocol seemingly set forth by most universities and this was apparent in his analysis of social issues and concerns. Great class to be a part of and a great class for a good debate.
Professor Cappello was one of the coolest professors I've ever had. He made History enjoyable to learn. The class is clear and to the point. Do your work right and you're guaranteed an A.
HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR IN QC!!!!! If his class is avaliable take him.
A great professor, just go to class and keep up with the readings. The final is based on all of the id's that is taught in class. And there are pop quizzes. Overall, just go to class and participate.
He is an amazing professor, very funny, and makes history interesting. MUST read the textbook, the quizzes make up a lot of the grade, 3 papers, and a final. He is accessible outside of class, and he really cares about helping each student succeed. Would definitely take his class again- my favorite class of the semester. He's awesome!
Prof Capello is an amazing professor and he really does care for his students. There's a quiz almost every class (if you read the textbook, you'll be fine) ,3 essays and a final. Since day 1, he gives you all the topics that will be on the final. He makes history fun by cracking jokes all the time. I didn't like history at all but he changed that.
Best professor I've ever had. Very respectful and understanding but also demands the professional best out of you. Very funny, made history interesting and actually knows what he's talking about. Quizzes almost every class but if you do the reading you'll be fine.
Hands down the best professor I ever had. Make sure you do well on your quizzes by reading since that is worth 40%. His lectures are very interesting.
Incredible man, incredible professor who looks like a ck model.
He is by far one of my favorite professors ever. His lectures are clear and easy to understand and not boring. I had him at 7:45 in the morning and he made me actually want to stay awake and pay attention. Make sure to read the textbook because there are quizzes at random and 3 easy essays. He's amazing though.
By far the best professor in QC. I looked forward to going to his class every single day. He's very caring and inspiring.
quizzes every week. a midterm paper and a final paper. no tests. He's amazing and makes the topic extremely enjoyable. Lectures are fun and hilarious and he always challenges your thought process to expand your knowledge on the topic. Available during office hours, fast replies to emails. Can not ask for more from a professor.
Professor Cappello is a wonderful person. He truly cares about his students and helps as much as he possibly can. His lectures are very interesting and inspiring. He gives a lot of advise for outside the classroom. He's a rare professor to find.
This man is a motivation speaker, he's lectures are powerful and really connect. Take him, you will not regret it.
He seemed nice as everyone here said so, but his class was challenging for me. When I participated he would tell me I was wrong. He is so strict with his papers as well. Will take a huge chunk of points for minor errors. I was not pleased by taking him. A friend of mine said he was amazing, but not in my case.
Such an amazing prof. His lectures were incredibly entertaining and interesting. A lot of pop quizzes, but easy if you do the reading. Best prof at QC! Don't leave without taking him.
Best professor I had the whole time at QC. So amazing. Take him!
Best Professor I've ever had by far! Inspiring lectures I actually wanted to come to class. Don't miss an opportunity to take him
He is an amazing professor and makes history so much more interesting. I think he is a fair grader. There are 11 pop quizzes, 3 papers and final exam throughout the course. He's also very helpful. Even though attendance isn't mandatory, make sure to go to class on time or you'll miss the quizzes. AND AGAIN HE IS SO AMAZING!
Cappello is a real gem and this course Great Cases in US Legal History proves you can improve on perfection. This is the 4th class I have had with him, and each course is better than the last. You can see why so many of his students keep taking him again each time he offers a new course. More like graduate level class, but was so fun.. Great!!
GREAT PROFESSOR. YOU HAVE TO EARN YOUR GRADE IN THAT CLASS WITH DOING THE READINGS AND SHOWING UP TO CLASS FOR THE POP QUIZES
He is GREAT professor! I hated history but managed to still get an A. The lectures aren't the ordinary history lectures, he makes them enjoyable. I recommend him 100%. Just do the scheduled readings so you'll be prepared for the quizzes and everything else is a given.
Hands down the best professor I had so far. Even though I am not interested in history at all, his lectures are amazing, he makes it interesting, time passes fast in his lectures. Everything is straightforward, it's not easy, but everything you need to do is out there. Do the tasks given and you will get an A.
Professor Cappello is one the best history professors in Queens College. A couple quick tips. He gives around 10 pop quizzes based on the readings in the textbook, and drops the lowest quiz. These quizzes are super important, since they count for about 40% of your grade. Other than that, he assigns 3 papers, which are fairly easy, and 1 final.
Best history professor I've ever had. Capello is hysterical and knows everything about everything. Weekly pop quizzes are important so do not skip the readings. Grade is pop quizzes, midterm paper, final paper. Gives up to 6 points extra credit for participation. Learned the most from this professor and would take again in a heartbeat.
Very intelligent. However he talks so fast and at some point I stopped taking notes. His papers and quizzes are incredibly clear and to the point. Personally, I found that his lectures didn't connect to the readings. Anyways, it's not a hard class. Just do the readings because the quizzes are worth a lot.
BEST Prof at QC. Amazing lectures. Amazing class. Have to do the readings because of the quizzes, but they're not super difficult. Definitely take him!
Hands down this guy is by far the best professor in qc. He deserves a raise and I really mean it. Hes engaged, caring, and very passionate about history. TBH, i hated history, but till I got to his class, he really made me love it and Im not just saying that. You must read in his class, but trust me his class is worth it. You wont regret it at all!
Overall, fair professor. Everything on the syllabus is what you will expect. He's entertaining and his lectures are easy to understand. But I've found that lots of his assigned readings can be incredibly dense. Its especially annoying since his pop quizzes are based on them. DO NOT take him if you're bad with deadlines. He does't accept late work.
A very remarkable professor! A true gem! Easily one of the best history professors in the department. He is extremely passionate about the subject matter. He's Comprehensible; you will definitely learn a lot from him. Will take him again without hesitation! About four papers , reader responses, and two videos. Be prepared to learn because you will!
There should be more professors like Cappello at QC! He's incredibly smart and makes lectures enjoyable, especially for Supreme Court cases. The class isn't be a breeze; but do the readings and really put the effort in, you'll get a lot from the class. 11 Quizzes (based on readings), 1 Midterm, 1 Final. Best class I took this semester, seriously.
Professor Cappello is an exquisite lecturer and a very fair grader
Articulates himself well. Never a boring moment during the lectures.
QC is incredibly lucky to have Professor Cappello and would do well to hold onto him. Students should take at least one of his classes. Incredible lecturer, more than fair, manageable workload. You can't sleep through his fast-paced classes, but you won't want to. A+
I mean hes ok. Hes cool and all like he says for realzies thats cool. Also I learned that the 1st marriage is for business and the second is for love so thats info thats good for the future. Learned more about the constitution hats great oh! Also if youre a girl hell most likely call you Becky I dont know why but he will so be prepared.
Amazing Prof. One of the best at QC by far. The lectures are interesting. Students have to make video responses so be prepared if youre camera shy. Highly recommend.
I am lucky enough to have taken Professor Cappello's class last Fall. He's an amazing lecturer, super passionate about the subject. I tend to learn more from those who truly love what they teach and he's one of those people. It's a grad. class, so obviously a lot of reading. Interesting ones though. Very friendly. Just an overall nice guy.
Cappello is a very no nonsense professor, but in a good way. His class is to the point and his lectures are very informative. However, if you don't do the weekly readings, you will tank. Take it from a person who is used to not doing class readings and bs-ing my way through quizzes.... you cannot do that with Cappello. Otherwise, he's great!
Professor Cappello is awesome. His lectures are so great that you can't help but be captivated by what you're learning. He articulates everything very well. We have to write a summary every week based on the assigned reading, but that's no biggie. I would definitely recommend him to other students.
He literally radiates intelligence. Pop quizzes are simple if you do the usually short readings. Very clear midterm and final papers, but you have to take notes in class to be able to get your point across. A cool guy and a great professor. I have so much respect for him.
didnt just learn about the great legal cases in US history, I also learned to look at difficult pol. Issues differently and take a moment to consider both sides of an argument before giving in to a knee-jerk reaction, smthwhich is the mark of a great prof. He is also v. Eager to advise students for grad school and Professional life. QCll miss him
Very clever. You will learn so much from him, just by lecture alone. He's also witty and has clear grading criteria. There's a paper due every week (weekly readings) and three papers, one of which is a video. He's accessible outside of class. Attendance is mandatory. Note-taking is also mandatory. Must do weekly readings. Very clear expectations.
At first, I didn't like this professor at all. But then I really ended up liking him and learning so much from him. You learn so much from him about the law and the criminal justice system. He doesn't grade so strictly, but he does give a lot of pop quizzes though. This professor also helps prepare you for law/graduate school.
