This is the worst math teacher I have ever had...you go in to a test knowing things and before the test he goes over stuff and utterly and completly confuses you. He is a horrible teacher.

I contemplated self-injury before every single class.

Has good intentions, but is just too smart for his own good. He is so random in teaching and always unclear and disorganized with his writing on the board. Can't communicate the material well. The huge curve may not even save you, lots of people failed.

Gluck is the worse! He goes on and on about anything except the cal. assignment. Then when it is time for the exam nothing is covered and you are left completly confused. Please take someone else.

I can not believe he is still teaching. He was supposed to retire years ago. He is absolutely unorganized and incredibly unclear with his explanations. Trying to hack his class for a whole quarter is absolutely aggrivating.

This guy is really hard, I wouldn't recommend taking him. But if you do make sure you talk to him whenever you get the chance. I've failed every single test and he gave me a C! So if you're failing talk to him about your grade.

Completely unorganized, has no clue what he is talking about, does an entire problem either without explaining it, or realizing HE did something wrong at the end. His tests are out of left field. I am a really good student and I struggled with this class.

In my 4 years at Depaul, this teacher is BY FAR the worst I've ever had. His tests are NOTHING like the homework he assigns. If you take him, I hope you have a great calc. tutor!

i didn't go to class or do the homework but did fine. i got an A both quarters by reading the book before the test. Just take you time on the test and dont worry about it because their is a curve.

ALL I CAN SAY IS: DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH HIM.

I guess he understands the material, but he does a very bad job of teaching it. Also, he is very boring and weird.

If you already took Calc, make sure you have those notes. If you are not familiar with calc change profs! He has a super easy grading scale. But he confuses himself when he teaches. I only went to class to get the assignment and teach myself how to do it.

My advice to u is DO NOT TAKE HIM lets just say that my calculus grade took a turn for the worse. Unless u plan to teach urself go for it, if not stay away!!!!

If you are fully confident that you can teach yourself calculus, you can do just fine. If not, DO NOT TAKE HIM. You WILL fail.

He's sorta sucks. i really didnt understand a freaking word he said. i got one C on his tests and the rest F's and still passed with a C-. if you like to listen to lame jokes and are an ace at math then go for it.

If you are good in calc take him because u never will have to go to class and u will pass with his easy grading scale.. however if u hate calc, and never understand do not take this man for u will fail deeply...

Had to teach myself out of the book because his lectures were so aimless and confusing. If you take his class, don't bother showing up, because he'll only end up confusing you and you're a better teacher than he will be.

This guy sucks the big one. He walks into class everytime with his tie flipped rotated around. He's shmart, but can't teach worth****. You learn on your own. Maybe that's his strategy to teach, but I've had better math teachers, way better. Good look if you're stuck with him.

Unprepared, late, dishevled, boring. He also says idiotic thinks like, "not everyone can do math" to discourage students that might require extra assistance. He's an apathetic man who shoudn't be teaching anymore.

By far the worse teacher at DePaul, I really can not believe that I paid money for his class! Do not take him! Unclear, unprofessional, and just all-around a bad teacher.

This professor is never on time for class. He is rude and tries to make you look even more stupid when you ask a question. He makes you feel like you shouldn't be there. Over all he is a very poor teacher. If you pass the class it's because your good if your not dont take this professor

This teacher deserves to be shot!! he is terrible. i have ALWAYS been in honors/advanced math classes throughout h.s and have never needed help, however when i took this class, i was completely lost. he doesn't explain anything and tells you things you don't need to know. don't waste your time, he's awful!

This is the worst teacher that I've ever had. After he handed out the second final of the course, his words were: "hahahaha Don't worry about getting a 100% on the test, i dont even know all of the correct answers." After getting a terrible grade on the test he wrote me an e-mail: "Based on your past performance, i suggest you drop the course."

Do not take Gluck unless you plan to teach yourself all of the material. He does not teach he relies solely on the textbook - which sux - and expects students to learn everything outside of class on their own. Unless you are a math major do not take him for this class. One good thing - you can bring a notecard for the test.

Spent half the class learning something other than what we were supposed to, took the whole class time multiple times just explaining one problem. If you want a low grade, have no concept of the equations, take him. Hes about as clear as mud. I can honestly say he is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. The worst teacher known to man. If you see a good comment about him, then its from him. This teacher is on probation for failing 28 of his 30 students. No one in class likes him. This professor knows about this website and he goes on it to write good comments about him self. Don't fall for it! He is the worst teacher next to plager at depaul.

Wow, being in the first day of his class was unbearable. Literally, he jumps around with his lectures. I feel bad for the poor man, he makes no sense whatsoever when he talks. You can't use calculators on finals. And he doesn't teach out of the book. If you like reading and teaching yourself, your heart is set in this class. Definitely not me!!

Everything written here about Gluck is true. Do not take this course unless you know math like Einstein did. He makes no sense in class; you HAVE to learn the subject yourself!! People got Ds and Fs on the midterm (more than half the class), and even though I got a B, I wish I waited till next quarter to take this class w/somebody else!

He is a horrible person, its as simple as that. Trying to teach yourself everything becomes difficult towards the end of the quarter. You have been warned!!!

I work full time and go to school full time and is still able to get As and Bs. When I left that class, I felt like a FAILURE!!! He is so bad that I am contemplating on getting a lawyer and sue the school if I don't get my money back. DePaul aint cheap! He was a waste of money and time and education...which I did not get from this course.

Do not take this professor! Avoid at all costs. The class is based on a 50/50 scale, 50% midterm, 50% exam. I attended every class and worked my ass off teaching myself all this stuff, and still only got a C-. He says he will take your attendence and homework into consideration, but that is a lie. Do not take him! He can't teach.

Even though I got an A, his teaching had nothing to do with it. I suggest that you ignore his lectures and teach yourself. If you can't (or don't want to) do it and have no clue about the calculus then you will surely fail. His 'explanations' only make sense to him and he makes even the easiest problem seem like rocket science. Forget about the calculator-you're not allowed to use it on his impossible tests. He takes attendence. Bottom line: if you can, take someone else!

All of these reviews are absolutely true. I took class last Spring, it was pure misery and frustration. Lectures are impossible to understand. His class was only one available when I enrolled. If I had to do it again I'd wait to next quarter, just not worth it. I tried hard, spent a lot of time, he actually said I one of his best studends. Huh

This is the worst teacher I have ever had at DePaul Uivesity. It is an insult as a student as well as my parents who are throwing away money for my GPA to be lowered to take this class. Regardless if you study for hours from the book the tests are ridicoulously off topic.

THIS MAN IS AN AWFUL TEACHER. He makes things ten times more complicated than he should. You have to pay attention to "his way" to do things because that's what he puts on the tests. There are only two tests that count in the entire class (midterm/final) so if you don't do well on one you can't pass the class. HE MAKES NO SENSE EVER!

i don't recommend him..he doesn't really know how to keep a train of thought..if you want to actually understand something take another teacher..he doesn't go with what the book says becuase he thinks his ways are better when they are actually more confusing

He has 2 tests which have nothing to do with the HW and that determines your grade. Attendence is mandatory. He is no help, and the craziest teacher ever. Im BEGGING YOU, please dont take him. Gluck is THE worst teacher I've ever had. I don't think he knows a thing about how to teach. When I asked him for help he turned me down, as a result I spent at least 3 hours a week in tutoring because he can't teach. Overall, if you want to spend at least a week worrying about whether or not you'll even pass his class, take Gluck.

Umm this supposed "accredited university" with "great teachers" is cashing in on all the students that have to retake this class since 2001 b/c of Gluck's teaching. Criminal if you ask me?

Depaul has a lot of great professors, but Dr. Gluck simply isn't one of them. If you want to waste your time and money take him, but I am going to warn you ahead of time you will repeat the class. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! He is not clear in any of his explantions. When he "teaches" a lesson he doesn't use any numbers but only explains in terms of f(x). His class was a complete waste of time and money. Unfortunatly this guy is tenor so he can't be fired... and people have tried to get him fired.

I'm with everyone else on this he's a pretty bad professor lucky for me I took pre calc in high school so I had a hint of what was going on. I slept through every class (no joke) and got a C+ because the midterm and final are multiple choice, otherwise I would've easily failed

Complete waste of time. Didn't really learn anything even though I did all of the hw and tried my best to pay attention during lectures. His lectures are 90% unrelated to the topic at hand. He discusses mayan temples, horse saddles, and other random interests instead of calculus Easy to get a B due to huge curve, but getting an A is hard w/o tutor.

Honestly, the worst classroom experience I have ever had. He is extremely confusing in class and is not helpful at all. The majority of the class time was an arguement and he is not an eas grader. A tutor is recomended if you end up stuck in class. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I'm a math geek, and even I hated his class! He doesn't pay attention when he grades tests and counts correctly done problems as wrong! He should not be teaching!

each lecture for the most part consisted of going over one single problem from the homework for the first hour. with the remaining 30 minutes he would attempt to teach us the new material. his notes are scribbled all over the board, almost illegible to read or follow. office hours provided little to no help but showed that i was trying. get a tutor

Professor Gluck is a brilliant man that really knows his stuff. Having said that, he has no talent for teaching and uses his knowledge of math to belittle his students. Rude, incomprehensible, and illegitimatley hard; professor gluck needs to retire before he is retired. DO NOT take his class unless you really have to atone for something horrible!

Ok so basically this teacher is useless and I dont understand why he is still teaching at DePaul after having so many complaints on him!Basically the ONLY way you can or should take this class is if you havea good understanding of math and are good at it! Possibly the worst class I have ever had. He has no lesson plan ever, he just walks in the room and starts writing on the board, and he takes 15 minutes to do a problem that should have taken 2. He relies a lot on My Math Lab, and you will basically teach yourself using that. No one should EVER take this class.

Just AVOID. Don't ever take a class with this person. Only made me hate math more than I already do.
