Very fair professor. His tests always covered material that was discussed in lecture. Slides were well organized and there was a clear order to the concepts being presented. Ochem is generally seen as a relatively tough class, but professor Goldman did his best to make it accessible and interesting to his students. Would definitely recommend.

Dr. Goldman is the BEST ochem professor at UW. I took all three ochem courses 237-239 with him and I would do it again! Make sure you attend every lecture and engage with the class (it helped me stay focused since classes are long), also try to make it to as many office hours as possible (very helpful) and do a lot of practice. You'll do great!

Honestly, the class was painful. Granted, ochem is usually hard, but Prof Goldman makes it doubly hard with vague explanations- he explains what is actually happening with what could happen, and gives the wrong explanation before the right one. Tests are harder than any material he gives you, including optional textbook practice. Nice man, but ouch

Do not take Goldman. He is a good guy and makes himself accessible, but his tests are hard. He won't take any criticism of his grading system even though everyone hates it. There is no room for small mistakes; if you do badly on one test, you know your grade for the quarter. His lectures are pretty much just the book reinstated.

Larry is nice but the grading is insane. No partial credit (kinda). It sounds good at first. You'll get like 60% of the problem right but since you didn't get the 4/5 "pieces" they want for credit you just get a 0- no partial credit for the stuff you DID right. It KILLED my morale. So, you can get like 50% of stuff right but still get a 1/7 on exam
