What a GREAT instructor!! The best, he really cares about his students success. If you need help go ask him. He wants you to do good but you do have to work for it. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND this guy.
AWESOME!!! This guy is a great instructor. Really smart, and has a tendency to show off and talk about college day boozing, lol. This was my favorite class so far. He really makes ya think. His lectures are VERY interesting. But slackers beware, this isn't a "just show up" class.
This was my favorite class so far! Larry was the best professor I've had. He's a smart arse and he loves to joke, He is really fair and wants everyone to pass, however, you must work pretty hard. All his quizs are right from the book, and his big assignments are fun and you learn a lot about yourself and your abillity to communicate with others.
Great class! I was scared as hell and had to take this class, but Larry really knows how to show you how to give a speech. He's funny and smart and will go the limit to help. Always available for help. But if you try to BS him, forget it. Not much gets by him. I totally reccomend this class with Mr. Massey if you're willing to work.
This course was like College 101. I learned way more here than in my fundamentals class. Outlining, paying attention, how to research stuff, working in groups and asking for help. It was amazing, I wish I'd taken it my first quarter here. Larry IS all that. But don't try to bs him, he's been there, done that.
Awesome professor. He is hard, but good. You can not fall asleep in this class! (if you did I would be scared for you, lol) He engages the audiance well, and really does teach you a lot. I find myself actually thinking about the coarse concepts outside of class. That is rare let me tell you. In short, best speach teacher at SFCC, and he knows it.
Amazing course. Textbook is cheap, and he allows you to have your own thoughts. Although he picks favorites, it is not difficult to become one of them. Just do the work to the best of your ability. He grades on a curve, and if you disagree with a grade he is willing to change it. I would certainly recommend this class!
Great class, great instructor. I learned a ton, but the class was tougher than I expected. Worth it, but not easy. All the assignments meant something though, so it didn't really mind. Pretty easy to 4.0 if you can follow directions and are paying attention.
Loved this class! He scared me at first, but really warmed up once the slackers were gone. I still find myself thinking about the stuff we learned. He's been everywhere and teh classes went by really fast. Best D class at the falls.
He was arrogant, but a great teacher. Just dont ask dumb questions!
Excellent, intelligent, well-read, articulate, and very funny. If you don't annoy him, he'll be the best faculty friend/advisor you could have at SFCC.
Awesome teacher! He will push you to do your best. He can be very sarcastic, which makes the class fun. Easy 4.0 if you attend classes, pay attention, and do the reading before the lectures. He does not tolerate slackers.
This guy is amazing. TAKE HIS CLASS!!! It'll be the best thing you ever did at the falls.
Larry is THE BEST teacher at the Falls. His approach and teaching method perfectly match the material. His knowledge on the subject is second to none at the Falls. He also was very helpful in explaining the course work. Just remember to show up and actively listen to his wonderful and funny lectures and you can't go wrong. Slackers need not apply.
This instructor was funand blatantly honest with his students. I checked that attendance wasn't mandatory because that is what he would tell you. He would say attendance isn't mandated but he was going to grade you accordingly.
Larry is seriously an awesome instructor. He isn't one for slacking or BS, though. As long as you read and participate you will do well. He is extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter and is a very funny guy. I really suggest you take this class!
Larry is the best and most memorable teacher I have ever had. i loved him, if you are willing to pay attention and work hard it is more than possible to get a 4.0 in his class. I learned a lot more than just the subject matter.
The best instructor I've had in my entire education, hands down. As long as you listen in class and do your work, you will pass this class without a problem. I would recommend him to anyone. =D
Massey is a really clear teacher, his lessons are engaging and really helpful. I used the book a little bit, however his lessons cover most of what goes into his weekly quizzes, so just go to class and you will be fine! He is very approachable on questions with projects or papers, so make sure and take advantage of that. Great teacher!
This class is challenging but Massey finds ways to help those who need it. He is a very entertaining teacher and keeps your attention. If you take this class be sure you're ready to participate in the lecture or you'll end up with a poor grade.
difficult to comprehend. very nice guy but hes kind of sassy. difficult class as a whole.
Loved this class! If you come to class and read the assignments it's not hard at all. But it's a real college class. Just showing up isn't good enough. Massey is sassy, and it's entertaining as hell!
Larry is a great guy with vast knowledge and experience. He sets a high standard for students but also sets you up for success if you follow his guidelines. I never missed a day; he always made attendance fun and worth your time. His #1 rule is to come prepared. Read each chapter and know how to answer the summary questions. Recommended! A+
Awesome professor and extremely interesting class! Mr. Massey makes you work hard for your grade, but he leads you to success. He does not tolerate slackers! If you are a hard worker, he sees your potential and will push you to go further with it. He has encouraged me more than any other professor ever has, even after graduation. Overall fun guy!
Wow, finally a junior college professor who makes his students WORK for their grades! Kudos to Massey for expecting the most out of his students. Don't take this class if you're planning on an easy grade... you have to actually show up for this one! Massey said it and I will admit it, I will really miss this class.
Probably the best teacher I've ever had. Made the subject clear, fun and interesting. Many people seemed to have trouble with the class. Mainly those who don't wanna show up to class. I wish he could teach all my classes!
Larry is pretty entertaining, except when he tells me to "Shut Up". I know he was teasing me and I have struggled a lot on the tests. I would recommend anyone to take Larry, even though I struggled a lot until the last few weeks of Summer Quarter 2009.
One of the best classes I have taken at the Falls, and one of my favorite teachers. Mr. Massey is such a great teacher and he really helped us work on what the class was designed for which was diversity. I learned a lot and was impressed with Mr Massey's knowledge.
Rocking teacher, very sophisticated and energetic, knows his stuff everywhere in the world. You will love him take him guaranteed pass well if you try =) !!!
Loved this class, very interesting and entertaining. Make sure though you are prepared for his class its not easy, but its so worth it. Loved the class and loved him!!! PS. don't yawn without covering your mouth, hell call you out and its embarrassing.
Larry is a great teacher i really really enjoyed his class and would take him again gladly very good teacher can seem like a ass but he isn't
Mr.Massey is really awesome teacher. He's fun and knowledgeable. He knows what he is talking about. Make sure you are prepared before going to the class then it would not be hard to pass the class.
AMAZING CLASS! I highly recommend to anyone. Massey is hilarious and extremely knowledgeable. He will help you with anything, so passing is easy as long as you do your part as a student. Take this class! Massey is a badass.
GREAT TEACHER! Inside and out of class he is extremely knowledgeable, and gained my respect the very first day. The class isn't easy, but he will make you WANT to do the work. He has a way about him that motivates you to do things you never have. Also a very good class for learning how to deal with multiple different cultures and people. 5 STARS!
Mr. Massey is a great teacher. The class is not easy, but he does a LOT to help you get through it all. He comes off as mean and picky at first, but that seems to mostly motivate you to do the homework. He is really a great guy and awesome teacher. You will learn a lot about other cultures from him, trust me he knows. Take this class!
Instructor Massey has experienced the real world, and has amassed an excellent understanding of how systems work. He is willing to share and provide assistance to students prepared to take themselves to new heights. Always entertaining and witty. I enjoyed Larry's courses and wish more professors would approach students in the same manner. A+
Larry Massey is unquestionably the best insturctor I have had. He is by no means an easy A, you have to truly understand the material to score well. Attend class and don't be late. You will learn a lot from him if you learn to get alng with his personality. If you are reluctant to recieve advice, or a stubborn know it all, you will not wd well.
Great instructer! Very modern and up to date as he can be. He is very worldy and respects his students. He is always organized and makes his students feel comfortable and confident. Very reasonable, blunt and straight forward. He is very approachable and wants to see all his students succed. ONe of the best instructers i have had & very usefull
Best teacher I have ever had. Class was continuously challenging and behind this teachers bravado is an extremely caring teacher. He expects a lot and treats all students equally. If you spend the time and effort he will work with you. Take copious notes and make sure to read the text of face getting kicked out of class!
Massey Is one of the best teachers I have had all throughout college. genuine guy willing to help you if you need it! He comes off harsh at first but he will grow on you, people that are easily offended don't take the class but otherwise I would recommend him 100%!!! Loved the class taking more in the spring!
Massey is annoyingly abrupt, and says thing like he sees them. He will break you until you drop the class or turn into a model student. He is by far the best instructor at SFCC, but if you want him to like you...you have to earn it. The class is great, his teaching is incomparable. He will help any student with anything they need if they want it!
Larry is intelligent and passionate about his classes He has extreme understanding about intercultural communications and public speaking. His work and education history plus his life experience gives him a unique perspective on the material. He always pursues to keep his students interested and engaged on a deep level. Hysterical and abrupt!
Massey is by far one of the best professors I've had. He truly understands the material he is teaching & has a wealth of intercultural experience that makes the class even better. He knows how to get what he wants from his students. You have to work for your grade & really understand the material. You also need a strong spine & a good sense of humor
The best instructor ever he well break you until you give in or drop he is crystal clear treats you like a actual adult and he actually goes over the book but make sure to not yawn in class or get caught with your phone he will not hesitate to throw you out of class but overall you have to earn you grade and respect in his class.
Absolutely wonderful teacher. He is not one of those teachers that teaches straight from the book. He has lived full and eventful life and his knowledge of the rest of the world and of intercultural experiences is incredible. He is very straight forward, but there is never a dull moment in his class. Read! Or he'll send you home!
AMAZING TEACHER! Cover your mouth when you yawn, leave your cell-phone in your pocket, don't talk when he's talking, and for God's sake read when the syllabus tells you to read! Massey has years of experience behind his teaching, not just book smarts. Classes are kept interesting and fun. Returns assignments ASAP! Do the work you'll get the grade!
Fantastic Professor. Do the required reading, pay attention to lectures, and participate in the class discussions and you will enjoy and get a lot out of his class.
Massey is without a doubt the best teacher I've had at SFCC. It was the one class I would genuinely look forward to each day. He has lots of life experiences that he can incorperate with lessons, but doesn't bore you with them like some teachers. As long as you read the book and apply it to the work you can't go wrong. Awesome person and teacher.
The best instructor at SFCC. Don't expect an easy grade, as you will earn your grade.
He's one of the most pompous people I've ever met. You'll learn a lot from the book, and have a quiz about once a week. He always uses powerpoints, and all his test questions are from the test bank.
Larry Massey is an awe-inspiring teacher. He is extremely articulate and has vast knowledge across a range of subjects. You won't be bored. Attend the class every day. Read. Respect his class.
Professor Massey is professional, communicates clearly, and is fair. He expects a lot from his class, but everything in the lectures and readings relate directly to the quizzes and tests, so just pay attention and you'll do well. He can come across as intimidating and austere, but he is an amazing teacher.
He is a great guy! very funny but he does expect a lot out of you so you will have to work pretty hard for good grades. He always gives you study guides and lets you know about big projects way ahead of time, so don't procrastinate!! I got a lot out of this class and he was tough but one of my favorite teachers here at the falls! Need more like him
He's kind of aggressive, but can give great feedback and is amazing to talk to if you enjoy learning about other cultures. The class will be an easy A if you truly want to learn, but you have to understand critical thinking otherwise you'll never pass the quizzes.
Mr. Massey makes you work for it for your. He can be grumpy and very sassy. But don't let this chase you away. Mr. Massey is one the greatest professors and people I have ever met. He helped me grow just not with my education, but also with my personal experiences. I want to say more, but I can't because my wording is limited. He gets 5 stars!
I hated his personality, he was extremely disrespectful to his students. He told everyone that he was trying to help them be better public speakers but would degrade them during their speeches.
I took this class in the Fall of 2015. He keeps things interesting, but if keeping things interesting means making fun of a student, he will do it. He is very opinionated and can come off very rude. If you have tough skin, you will be able to handle this class. He can be funny, but takes it too far sometimes.
Best professor at SFCC, hands down. You're going to earn your grade. Mr. Massey, actually makes communications interesting, because he, actually has traveled all around the world.
I must say that by far Larry Massey is the best teacher I have ever in my academic carreer. Taking his class was life changing and the way he taught kept us all involved. I recommend this class to everybody that I know and would be happy to take a different class taught by him, however it's not an easy class and if you plan on floating by dont.
Massey was really fun and made the class engaging. He has some rules that take a little while to get used to, but you'll feel so glad that he made them. There is a lot of reading, but honestly that's basically the only thing you need to do to pass the test. You have to be ready to laugh at yourself, but every day of class is so much fun with him.
Massey forever broke the way I see other teachers. I had grown used to the mediocre 'death by powerpoint' teachers. Massey is a teacher that teaches from experience and has something to say. Know, however, that it is his class, not yours. His rules in the syllabus aren't just guidelines, they are the way you will act in his classroom.
Really enjoyed this class. I epically messed up my paper because I didn't understand his outline. Should have asked for help! still highly enjoy the class though. Tests are pretty hard I actually don't know where he gets any of the questions he comes up with. He knows what he is talking about from personal experience. He makes a boring class fun!
Really enjoyed this class! He has a very strict no phone policy which made everyone talk to each other and I ended up really getting to know all my classmates! Pretty hard class though but if you participate and read the book (or at least skim it) he will help your grade! And if you are confused any time during the class just ASK FOR HELP!!!!
great professor, learned a lot. can come off a bit rude at times but really cares about the betterment of his students.
The class was ok and not too difficult , but this guy was one of the rudest professors Ive ever had. He didnt respect anyone in the class except the brown nosers.
Really great professor can come off as rude to some but hes just very straight forward and real with you.
I really appreciated this guy. My main complaint is that he swears A LOT, which I personally don't appreciate. He does have a harsh personality, but if you are willing to do the assignments the way he says, he'll reward you. He really does care about his students, and class time was frequently more of an interesting discussion than a lecture
The very first week of school I had a question about an announcement he had put up. When I asked him he simply just resent the announcement via email. When I asked for clarification he simply condescended me and told me that I need to pay more attention because apparently I wasn't trying. So you're not allowed to ask questions.
Gave about a quiz a week. Do your reading and show up to lectures and you should be fine. Theres a big group project at the end for the final. Overall good teacher and I learned a lot!
He is the BEST instructor that I took for online classes within my entire academic journey. He put lots of effort to make the course useful and enjoyable. As an international student, after taking this class, I know about Amerian and other cultures much more than I ever had before in any place. Available to email you back within a few minutes.
I took CMST227 online due to the quarantine restrictions put in place around February 2020. Larry Massey offers an online classroom that is comparable to an on campus classroom. His adaptation to use of technology, willingness to work with students, and fast response times make the online learning environment nearly stress free.
I took Massey's intercultural communications class and enjoyed it so much I signed up for his communications 101 class the next quarter. Be ready to participate in class discussions! You can tell he really cares for his students and goes above and beyond to support and inspire. Couldn't ask for a better professor and mentor.
I am an international student, I took it as part of my BAS' requirements. I have the honor to be taught by Mr. Larry, as he behaves interactively with us & expects us to respond continuously during the lecture. what I liked most is knowing the US culture deep, in addition to working within the groups spirituality to perform the final assignment.
I took Larry's online spring class. Heavy reading with 1-2 chapters per week with a quiz on each chapter. There's one 6-8 page paper where he provides the outline and one group project at the end of your quarter. It's a lot of work but he's a good instructor who puts in a lot of effort himself. Have thick skin, show up, do the work, get an A.
Taking Mr. Massey's class was a true treat. I am an international student from the Netherlands, so making a switch to US professors was at first uninspiring. Taking Mr Massey's class however felt like a breath of fresh air. Highly intelligent and inspiring man. 350 characters does no justice to the enjoyment I received taking his class!
Mr. Massey was a great teacher whos cares about the students in his class. He reminds me of the lobster from spongebob!
I really dont recommend to take this class with Massey and he wants to write 8 pages and its hard to get satisfied with him even though his class is super easy but he makes big subject and go to take it online with other instructor or with others in person
I really dont recommend to take this class with Massey and he wants to write 8 pages and its hard to get satisfied with him
Larry's teaching method is to ask the same question over & over until someone answers. If they answer wrong, he will make fun of them for it & then resume asking the question. If he's in a good mood, eventually he'll answer himself and move on. If he's in a bad mood, he'll just kick the class out early. Then he'll scold you for not participating.
Not a great class. You need to be comfortable with lots of swearing and tough grading. If you don't participate, he'll tell you to leave class for the day. Do all the work! There is a VERY strict no-phone policy which lets the class come together and talk a lot. That's fun. I felt like the class wasn't a safe space, but I did like making friends.
Amazing professor who genuinely has the interest of students at heart. He wants students to grasp the real concept of education and not just about getting good grades. He is very knowledgeable and will further research about things he does not know or too sure of. He likes to interact in class and highly encourage students to talk to each other.
Great Prof and course, I would take the course again. Massey treats you like an adult and if you do the work the course is very insightful for personal growth. Also it's obvious he cares about your personal growth, just have to work for it obviously.
Make sure you speak up in his class! He ends lectures early if you aren't talking and it will make quizzes more difficult. Prepare for a man to tell you that you are wrong all the time. During presentations he will cut you off and give his own information. Wear your mask correctly but he's fine to swap and forget his.
I took Larry's class last fall and it was a great experience. He is humorous, smart, experienced and has endless stories to tell. He is a bit of a harsh critic but not for no reason. He is very tough when it comes to class participation, but he holds up his own end too, he responds to all questions quickly and efficiently. Would take again!
This class was an awesome experience. If you hesitate to take this class, go for it. Mister Massey make his lecture intressting and accessible (as an International student English is my second language). His knowledge, experience and humor make this class unique. + Accessible and open to dialogue + Intressting and hilarious + Fair
He can be a difficult grader, he still very understanding, and is willing to help students if needed. He responds to emails very quickly, and he clearly does his best to make his lectures fun and interesting!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. He made lectures so interesting and I feel like I actually learned. He is also super funny. He can be strict tho so just be a good student cause he will call u out
The best professor I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. Massey is eminently interesting and engaging with his extensive real world experience and hilarious personality. Be prepared to have your critical thoughts ignited with memorable lectures and the most fun group projects I have ever participated in. 10/10 would take him again!
Although strict, he is a very engaging (and entertaining) professor, gives grades fairly as you work to earn. Guidelines and expectations are clearly laid out. Class consists of lectures on weekly reading, quizzes on sections, and 2 major projects (one of which is a group project). Lectures are expected to be class discussions.
Really great guy. It does get a little tougher at the end!
Larry's class was an experience. He says what he wants even if it is very rude. The final was to do group presentations and he would interrupt the presenters and be very rude to them. I did learn a lot from this class though because sometimes people in life (like Larry) are going to be unreasonable and be mean. His lectures were fantastic though.
Professor Massey is a character. He can be fairly strict, but is overall well knowledged. I will say there was a lot of reading in his class. There was a huge group project at the end of the quarter.
I truly thought this teacher was amazing. He knew what he was talking about and helped you to understand if you didn' t, you were told to ask for help and ask questions. Particiapation, taking notes and reading will get you an A in the class. Everything was made clear once or twice so pay attention! One of my favorite teachers, I'd fs reccomend him
Would NOT recommend this class to anyone. Massey is very disrespectful to students and constantly condescends students and makes them feel bad for asking questions; even though we are graded on participation. Will tell you that you are wrong if a statement you make is not how he pictured it in his mind. His feedback is not helpful and very passive.
I thought Massey was great. Tough grader on his chapter quizzes and doesn't provide very clear feedback on why he grades you the way he does. Had great conversations and learned a lot more than I thought I would about intercultural communications from a 60 something year old white guy.
Okay first, his lectures were ok, he taught well. BUT he grades your participation so you NEED to speak up twice every class, he will make the most sarcastic comments. He bragged about how he has cheated on every women he has been with, and will make jokes about how women are bad at communicating. He basically bullies anyone who says "um" a lot.
This professor gives very interesting lectures and is a good teacher but a horrible person. He had very obvious favorites in class, swore constantly, and would make fun of students. He called me a slur on the second day of class for speaking Spanish with an accent and made fun of me and others later on in the year. Think twice about this class!
Larry is pretty fun professor. You are expected to read a chapter and take a test each week. As long as you keep up with the reading, these tests are relatively easy. The hardest part of this class was the long cultural identity paper and the group presentation at the end of the quarter. If you mess these up, you are screwed.
He belittles his students and asks questions that can be interpreted many different ways and gets upset when you don't interpret it the way he meant. He mocked me in front of my classmates multiple times and said that I would never be a leader because I said "Umm".
Professor gave me severe anxiety due to calling out students for not giving answers he wants. He asks weirdly worded, specific questions and sends the class away when no one participates. You must pay attention to the reading AND lectures in order to answer chapter quizzes correctly. He has mocked me for speaking too quietly and when I've said "um"
There is an unfair group project at the end of the quarter. No matter how bad or good one person does, the entire group gets the same grade, and it is 25% of your grade for the class. It would be smart if he had individual grades and then grading done by the peers. He is rude to students a lot and thinks he is always right. A 4.0 is really hard.
Wouldn't suggest taking this professor. He refuses to help you on assignments and instead asks rhetorical questions. He curses a lot in class then says it helps release tension after being unprofessional. Very full of himself as he asks class wide questions and looks for his own type of right answers. Really not sure how he has a good score here.
This professor prioritizes control over effective teaching. Even when following assignment instructions closely, points are often deducted with vague and unhelpful feedback. The focus seems more on asserting authority than on helping students understand the material or succeed in the course.
He was inappropriate during class and was rude to students. He made a girl cry during her presentation. Participation was huge, absolutely MUST participate and cannot miss assignments. He shamed and belittled me and other students every class. He was almost impossible to schedule Zoom meetings with to get help. Skip it before you take his class
This teacher will make you fell dumb in every class that you go to. He does not care about how you feel. He will grade you down and not explain why. He will call kids out in class and say things like, "I thought you would know" based on the way that student looked. He has terrible study guides that are not helpful. Please read before you struggle.
HORRIBLE. That's the best way to describe Massey. He is not in this profession for the right reason. You will be disrespected over and over. The school will not do anything about it so don't waist your time going to get help. Zero feedback on quiz he just likes to argue to make himself feel better. PLEASE listen do not have a misserable quarter.
Please listen to the reviews that are graded with a 1/5. I was super close with the professor and got along super well. I know the inside and out of this course and can tell you that Massey is horrible. Horrible person and professor. He does not care about you. He is super unprofessional and only cares that he keeps getting paid. LISTEN!!!!
Don't recommend in the slightest. Gives very vague feedback that isn't helpful. He encourages people to participate but then belittles you if you say an answer that he isn't looking for. Just overall would not recommend, if you have to take this class and you have the opportunity to take it with a different professor please take it!
Feedback can be vague at times. Grading felt a little random towards the end of the quarter. Don't take this class if you can't handle being called out or being publicly criticized. This professor is sarcastic and can come off as rude, but can be funny if you're used to that kind of humor. Will interrupt you, especially during group presentations.
His lectures are mainly based on reiterating the textbook's content, so I didn't find it necessary to use aside from the online quizzes. He constantly picks on his students unprovoked and made one cry mid-presentation in my class. Definitely not a great person to learn intercultural communication skills from as his own are unfortunately lacking.
Professor Massey can be strict but engages the class well. Lots of reading and a challenging group project, but manageable with diligence. unstuck study proved a helpful study tool alongside the textbook.
He is very smart and knows his material very well. Seems nice at first but if you don't say exactly what he was thinking in his head he will belittle, interrupt, and make you feel stupid for even talking but then makes participation 30% of your grade. Unless you're his favorite you will only leave class regretting you took it.
My rating of 1/5 is based upon Larry's conduct and interactions with students. He commented on the appearance of students, stated that he loves lying, belittled students, & frequently bragged about himself. If you value professors with tact & respect then I would not recommend his classes. Overall, he created a hostile environment.
This man's class was a joke. Nothing he did made sense. Very unclear instructions and would grade outside his own grading rubric. Clear favoritism towards students, answers were deemed correct/incorrect based off his own definitions. Made generalizations about everyone and everything. Ps. Watch out, he'll call you and your race uneducated…
He makes lectures interesting, humorous, and it is important to take notes. I showed up late to our final group project, but just in time to present my part. He made my team decide to make me do a 15 pg paper & receive B or grade me same & we all get C-. He emailed us over canvas next day that he changed his mind and there was "no harm no foul."
As someone who received a 4.0 in his class I can say that his class was horrible. He bullied several girls until they cried during their presentation and made me feel stupid for believing in God. If you make a point, he can't refute he will talk over you and ignore you. If you are already in the class, use ChatGPT on quizzes and find a "" from TB
I like him as a person; he's funny, but the way he grades is crazy. It's a guessing game of what he's thinking. He wants a very specific answer to a broad question. When questioned in class he gets mad when no one answers but belittles you if you're wrong. Also the participation points are based on what he remembers, which isn't very accurate.
I liked him to be honest. Sometimes he was in a bad mood and picked on students who weren't paying attention. But, I actually learned more in his class than anyone else's at this school. And our personalities actually gelled pretty well. I'd recommend it.
I don't want to sound like karen or offended little girl, but Larry was the most unintentionally funny yet frustrating professor I've had. Throughout the whole course, he belittled students. He often avoided giving clear answers and would dismiss questions he didn't care about. The lectures were disorganized and not helpful at all.
While he's not the best professor, he's also not the worst. Pros: - He makes jokes and can be funny. - He tries sometimes to connect with students. Cons: - He is strict on attendance. - If you turn something in late, it's a zero. - He openly criticizes your presentation abilities and the presentation itself while you are presenting.
Very tough but also focused more on real world knowledge than textbook stuff. Speak up lots, don't be afraid to challenge him. He respects a student who can share their opinions. Take advantage of his office hours, use quotes in the quizzes. Talk to him before and after class. Don't be intimidated that he's like six foot something.
