He is not hard at all! The people that say he's hard must be dumb. You take an early midterm and final, which hardly count. It's the group project that really counts. I didn't study for either test and got a B in the class. He's a very nice guy!

All of the important concepts are bold in the text and the multiple choice tests are mostly based on the homework questions. Don't take his class if you're an ESL student as there will be a lot of communication/interaction with classmates in English only

really cool guy grades well doesnt let you down..

is supportive of your speeches and shows lots of interest in each students speech. wants you to succeed. very inspirational teacher. except on his exams. exams are pretty long. easy but too long.

he is very unorganized, u gotta keep up with the speeches yourself, he gave our entire class 2 wks 2 do speeches b/c he missed a bunch of days. very unorganized

okay, the dude is nice. But, hes too happy, hes disorganzie. And he makes things boring when he points out stuff any idiot would understand. He needs to be less directive and teach his students like they have intelligence.

He is a GREAT teacher. Easy going and friendly. He is willing to help you with your grade and everything. His class is fun and made me open up alots. Test is easy and final is a group project. Very easy and fun class

dude this guy is soooo cool i recommend him big time..hes so caring and like off the wall youll love him..class is easy and hes a good grader...may seem confusing but hes really cool...

No problem for regular English students, and it's also possible for ESL students to get As for speeches.

great get him on his good side and you will pass the class with an A, i did and i failed all his test

easy a. sure beats speech 1a. doesn't quite cover all materials during lecture, but simple tests. all you need is common sense and you'll do fine. group projects- be creative and clear,(videos are recommended) this is the biggest part of your grade.

I think his class is easy,he will let u see ur cheat notes during the test.All of test questions are in ur disc and u can write those questions in ur cheat notice.So,don't worry about cannot pass his class.

Easy exams, as long as you go over the CD. Talked to us about his own experiences, but wasn't really interesting. Have to do a presentation for final. A lot of group participations. If you're not a group person, don't take this class.

Great teacher one of my favorite teacher in Pasadena City college.

One of my favorite teacher in Pasadena City college. He is very nice and easy-going. This professor got some humor in him.

He the most sweets old man ever. He remind me of my grandfather. Dude I total fail the midterm until he told the class that all the test question is on CD that comes with the book. It just common sense. Just make should u dude all the assigment and project. then u do fine.

Study the CD! Be up on your APA format for the presentation part. A lot of group work, but an easy A. Old school values, which was really refreshing! VERY highly recommended!

well what can i say guys, he is a good professor.. just as long as you are prepared and can mumble something infront of the class you can pass the class.. i got an A and i thought i was failing

dude all of the questions on the midterm are on the CD -rom that comes with the book... i really mean ALL of them! so if you study that.. and do the project ... its an easy grade

He's very nice and optimistic. Not strict when it comes to grading. You'll have to present 4 speeches (2 persuasive, 2 informative) and take 3 tests. Test aren't hard if you read the little book. Also, at times he's pretty late and unorganized. His class may be boring but it's a social class, so i recommend you interact with others.

Hey, I actually thought he was pretty clear. I personally preferred him to the two substitutes that we had. I especially didn't like the sub that we had on the day of the final. McGill is enthusiastic, and I felt like I could've spoken my mind in that class if I would have chosen to. Final was a breeze. Easy A, definitely.

Boring but easy, so who cares. Taking him if you want an easy A, and you won't regret it.

Easy teacher. Nice guy. Sometimes he talks too much and you're late for next class. Occasionally he gets so wrapped up in his ideas that I think he loses his point.

He is a nice professor. To pass just read the book and purchase new so you can get the cd. Do the quizzes on the cd and you'll pass the midterm and final easily. And make sure you do a good job on the group project cause it's a good part of your grade. Its an easy A.

Easy class, but with a big group project at the end. If you're sociable, you'll meet a lot of people. This guy isn't very organized, trails off, takes too long, and contradicts himself in the syllabus with the rules for a group project. Can't help but get mad at him for that. He's cool though, if your patient. Easy.

study a little for 3 tests, and follow his syllabus to prepare the speech's note cards and outline, everyone can get a A!

Hes a good professor but tends to trail off in his lectures and goes on and on.But Easy A. You must have the cd rom with the book because all the answers to his Final & midterm are in it! Most important grading is the group project at the end which is fairly easy also. as long as you meet all the requirments You'll get an A!

Really, this guy is a terrible professor, but getting a good grade is very easy. Study the CD in the textbook to guarantee an A. Just try not to get on his bad side. McGill LOVED (like thought it was the best thing he had ever seen!) my group's final project but we forgot to give him a copy so he docked all our final grades to a B. LAME!!!

Great Teacher. Easy A. Really a great mentor, he goes off his teachings sometimes but i thought he did a good job at teaching alot of students about life. Easy speeches, and tests. Just go up and do your speeches the way he wants and yo will be fine. 100% recommend him to anyone who wants a speech class for an easy A.

you dont have to study for the test that much, he grades on a curve. the speeches are easy, just make sure to do your outline, reference sheet, and note cards. if you need any help just go to his office.hes willing to go over your entire outline, references, and overall speech to help you improve it. hes cool!

I took him in the 80s and thought he was a fine teacher. He was very helpful and I got out of the class what I put into it. A fine teacher and a good man.

I took this class my first semester at PCC. Im not a very smart person, i suck at every subject, but im shocked that people rate this guy like this. He woudl add 20% on whatever your test grade was. HEs such a nice guy. Simple hw. Only yack part was the project, but eh meet some people and ull be cool. I got a freakin B, and i failed every test.

He is nice but preachy and disorganized. He says he is Moses and often says hot diggity often. Overall, if you do the work and pay attention you will succeed in the class. good luck :)

1)occasionally late to class unprepared(resulting to leaving classroom to print papers)2)I feel angry that 20 minutes to 1 hour beginning class times are gone for role calling or grading papers at every single class meeting. 3)Disorganized.Positives: 1)cares that students do well. 2)generous to help;gives slacks to students.

Very sweet professor. I took him during winter time and everything went in a fast paced. The tests were fairly easy because I read the book before I took the test. The tests were also curved, if it wasn't then my grade would have been average. The presentation is comprehensive as well. Overall, I got an A from doing all the work.

As far as grading, just read the book (it's SUPER short) and you'll do well. Tests are SUUUUUPER easy, and has one group presentation at the end of the class. This teach means well, but yes, he is a bit preachy. He's a little out of touch, but these are all just personal critiques. Bottom line- if you want an easy A, take this guy.

this class was pretty easy. if you fail you're an idiot. i recommend to take this class during an intersession, so you won't have to do a long 10+ page paper. you do a skit instead. he tells you what you need to know on the tests. easy A. just read the book, some people need to learn some communication skills up in here!

Mr. Mc Gill can be frustrating because he's a little forgetfull and disorganized. If he had points for being empathetic he would have a million. Do your work and your cool, The textbook is actually interesting too. He may check ur paper 4 times and find a new mistake everytime, but he allows you to correct it and bring it back later. Overall Hes ok

Easy class. You won't learn much about speech, though. It is a good class just for getting your GE and units. Two tests, answers come straight out of the CD from the textbook. No homework. Final is a DVD presentation about a subject. Very easy grader. Highly recommended. Do nothing on finals week :D

I love professor McGill. He's such a sweet man and his class was enjoyable. Reading the textbook will teach you a lot about interpersonal communication. His class is very straight forward and easy to pass. The final project was to make a video with a group and was fun to make. Would def recommend!

Mr. McGill's speech 10 was one if the classes I took my first semester at Pcc. It was a 7 am class but I didn't find it hard to be there and pay attention. He's very generous with grading and the work was pretty easy. Definitely not hard to get an A. I personally enjoyed his style of teaching. He's a sweet man. I recommend him.
