Professor Hald is a really fun teacher. She's also a really easy teacher honestly. I don't pay attention in class, just look at the powerpoints online and I almost have 100 in the class. Very nice teacher with great humor, gives lots of extra credit assignments. Her lectures are pretty boring and her power point slides are not very detailed. Quizzes are hard if you don't study a lot, the questions can be hard to understand. Passing without reading the book is not very likely.

There were literally just 4 major tests and also the final. She's very laid back and it is possible to pass the class without attending. She mostly posts important stuff through eCompanion. Honestly, if you attend the class to the point where you do not get dropped, you can still pass. She posted her Test Reviews and those help A LOOOT. Easy A!!!

Lectures can be long and boring, but she's honestly a really cool teacher. Only thing that bugged me was that she was very reliant on the PowerPoints. Sometimes she didn't know how to present a slide without relying on the info in the slides. Other than that, she knows the information and is always there to help. Gives extra credit. Only 4 tests.

Four 3 pg HW(super fair), 1 test(hard) and poster presentation(cake if u did all the hw papers). Very clear grading criteria , can be a lil confusing,ask questions(super supportive).In sum: great prof with lots of experience, an A is inevitable if u just do what she says and revise it with her as many times as possible.

She's an easy A if you study from the study guides she gives you (not many profs give study guides.) Her lectures are long & boring but sometimes she has the class interact with each other.

By far one of my favorite professors at SMC. Hald is super sweet and caring and always there to answer any questions you have for her. If she does not have the answer right away, she writes it down and gets back to you. Her study guides are pretty straight foreward and helpful for the tests. Do the readings, take good notes, and you will pass.

Professor Hald is by-far my favorite professor. She really cares about her students and wants to help you succeed. Her lectures were straight-forward and covered everything you needed to know for the tests. Because of this class, I was inspired to pursue a Psychology major.

I really enjoyed Prof Hald's class. There is a lot of information covered on slides, but she tries to make it more interesting by having activities throughout class. She takes into consideration different peoples learning styles, and the activities help you to remember information that will be on the tests. Highly recommend!

Great prof! Show up to class and really pay attention, review her slides to study for exams. Stresses participation in class. 3 midterms (lowest grade dropped), 2 papers (literature review, project proposal) and the final poster + presentation. Several extra credit opportunities. The class is REALLY not difficult if you pay attention + do the work.

WONDERFUL! She posts all her notes online & gives easy XC on the tests. In class, she gives ex.s that will stick with you. Great study guides. She's funny & gets the class involved. Attendance per class is 2 points, so missing class, you do get 2 points docked off participation but you can make up for it elsewhere. AN A IS SO ACHIEVABLE, TAKE HER!!

This class may seem hard but if you do the work with time, you will realize it isn't that hard. There are 3 exams, 2 papers & the final poster presentation.

Professor Hald is probably one of the best professors Ive had at SMC. She makes material easy and straightforward. Posts notes & study guides online and offers extra credit. Lowest test score is also dropped. Shes super caring and patient and rly does her best to make sure students understand material. Def recommend!!

I had Professor Hald a while back but she was def one of my favorite professors& rly cares about you. I took her scholars class but she made it seem so easy! Prof Hald is one of the best! I don't like psychology but I looked forward to her class every day. She has creative examples (games, candy/food, videos) that make concepts memorable, study guides are very clear, extra credit offered for each test, and 4 lowest participation grades dropped plus lowest test dropped. Also, the textbook is free!

Amazing Pyschology teacher!

Professor Hald is extremely passionate about her field, she puts thought into every lecture and makes sure all of her students understand the material. In her lessons, she creates relatable examples that keep her students interested in the topics she teaches. I highly recommend taking her class!

Textbook was OER meaning it's free. Amazing lectures. 16 points of extra credit overall. The lowest grade of midterm would be dropped. I went to her office hour every time before the test, it was super helpful. Each midterm consisted of 35 multiple choice and 5 short answers. Final was all multiple choice questions. Wish she could teach Psy14.

I appreciated her helpful comments on my papers after she graded them- they were not copy&paste comments, but thoughtful. By the way, the first paper might seem kind of overwhelming, but make sure you do it.

I took her test but no one really talks about her tests there are 4 tests and one final 30 multiple questions + one extra credit and 5 short writing questions but her test are really tricky her class is easy and her study guide is easy but the test.. its really hard.. i just wanted to share

Professor Hald made research methods fun? It's a lot of work but she breaks down every section in a way that doesn't make it seem overwhelming. She's so nice and genuinely cares about her students. I fell in love with her. She is amazing. Like any subject, you have to study extensively in order to get good grades in the tests, which were not extremely hard to begin with. The only grades we received in the class were some minor weekly assignments since we were online and then 3 lab reports. Professor Hald is very good about reviewing material students don't understand, which is good because a lot of it can seem confusing at first. At the end of the day, she wants you to get an A just as much as you do.

Professor Hald has been the best professor I have taken during the pandemic. Her assignments and lectures are super accessible and in well-organized modules. I took psych 1 with Professor Hald over winter and I seriously cant recommend her enough. Each lecture is very inspirational and she explains everything in a way very easy to understand. 11/10 recommend taking her you wont regret it.

I liked this class. I ended with a 90 I wouldn't have if I didn't do the extra credit. Study for the tests. Final is worth a big chunk of your grade. Prof. is very nice and caring. She is there for you. attend her office hours, do all extra credit. she drops the lowest test scores! so that helps a lot.

Do not regret taking this professor. The assignments are not easy A's so make sure you actually participate, it's easy to get lost. Her lectures are interactive with a lot of fun prompts and the group assignments and projects made this class easier (for me).

Prof. Hald was amazing! I took her hybrid class, which was super organized, and she was accessible outside of class. It was clear how much compassion she had, but she still held us accountable for our work. She was generous and flexible in extending due dates (especially on experiment reports), and group work for in-class sessions was necessary.

Wonderful course experience, I learned so much about research, there is so much more to research than simply the scientific method. I had a wonderful group (Team 7), the lectures are very intriguing. It is a lot of writing, there is ample time to complete each writing assignment. Extra credit is available. 10 out of 10, highly recommend.

All exams were done on computer. We had notes for our final. She really engages with the class and have us do activities in groups. A really fun class and an easy given A. She's such a sweet teacher too.
