NOTE: THIS IS NOT A LECTURE!!! She treats the lab like a lab! She is very helpful: answers any questions before quizzes, briefly explains lab activities and goes around the lab asking if you need help! If only she taught Anatomy and Physiology...
Loved this instructor she gets right to the point she is extremely helpful, she wants her students to succeed. Highly Recommend; tests are hard but you will do fine if you study she gives all the information you need to know
Excellent Teacher!!! She is very clear and tests are fair and according to what is lectured. I took her for Lab as well and is excellent as well. You will not regret taking her classes. Besides that she is pretty hot!
Took her bio & lab and she is good. During lab, she introduces the lesson then let you do your own thing. In biology, her tests are hard so you have to study. Her notes are pretty clear so just study and you'll be fine :)
She is great- funny and considerate. If you miss a deadline, she just says "make sure to get it in next week" with no points deducted, and she gives you lecture outlines everytime as well as study guides and no homework. Love her! Very good teacher. A+
Dr. Freeman is my favorite professor so far! She is amazing. She prints out her lectures for you and we rarely ever stayed the entire length of the class. She's very interesting and easy to understand. Never used the book!
Leah is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is intelligent and passionate about her field and tries to make class exciting and interesting. She hands out lecture slides and I rewrote / studied those and filled out reviews for tests and got A's on everything. Can't recommend Leah enough! YOU DO NOT NEED THE (overpriced) BOOK.
Leah is a great teacher. She prints out the powerpoint lectures for everyone and gives you a study guide before a test. She also goes over the study guide the class before. We had like 5 assignments with out final being volunteer hours or a research paper. Super cool teacher and super funny.
The Best Teacher I have ever had in my entire life. SHE ROCKS!! If you want to learn Biology, she will most definitely help lay a solid foundation.
Leah is one of the best professors Ive ever had! She is extremely intelligent and always willing to help. She keeps your interest on the topic at hand. I wish she also taught Microbiology!
Leah is seriously the best teacher i have had at CNM. She is very intelligent & hilarious! She makes learning the material very easy, and the lab tied in with lecture. Too bad she doesn't teach Micro or A&P... :(.... TAKE LEAH you wont regret it! She also makes sure you are very prepared for exams and quizes...goes over everything before!
Leah is awesome. She makes sure everyone in the class is learning. I took her for Biology for non-majors and all she wanted was for everyone to learn something since they probably will not take another Biology class.
Dr. Freeman is an amazing instructor! I took her Bio 1410 lecture in the spring and the lab this fall. She's very approachable and willing to help in any way she can. She has a passion for biology and really knows her stuff. She's one of the best instructors I've ever had.
I took Leah for my 1410 bio and am taking her again for Anatomyphysiology, and she is absolutely amazing! She is always happy to answer any questions or help anyone. Her lectures are to the point and can be easy if notes are taken and you pay attention. She has a great sense of humor too! She is a blast and I would take her again if possible!!
I have taken 3 classes with Leah. She lets you know exactly what she expects. If she doesn't know something, she won't expect you to know it. You walk away from her class knowing that you actually learned and understood the concepts she taught. She gives no busy work, only work that actually helps you. If there is any way you can take her, do it.
Ms. Freeman is the bomb! She loves what she does and is hilarious. You'll definitely learn something from her. Tests are pretty straight forward if you pay attention in class.
Leah is an amazing professor. Extra credit on the tests is great. First time she's taught A&P and she didn't really figure out what she wanted us to learn, so we were expected to know a lot. For the final, she gave us pages and pages to study and then we were only tested on 110th of it. Memorize 3 types of this and 4 of that and 6 of that . .
Made a tough subject palatable. Drops lowest quiz score, and lectures are not "pre-fab" from publisher. Her quizzes are taken from her chapter review, her chapter review is taken from her lecture. Gives an outline for a study guide prior to the quiz which she takes her quiz questions from. Study hard and you will get an "A"
Leah is a great instructor. She makes sure everyone understands the material before she quizzes you on it each lab. She also gives extra credit on the quizzes which is pretty nice as well! I highly recommend taking her for lab!
Leah Freeman is clear on all important concepts you need to know to pass exams. She wants you to succeed in her course. She puts a lot of work and time into her powerpoints and worksheets. This course couldn't be taught more clearly. If it's not on her powerpoints, then it won't be on the exams. If you do the work sheets and study. You'll do fine.
She is an AMAZING instructor!! I would recommend her to anyone!!!
Leah is awesome! Loved her, Can't wait to take her for A&P!
Leah is super nice! She will accept late homework. But I still hate her class. Her tests are extremely hard!! A test is going to cover at least 4 chapters and her 50,000 power points that you need to know backwards and forwards! I prefer to learn from taking my own notes. I don't think I would take her again. Her tests questions are tricky!!
Very nice and helpful! She also has a funny personality that helps ease the class. A quiz every class that covers the previous post lab and the current pre lab which she goes over right before the quiz and all questions are taken directly from that so your guaranteed to do well. Only the midterm and final which is really easy. Highly reccomended!
Although Leah is extremely nice, her lectures are TERRIBLE! You can't ask her any questions because she gives you a response of "Umm, yeah I think it's this". She just reads off the powerpoints, which I can do myself! If you're looking for an easy A she is the one, but not if you want a clear understanding of the topics to be great clinicians.
This was Leah's first time teaching the 1092 lab and I think she did a great job. Each week you do a lab and the next week a quiz on the previous lab. If you attend class and pay attention, you should pass. She is pretty fun and makes biology enjoyable. The labs aren't too intense and the quizzes are about 8-10 questions. I would take her again.
Leah is by far one of my favorite professors, she is very willing to help and lets you know what needs to be done. Anatomy is not an easy subject, nor is Physiology so expect to study. She offers extra credit on exams which is nice. If you work hard you will do fine. I finished with a 103%. Leah is amazing!
AMAZING lectures. I never cracked the book because she her lectures are memorable and you LEARN. CNM is lucky to have her. She always offer extra credit on exams and is very responsive to any questions you have may have. Can't wait to take her for A&P!
I have taken Leah for all my bio classes and I am sad bio is over. Leah has been the BEST instructor I have ever had. She sincerely cares about her students. This class isn't easy but if you study and use her study guides/reviews, you can definitely achieve an A. I passed with 102%. TAKE HER!
Leah, is very great teacher. Gives you plenty of opportunity to succeed.
Leah is AMAZING . I had Bio2192, 2210 and 2310 with her I wish she would teach pathophysiology 1 and 2. She makes these classes enjoyable. Learning these subjects is not easy, specially in your second language, however Leah makes these classes simpler than it is. Be prepared to "fight" for a good seat in her class. A&P I and II were PACKED!
I absolutely love Leah! She's definitely the best instructor I've had at CNM. I took her for Bio 1410, A&P1 and about to take her for A&P2. She is hilarious and makes the lecture fun to learn from. Material is hard but she makes it easier!
Best instructor ever. She dumbs the hardest material down so its easy to understand. She gives extra credit and drops your lowest exam grade. She was amazing.
She has the ability to make the difficult material easy to understand. Her lectures are clear, concise, and on track with the syllabus. Tests are fair and she gives plenty of study materials. I would take her classes again! If you can take her classes, I HIGHLY recommend her!!!!! Be sure to go to class - it's well worth your time and grade!
Leah is an amazing teacher and also really funny. She doesn't lecture for long in the lab, and gets right to the nitty gritty when she does and then lets you get right to work. Of course if you have any questions she is more then helpful. Quiz every class but she always goes over the answers before. Show up and you'll pass
Her Bio Lab was straightfoward. She'll give more explanation if she has too. Mid terms and Final are in depth and demanding, know your material. Weekly quizes were easy enough. I'd take her again.
Great teacher, first ever bio class was with her. I definitley plan on taking another one of her classes, she is super organized and straightforward, nothing is really left to assumption or ambiguous. Her exams had reviews, which were very helpful and they aren't graded, they are just there to help you. Good memory + half-ass work A+
Leah is a good professor over all. Don't miss class! Her tests are a little hard but if you do her reviews that aren't for credit, it def helps. She doesn't always seem like she knows her stuff when students ask difficult questions. But I would still recommend.
She was a great instructor. If you pay attention and ask questions shes more than willing to answer
Shes amazing! Just read her lecture notes, do her study guides and especially worksheets and read her key that she posts for the worksheets. She has every resource for everyone to pass. She prints lecture notes for you, and you turn in easy review sheets at the end of class for an easy 3 pts that is counted for your attendance . She is the BEST!
Dr. Leah Freeman was amazing!! Was so scared to take Anatomy II after so many years out of school and I really excelled. Her lectures are anything from boring she is hilarious and is passionate about anatomy. Gave clear concise study guides and tests ALWAYS had extra credit! Awesome, awesome professor! Would definitely take her again!
Outstanding instructor. Truly cares about her students. Register early as her classes fill up quickly.
Great professor, she really knows her stuff and sets you up for success. You get credit just for attending 3 pts every class and she gives out a few easy homework assignments that benefit you for the tests. Tests are spoon-fed to you if you do the review sheets and she drops your lowest test grade. Would definitely take her again.
I think she is the BEST PROFESSOR EVER!! I also took her for BIO1492 and BIO2210. Her lectures are straight to the point, no confusion. She provides extra credit on the exams and is open to any questions. The homeworks are not difficult. I would take her again and again.
She is amazing! I took her from Bio 1410, Bio 2210, and Bio 2310 and got 98 or above on all. She funny and really down to earth. I would definitely recommend her if you are willing to put some work in. There is only 4 exams (with your lowest being dropped )and 1 final. The rest is just some small hw assignments in between.
an easy A class as long as you pay attention. she explains everything thoroughly and finds ways to keep you intrigued in the lectures.
She is amazing, she is clearly very knowledgeable and makes her lectures interesting. She used great examples to illustrate the material and her lectures are very informative. She occasionally gets a little distracted or off topic, but for the most part stays organized and on track. The tests come straight from her power points and reviews.
Leah is an amazing teacher and makes things very clear on a somewhat difficult topic. She is very caring and will do anything to help you. She is very relatable and gives her all in every lecture. You will need to study for exams but gives very clear Exam Reviews and homework assignments to study off of. Overall, her class is very enjoyable
Leah is the BEST A&P professor at CNM. She is so smart and only teaches you what is on the exam. She gives you a study guide & if you can do the study guide, you will be fine for the exam. I have taken A&P before & had to drop because I was going to get an F. I switched to Leah and now I'm at a 94% in her class and pass her test with flying colors.
Leah is not only a great teacher but a caring person. She is always available if you need help. She has 4 exams (lowest is dropped) and a final with a few homework assignments that help you learn the material. A&P is NOT an easy subject but she makes it fun and manageable. Use her optional worksheets & study guide and you will pass.
Leah is a GREAT teacher. She makes class very interesting & easy to pass. Do the homework & review sheets! Studying is very important, but she gives you everything you need. Youll pass no problem. I highly recommend her to everyone.
She is dry humored and is easy to understand. The assignments are pretty straight forward, she is willing to help and makes sure the class is fun. People who have a passion for Bio will especially love her. I highly recommend her lab.
Funny and super nice. Makes learning boring things not so boring.
This teacher was very kind and respectful the entirety of the semester. She gives credit where credit is due, treats her students with a huge amount of respect, was helpful and made sure the difficulty of the work matched with the course and the student's experience in the material. An overall great professor and one of the best I've had thus far!
Short, daily group quizzes for attendance points. Amazing lectures (she hands out copies) that have everything you need for the exams. She will answer any questions you have. Material is comfortably challenging, so stay engaged. I would definitely take classes from her again.
Leah is an awesome professor. She doesn't spend time lecturing for her lab and just gets right into it so it doesn't take too long. She is always willing to help you understand the material and answer any questions.
Anatomy is a pretty dry subject, but Dr. Freeman makes the class interesting and comprehensible. Her lectures are captivating; she explains everything in detail and answers student questions. Tests are heavy; she gives study/review resources that are very helpful. Text is free online, not necessary but it's helpful. I highly recommend her class!
Leah is the best professor I have ever had. She's so adorable and suuuper nice. She is very approachable and is willing to help you both in class and outside. If you miss labs, she will also let you make them up either with her or any other professor, any time, at any campus. I highly recommend taking her class, especially if you struggle in bio!!
Leah is amazing! If you have the chance, take her lab along with the lecture. Her lectures are straight and to the point. She goes over all the bases that you need understand the topics. She's funny and kind. Her exams are not so tough if you go over the class materials on Blackboard. (She has chapter practice reviews with keys to go along)
Leah was a fantastic lab teacher. She really wants you to learn the material and does it in a light and fun way. I wish I had taken her lecture as well, she seems really passionate about teaching you Biology. She shared her lecture slides with me so I didn't fall behind. Graded on quizes, practicals, and notebook checks. Do the work and get an A.
Leah is an amazing A&P 2 teacher. She makes difficult subjects easy to understand. Leah lectures and gives powerpoints on the specific information you need to know for exams.
I started taking her class in person before covid19 hit and I was sad to miss the in-person lectures. Shes hilarious, yet really informative. She does like a good pun. She explains very throughly and tries to get everyone involved. She asks good questions for student participation and shes an amazing artist. She drew anatomically. Recommended
Ms. Freeman is so down to earth and easy to talk to. She is understanding and so informative. She will sneak little motivators in her presentations and it's nice to see she cared enough to care. Home work was a good weeks worth, but if you are active in class, you will be just fine. I would definitely take her instruction again.
So, I took Dr. Freeman's BIO Lab online l and I would have to say that I didn't enjoy her class at all. She's a sweet person but her grading system is horrible, you have to do study guides (preferred hand written) with drawings each week that are 15-30 pages, a lot quizzes and exams. Overall, for being just a 1 credit class I give it a thumbs down.
This class is hard no matter what but shes a really good teacher and wants you to pass. She drops alot of assignments and answers any questions you have.
Such a great professor with a passion for teaching biology! I emailed her questions and she would respond with lengthy in-depth information that was just what I needed. Bio 1140 has a great new interactive design- it really is great for learning! Take your own notes, then fill in the study guides, then make note cards. Repetition!
I took Leah based on reviews. She was not who wrote the class, lectures, tests, nothing. The person who did has terrible ratings. The whole thing was an unorganized mess. Leah understood that and tried everything in her power to help us. Let us do a ton of EC and helped us as much as possible with this class. She was a saving grace.
I took Leah's online class for Fall 2021 because of all the good reviews about her class. The reviews were NOT correct at all! she is very unorganized and her study guides she gives, DONT match her powerpoints, and to top it off the video lectures she has ARENT even hers! so everything is off, you will have a hard time understanding what to do!
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! NOTHING MATCHES WITH HER STUDY GUIDES AND POWERPOINTS! SHE DOESNT EVEN HAVE HER OWN LECTURE VIDOES THEY ARE SOMEONE ELSE! WHO EVER ON HERE SAYS HER CLASS IS EASY ARE WRONG!
Leah is by far the best professor I have ever had. She provided a lot of material to help with understanding of the topics. She is very knowledgeable and kind. The lectures are easy to follow and never get boring. The exams are a bit difficult at times but I think it really tests understanding of topics. I would take again.
I took her in person A&P 1 and I totally recommend it! She gives a lot of extra credit in the tests and they do help. I had taken it in the summer but I decided to drop out of it. In person is a looottt more better than online!!!
Leah is a great choice for Intro Bio. I live close to main campus but drove to Montoya to take her class, and I know several others who did the same. Worth it. She makes the material as straightforward as possible and really goes the extra mile for her students. Prints out lecture slides every class (!), grades quickly, and is responsive to email.
The best! I chose her in every BIO-related class since she is the clearest, most organized, and prompt professor. her AP lectures are extremely simplified and very well written. She is always approachable and WILL help you get an A. Her lab is different, it's written by Anna-who is very unorganized- but Dr. Freeman is always available to help you!
Professor Leah was amazing! Great feedback! Tons of extra credit! HAVE LAB MANUAL! Grades pretty easy. Midterm and final are weighted heavy. Always willing to answers questions no matter how stupid.
If you have a life out of school like if you have kids or a job don't take this class she will give you two study guides with 20 pages each as well as a quiz you have to do five times and a final quiz that requires camera all in one week each week. Destroyed my mental health and has made question if college is even worth it.
Such a great professor, I took her Anatomy I and II course. Both were easy to follow and the coursework was reasonable. Guided note homework were very nice to have as homework assignments and made studying a lot easier. Would take her again!
Professor Leah was amazing! Midterm and final are weighted heavy!! Make sure you study! Gives so much extra credit and will answer any question in class. Such a nice professor makes you actually want to go to class. Make sure you have lab manual it will make your life so much easier. Try to stay organized and take the time to read the pre-lab.
Really Enjoyed this class and am now taking her again for A & P 2 next semester
The class was okay, the online modules were sometimes really long and required you to retain a lot of information. Tests were sometimes hard. Completing the online modules and taking notes was key to passing the tests for me. I think for an intro bio class, it felt like a lot of info to cover. She is very organized/consistent.
Hands down the Best teacher I have ever had!! If only I could take the rest of my nursing classes with her- we'd be good to go!! EVERYONE will appreciate her as a hard-working and caring professor.
Leah is an amazing instructor, passionate about her teaching which makes it that much better. I agree with the person below me, if I could take her for the rest of my nursing pre-requisites, I'd be over the moon. The study guides are a lot but they help SO much. Helps you learn as you go, instead of just reading a chapter and hoping you understand.
Professor Freeman is my absolute favorite instructor. She teaches using study guides with corresponding interactive activities which help tremendously. There are a lot of quizzes, each week there are 5 practice quizzes that are 10 questions each and then a final quiz which has helped with retention of knowledge. She's also very funny and personable
Very caring! She has these study guides that you turn in for a grade. It's a lot but they help tremendously! Exams are worth more than the final. She gives a lot of resources that you can use. you take a practice test 5x before it unlocks the final quiz. The class was online so I always feel online is more work than in person.
Professor Freeman was Amazing! She was very clear about what was expected each week in class. Very easy to ask questions to. She sent out weekly emails coving the weekly goals. That was very helpful!
Dr. Freeman is an incredible professor. She cares strongly about what she teaches and the actual act of teaching. She explains things thoroughly and efficiently. She will answer any question with pleasure! She is also funny which makes lecture super enjoyable. She does not over assign work, and provides extra credit. I cannot recommend her enough!
I have had Leah for multiple classes, and she is the best! She is supportive, explains topics well and will help those that have issues with the learning objectives. Leah can make a boring topic fun, as she keeps everything so interesting, and she is hilarious. I will continue to take her every chance I get. Hands down, the best professor at CNM.
Freeman is a very good teacher. The class can be hard but she is lenient and if you do the work you will pass.
BEST professor I've ever had! Her lectures are amazing and she is a great teacher, I wouldn't take anyone else. I wish she taught every science subject bc I actually understand the material and I'm passing every exam. Dont take anyone else, you wont regret it. Her study guides are awesome and are a good review of whats going to be on exams.
I NEVER had a tough A&P Professor, I thought she was an amazing professor when I saw the professor rate, and I took it she was the WORST, she kind of didn't like to talk with me and most of the time didn't respond to my questions, I have to wait her respond past after taking the exam, DON'T TAKE HER!!
This class is a lot of work and is exam heavy. The exams are most of your grade so I would make sure you study a lot for this class. She does have study guides so you know what to study.
Very good professor, I'd 100% take again. Does suggest reading the textbook (its online) but really never used the book, only for the vocabulary. DO use the study guide given, and you will get amazing grades on the exams. You take a total of 4 exam and the lowest graded one will be dropped, that doesn't include your final exam.
Leah was hands down the best Professor I have had. She is so kind and caring and she takes time with you to help you understand the material. I would take her again if I had the option. Leah makes the lectures fun and engaging.
I am seriously looking at these reviews and can not for the life of me understand how she has all these good reviews. I took her class based off of the good reviews and her class was nothing like it. She is very test heavy, study guides have nothing to do with the tests, had only 2 questions on a test for extra credit and she is not a kind person.
Leah set everything up to where it is very easy to navigate. Provided (optional) study guides that were identical to quizzes/exams and additional resources. Gives multiple attempts on all quizzes and exams. The practice quizzes are also very helpful. Responded super quick and always helped with any corrections. Would take again forsure!
I would take the class again with Leah Freeman and I do think she cares about her students and she did offer extra credit a couple times and that is what saved my bacon. The work load was manageable.
Leah is a great teacher who has a passion for biology and teaching it! I enjoyed taking her biology class in person and learned/ understood the content being taught. She makes very concise and detailed lectures as well as creates practice guides for her test. She gave multiple extra credit assignments, and wasn't too harsh on deadlines.
Best professor i've had. She makes everything clear during her lectures but you also have to put in most of the work by studying which is what I did and I did just fine in the class. You get credit for attending class there are also only a few assignments so it's important to do well on exams. Overall I would take her class again and again
Freeman is an engaging professor who makes the material interesting. The class can be challenging, but with the help of the textbook, study guides and tools like Unstuck AI, you can succeed. Definitely take this class if you have the chance.
I wish I could take Dr. Freeman for every biology related subject ever. She is fantastic. She has mandatory study guides the first 3 weeks, then they are optional, but boy do you realize how helpful they are when you don't do them! She will not let her students fail! She is so caring and makes sure you have plenty of time to study and have a life.
Professor Freeman is super knowledgeable when it comes to her subject. She is respectful, and enthusiastic about teaching. She dumbs down complex subjects as much as possible and does a really good job at making sure her students understand. Her study guides are phenomenal and prepare you for exams. I would gladly take any of her classes.
She is Amazing
Dr Leah Freeman gives a lot of homework and when it comes to the quizzes she says the practice test is will cover what you are going to need for the final tests this was a lie I found a lot of questions were not on the practice test and when I asked her about it she said this cannot be controlled because
Because the testing pool is so large there a lot of questions you will not get so just be prepared for that lie.
Do not take her class whoever is rating her as a good teacher must be her writing these reviews, she's terrible, gives you a lot of homework that does not match the test.
Whoever has been posting the most recent review for this teacher they are simply wrong. Leah, is an amazing teacher. Of course the practice tests aren't going to match the final exam exactly. She offers great study guides and lectures that teach you everything you need to know for the course quizzes and exams.
I'm a little more than halfway through the semester but I have nothing but good things to say about Leah. She's very communicative and helpful. Doing a lab online is hard enough but she makes it enjoyable and as easy as possible. I've learned SO much with her and the assignments are very straight forward and easy to follow.
As long as you complete all the study guides she offers - you will do great on the tests. She really sets you up to pass the course. Just do the work and a lot of quizzes/ tests get dropped with the lowest score. It might seem overwhelming at first but it's not that bad!
She is amazing! Especially for an online class! I would take any class from her. The online course looks very intimidating at first but just make sure to stay organized and on top of the deadlines. She drops quite a bit of assignments which really helps and gives multiple attempts on quizzes and exams. LOVE HER!
Leah was an amazing professor, I would highly recommend her class! She loves what she does and she is so good at explaining everything.
I took Dr. Freeman for a Biology lecture. Her lectures were enjoyable and easy to understand. She was easy to engage with and was always accepting questions. She was clear on how the class would work and gave a printed syllabus which made things much easier. She worked with me and my schedule. Amazing professor and I hope I get to take her again.
Great professor in the biology department
Low character limit, not enough to praise this teacher by any means. Transparent from day one. Tells you everything you need to know. Syllabus reflects this perfectly. Grading done in a timely manner. Her teaching helped me with my other classes, immediately. Could've gotten an A but I slacked at the end. I wish she taught all my classes. Amazing.
