hilarious guy and a really great prof
worst yet
his lectures make a root canal seem pleasant

Awesome prof! Makes class fun!!
This guy is funny and likes to get people involved. Very organized lectures
the best!!!
Extremely compassionate and helpful!
Love the lectures! Always tries to get the class involved, and learns your name! Important: LEARN THE DIAGRAMS.....I found the exam/labs extremely HARD.....but I enjoy going to class!
Class is great! Leandre rocks...cracks me up. I love how he learns our names, what a guy :) Only complaint is that Labs suck!!!!!!...really, they are horrible. :(
True - he might be a little bit of an egomaniac. But, he clearly makes an effort with his students and the subject matter is interesting. A fair marker.
Great prof - too bad the department has made so many of us hate him because of its grade restrictions for third year. Lee himself is very helpful and funny... weird to run into him at the gym though!
fabby's the best!!! makes boring material interesting, however marks are low b/c of grade restrictions for 3rd year. very hard labs!!!
Great Prof, he makes some pretty boring material seem pretty interesting. Have to agree about the marks though, pretty low, but not his fault.
Excellent lecturer. Grading frustratingly close to being arbitrary--could easily receive a minimal pass for an 'A' paper based on ridiculous marking scheme. 85% av. on final exam but low marks overall. Prof. insulted me harshly for questioning a mark.
Arbitary marker with an ego to match his marks he gives females.
A great prof, but the poor guy got blamed due to size restrictions of 3rd year psyc...
Not that great of a prof but presented the materials clearly.
I'm sure he's a nice guy, to his friends, if he has any... It is true that it's the department's fault for making us hate him...but his personality didn't go far to change that.
ARRRRGGGHHH!!!!

gives grades inversely according to cup size!!
wish I was a female!!!!
The lectures were clear but the assignments were marked very unfairly and so was the midterm. The head TA was very slow at giving out emails and it seemed like nobody wanted you to pass the class.
He was very arrogant and the head TA was very unhelpful. took very long for the TA's to respond to emails and for some stupid reason we couldnt email directly to them. Killer class with no encouragement.
Worst prof ever. His Winter 2003 USAT Evaluations: Out of 152 respondents on 'Grading was a fair assessment of my performance in the course'.. Neither agree nor disagree(3): 16 , Disagree(2):52 ,Strongly disagree(1): 66
terrible prof. someone should tell him that his comb over doesnt work that well. got examined on computer syntax which has nothing to do with research methods.
Attitude problem!

Come on people. This is Fabrigar. Sure I always get bad marks in his courses, but I think he's a great teacher for the most part. Just memorize all his diagrams and that's half the battle.
Awful
Fabrigar has redeemed himself from 203 with this class! His jokes are actually funny when you're not hating him. Class is entertaining, informative and fairly easy. Just memorize diagrams and you'll be fine.
worst prof
Fabrigar is FABulous
I LOVE this man!
Fabrigar is amazing. He's so funny but sometimes his exams ask very arbitrary questions.
His class was good, and he was funny, but I HATED his exams!! He had few short answers, but worth SO many marks each...almost as though he was too lazy to mark more questions. Exams definitely did not reflect my understanding/knowledge of the subject
To be honest, I couldn't stand him in the beginning of the year. But he grows on you, it just takes a bit of time. He's absolutely hilarious and he's got great stories. His exams are fair, but you have to know your stuff - but if you do, you should do well.
No question *the* most compelling and engaging prof I've had at Queen's. He *actually* is hilarious...and that's at 8:30 in the morning, too. His mother should be proud..lol The ONLY criticism I have is maybe certain short answer exam questions should not be weighted so heavily compared to the rest.
I really enjoyed his classes. What I disliked was that in lecture he stressed applying the research to real life situations, but the exams were essentially just regurgitating the material verbatim. I felt this gave the best marks to students who did not necessarily understand the material, and this is unfair.
Dr. Fabrigar is the best teacher I have had at Queen's. I have taken his classes two terms in a row now, and love the material. In a nut shell, his teaching skills are very effective and he is so funny. He always makes class fun and interesting. I would recommend taking his classes to anyone.
His lectures are interesting and engaging, but his exams are like a death in the family.
I thought Dr. Fabrigar was a great prof and he really made you feel a part of the class, especially if you were one of the lucky ones to sit near the front! His lectures are basically lots of information concealed in layers of funny/random stories involving his childhood or people in the class! This course is not hard if you memorize the notes! :)
good, fun guy.
Best Prof I ever had! His class is really engaging, to study his exam, study his notes and understand his notes.
Best lecture this year by far. He's very interactive with the class, which is great. Exams are tricky, but if you study enough, they're not bad, follow the lecture notes pretty well, except for the textbook questions course, of which there are a few.
By far the best prof at Queen's. He's hilarious and makes it easy to pay attention to and understand the material.
Amazing prof. He definitely cared about his students. Looked forward to his lectures. Material is interesting.
Able to explain complicated things in really clear and easily understandable way.
great prof. really entertaining.
Entertaining, knowledgable, interesting material, and fairly easy exam if you study his notes thoroughly.
unbelievably annoying. I LOVED this class, and he's turned me off a bit.
I'm rather surprised that his overall easiness rating 2.5. I feel this may be because of the number of students who rated him based on PSYC100. Many students in 1st year are idiots and their ratings reflect their frustration. Anyways, Fabrigar was great in 441. The course was super easy. Very easy to memorize. Debates in class were super fun.
He tries really hard to get the class to like him.. which actually can be annoying because it wastes time. His exam was by far the most fair of all the psyc100 exams in 2009/2010 though.
I found his exams really hard! I thought the class would be a joke but I ended up really regretting missing classes because a lot that he says in class goes on the exam.
I found this professor to be absolutely useless. He is one of the reasons why I ended up not majoring in psychology. When I advised him that there was a situation in the class which advantaged some individuals who had a later tutorial time int he week. He stated that Queen's did not have enough money and that was why the situation occurred.
He is just fantastic and he left me wanting more of his greatness and hilarity.
Fabrigar was a great prof! He explained things in a very detailed fashion and used lots of examples which really helped to get the point across. His test and exam were fair, no complaints here!
Fabrigar is so annoying to listen to, he always embarrasses himself and makes class awkward. he also relentlessly picks on students to answer questions..dont sit near the front. once you get past that, he is actually a great prof. his explanations are super clear and his exam questions were the easiest of all the psyc profs.
Fabrigar is excellent! He keeps the class engaged, uses good examples and provides useful information in lecture. I don't like his lecture slides very much - I recommend reading the modules and only listening in lecture.
His lectures were good to go to if you had nothing else better to do. While he uses really great examples, and helps understand the material better, he wastes a lot of time and repeats information. His voice is the equivalent to Mr. Potatohead on Toystory!
Thismess my only regularly attended 8:30 class. He was the most friendly, engaging professor I ever had in my many years and major switches at queen's. Roughly 10 years after taking the course, I still rave about him and remember many concepts from class. thought provoking, good at teaching, and you will never forget him. He defines "good prof!"
Great prof. Really funny but gets off topic sometimes. Assessment was fair.
I really liked that he got the class involved in his lectures, but he shouldn't have always used the same people. Other than that, I have no complaints. He was funny and clear, had good notes, and assessment was very fair
My favourite prof at Queens!
Fabrigar is by the far the absolute best professor at Queen's. He is HILARIOUS, helpful, and it's clear that he really cares about his students. His lectures have stimulated my interest in the topic. I wish that he taught every class at Queen's. I will miss him as my professor, and I recommend anyone and everyone to take his course.
Fabrigar is the best professor I've ever had! I actually loved going to his class, because he cracks so many jokes and has so many hilarious stories. He's a very clear lecturer, and takes the time to really make sure his students grasp the concepts. He's incredibly kind, and clearly spends a lot of time preparing for the course. I love Fabrigar!
I LOVE FABRIGAR! Literally the best professor at Queen's! I wish he taught all my classes
There isn't a lot of material, so Fabrigar expects you to know the slides in detail. This made the midterm pretty difficult for most people, but if you know that's what he wants, you'll do well on the exams. The marking scheme is 40% for the midterm and 60% for the final, but he will make the midterm 60% if it's your best mark. Overall great class!
Few readings so he expected you to know EVERY detail of lecture - only graded on a midterm and a final exam which were not fair tests of knowledge at all. Totally inconsequential details were tested while major concepts were not, and the multiple choice questions were confusingly written to trip you up Nice guy but went off on tangents too much
Fabrigar is an engaging lecturer, and his classes were always enjoyable. The workload was reasonable, and you are able to get an AA+ if you memorize his slides, and understand the different theories.
Best prof! He is very well organized and he cares about his students
He goes on a lot of tangents but he's one of the few psyc profs at Queen's that shows genuine concern/care for students and their needs. His exams are fair, just memorize everything on the slides and know all the main concepts and you will likely do really well. I didn't need tons of time to study, just made sure I knew the slides well & got an A+.
His lectures are interesting and easy to follow. Exams are largely based on his lectures and slides, and you're expected to know details.
Amazing prof with enjoyable lectures - this was the first time I attended every single lecture for a course. The midterm and final were worth a lot, but they were relatively easy as long as you studied and attended class. 10/10 recommend. Also, the textbook is a small novel that people purchase to read for fun.
Fabrigar enjoys lecturing and joking around, and can make the studies seem interesting. The issue that I had with the class is that the exams are worth a high amount and very specific, and written in a bit of a confusing manner. The exam material comes directly from slides. The assignments aren't worth a lot but are very easy.
A statistics course with almost no mathematical or visual aids, just audio lectures and text on a slide. Made it very hard to learn. Lectures were also very garden-path, could have been half as long and still covered everything. The exams were worded open-endedly yet you got no marks if you didn't say the exact things he wanted. Also, bad textbook.
Nice prof but the hardest exams I have ever written in my undergrad career. Be prepared to memorize each minor detail of every piece of content in this class and explain in depth during tests.
He just talks through the lecture which is probably the worst way to teach a math or stats-based course. The exams ask for in-depth open-ended questions which are difficult to answer and then graded really hard. Assignments are easy grade boosters, but watch out for the exams. He's a funny guy but this course is designed to weed people out.
MY FAVOURITE PROFESSOR! His lectures are extremely interesting and engaging. He remembers his students' names even in big lecture halls. He is very easy to approach and always super happy to help. His exams can be hard, but if you ask him questions he will tell you exactly what he is looking for on the exam and that made it very easy to get an A+.
He's a douche when it comes to exams and distribution of marks. I like the class in general, very interesting topics and concepts, principles, etc. He does well at teaching them, but then he doesn't test you on them at all in the exams. I suggest taking his courses if you only care about studies and experiments cause thats all he cares about
doesn't test on any of the actual concepts, principles, etc., he teaches you, just about study/experiment specifics. He will ask you to draw graphs on exams.
Fabrigar is a god. He has unmatched energy and charisma and somehow makes a lecture on advanced statistical inference fly by. His exam questions are easy but they are marked in a really specific way. This guy genuinely cares about students and were all lucky to have him
Very fun professor. Fabrigar is funny and very engaging and I wish I wanted to have him again but in fact, I am avoiding him as a lecturer. Exams are all about studies and experiments, and barely on concepts/terms. Get ready to memorize all the details. I can't stress enough how hard this made the course. It's seriously all about the experiments.
While Lee's charisma and humour made lectures enjoyable, I found them lacking in educational value. The absence of visual aids made it difficult to grasp concepts, and I had to self-teach most of the course content. The challenging exams, graded in a specific and seemingly unfair manner, added to the overall struggle of this course :(
His lectures were widely considered a waste of time. Tries to make class fun but just makes the experience miserable. Pro tip: you'll get more value out of the class just by reading the slides
Fabrigar's lectures are very detailed, and yes they focus a lot on experiments but in my opinion, those experiments truly help you grasp the concepts he is teaching. I did not find the exams to be that difficult as all you have to do is memorize the studies presented and the conclusions that came from them. I enjoyed Fabrigar's lectures very much!
He is very engaging and passionate. His exams are difficult and involve heavy memorization of lectures, so if you struggle with memorizing specific details, I wouldn't recommend this course. Attendance wasn't necessarily mandatory, but lectures are very helpful and participation counts for 4% of your final grade (tophat). Super interesting course!
This class was the worst class I have ever taken. Dr. Fabrigar will tell you things are not on the exam (both verbally and in course material) then put them on anyways to screw you over. He reads directly off the slides and offers poor explanations for concepts his students don't understand. Nice guy, though!
He manages to make pretty objectively boring material interesting, which is impressive. He cares about the students. The difficulty is comparable to other stats courses I have taken. It is kinda hard but fair. Do not bother getting the textbook, you do not need it. The tutorials are technically optional but helpful (and always end early).
Fabrigar's lectures are engaging, but the focus on memorizing studies/experiments makes the exams challenging. Attendance helps, and tools like unstuck AI can aid study prep. An interesting course if you don't mind the memorization.
Found the lectures useless, his slides were just full sentences that he'd read off of. Exams are hard and he marks based on such specific criteria it's ridiculous, especially in a course that so many people struggle in. Every time he said a concept was "intuitive" I almost ripped my hair out.
professor does not care about students and makes the course hard for no reason.
Professor Fabrigar is a caring and passionate professor in both of his courses (PSYC301 and PSYC342). PSYC301 is difficult but fair- go to course-specific office hours and pay attention to lecture slides and you will be fine. PSYC342 is designed with attendance and easy-marked assignments, and everything emphasized in class is emphasized on exams.
this class is not what u expect pls free urself from this if u possibly can im so serious i am in the trenches locking in for this rn and the midterm was curved 15% (to 69 avg this year) be FREEE pleaseeee save urself like truly genuinely. there r like 75 lecture slides in each and they're black and white and look like they were designed in 1867
Do not take this course. It is not what you think it is! He is a very funny, nice guy but he makes his exams unbelievably difficult for no reason. His slides include no visuals (it is literally just a bunch of text on a white background). The exams are unfair and grading is super harsh. He gets a power trip off of knowing more than undergraduates.
Not what I thought it was going to be. Extremely hard for no reason, expects you to know the smallest details out of 300 slides. Final exam format was 2 long answer questions, 1 essay question, 2 short answer questions, 5 definition questions and 20 multiple choice (worth 1.5 marks each)- ludicrous to me. Nice prof tho & makes lecture engaging!
If you can memorize stuff easily you'll be fine. Super nice prof!
Genuinely the hardest and worst prof I had. He's a nice and funny guy I'll give him that but the way he tests and the difficulty of his exams are beyond unfair. Lectures were useless and a complete waste of time, you will have to basically teach yourself the entire course. Beware of his exams they were horrible and people barely passed.
I wanted to like Fabrigar so bad but the truth of the matter is he doesn't care if his students acutally understand the concepts. It's all about whether you can know every single detail on every slide -- whether you can know as much as he does. It sucks because I really think he could have made this class good and it's just not
He wants you to know the "intuitive" logic behind every formula, yet he doesn't ever explain why it is "intuitive". You will have to teach yourself most of the material. Go to his office hours; it is the only thing that saved me. You WILL have to work very hard to get a good grade. I finished with an A, but it nearly killed me.
Worst class of my undergrad by far, totally different from PSYC 201. He seems charismatic at first, but lectures poorly explain concepts. Exams are deceptively hard: all long-answer, no mc, and harshly graded. Get a tutor early and ask how they'll want you to answer the questions- TAs only give marks for exactly what's on their answer key.
