she is an awesome teacher!! very fun and knows what she is talking about! i got a B in the class but i took it in summer so it was hard yet very easy because she was very helpful with explaining everything

Excellent teacher, definately knows her stuff. She knows (unlike many other instructors) that we are adults and we do have busy lives, so she is not so hard on absences as long as you keep your grades up and make the most of the material she gives you. She has an awesome sense of humor and will admit she's a dork, so she's definately cool. Lol.

Ms. Manley interjected her personal experiences with humor and made the class as interesting as possible. She is very knowledgeable of the subject. She doesn't make you feel self-conscious. This is the sign of a professional instructor, not just someone reading off their notes and not connecting with the class. Sorry for the short semester

Even though the class is not the easiest. The teacher found a way to make it interesting, and fun to come to class. Anytime I had any trouble or needed help, she was always available to help! and spend some time with you to make sure you understood the material. Great teacher!

Was the best Biology teacher I've ever had took her 2 years in high school for Bio 1 and AP Bio. Has the best sense of humor ever! Will give you all the help she can but you have to put effort into it. Would take her class over and over.

Yea, shes a good professor and is laid back but the material is alot to handle if your not good with medical terms. I personally did not have previous experience with the subject so the class was difficult for me.

Straight forward, but you have to work. She drops one exam grade, and gives students many hints on how to study. The CPR assignments are easy, and on the exam as well. She is organized, has a sense of humor, but does ask students to study.

I always thought that this website was about informing students on how to do well in an instructor's class. Like prof Manley or not, she is a great teacher, who in every class gives students study tactics and some entertainment value. Use the power points often, do the M.C. questions, and attend class! I use a recorder and improved greatly!

Professor Manley is one of the better professors at CF. Listen to her study suggestions. If you can, video record the lectures using a tablet or phone and review them while you study the end-of-chapter review questions. Don't buy these other slackers' excuses on this site, Manley is a true gem of a professor, and she's easy on the eyes as well.

Manley is an awesome teacher! She tests only what she teaches, and she repeats everything that you have to know a million times. She gives bonus quizzes all the time, but if you go to class and study twice a week, you won't need any extra credit. CF is lucky to have her as an instructor.

She is great! even if you go into the class knowing nothing about the subject she makes it easy to follow. also makes it easy to pass with extra credit, drops lowest test grade. Plus shes funny so that makes it easy to actually pay attention. Attendence isn't mandatory but even if you miss one class your behind on a lot. there is no homework.

Mrs.Manley is a great professor who can easily explain complex biological things in a simple and humorous manner. She is more than willing to spend extra time if you need help as well. As long as you study ~15 mins a day you will get an A.

Prior to this class I didn't know much about biology. The class really isn't difficult if you take the time to study. She does offer bonus quizes however dont count on them to save your grade as they are not worth much and only apply to the final exam. Knowing the material is key to success.

The most important aspect of passing Professor Manley's lab is to study the material available before every lab. These lab guides are very well put together and cover everything that you need to know. Also, study ahead of time. Labs materials for the following week are available the day of class so start reviewing sooner than later.

I studied more than 4 hrs/ week to get an 'A' and still got a 'D' on one homework assignment. She does grade leniently overall, but you have to put forth the effort to do well in her class! STUDY THE SLIDES!!

Best science teacher - whether you're into science or not. She knows what she's doing AND knows how to get it across so that everyone can understand it. Best part about it is that class time is ALWAYS interesting. The class is not difficult, she offers many ways to help. But YES, you must study to actually remember what you've learned.

Professor Manley is by no means an easy professor, but she is good at what she does. The tests in the class are easy enough if you study beforehand. I would recommend that you take good notes during class and answer and study the chapter study questions that pertain to the test you're taking and you'll do just fine.

Manley was a very good teacher. Her course was pretty rough throughout. Always listen to her and when she says to study an hour a day, do it. As long as you read and do the homework, CPR assignments and watch the PowerPoint's you'll do fine.

There are a few whiners on this site, they must have failed or barely passed! Manley is a true instructor, helping with ways to learn period, not just biology. She wrote a book to save us $150 each, its free and really easy to understand! If you hang with her, follow her suggestions and study, you'll do well! Great class, great instructor!

I was so scared coming into this class because her syllabus makes her sound really strict, but I was proven totally wrong on the first day! She's an absolutely GREAT teacher. She's funny and sweet and truly cares about her students. I would definitely take her again! It's an easy A as long as you read through the labs before class!

Take my comment in good faith over another's who makes bad grades because I make straight A's and will give a CREDIBLE opinion: I never opened the book and made an A. I took notes off the Power Point and went through the PPT twice and again before an exam. If you have any questions,she will answer them with enthusiasm; she truly cares for students!

The course in itself was difficult. However Ms. Manley made it easy for me to learn the material with her multiple choice homework assignments and discussion board. In response to my questions I was sent a video plus web links to reinforce the topic. I'd take her class again, I think she was swell.

At first I was like dam I'm not going to passed this class, a lot of reading. But if you come to class take good notes and read 30 min a day in a quiet area, you will pass her class. But you have to do it, she offers a lot of study groups, and if that's not working for you on those days, ask if she can arrange a different time. All I can say GREAT.

No textbook cost its a free pdf supplied online. Very enthusiastic, relevant, and inciteful lectures. Prepares you for future science classes in terms of intro to all topics and workload. If you dont enjoy science, critical thinking or actually bettering yourself switch classes and don't waste your seat or the teachers time.

This professor makes you work, though the grading is fair. She is helpful and really motivated. You have to read the book, though the book is free, and basic enough that a non science major can get it! The bottom line to do well: do what she suggests! It is not that difficult if you take her hints. A good class, I learned a lot!

This was a great Biology class. It was very informative and the instructor was quick to respond and always encouraging. I took the online class and the book (free by the way) was tied directly to the lectures and easy to follow along if you are willing to do the work. Take the advice in the syllabus and review the material every day.

Professor Manley is extremely helpful, and she lays out exactly what needs to be done to be successful in her class. Follow her lead and a very difficult subject becomes easier to learn. In her on-line class I believe participation is extremely important. Discussion forums are not mandatory, however they should be! Loved her!

Not a lot of homework, just read the chapters, do your outline, answer the study questions, and there crossword puzzles, who doesn't love crossword puzzles. As long as you follow the instructions and the study tips she gives you will most certainly pass. i would take this class again it was fun and relateable.

Prof. Leanne Manley is the Best professor I have seen since I started College. You cant give up even if you wanted. If she seen you are not getting it she asks you "what do you need?" If she is teaching ANY class you need she is a must to take!!

Wonderful professor, wish I could take her again. As long as you read the labs and pay attention to everything she underlines and italicizes and listens to her pre-lab quiz hints during class, you can learn so much and the quizzes and exams will be a breeze. Her online class is thorough, the lectures in video form go right with the book and are shorter in length than taking an on campus course. The homework prepares you for the exams, though it is demanding. Great professor, I highly recommend taking this class!

Awesome teacher. I have never felt so important to a teacher before especially in an online class. Quick informative responses & always willing to help. Definitely have to work very hard for a good grade though. Extremely long lectures and time consuming homework, however I took as mini-semester so it was very crammed. I learned a lot.

Study the homework, actually read the chapters, pay attention to italicized paragraphs, pay attention/take notes from the lectures, & do the crossword puzzles. Study all of these for the mid-term and final and you will be ready.

GREAT TEACHER! She has the best learning guideline that I will continue to use with all my classes. You can tell during her lectures that she truly cares about her students and their success. You do have to study a lot, but she make the studying very easy and almost "fun".

Mrs. Manley does her best to take extremely academic material, and bring it home to the student. Science has always been a real challenge for me to absorb, but she made me want to do well, which is a real credit to her. With anybody else, I might have given up. You really have to do your part, but she is there to help you make sense of it all.

Excellent class. Writing assignments were based on current environmental issues often mentioned in the news, very relevant . Use of peer review beneficial as material is presented from the perspective of others. Advice: writing deadlines are in CPR - NOT Canvas, work ahead on homework assignments in Canvas, communicate via discussions in Canvas.

What I loved about professor l. Manley was hers feedback, she answer right away, and she cares about the student.

She gives you a digital book, and it's free. I found it easier to watch her videos(word association techniques included) answer the homework questions, then control F the book when I got stuck, you get three tries. She builds on info so you find you retain more, which makes the CPRs easy if you put forth the effort and don't wait till last minute.

Manley published her own textbook and gives it out free for the class. Her lecture style is Enthusiastic, Tenacious, and Creative. Plan on being in class every day. If you apply yourself in this course you WILL learn the basics of biology. While you will not receive an "easy A" Manley is always willing to help her students & fair with grades.

Pop quizzes are given regularly to make sure students are on tract with their reading; they aren't weighted much but they do add up! It's a great wake up call. A lot of biology may seem challenging but by coming to class, the power point and concept maps help extremely. Coming to class gives a great upper hand. Manley is an amazing professor!

Extremely helpful, encouraged asking questions, and meeting with her for guidance. Find a partner or a group and study together. The class isn't easy, but you'd take this class to work as a doctor or other healthcare professional with a Bio deg. Effort matters. The class is worth it and you can really learn a lot. Manley gives you every opportunity to do well, its just up to you to take it. Text book is written in student friendly language, and available in a search friendly format (and FREE). If you do the chapter study question, and study outlines and you would have to try to fail this class. She is VERY supportive and always available in her office.

One of the best teacher i have ever had! But you need to participate in every class in order to keep up. The textbook is free and online, which helps save money. My best tip to do good on the weekly quizzes and for the exam, do the chapter study questions in the textbook for all chapters and ask professor Manley if needed, she's always helpful.

This is a wonderful class which allows us to understand our internal world. The teacher gives us many learning techniques and all the necessary material to succeed in this class. The textbook is very specific; therefore, understanding the processes explained in it instead of just reading is the key. I feel grateful had taken this class.

One of the best Biology 2 lab instructors. Encourages critical thinking. Will help a student if they are struggling with her quizzes or any concept in general. You definitely need to study an read the lab material before class. Otherwise, you won't pass. I got an A with no problem.

Definitely would take her again. She has her own free pdf download textbook for the class. Very fair and there is not too much homework, but if you don't do the work you won't succeed. She cares a lot and has tons of offers to make up a bad grade/extra credit if you put the work in. Would recommend definitely for any science or non-science majors.

I had a failing grade until about midway through the semester. My biggest suggestions would be to delegate specific time during the week to study outlines, answer studyQs then study with flash cards. Tiny Cards app is a win. & a study buddy is necessary. She will work with you. If you're having issues, meet with her ASAP & take her advice.

Prof. Manley is well-versed in her subject. She is also hilarious. Yes, she is a tough grader because this is a tough subject for many students. She wants to help you learn so you do well in college. Mrs. Manley was probably one of the best professors I have ever had. She teaches you what you need to know for the test, but also teaches in a way that you will remember the material. I had her a few months ago and I can still remember everything she taught. She is an easy grader. You get the credit as long as you make an attempt.

My favorite everything is very well explained make sure to always use the chapter outlines! Studying in partners is very helpful! All the quizzes is things she repeats over and over very great subject.

For this class I would strongly suggest forming study groups outside of class to go over material at least once or twice a week. The information is difficult and it does help to have various minds to help you interpret it a way you might understand. I suggest answering the study questions and writing the outlines on flashcards.

To get a good grade you should dedicate a minimum of an hour to studying the material daily! If you go through and decide why each question is right or wrong on the HW assignments, you will understand all the material necessary for the exam! I took this class this Fall and let me tell you, it was challenging. While I earned an A, it was perhaps the hardest A Ive ever earned. Honestly Manley states what is needed to pass in her syllabus and if you follow that then you should pass. Sure the tests are not the easiest and the one quiz a week are assessing you on what you know and if you studied outside of class. There was a lot of reading required but she goes over everything in class too. She wrote her own text book so it is very easy to read and understand, probably the only text book ever I read once and comprehended it. She is interactive with the class which is helpful to stay engaged. I missed my final exam & still managed to pass. Loved this class.

Do not let her syllabus scare you! CPR is very easy to do, it looks like a lot of work but it is not. I encourage you to read the chapter at least once before the next class because she gives examples and elaborates on the chapter. No textbook required! She wrote her own book for you and is a very understanding professor.

She encourages students and reaches out frequently to ensure you're not struggling. This was course was really hard for me, it even felt undoable at one point, and I don't think I could have done it if it weren't for Professor Manley wanting each student to succeed so much and therefore doing her absolute best to make sure we have what we need to really learn. Highly recommend taking biology with her, she is so caring and explains everything simply. Throughout the semester she would check in and let us know where are suppose to be in the course. She has her own book, so no need to buy a textbook for the course. She gives 2 exams, 4 CPR assignments and then homework for the textbook chapters.

Professor Manley is underrated. This is a tough subject. I would recommend taking this course after most gen-ed. She gives you all the tools to succeed. Do the CPRs, read the chapter outlines, study the bolded text, and do the crosswords. Communicate with her and she will help you. Review questions help, but aren't necessary. Study 45 min everyday.

Manley is an amazing professor! This course was difficult effort-wise but all the material was explained thoroughly in the YouTube lectures. Multiple attempts were given to complete the homework quizzes, PowerPoints from the lectures are on Canvas, all homework/exam questions were from the lectures, and the professor is easily reached by email.

Mrs.Manley is by far the best teacher I have had at CF!! She is passionate about the subject and explains clearly what will be on tests. Instead of quizzes, she has outline notes on the chapter that are due each week. Her tests require a good amount of studying they consist of diagrams, multiple choice, and written response questions.

Succeeding in this class will require watching the provided video lectures and completing the chapter outlines as directed. I highly recommended that you read the textbook, and complete the questions at the end of the chapters, especially for ones you find difficult. This helped me with test prep. Professor Manley is a fantastic professor that genuinely cares about the wellbeing of her students. To do well in Intro to Bio, I recommend always getting a head start on the chapter outlines and CSQ as to ask questions during class time. The tests questions are directly from the CSQ so it's important to do those!

Professor Manley's Intro to Bio class is challenging but rewarding. The chapter outlines, CSQ, and textbook are crucial for test prep. unstuck study was a great study tool alongside the course materials. Stay engaged, and you'll succeed.

I really enjoyed the class, and it wasn't just busy work. Although you might feel it is, the outlines for class really helped me prepare for the exams. She also does multiple reviews to help you prepare for the material. I am not a fan of speaking out in class during reviews, but she made the environment very comfortable which I felt like I could.

Most of this material can be used for the sake of your health and others. This Professor is caring and repetitive with the material from different angles to prepare for exams. Everything you need to study is provided through the outline videos and highlighted on the presentation notes on canvas! My best word of advice is to simply bring the effort.

Do the outlines, the CSQs and show up to class. Manley also gives extra credit for highlighting the answers to the CSQs in your outlines. Do your work and even stay ahead of it if you can. In class, she will review the lectures and she does it in fun ways. It's not a bad idea to find a study partner. It's a lot of work but you will learn.

Professor Manley is very knowledgeable in this subject. Her class and the class content reflects that. Initially, the videos and textbook that she provides will seem overwhelming, but she will help you in several ways. She efficently uses class time for review and to answer questions. Like many things put enough time into it, and you'll be fine.

I had this class last semester and enjoyed it immensely! My system of success involved weekly: -Chapter readthrough -Watching and taking detailed notes on vids -Making flashcards for all concepts/vocab in the chapter -making flashcards of the CSQs -concept maps Plan to study and you will succeed! The concepts are not as difficult as they may seem!

She has her own free version of the textbook that is written out in an easy to read manner. Before every class you are expected to read the chapter and have in depth notes (that she will grade). In class she will go deeper into the topic that was already read about, or group work/actives. Not an easy class but you will leave having learned a lot.

Amazing teacher! I learned so much useful information in this class I was sad for it to end. Following her instructions for the video lesson outlines and answering the Chapter Study Questions makes the class much easier. She does a lot of in class review and offers several bonus opportunities as well, but answering the CSQs will help greatly.

The video lectures for your outline contain everything for the tests, along with the CSQs and crosswords in the textbook. Ask questions if you are unsure about something. I learned the best way to study is to do a little bit each day and eat a healthy breakfast before exams. Also, get to know classmates! It helps to have a study partner.

The top 2 strategies I recommend would be to always do the extra credit. You never know if you fail a test, for backup. The other one would be to try putting it towards your life outside of the classroom. I wanted to lose weight and Professor Manley helped me and I lost 40 lbs by the end of the semester. Thank you!
