very easy prof. not unreasonable at all, hw load is light, just do the readings and you'll be fine. is not that great with office hours, but very helpful otherwise. very hard not to pass this class if you actually attend class.
She's young and nice and easy to talk to. Not too much homework, about 6 essays. Weekly grammar review, but easy. She grades pretty easy and fair; if you go to class you'll be sure to pass!!
Good teacher. I did better than I thought. Very fair grader considering that I rarely showed up to class.
She is a young professor who knows her stuff. She is very picky when it comes to her grading. She can be annoying at times, but she makes her class fun. Her assigned readings of White Noise is BORING!!! DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU WANT AN A. Do not be fulled by the other reviews, I was very fulled.
Great teacher. Come to class, and try your best and you should pass.
She is a very good professor who is caring and knows what she is doing. She lets you know what is going on and doesn't grade that hard.
Class kinda boring, especially the book, teacher hot.
Very nice lady, White Noise is boring, don't take her if u want an A. She's attractive with makes class easy to attend. Other than that, nothing too spectacular.
Nice but Frustrating. << sums it up perfectly
she's absolutely nice, wonderful, and easy. she pays attention to all her students and talks to everyone on the same level. take her class...trust me!!
Not too hard to understand. She keeps the class lively and she'll help, but she's a vicious grader when it comes to essays.

Leanne is a young teacher, very enthusiastic about teaching, and very engergetic in class, and almost always has a big smile on her face... She is definitely a tough grader, and when it comes to quizzes you better make sure you remember all those details!
She's nice, keeps you awake, and at least tries to arouse interest in grammar which is a plus. Personality is a bit out there but a good instructor.
A lot of writing, but the teacher's pretty cool.
NICE TEACHER. THERE IS LOT OF CLASS WORK THAT NEVER GETS GRADED SO ITS POINTLESS. SHE GRADES HARD IN FIRST HALF OF SEMESTER. SHE TELLS YOU YOUR GRADE 3-4 WEEKS BEFORE SEMESTER ENDS AND YOU'LL PROBABLY HAVE C OR LOWER. BUT THEN WHEN SEMEMSTER ENDS YOU'LL ALL OF A SUDDEN HAVE AN A OR B.

Semi Difficult teacher. She grades stuff as though it was the final, which in her mind I guess means give everyone Cs. It is almost impossible to get As on essays (maybe 1 per assignment). As a result you go into the final (inwhich she says everyone gets a C or bellow) with no grade buffer. Great lady though, I enjoyed her class.
assignment due every class. one 10 min and one 5 min presentation, 10 page paper. TOUGH grader. Treats students like a joke. Loves to pick on students.
Pretty good class.
It's almost impossible to get an A on either presentation, be sure to devote a lot of time to the 10+ page paper! Don't let her pick on you - call her on it asap!
Took the class during the summer and really liked it. Wasn't boring, kept my interest the whole time.
Good class, I heard this class was difficult. She makes it fun to be there. Attendance a must, as there are assignments due nearly every class. Presentations and 10 page single spaced paper are the keys to a good grade. LOVES SLANG WORDS!! Hey girl, Where you at?!? And she always has a "funny story," when she walks in. I LIKE!! High Five!!
I liked her! she was SUPER nice and super understanding. Take her class, the BEST teacher ever!

Great teacher! Great class.

Awsome teacher, always has a positive attitude and will listen to suggestions about 10+ page paper. Kind of strict about guidlines, but otherwise great teacher,
Not a very good teacher. An extremely hard grader. Often late for classes and appointments. No show in office hours.
She is very strict grader and unfair. She gave same comments on every assignment. Not helpful. You can tell she is always rush to class and hurry to leave. Not prepare her teaching material, she put instruction on board. No rewrite no chance provided. Local speakers may be fine for this class but need to turn your hw on time. Nonnative avoid her.
cant believe she has been rated as hot teacher. she is an unfair grader and she is not helpful at all. too many HWs, not funny jokes, talks fast. she doesnt seem want to put effort to class.not recommended.
Good class, interesting discussions, funny teacher. I got an A-, not too bad.
Great class, I learned more than I expected. Hard grader & you have to work for an A. Jokes were kinda (cough, cough), but it was a fun class. **Final Thought; It was hard to concentrate in this class, She is way 2 hot to be a teacher. **
Really nice person. Hard grader, even she will admit. The research paper is really tedious! many assignments. You really have to work to get an A, but the class ambiance is good for the most part. I'd take her again even though she's tough.
She is very funny and explicit, just like your buddy. Very fun personality. She is a hard grader and expects a lot of work, but makes you better equipped. There is a several page research project that was a pain in the ass. Professor, if you're reading this THANK YOU FOR ADDING ME as well as making a dull class fun!
Professor Lindelof is passionate about teaching English and is very caring for her students. She is very interactive and will appreciate participation. She is very approachable and helpful about assignments. Her grading can be hard.. but remember, you DO get what you put into it. If you want an A, put effort into getting it!
Professor Lindelof comes off as very strict and demanding of your work, which she is. But towards the end of the semester things get easier. The writing assignments are not difficult and the presentations bring your grade up. If you can write a decent research paper you will do well in the class. She is very energetic and tries to be funny....
I didn't learn much in her class, she doesn't stay on point and most of the assignments were a joke.
I loved this class! It was relaxing, fun, and you get to exercise your creative juices (: She made the class fun, and she got to know you on a very personal level. She's more than a prof, but a friend too! She teaches you a lot about poetry& writing, even if you think you don't like it, you should try it. This class was NOT a joke.
i loved eng 71! prof lindelof is awesome&encouraging, she cares for her students alot& the class was ANYTHING BUT a joke. you can tell that she really wants her students to tap into their creativity& she wants them to succeed. shes more than a teacher, she'll talk to you like an adult&she'll be your friend &give you advice&support if you need it.
Assignments are easy to keep up with and are mildly interesting even though I write outside of school. There are only certain things you can write about, which really limits the creativity. I actually stopped writing after I started the class and have been blocked since. Not recommended for people who like to write, there's no room for creativity.
Great professor! She's intelligent and engaging, and kept things interesting. Research paper was a lot of work but a really good class overall. She's approachable and wants students to learn.
Don't take her. She is extremely hard grader. The assignments are easy but you will never get an A. If u have 1 grammar error it is a "B" if u have 2 u got a"C". The final project is 12pgs and u have to use at least 3 books. She never gives u clear feedback. She doesn't really care if u gonna learn. Her goal is to make u feel miserable & stupid.
Now I understand why she has high ratings.I thought this website is for rating how good the teachers are not how hot they look.I am straight "A" student and personally disappointed about her style of teaching.13 assignments,2 presentations(5&10min),quiz,research paper 12pgs.Unlike other teachers she doesn't show you samples of previous years exams.
Enthusiastic speaker. Clears on assignment. Hard grader. Start early on the Formal Report.
High energy and does make class somewhat enjoyable. However, she is extremely anal when it comes to grading. Presentations... short a few or over a few seconds and your grade gets marked down. Papers short a few or over a few words and your grade get marked down. One grammar error, B. One comma splice B. Get the point? I got a B... lol...
I got my first C+ because of this class. She is a hard grader!
First day of class, she told us "if you want an A, don't take my class." VERY HARD GRADER. She picks on little things, and if you fix them, she'll find something else to take points off for. Extra credit was extremely hard. Had to memorize 20 paragraph length definitions! Held class on FURLOUGH DAY at the cafe in the library! Formal report=tough.
She is very enthusiastic about english. The class is enjoyable. She is always willing to help and answer any questions you may have. Yes she is a hard grader, but its an english class and you need good english to succeed in business. Do all the homework and the extra credit and you'll be fine. The report isn't hard, its just very time consuming.
She's not a bad person, but she is the worst professor I've ever had. She won't help you even if you go see her. Seems like she has favorites in class. If you want a good grade, take someone else.
I enjoyed attending her class. Because its a small class size, she'll notice when you're not there, so show up! She's pretty picky, but its made me a better writer (and I was pretty good to begin with). "Fair Trade For All" is dry, but she loves it; be prepared to read it. I would take her again if given the opportunity.
highly suggest taking this class. eventhough she can be a bit picky, it's all for the best. hella funny class and she's very approachable. just make sure to do the essays the way she tells you to.
Great professor, you will learn a lot. Kind of though grader, very funny
She's a really fun teacher, but is definitely a tough grader. There are many in class and out of class writing assignments, including a ten page final paper. I would take her again though because she's really funny and nice and open to student suggestions.
A lot of writing but that is expected of any english class. Grades fairly and explains assignments well. She made us read fair trade for all and because we complained about it so much, future students will no longer have to read it. On behalf of my class, YOU'RE WELCOME! 2 presentations are required and one longggg paper. Great class overall.
It is impossible to get an A in her class. She wants her students to write like gods. She will make you work and sweat for AT LEAST a C. I warn those who are about to take her to prepare for the impossible.
fun, upbeat professor. tough grader, only thing i didn't like was the extensive research. booooo! i would rather have teeth pulled from my head than have to find 3 book sources and 4 peer reviewed articles ever again.
Went to writing center, sent to my professor from last semester to read, peer edit 4 times, workshops in class, and got a C. Tough grader, make sure your essay are flawless.
Lindelof is a sweet and VERY understanding teacher. She is a very hard grader, and she told me the reason she is because she is used to grading english 100w classes. So you really have to ask her for help/advice. Overall, good experience, and I recommend her.
GREAT TEACHER! Professors like Lindelof make college worth attending. She grades tough, so you have to work hard. But in the end it makes you a better student WHICH IS WHAT COLLEGE IS ALL ABOUT. She is helpful, understanding, and patient (Oh ya, and attractive too). Group work and presentations are easy
She's a hard grader, but a great professor.
She is a very tough grader. She doesn't give much feedback and correction on writings, so I don't know how are we supposed to improve our writing. She is hardly available to help and hardly shows up for her office hours.Don't waste your time to go to her office unless you have an appointment with her.She is very unclear, disorganized and forgetful.
Great teacher, somewhat a tough grader but I tried hard, went everyday, and actually got an A- despite what people will tell you. She is disorganized but won't lose your work and cares a lot about her students. Very good looking as well!
She is a TOUGH grader, but it's reasonable. The wrong words in a business environment could ruin your career. She is forward and honest with you. Don't take her if you want an easy A. 100% take her if you want to be the best writer you can be. Show her you care to improve and she will help. Life is ruthless, but she'll push you as far as you want.
Great professor! She'll make you work hard but she's not unreasonable.
Prof Lindelof is a very lovely person. She has a great personality and establishes rapport with her class very easily. Although she grades very strictly--yes, you have to earn good grades--she is fair and offers plenty of opportunity to help yourself do better.
She has a great sense of humor. Is always there when students need help. She gives reasonable quizzes and enough time to write papers. Her class isn't boring. Overall, a great professor if you put in the effort she wants to see, you will no doubt get an A.
Definitely a tough grader. She's very nice and funny but you really need to understand what she wants. Weekly papers, two quizzes, one presentation, 10-page essay and a final. You will be sweating for an C.
She is a good professor. English wasn't my specialty, but will finish her class with a B. The grade is entirely made up of only the essays, so learning how to write a great essay will get you an A.
really great professor. i needed up with a c+ and thats because i am not so good at writing. if i had tried a bit harder i could of gotten a b-. overall her class is really easy. show up to class every day and you will be fine.
She is a very sweet professor, but a very tough grader. If you want an A, do not take this class because chances are you won't get it. You can still pass her class, but it might not be the grade you wanted. There's a lot of writing, and two presentations, so be ready to be marked down on everything you do.
i really liked this class. she's fun and explains things clearly. she makes you think and is will to help. the writing was sometimes hard but otherwise the class was really good.
Lindelof is an okay professor. She's disorganized and tends to run on tangents. She expects her students to write in an incredible manner, while not being clear on what she wants out of a paper. She's approachable and nice yes, but don't take this class and expect it to be easy. She's unnecessarily tough and excessive.
I really enjoyed her class. She used real world assignments and was super helpful and approchable. Kind of a tough grader but you just have to work hard to get the grade you want.
Great Professor. Easiest B ever, Near impossible A.
Professor Lindelof is organized and helpful. She will not always clarify the work due (you need to attend all classes to ensure you don't miss anything). She did not grade harshly. This class was more about writing basics versus business writing. Some of the assignments felt like busy work. She did help to elevate my writing though.
Took her first semester freshman year. I personally thought it was an easy A. Professor Lindelof seems to care about her students and knows what she's doing. The class is basically essays with a handful of easy quizzes based on the reading. Attendance was really only necessary on quiz days & essay days but she still makes going to class worth it.
Going into English 1a after taking a remedial English class was intimidating, but she made the transition easy. Prof Lindelof was one of the best English teachers I've ever had in my experience. She is funny and really cares about the class. She's always happy as has a positive attitude tries to make everyone smile. Overall a great class.
Don't take her class if you are expecting an easy class. She is a real tough grader, even though there isn't much homework. I am an international student and I did struggle because of my grammar and level of English aren't meeting her expectation. If I remember correctly there wasn't grading rubric, and I did not receive much feedback from her.
She comes off as sassy and a little aggressive but she can be nice. I think she grades unnecessarily tough for someone who doesn't always give clear instructions. But you know she's better than other professors but you should only take her if you write well and can handle the workload.
I loved her class! She taught us useful information that helped me get the internship I wanted. definitely take her.
Prof. L exhibits genuine expertise in aspects of the English language. She is a "tough" grader, but in a way that will make you a better writer, no matter what your level. Prof. L is excellent at establishing a clear structure and timeline for the course, and in returning graded submissions promptly. Also, her lectures are energetic and engaging.
She's enthusiastic, kind, and really cares about her students. You have to work for your grade because she's a pretty tough grader for the papers. However, she gives lots of feedback on work. She's always open for questions and help. Her class really isn't as difficult as other reviews may make it out to be. Just gotta put in the effort.
You learn a lot in this class about professional business writing, but she is a tough grader. Assignments and grading criteria isn't super clear.
She isn't very clear on prompts or feedback. Grades unnecessarily hard, easy B but near impossible A. I clutched an A- but it was very stressful and took a lot of work.
I loved her class! I didn't really want to be at SJSU but learned a lot about writing from her. She's not as tough as some people think.
Professors like her are hard to come by. I learned a lot about business writing and she even helped me prepare for an interview. She's engaging and approachable. Definitely take her class!
All of the essays had to be about Silicon Valley, which got a little redundant. But she was very nice.
Very nice person, wants you to be a confident writer. You'll have to buy the reading material, then get quizzed on the specific details of the stories. Filler that's easy to lose points on. Rest of the class is just learning techniques from accomplished writers, then writing. 4 poems (1 sonnet/sestina), 2 fiction stories, and 1 non-fiction piece.
She wasn't a very lenient professor. She also didn't give detailed feedbacks on assigned writings.
I thought she was great! She was very helpful, you just have to ask.
Not a good lecturer. The guideline and requirement of assignments are not clear, and there's little feedback. Take her if you are already good at writing. Find someone else if you need to learn and improve your writing.
All I can say is, tough grader.
You have to work hard for your grade but the class is great. She was approachable and listened to questions i had.
Most enthusiastic professor I've ever had. Makes class fun.
-organized -caring -interesting
I really enjoyed this class. I received a B bc I didn't try as hard (I regret this because it is honestly an easy A class). Very fun professor, lots of energy. Quizzes are pretty easy. Just do the reading and you'll be fine. The reading is actually fun too. She selects amazing pieces to read, very easy to get engaged. Good learning environment
If you try a decent amount, you can get an A. She is okay at giving feedback. Contact her, she will help. If you want to get better at writing, you will need one on one time wither her. Homework are short readings (2-10) pages, then easy quizzes. 2 presentations, 6 papers (500 words+), and final is portfolio (including 1 of 6 papers)
Overall class you mainly construct emails but there is one 5 page paper to do. She wants your video to be on in the zoom meetings and to participate. She is a pretty easygoing person and the class is easy. The only hiccup is that some of her grading is based on her opinion I have gotten 5 assignments with 5 points off with no explanation.
Unclear grading criteria; She could give good comments on an assignment and hard critiques on another and still dock off the same amount of points. Sometimes instructions are unclear and she posts assignments the same day they are due based on the syllabus. You need to keep up or you'll be stuck in limbo.
Class was pretty chill but we had to keep our cameras on. Assignments aren't hard but there are alot of them
She's super enthusiastic and I really respect that, especially online. She's a reasonable grader, despite what people say, and if you ask her why you received a low score, she'll explain what you can work on.
She is overall a solid professor! The class wasn't that difficult as long as you kept up with the work. We had in-class essays that weren't too bad as long as you applied the material you learned. She gave great feedback on assignments and never hesitated to answer questions. She was also very kind and always had a positive attitude.
Overall this professor was fairly good. If you stay on top of the course work it isn't a lot unless you do projects on the last day. Some classes can be boring and students may not want to participate. She is lenient on grading most students will get at least a B but it is hard to get high scores on papers and assignments.
Loved her enthusiasm, made the semester fly by. Reminds me of a highschool english class. Would take again with no hesitation.
She is a great professor and has good enthusiasm when it comes to class. Our final was a podcast and a test. The quizzes weren't hard and we hardly got homework. That being said, it was really boring. I found myself dreading being there the entire time. Granted, its the subject as well but dang, I would count the seconds.
ENGL1A with Lindelof is an easy class. There are not too many essays and almost no homework. She is also lenient when it comes to grading, with the class average being around 80%. Take her if you can!
This teacher is good however she does assign a lot of homework. She can also be very confusing when describing how to do assignments.
tough to get 100 percent on assignments because she is picky about what she wants. You can still get a high grade though. Barely any homework but you do have to read a good amount. Quizzes are easy but some questions are really specific. I did 4 essays and revised 2 of them throughout the year( some of them are timed in-class essays). Chill class.
Great energy from this teacher. Very passionate. Do readings and you will be fine in this class. She also likes to do in-class timed essays.
Professor Lindelof is enthusiastic and organized. While the class has frequent writing assignments, using unstuck AI helped me prepare. Attendance is mandatory but worth it for her engaging lectures.
incredibly kind professor. she cares deeply for all her students and doesn't hesitate to help. her class might be boring for people who don't enjoy english, but she does her best to bring good energy and excitement to the class. she's silly and an easy grader in my opinion. assignments are very easy.
