Dr. Kahlor is a great lecturer and makes each class funny and entertaining. Her class is pretty easy. Reading the textbook isn't necessary since she goes over the material in the book in lecture.
Such a fun class! The professor is quirky and outgoing, keeps information interesting and relevant. I loved the extra material she would show to help reinforce the textbook. Everything is fair and reasonable
Keeps you super entertained during lecture, quizzes are easy and straight from the book, and a good grade is almost guaranteed on the tests if you do the review. She likes students getting As!
Dr. Kahlor is an amazing and inspiring teacher. Her class isn't an easy one, but it's nothing comparing to Dr. Murphy's class. I liked her class a lot. She's interesting and she makes it fun for students. Everyone likes her, but again, if you want a good grade, you have to work for it. I recommend her.
Best teacher ever! Makes going to her class so fun!
I looked forward to her class every day. The weekly quizzes, not so much. Totally worth taking, though. She's funny and very down-to-earth.
All of the context was very clear and straight forward. If you have any question, she is more than glad to help. She has really designed this course for students to get an A. Her personality is really awesome too, she made me laugh hard a couple of times during lecture.
GREAT TEACHER!!! Kahlor is smart, funny, looks like she's 30 (she's like 40 maybe 42) and she like Coke (regular ;). Her examples are the sh*t! You will remember every single example, just because she is so awesome. She actually made me want to study. I haven't missed a single lecture since I took her class, which was not the case before. Take her
Her drysarcastic sense of humor is really funny at first, but it quickly grates on you as the semester wears on. Her mannerisms really annoyed me by the end. She says "Are you guys with me?" or "You guys?!" at least four times every class. But really she is a good professor who clearly knows her stuff and cares about her students. Easy projects.
She's great! I love Kahlor, she's probably my favorite at UT. I took her for Advertising Research and Psychology of Advertising and in both classes I learned a ton and felt like I could approach Kahlor if I needed any help. These classes are not blow off classes by any means but Kahlor is fantastic and I recommend taking her classes.
Loved the class. I was not particularly interested in the material, but she made it worth while. Tests were very straight forward and there were only two of them with an optional final. There are weekly quizzes over chapters in the book (1 quiz per chapter-10 total quizzes). If you study a lot for the exams, you should get a min. of a B+A-.
Kahlor is an amazing teacher! All of her examples are hilarious as well as her side comments. She is a natural comic and teaches in a way that actually makes students want to come to class. Her examples are memorable, which makes for very easy tests. I took one of her tests in about 5 minutes. All the questions are straighforward. Great class!!
Kahlor's Pschology of Advertising class is an easy A. I found it boring and useless to go to class - her lectures were long and mundane. Never read the book and made a B+ in the class (I wouldn't buy the book again if I took the class over). Overall, take the class if you need an easy credit.
Great professor! NOT BORING! Kept me engaged! You don't really need to read but you do need to go to class and take notes. I got an A in this class just by going to class.
Amazing professor really makes you feel confident about choosing advertising as a major.
She has been my favorite teacher so far! her lectures are interesting and whitty and she really engages with her students. Only 3 easy tests and an optional final. Super easy online weekly quizzes. Definitely an interesting class, anyone would love it.
This was by far my favorite class this semester and that was definitely in part because Dr. Kahlor is an amazing professor. If you take this course you HAVE to take Kahlor because she is an amazing speaker and presents the information in a way that is fun and interesting and lets you easily remember the material learned. Also, there's only 2 tests
Hilarious+straightforwardeasy to remember lectures. There's only 2 tests, which are extremely easy, but only if you study the super lengthy review. This class was super interesting and I loved it, which has made me excited to take her research class in a few years. She really tries to include and connect with students (and it works!)
Dr. Kahlor is one of the top professors at UT! Her lectures are both hilarious and memorable. She provides tons of videos, stories and experiments to get the points across.
She's great. There are not that many assignments. Tests and quizzes are easy. She is so funny. This class can be very boring, but she makes the most of it!
ADV319 was one of the first classes I took at UT and I am SO glad I did. Professor Kahlor is a hilarious and super sweet woman that has made me fall more in love with advertising. Only two exams and online quizzes every week, NO papers woo hooo!! Was super helpful to learn some material before taking ADV318J, made it a lot easier for me.
By using expression and emotion, Kahlor does an impeccable job of presenting boring content in an engaging manner. It is obvious that she is passionate about what she does and truly loves watching students learn. UT is lucky to have this instructor.
Everyone knows Ad Research is boring, but Kahlor made it worth taking. She's hilarious, and makes even the most mundane topic tolerable. Tests are based on lecture and textbook with a few online quizzes in between. Work with friends on the quizzes, attend classes, skim the book, and you'll be great.
Dr. Kahlor was so funny and her class was extremely interesting and easy. There are only two exams, an optional final, and weekly quizzes which are online. This was definitely an easy A if you put in the small effort to study for the exams!!
Best professor I have had at UT. Lectures are clear, direct, and hilarious. Reading is helpful for the quizzes, but probably not mandatory. Test cover a lot of information, but study guides make it manageable. Final is optional to replace lowest test grade. Very professional, yet personal. Makes boring topics enjoyable/easy to remember w/ examples.
Dr. Kahlor is such a great professor, super funny, and lectures are always interesting. I'm not an Advertising or even Business major but I took her class as an elective and enjoyed it. It's super easy just pay attention and engage in lectures and skim through the reading and you'll be fine on the tests, honestly. Would take her again
She's the only prof who teaches ad research, but in this case it's a good thing. As long as you go to class & look over power points and the study guide you should be fine for her tests. She's hilarious and turns a pretty stale topic into something actually fun to talk and learn about. I only really used the textbook for the quizzes.
Great elective class! She's pretty funny and tries very hard to make the class interesting, which I appreciated. Easy online quizzes over the textbook chapters, a few in class participation post, and 3 exams - No final. She gives a study guide for each exam which helps a lot and they are super easy mc exams. Take this class, easy A!!
Khalor is great, most straight forward prof I have ever had. She is funny which makes research lectures a little more bearable, there is always a class FB with collaborative reviews and assignments are like half your grade though so don't not see your TA if your grade wasn't what you expected bc they can keep you from getting an A.
Great woman and great professor. Took it as an elective and ended up learning a lot of cool stuff.
Kahlor is hilarious, down to earth, and very respected. She presented the material with so much passion and in such relatable ways even the most boring lessons were enjoyable. You definitely need to prepare for the tests, because they cover a lot of material, but the tests are not difficult. I plan on taking her other class just to have her again.
Course changed Spring 2017. The class was tedious and the tests were more structured in a way that was more confusing(may just be me though). NO more extra credit and she does not round. READ
There are now two exams and it gets very tedious because you have to read the book but none of it is on the test. Reviews don't help.
Do not take this class for an easy A. Agree with previous poster about the change in structure. They made the class harder and its a lot more meticulous
Kahlor is a great professor, she's super funny and made my 3 hour class feel like it was an hour.
Kahlor is absolutely hilarious. If you take the three hour long class, she makes it go by super fast because her lectures are interesting. Tests are pulled straight from lecture and are easy if you pay attention. Weekly quizzes over the textbook and three tests with a take home part for 10 points. Would definitely take her again!
I never regretted showing up to this class despite it being the last of three back to back courses every Tuesday. Psychology of Advertising is vocabulary and memorization heavy -- which isn't my strong suit. However, Professor Kahlor makes the absolute best of the time you have with her and fights to keep your attention. She's a blast!
She is a really great professor and interesting lecturer! Although attendance isn't mandatory, there are random in class activities that you need to be in class to do. There are three tests that aren't too hard if you study but you do need to study for them. Overall a fairly light workload. You should get an A if you do the work and study.
Dr. Kahlor has truly been one of my favorite teachers at UT so far. She really cares about her students! She loves what she teaches and that helps the class be really awesome. It's never boring and a lot of class participation goes one but it's great. It's not an easy class but if you work for it then you can do really good!
Her class is great, and interesting, even though her lectures are a little boring because she talks about a lot of things that are very interesting, but since there are to many things covered per lecture you get saturated sometimes. But she is a great professor and your going to learn a lot. Her tests are not hard, and the quizzes are easy.
Look I love Dr. Kahlor. She's one of my favorite profs I've had here because she's so funny, likeable and reallllyy loves to hear from her students. However, the minimum for an A is a 94 which is crazy to me. I've made low A's on all the exams and am at a 93.6 right now even though I'm doing good in the class? Now I have to try to take the final
If you don't take prof you are missing out on two things. One being an easy A, and two being an enjoyable class atmosphere where you can relax and learn. Her lectures are very interesting and very easy to pay attention to. We had 3 test and a cumulative final (optional), she drops the lowest test. If you don't take her for 319 you are missing out.
My favourite professor this semester. Shes very sweet and understanding with her students. I feel bad, however, because a lot of students take her for granted. She gives great lectures and although they may not be mandatory, I regret not going when I should have. Its not an easy A unless you make an effort knowing the topics covered in this class
I'm an international student and she was one of my favorite professors I had in my whole life! The lectures were all very clear and fun, always with lots of examples and interesting discussions. I loved going to every class. She does weekly online quizzes about the chapter, but they are pretty easy if you read the chapter. Best class ever, love her
What an awesome class! If you listen in lecture and take good notes over everything you'll do great. Like everyone else is saying, she asks that you cover a lot on her study guides for tests, but as long as you study the lecture material as it comes then you'll do great! Overall, the class was a piece of cake.
The material in this class is SO boring. I can't imagine taking it with anyone else. Kahlor is hilarious and that's the only reason this class is manageable. You have to work for the grade, but it's totally do-able. Chapter readings give you an overview of the lecture and are for the quizzes, I never studied the book for the tests.
This was my favorite class of the semester! I looked forward to coming to class every week because of how interesting the material was. She includes tons of examples and discussion opportunities in the lecture so it is easy to understand the concepts. There are quizzes every week and she provides the power points and a study guide for each exam.
Overall good course. There are 2 tests and an optional final. Tests are multichoice, detailed study guide provided. There is an online quiz every week but you can use the book. If you want an A on the tests you will have to spend a solid amount of time studying but it's definitely doable. She drops a few grades for quizzes and discussion posts.
This course is super easy if you pay attention. I took the 3-hour lecture, but I liked getting it done in one session. Quizzes are easy. Test questions are straight from lecture powerpoints, very easy. The final exam is optional, but take it because it's super easy and boosted my grade from an A- to an A. Kahlor is pretty "woke" and real funny!
I loved this class! She made a three hour lecture feel more enjoyable and informative than some of my one hour lectures. Make sure you go to class though, the tests are based off of the information from lectures and the book (but seemed more lecture-focused.) Easy A if you try, plus the final is optional!
Kahlor is easily one of my favorite professors at UT. Her lectures are so interesting and engaging. It is evident she truly cares about her students. She is not only an amazing professor, but an overall generous and authentic person inside and out of the classroom.
Professor Kahlor was one of the best professors I've taken. She made the somewhat boring material of the class fun with her jokes and peppy attitude. Her tests are completely doable, especially if you use the reviews she posts on Canvas. She also has in-class polls pretty frequently, so be pretty good about coming to class.
Random poll questions for attendance. Drops few grades so missing once or twice is good. Three 60 MCQ midterms, optional final. Weekly quizzes due before class online so that is easy, allows to use notes. Midterms are easy, BUT too many terms to remember and not all will be asked. Can ask specific questions from lecture. As a person, nice and FUN.
Course is basically hard self-study, take quizzes. Unfair grading scale, not follows UT. She says B- 80-83, but in reality it is 80-84 (83.9999). Same with A- 90-93.9999. Any other UT prof would consider 93.5 as 94 giving A grade. It is the reason class grade profile for A(s) only is 42% A and 58% A-, which should be other way. Crazy. Same with Bs.
Online quizzes require thorough understanding of chapter which you need to finish prior to class. Liked one class per week, but noisy class. Prof not much help. Optional exam is after Dorm closes, so not useful. Not an easy class. Won't take again.
There is a lot of reading involved that you have to memorize for the exams. There are three 60-question exams and one optional final exam. Her lectures can either be fun or boring depending on what is being covered. Participation includes group discussion posts. Kahlor herself is a really great and funny professor. I would recommend this class.
I liked her class! Even if the lecture was a little boring, I would still go and she cracks me up. She is very straight forward and helps you along the way (by making study guides for tests!!!) but she is pretty strict about not bumping up grades. Tests aren't hard if you do the study guide and ask questions before turning in the assignments!
Class is harder than it needs to be, lectures are boring, but she's an interesting person. If you decide to take this class, make sure to do the research thing early, I got screwed by it. Optional final was on the last day of everything so that was pretty annoying. I didn't use the book really at all, I just used her study guides for the exam.
A decent teacher, even if you aren't in advertising. I put a minimal amount of effort in this class, only using the textbook for the first unit and came out with an A. Take this class if you want an easy class and don't mind working at the study guides. However, I don't feel like I learned anything in this class, so there's a tradeoff there.
Kahlor was one of the best professors I've had at UT. She's hilarious and her class is very fair. I only needed the book for two or three exam questions each unit and online quizzes. She gives study guides before exams, an optional final, two major assignments, a handful of small ones, and you're allowed to re-do one assignment. I loved her class!
Professor Kahlor was one of my favorite professors. Her lectures are engaging and hilarious (which especially helps for the longer lectures). She gives weekly online quizzes and 4 tests (drops the lowest 1). Attendance is taken through in-class polls, but she drops a couple. Her tests are multiple choice and really straightforward. Loved this class
I took Psychology of Advertising. Kahlor is awesome! I had her for a 3-hour lecture which was painful but she made it worth it. She is a funny gal and makes it pretty clear what we need to study to do well on tests. Many people don't do the textbook readings but it is required for quizzes. You'll get a better grade if you actually read.
Dr. Kahlor is a one-of-a-kind professor. She cares deeply about learning and that her students understand her material. Her lectures are very engaging and information heavy, and notes are important because she will say things that you will be tested on that are not uploaded on her powerpoint. Read your textbook! Grades are information heavy.
So interesting and fun. I thought the 3-hour class would be tough to get through, but she made it so interesting and kept students engaged. Gives you a study guide for tests and they're pretty easy if you look over your notes. Easy to learn and listen to
This was my favorite class I've taken by far. Professor Kahlor is hilarious and has really good lectures. The tests aren't that difficult just make sure you study. Quizzes are on the harder side bc you only get 10 minutes but use your book to help you.
Most caring professor I've ever had. She handled switching to online class due to corona with ease & always asked how we were doing with genuine concern. She is an amazing person. Textbook reading is a lot & there are weekly quizzes, but if you keep up with work you'll do great. Tests are easy, literally definitions, study guides for each test.
Awesome professor, interesting lectures, easy exams. There's a lot to memorize for the exams, but you will get an A in the class as long as you study stuff on the study guide and go to class.
She gives a study guide with terms to study a week before the exam. I only used the textbook to study that content, and reviewed all the Powerpoints. Tests can be tricky, so be prepared to at least study a bit. Kahlor is super approachable and fun. Lectures are super fun and engaging. I see a lot of people post her class on Snap.
For context, I took this class during COVID-19. Kahlor is so understanding and honestly a gem in Moody. She is so funny and quirky. I love it! Make sure to go to your TA to get advice for your assignments, do the study guide, and don't forget those discussions :) You have to work for your grade but the class is a lot easier now that it is open-note
Dr. Kahlor is my favorite professor this semester! This class is asynchronous so everything is pre-provided- you watch on your own time but there are specific due dates for things. 3 exams of 50 MC questions that are easy. I can't stress how much I love her lectures. She is just a great person overall and I highly recommend her class(es).
Research is not interesting in the slightest, but Kahlor makes the class fun. Very accommodating during COVID, and always reaching out to ask us if we need any help. Exam questions come straight from the study guide. Assignments can be tricky, so always email your TAs (who grade them) a day or two beforehand to look them over.
Kahlor is definitely one of my favorite professors! Easy and fun class! Her lectures are fun and it feels like she really cares about her students. The exams were pretty easy, mostly definition based, and she posts study guides so just follow that and you'll be fine. There are four assignments that you might take some time to write though.
Professor Kahlor is by far my favorite professor at UT. I had taken her ADV 319 class before 344K so I knew this class was going to be great, and it was! The assignments weren't too difficult and the exams were reasonable. Her lectures were never boring and she makes sure we all understand the material before we move on the next thing.
Psychology of advertising was by far my favorite class this semester. I found it interesting, course load was not bad at all, and Kahlor is such an amazing woman. Im so sad this class wasnt in person but I hope to have her again in the coming years. She is a gem at UT Austin.
She lays everything out simply so there's no reason to turn in stuff late/get a bad grade as it can be done a week in advance. As long as you put thought into your answers and turn things in on time (or even work ahead) you will do great in this class. Exams very straightforward. Loved this class so much!!!
Dr. Kahlor is an amazing and hilarious professor! I took her for Psych for Adv and she was extremely clear about all objectives for the semester along with their grading criteria. Everything was open note and nothing was too hard as long as you applied yourself. She drops the two lowest quizzes and discussion posts. Very passable class
Phenomenal teacher. Knows what she is doing, expresses deep concerns to educate her students. Fun material and interesting topics. The book may be a lot to read sometimes but exams pull info straight from lectures/notes. One of my favorite classes so far and numerous ways to get ahold of her if more help is needed.
Super easy class! Loved that it was online, and the content was interesting as well. Quizzes and tests were easy as long as you took good notes and read the textbooks/watched the lecture. Great class!
This class is definitely not super interesting if you don't have a passion for data and analytics. Getting an A in this class is definitely not easy. There are about 8 quizzes from the textbook, 4 tests (but your lowest score gets dropped), weekly discussion posts, and 4 assignments that make up half of your grade in the class.
This was my first time taking her class and I loved it! Her lectures are interesting to listen (and take notes) to and the exams aren't bad at all. She gives you a study guide so it's great. there were weekly discussion posts and it was super easy! you just have to write your opinion and reply to other ppl's posts. totally recommend this class!
Dr. Kahlor is so nice and caring. This class is an easy A as long as you complete the study guide provided before the exams. TAs are great and helpful too.
I LOVE HER. The lectures were interesting, entertaining, and insightful. There's a short quiz and discussion post weekly and they're so simple. I took this asynchronously and it was wonderful. A great class for any major, especially Communications students or those interested in advertising or who love psychology.
I wasnt a big fan of Kahlor. Dont get me wrong shes a super caring person and is a professor you can always reach out to, but her lectures arent the best and if you ask her a question she will more than likely say she doesnt understand it. The TAs do the grading for the class and they honestly make the class harder than it should be.
Dr. Kahlor is alright? Lectures are 1-2 hours long, monotone, and there's quite a few to watch every week. Most of the lectures seem to be from 2020, so the current events she talks about in some of the lectures are off. The course is organized, it's an extraordinarily easy weekly quiz, a mild discussion post & a few replies on those posts.
This class is fantastic. If you need a class to boost your GPA, this is the class (I believe I finished with a 97-98). Watch short lectures, answer 5 questions quizzes (typically found on quizlet), and finally write a 2-3 sentence reflection. This class was exactly what I needed my first semester at UT. Teacher cared and was accessible.
Really fantastic class and professor. It was all super easy but I learned so much about advertising. I found it really interesting, and Dr Kahlor does an amazing job
I love Kahlor. She was in my first college semester and i am so excited to take more of her classes . She is funny, give you her number to text her, and is a really great professor. She doesnt try to prove herself, so shes really chill and youll get out what you want from the class.
A great person and professor. One of those professors that you really learn from and enjoy learning from. There was a lot of material but if you do everything and study you will do well.
Kahlor is amazing! Definitely go to lecture because she assigns discussions that can only be done if you're in class. She is really easy to talk to and always willing to engage in a conversation with you. Four big assignments through the sem but you have more than enough time to do them. Talk to your TAs! They do the grading for the class.
This was a cool class. I like research and found it interesting. The last unit of the semester was by far the hardest (math). Otherwise very doable and you learn how to do most things you will actually be doing at a job.
Prof. Kahlor was great! Thursdays lectures are mandatory - and you work with a group throughout the semester on assignments and discussion posts. Very easy quizzes each week on course material and 2 exams throughout the whole semester that aren't bad at all as long as you pay attention in class. Overall a great, average difficultly class!
This class made me dislike Dr. Kahlor. She is obviously very passionate about the field, but it was the way she went about teaching that made the class unbearable. She talked to us like high schoolers who needed to be babied or reprimanded for talking? misbehaving? It felt like we were being belittled in every class while she preached 'safe space.'
This class was great and fairly easy! The lectures are long, but she provided PowerPoints and transcripts that I used most of the time. The tests and quizzes are timed, which can be stressful, but she provides all the resources to make a good grade.
such a sweet prof i took the class for fun and it was such a nice break from my other classes, she cares a lot about the content and her lectures are engaging. 2 short writing assigments and a quiz every week that are super easy I think i spent like 1 hour on this class every week doesn't take much effort but super interesting content
I loved professor Kahlor's teaching style. She kept everyone engaged and is hilarious. Her tests aren't very difficult and this class is def an easy A.
She's a really cool professor and clearly cares about her course material and her students, take her if you can!
Professor Kahlor is an engaging teacher in that her lectures are not tedious to get through. It's important to watch these in order to fill out the weekly lecture checkpoints. Weekly quizzes are over the assigned chapter and they are timed but shouldn't be difficult if you read the material. Discussion posts and comments are required, too. Easy A!
Doctor Kahlor is awesome. Lectures are content heavy on Tuesdays but she makes most of it pretty interesting and engages with the class. Thursdays were more focused on an activity which was nice especially if you have friends in the class to be in a group with. Definitely important to attend class. Tests hardish but manageable. Funny, caring lady.
This class was very structured and easy to follow! There are a few assignments due every week: quiz, lecture checkpoint, a discussion post, and two responses to other discussion posts. I enjoyed Dr.Kahlor's online, recorded lectures, and found that they were really insightful! I totally recommend this class for anyone who needs a psychology credit!
Super easy class. I did each week's worth of work in about 30 minutes the Sunday before and I honestly forgot I was even taking the class half the time.
Great lectures.
Lectures are super interesting and not a lot of assignments, just do the readings and watch the lectures and you'll be good
Interesting and easy A class. This class is asynchronous so attendance does not matter. The schedule is the same every week with due dates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Dr. Kahlor is always helpful if you email her. Biggest piece of advice is to take notes on EVERYTHING in the lectures - the test refers to videos you watch.
Dr. Kahlor's lectures are interesting, and it's pretty easy to do decently well in this class despite the high requirements for certain letter grades (an A starts at a 96). Make sure to take notes on EVERYTHING in lectures and read the textbook chapters, as that's what exams are based on.
Very easy class if you did well in ADV 309 and just an easy class overall. Professor Kahlor does a good job at making easy assignments that still allow you to apply what you learned and if you don't understand she is always available!
Great professor, great lecture and very organized class. While be aware if you don't like group work, didn't really enjoy working with my teammates.
Attendance only counts on group project days, with the projects super easy. Kahlor was very approachable and caring, 10/10 professor. Always responded to emails and Chatter. The SWOT assignment is probably the hardest part, but that is it. I was lucky to have a good group for projects though.
While it is easy to get a decent grade in this class, an A starts at a 96. Lots of fairly easy assignments but it is very easy to make a mistake and drop quiz grades. Tests cover many obscure facts so it is important to take notes on anything possible. Quizzes and tests are structured annoyingly but doable. Lectures are hard to sit through.
I just want to know in what world a 91 is a B and how in order to get an A in this class you need a 96. Seems outrageous
class was fine- completely asynchronous which is nice & I felt like most of the class content was common knowledge, but the threshold for an A is a 96 (no rounding), and the tests/quizzes include questions on tiny little details/statistics. so therefore this class is silly and should be a gpa booster and yet it's bringing me down
To get an A you can miss only 6 questions on the exam ( with full score on quiz). Quiz is based on textbooks which is 8 questions per week. Around 120 min Lecture per week. WATCH LECTURE!! because exams are based on lecture. Good luck!
good professor and really easy class. the test and quiz questions are on quizlet. take this class with kahlor!
I took this class for my social and behavioral science core. Im an RTF major so I wanted something easy and this WAS easy. Take it. You won't regret it.
Dr. Lee Ann Kahlor is a good professor who is knowledgeable in the area she covers. Psych of Advertising Web is a very lecture and reading-heavy course. Be prepared to spend a couple of hours listening to lectures alongside reading chapters every week. The lectures were knowledgable, but I found myself having a very hard time paying attention.
Engaging lectures, but the high bar for an A (96%) makes this class tricky. Take detailed notes and utilize resources like unstuckstudy along with the textbook to ace the tests and quizzes.
Attendance was only mandatory on Thursdays where you do an easy group assignment. All assignments are straight-forward except for the SWOT which is a little more complex. It can be redone, but the feedback received isn't detailed. I do I think it will improve. Dr. Kahlor can be a little intense, but is open to criticism and very self-aware.
Good professor but your TA grades everything, and my TA was either unreachable or graded oddly. TA would ghost on meetings or emails. Kahlor's lectures were good, and thursdays were usually group work. I loved my group so it was a good experience.
She is amazing! This semester, she said she switched how she taught the class and it was a great time. She actually put time, effort, and energy into creating a class where students can succeed. She puts in as much effort as you if you want to succeed, she will be more than happy to help you. I also loved the way she had us work in groups.
Professor Kahlor is fantastic and clearly has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. Her lectures were engaging and the assignments really helped you learn. Definitely would take again.
(Spring 2025, Asynchronous) Weekly lectures & chapter readings and 3 easy assignments per week and 2 exams in the semester. Exams are based on both the readings & lectures. Her lectures are entertaining, and I overall had a great time in this class. Would recommend!
Khalor is a super sweet and caring professor, she is knowledgeable and you can tell she enjoys her job. I have taken multiple of her online classes, and they are all good. Difficult when it comes to the workload at times. Lots of writing, projects, and tests; however, she is always accessible for help, and gives clear instructions. Learned lots.
Note that attendance is extremely important to the professor, and she has little wiggle room. The syllabus is not extremely accurate, given it was provided Tuesday would be individual work and lecture and Thursday would be group work. Most Tuesdays end up being group work.
Super great professor. I took her online advertising class and it was super easy and at your own pace. There were textbook reading but I would always put it in a text-to-speech site online and listen to it in the background while I did other things. Everything is OPEN NOTE-OPEN BOOK (including the 2 exams). Very structured and routine-like class.
There is the same 3 weekly assignments + lectures + textbook reading. Don't even have to watch the lectures or read to do assignments generally. Super easy and the lectures are actually interesting if you watch them. Recommend for a good elective course
There's group work almost every class but its super easy to finish in class time. There's a few easy weekly assignments that you do outside of class. Otherwise, there's just 2 big projects. meet with TAs to get a good grade. not hard to do well, just try a little
Professor Kahlor is energetic and her lectures teach the course material effectively. The class is easy, though there are a lot of assignment (3 per week: quiz, discussion, lecture review). The baseline score for an A is harsh (96), but this score is achievable if you complete the work.
Kahlor was amazing! I'm an engineering student who needed the soc/behav science credit, and I have no regrets. What I did that helped a lot (and not saying you should) is I completed a lot of the modules way before they were due at the beginning of the semester, so later (when other classes got tougher) I didn't have to worry about ADV.
Fun, but beware of the reading. They are long and WILL be referenced on exams. Everything is open book, but you cannot just skim and get away with it. Take extensive notes on the lectures, too - they reference the embedded videos on the exams. Grading can take a minute to get back, and those chapter quizzes are on a 10-minute timer (so be fast!)
