Show great efforts to student who are struggling. Understand students and gives a warm comfort. Show participation and efforts and she'll do her best to help you. Have a hard time with English? Take her so you can have the chance to pass the class.

Just because she's easy for ENC 1101,it's not the same in 1102. She's very strict and expect you to have all the rules down. Very tough to get an A in the class. Teases you with B+ or C+, but won't give you the couple points needed to get a better grade.

Shes a very nice prof.. shell do anything to help you. shes very approachable i had her 2 sems. ago she really made u feel free to express any ideas or adress any questions. Her class was one of the best class i had so far at santa fe.

She is a very nice teacher. The only thing that I didn't like was that getting an "A" in her class is almost impossible. My writing has improved so much, but all I seem to attain is a "B+".

I got an A in her class. It's not impossible, just work for it. I really liked this class and I think Ms. Montagne is a great teacher. I liked the assignments. I was challenged and I left feeling like I actually learned something.

First she hardly gives out 'A's for her classes so be awear that you'll have to make a lot of drafts unless u are a natural author. I tried really hard n went to the writing lab for help but only manage to get a 'C+' in her class.

This isn't the easy class and she makes it very hard to make an A. I got a B in the class and the class consisted of discussion on what we were reading. Not too hard, but she does like for you to attend all classes and ALWAYS talk in class. She is big on participation!!

Very difficult to get an A, but I learned alot. If you are struggling, go for help b/c she will walk you through the steps.

She is the BEST english teacher that I have ever had! Her teaching style is very clear and interesting. She does like a lot of class participation but she makes you feel very comfortable about it. I would advise anyone to take her class!

While I'm happy with my A and happy with the teaching method, it seemed that a lot of students were trying very hard to no avail. She seemed to give me a nice grade ceiling at 95%, though most people wouldn't complain with that. Great sense of humor, great teaching techniques, she just seems to stick one grade on every student.

Nice and very helpful teacher but strict with class policy.

It was a lot of work, but I came out of this class with an "A". You have to attend class regularly, as part of your grade is based off of discussion. You should also bring your essays to her several days before they are due, and let her review them for you. She gives good constructive feedback on the essays, and it makes a letter grade difference.

She knows what she is doing, but she also knows that She would Prefer to lean towards a worse grade for you than a better one. She wants to appy pressure and have you work hard to overcome her strictness.

She is demanding on essays, but this is college so you should know how to write a decent paper. Picky about quote reference, which is understandable. Make sure you pay attention to details in the literature. Class disscussions help - explanation of every detail in poetry and short stories. Go to class. It helps. Plus, it counts for your grade.

Very VEry STRICT!!!! You will not fail this class if you attend regularly ,but that isnt exactly good news. I have gotten A's on all of my college papers including ENC1101. In this class I never got above a 78. Seems like she sticks one grade on you for the whole semester. Take her with caution.

She is a good teacher. You must do the readings, but overall she is very clear and a really nice lady! If you go to office hours, she can help you! She talks a little too much, but overall shes good!

She VERY strict on grading essays!! its super hard to get an A on an essay no matter how hard you work. You may think your a good writer until you enter her calss. She has very specific rules on how she likes things done shes kind of a neat freak. Really annoying voice. BUT she is nice.

She is an exceptionally good teacher. Not an easy one, but she really teaches you to write English. If you are interested only to pass the class then find someone else because she expects true college level work. I got an A on her class. I recommended her to my friend, and she got an A too.

She' a nice lady and a good teacher. I personally am not a fan though. She has her own style and interpretation of how writing is done and some of what you may have been taught will conflict with her way and require adjustment to achieve a good grade. Not an easy class. She requires participation as well.

For ESL students she is the best. She is very helpful and nice. I got a B+ and learned a lot from her.

She is a great professor. She is very helpful and welcoming. I am currently taking her now. I see my paragraphs improving every time we make one so it means that I am learning. Some students complain about strictness. Come on. It's college. It's for discipline so I don't mind her being a little strict. I recommend her. :)

I loved this class and her. She is a hard grader; you really have to work on essays. But it's a discussion-based class and it's really fun if you participate. And there are a lot of easy quizzes and participation points that you can use to bring up your grade if you don't do well on the essays. I really enjoyed this class.

It's so intense class Never easy. u must attend classes & do assignments:Also,if u wanna get A, u have to have good English too. She is fair to everyone because she just follows her syllabus. It doesn't matter u study hard or not. i just recommend u need to check her syllabus before u take her class. that's all what she's gonna treat u.

In my opinion, Prof. Montagne is an excellent professor. She explains very well and returns the essays on time with comments that are very helpful to improve the writing. I learned a lot.

This lady is one tough cookie. Her syllabus is very rigorous and she is meticulous. However, now I am so HAPPY I took her class one year ago. I learned SO MUCH. I am an ESL student, and she tremendously helped me to take my English to a whole new level. The class is not easy at all, but IT'S WORTH IT!

Ms. Montagne is an excellent professor. While she challenges her students she's also very understanding to anyone who is struggling. She's happy to help and never talks down to you. She pushes you to be a better writer and to look at literature in a different and deeper way. Taking her class will help you so much with other classes. Great teacher!

Montagne was a good professor. There is a lot of reading and writings but the assignments are fairly easy as long as you do them. She does not just give you the grade, you have to put in the effort. Overall had a pleasant experience and would recommend for ENC1101.

There is not very much homework at all, but it can get pretty boring in class since it is usually a discussion on the readings she assigns. I don't think she is a tough grader, but if you have some trouble with grammar then you are going to want to ask her for help or go to the writing lab.

Very good at being clear what she wants, but figuring out what how she wants it is difficult. She is an extremely tough grader! Does so many in class essay. I would not take unless you are an amazing writer. She is nice but definitely has favorites.

She is the World's best teacher. I learned more in this class than any other. She is very helpful, but very strict on details. I treasured her corrections and showing me the academic way to write. This will be very useful in my future education and professional life.

My first turnoff from the class was all the material came from a world lit anthology. We didn't use actual books. Her lectures are alright, but her discussions can be shallow. It's worth taking if you're into literature, but she's difficult to listen to. Every time she raises a new point her thought always begins with an annoying upward inflection.

She is very nice but don't let her kindness fool you this class is no breeze. A lot of reading needs to be done for this class and all of the essays you write come from these readings. She is super organized and lays out the entire schedule for you weeks in advance. Make sure you read the assigned homework or you'll be lost. Nice prof., hard class.

I took ENC1101 with Ms. Montagne. She is a good choice, and although some students don't like her I did. She assigns some reading (20 pages, sometimes 30 a week) and will sometimes quiz you on it, sometimes it's only a class discussion. She gives good feedback if you seek her out. Her grading is fair, and she is a nice person.

Ms. Lee Montagne explains grammar clearly. She gives plenty of time to write an essay. She gives enough practice, so you are ready for the final. She gives a lot of changes to get good credits, and he cares about her students. I will take her class again.

Yes, she is a tough grader, but she wants you to do an excellent paper and most important to learn and understand the rules. 3 major writings and in class small writigns. If you want a good grade you will to proof read more than twice.

I took Prof. Montagne's class during the spring before/during the pandemic. She was a very kind and caring professor. I reached out to her outside of class and she helped me fix my grades and my papers. Her editing is thorough because she cares. When everything went online, she was nothing short of helpful and accommodating. Just put effort in.

Overall, Ms. Monatgne is a decent teacher. She is caring and lets students turn in one late essay (up to a week). She is a very tough grader though. It seems impossible to get an A on an essay, but she gives very helpful feedback.

Prof Montagne was a phenomenal professor. If you enjoy writing, she will aid in growing you to become a better writer. She takes the time to aid each individual student when there is a need of help. Considering it is an English/Comp course, there are several writing assignments, but she is clear in her expectations. She gives good feedback too.
