Knows what he is talking about. His tests are easy cause he tells u exactly what they are although they are essays and short answers just make sure u study what he tells u to. He kinda takes forever to grade but in the end it works to your benefit.

This is such a great teacher! He's my favorite teacher that I've taken so far and I'm in year 3 now! He's really funny and makes his class fun. Tests aren't so bad as long as you study what he tells you, and he does tell u everything on them.

Took all his classes, great teacher. Go to class and read a little so you can answer his questions. Use class discussion to keep lectures short. Gives you all the test questions before the test. Study country locations for extra credit each test.

Great Teacher. He is hard but if you meet with him several times and show you are interested in the subject he will help you out. The book is extremely hard to undersand and he expects you to study for a couple of hours everyday. Hard but good teacher.

Outgoing teacher. Funny. Likes students to participate in class. Class is very interesting and he prepares you well for the test. Tests are short answer and essay format but they are very long, and require detailed answers which use the entire blue book.

There exists no logical explanation as to why anyone should fail this class. If you do then you probably shouldn't even be in school, it might not be for you.

Although the tests are essays they shouldn't be a problem since he prepares you fully for them. Sometimes I get the feeling he doesn't completely know what he's talking about though. Still a good teacher if you need a kick back A.

He is a great teacher! He knows a lot about his stuff. He tends to be on the liberal side. His views aren't always accurate so some information he gives is not accurate, but for the most part it is. Overall if you listen in class you'll do great!

I feel that he was a good teacher but the tests were soo hard. I am not a good essay test-taker and there was a lot of material to know. But I will give him props because he knows what he is talking about and makes it fun.

he is the best profesor, Clear and has three tests, they are all essay, and he gives you the info ahead of time and you have to do a 12 page paper which is not so bad because you have the whole semester and one debate. Its alot of information but go to class and you will be fine.

Great Professor. It is one of those classes where the first test (worth the least) is the hardest and every week the class gets easier. The final is the easiest test of all and you write one paper. Plus he is very cool about helping you out!

This class is very self explanitory. 3 tests 1 speech 1 paper. He gives you a review before every test and the test is 100% identical to the review. Very easy class to Ace if you just pay attention.

One OF the Best Professors/Teachers I have Ever Had. He Has Inspired me to Be a Poli Sci Major and Teach for a living. He Will Make you Work your brain and question everything that you think and feel Politicly. He is a GREAT listener and 98.5% of the time unbias, no % less than that on campus.

Mr. Haggerty is a wonderful teacher. He actually makes you think! He also takes a subject that most are not all that interested in, and makes it quite enjoyable. He has a wonderful sense of humor, and is simply a good man. An excellent instructor!!!!!

Makes me want to strive for a good grade. Hard essay tests. Explains exactly what will be on them, but not enough time to give them justice. One problem: I scheduled a make up test, he left the wrong test in the library, he wanted to mark me down for taking it late, played dumb when approached.

HARD TESTS NOTHING LEARNED IN CLASS

Smart, good sense of humor, really knows his stuff. Pretty tough at grading- I nailed every point he taught on my essays but generally got Bs- according to him one has to go beyond what is taught in class to get outstanding (A). Unfair in my opinion. Besides the grading, he's a great teacher.

Haggerty might be my favorite prof. at Saddleback. He does lean a little left but respects opinions. His class format is perfect with minimal tests, a paper, and a simple group debate. He was a little better with PS1 than others, but his organization and good attitude make the class worth it.

He is harder than most saddleback professors, but in the end it is not too bad. He wants you to actually learn. It is sad i am saying that but lets be honest Saddleback is too easy. Haggerty makes is 5% harder than the average teacher because you have to write essays....big deal!!!

AWESOME PROFESSOR!!! Time flies in his class, so get his class and attend it. Teaches objectively but you'll find where stands. Gives test questions before each of 3 tests: 10 Short answer 3 essays - long but easy. One long term paper 10pgs and do somethin like M.U.N. to get honors credit.

He is one of the best teachers at Saddleback, don't listen to the idiot that gave him a low rating (The individual must have mixed up their teachers because Haggerty is great) The only requirment for taking his class is pass 6th grade English something the indivudal that gave him a low rating did not do.

Prof. Haggerty is a good teacher. The tests are all essays and they require a lot of time to compose together. He expects the students to participate in the majority of the lecture so be prepared to read the book! It takes him a long time to grade tests but he really seems to care about his students. If you study hard you can get and A.

Mr. haggerty is a great teacher, he is knows everything about the hot topics in politics, but when i comes to exams, they are pretty hard becuase he makes write 3 essays in one hour and half, plus answering 10 other questions. ANyways he will give you much love....

This class was kind of hard. Be prepared to write a lot for the essays. The vocabulary definition portion of the test is easy, but you have to be very specific. Overall, Haggerty was cool, and easy going. Just be sure volunteer answers or he'll randomly call on people. Buy the book or find a friend to share. Not a lot on homework. Ended up with a B

Overall enjoyed the class. If you study the material he provides, you will pass the class. You pretty much pick what will be on the last two exams with the only variable being how he views and grades your essays. Get used to the word "vague" being written all over your tests! Would've liked to see more debate in the class. Good teacher.

Mr. Haggerty is a great teacher. Don't even think in taking his class on summer. There is a lot of information, but he explains it very clear. Very hard to get an A unless you make sure he notice you. He was very unfair on my first exam.I make him noticed me and he was pretty fair in the second and third. He could care more about his students.

I liked him although I did not care for the subject and I was hoping he would make it more interesting. He isn't that hard and he is a teacher that cares about his students.

His class was fun, fair, and educational though some of the political lectures were just a bit tedious. The tests were moderate, long but easy. If you studied you will do well. The only thing I didn't like was the long long term research paper.

This class and teacher are borderline too easy. If you read the book, you honestly wouldn't have to come to class. Mr. Haggerty is pretty cool too, great sense of humor and he really wants to help everyone out. The only bad thing is, is this he isn't that clear on some things, but any moron that knows anything about government can pass this class.

Just needed to take the class to graduate and glad i don't have to take it again. A lot of work for a GE class and EVERYONE is supposed to take.

He gives you the potential essay and short questions before the test and you choose 3 essays and 10 shorts to answer. he is a very good teacher. I got an A. Highly recommended Professor!! To all who say he is hard, those are the ones that just want to believe they can cruise thru required GE courses with no work involved , this is one class you wont be using SCANTRONS for testing. Overall this teacher really wants you to succeed and actually use your brain in class unlike some of these easy professors!

He is a good teacher, alot of students expect everything to be handed to them. in this class you have to work! Tests are easy, you take 3 tests and he gives you EXACTLY whats on the test before, then you choose a certain amount of short answer (10 out of 25) and 3 long essays (out of 5-8) Just do the reading and go to class and youll be fine!

I took this class in the summer, therefore, it was quite intense, but Professor Haggerty made class very informative and tells you exactly what his expectations are. 3 short essay test, he wants to make sure you understand the material not just mark A B C.

One of Saddleback's best. You really get involved in the class with discussions, debates, etc. Sure the midterm/final are essay, but he gives you the QUESTIONS BEFORE THE TEST! EASY! Give a little effort and you will do fine and have fun at the same time!

Great professor, now I know why they call him one of Saddleback's best. Give an effort and you'll get a good grade. Not your typical saddleback class where you can get an A yet only go to half the classes - BUT, he makes the material interesting and makes you learn. He is better then the other PS/HIST professors who are dry and boring.

he did 3 non cumlative quizes, one group assingment, and one writing assingment. calss participation gets points too, but is not at all manditory. he knows the subject very well. his tests are easy, you just need to memorize what he tells you to.

Remember you are in college and you are paying for this. Show up to his class and pay attention. Answer a couple questions every week so that he knows who you are and do the work. You should have not problem passing this class.

This teacher is very easy and tells you exactly what is on the test although the Spring semester starts tomorrow and I still don't have my grade from the Fall. It seems like he lost track with our class and we get punished for his lack of organization.

Haggerty is rad. Very intelligent, knows what he is teaching inside and out. he does not require that you come to class but, prefers participation. you actually have to study for his tests,they are in essay form. takes a while to get work graded, but the guy has several classes so give him a break and don't bug him about getting work back.

Tests are written form in green books, but it helps because it really makes you study for exams. Gives you almost the whole semester for term paper. Awesome teacher!!!!

please understand the difference between 'being graded on spelling' and him 'notating your misspelled words.' he DOES NOT grade on spelling he merely points out your misspelled words and at this point in school there should be few! if you dont know how to spell a word, choose a different word you do know how to spell, thats the beauty of English!

He is usually done with class early, and class time is pretty cool. He's not boring:) Takes forever to get papers back to you. just study your test questions (YOU choose your questions ahead of time! You cannot be unprepared or surprised it's a freakin godsend the way he does his tests!) I was doing 17units while in his class and it was still easy.

This class is easy to pass, very hard to get an A in. Grading structure designed to pack F students and A students alike into the same C and B range. The trade off is that you receive grade A education. Liberal perspectives yielded higher marks. Test and project instructions followed perfectly will yield B or C, must do more to get As

Haggerty is a detailed oriented essay grader and a large amount of the class was focused on writing essays. Not an "easy" class but a FUN class if you like a challenge. You get the grade you earn.

If you want a class that will prepare you for "real" college then take this professor. He is a pretty nice guy, but the grade you get in this class is directly related to how much effort you put in. 3 Test, one paper, and a group project (panel discussion or debate). I got an A, but it is a pretty hard class. I'm glad I took it!

Super easy class. 3 "quizzes" containing 15 definitions and 3 short essays. Just memorize 15 definitions (that he gives you) and the main points of each essay (that he also gives you), and you'll get A's. Do a debate (vs. a panel, it's easier). And at least run your paper's thesis by him once. He doesn't really read the paper. Take him if you can.

Overall it is an easy class but he s EXTEMELY picky on tests. I gave textbook definitions and he said I needed more detail...However he does explain the material well. I did a debate and I would recommend doing a panel discussion because you dont have to know as much material. He's funny and has good communication, I recommend him!

He gives you the essay topics beforehand and 10 vocab words... come the test you pick 2 out of the 6 essays and write all u know about them then pick 10 words and define them. He is, by far, the best teacher at Saddleback. He makes sure to give you both sides of a topic/issue and then lets you decide what you want to think. The class isn't easy and you have to work for your A, but you will learn from his classes.

Haggerty is a really cool teacher to have. He's really helpful and clear when he teaches. Barley any homework except for a few things. Tests are pretty hard, will do really well in here if you're interested in Political Science, pay attention, and show up to class. He actually made me more interested in how politics work.

I took international relations and did ok. He is an amazing teacher tells you exactly what will be on the test but his grading is ridiculously hard. My tests were basically word for word of the book and he would comment "expand". I am not a P.S major so it was hard for me. I only recommend taking it if you're interested in politics, which I'm not.

Hard grader on exams, writes "too general" for numerous answers you give on a test. Not a class for you if politics is not your thing. All in all though, he was all right.

Professor Haggerty strongly encourages critical thinking among students, which may be why he writes "too general" for those who memorize the textbook definitions word for word. No, he will not hold your hand, write notes and read the textbook to you. Overall, he is a great teacher and holds you responsible for your education.

I honestly have nothing bad to say about this guy. He tells u what he wants u to know; 3 essays, 3 tests. I am a bad test taker but his class is really manageable. 90% of the class got B on his tests. Pretty straight forward. TAKE THE NOTES ON THE BOARD! Look up the 15 words, turn in ur paper in MLA. know something on ur essay question. DEBATE. =A

Haggerty is a nice professor, but can be a subjective grader at times. As long as you write down the terms and listen to him during class you should be fine. Also, his tests are pure memorization so be prepared for that if you take him.

These bad comments about Professor.Haggerty greatly confuse me. I took him over the summer(which is a semester of content in six weeks!) and he was incredibly helpful. His notes were clear, the exams were essays+definitions, a paper, and a project. All of that made me cringe at first, but soon enough I learned it was fine. : ) Easy A if you STUDY.

Dr. Haggerty pretty much tells you what you need to know on the test. He tells you the essay questions there and short answers all you need to do is study what you need to know. Not sure why others found him so hard. He really spells out what you must know. Put some effort in and you will get an A. Participate too!

This class was ridiculously easy. Idk why people are bashing on him so hard. He literally GIVES you the test questions beforehand & you CHOOSE which ones you write about. 1 essay, which i BS-ed and got a B, group project, 3 test. took summer class got an A. just take notes and you need the book.

If you are good at memorization take this class. yes, he does pretty much give you ALL the answers before each test, but he expects you to memorize 10 short answer questions and 3 essay questions for each test, and he expects you to put a lot of information on each. Besides the memorizing, it was easy, although he grades pretty harshly.

Alright here's the thing about Professor Haggerty. He's very smart and funny and makes the material interesting. Easy A if you just memorize the essay questions and short answers. He literally GIVES you the answers. 3 Quizzes (including a midterm and final) and an essay. Recommend highly taking this class

2 exams, 1 research paper, and a final make your grade. He tells you exactly whats on each exam, gives you notes on the board explaining how to answer the questions and expects you to translate this onto your written exam essays. Take good notes, go to class and you'll do great! Great to talk with about U.S. history and economics. Awesome!

Very clear about what he wants. Took this class in the summer. 1 Research paper, 1 Panel Discussion/Debate, 3 Written Exams. He spent every moment preparing us for the test questions. Learned ALOT. He legitimately gave you the essay questions and the answers. Just do some rough drafts of the essay questions and you will Ace the test.

3 test, 1 panel or debate, gives you the short answers for the test as well as the essay questions. As long as you go over the vocabulary he gives you, and go a little more in-depth rather then just the definition this class isn't difficult. He does grade a little tough on the essays but the more you write the better.

He's not that bad. Don't let these reviews scare you. I got Bs on two tests and the term paper. I only got an A on the final and the panel discussion, and I ended up with an A in class. On the essays, he just wants the very basics. They're not hard. Write big and clear. He tells you the essay questions beforehand so write them at home & memorize it

I got an A on every single quiz and final exam. His class is easy. You don't even have to show up to class only when he's "reviewing" the chapters for the quizzes. You have to know the very basics for the quizzes. For example, if you're comparing the US & UK google their governments and learn the basic of the branches and you're good.

All his classes have the same grading basis. Once you learn his style and system the class becomes an easy A. Three tests, one presentation, one paper. For tests, just use key terms in the essay and you will do well. State the facts. For the paper, use lots of citations. For the presentation, just make sure you talk at least 5 minutes. Simple.
