He kicks Ass!
Best English teacher at ACC, period. His lecture class is very interesting, he talks about all sorts of topics. He's pretty easy-going, yet professional about essay requirements. If you take his class seriously, you can make an A. He's a hip prof, in my class he spoke of Wu-Tang one day. I thought that was quite the comedy. Excellent professor
he is by far the best english teacher at acc. although english comp is the most boring class EVER i managed to stay awake and get an A in his class. there was never a dull moment in his lectures.

This teacher is only so-so in lecture. I wouldn't call it riveting or life-changing by any means, but if you do what you're to do, you will make an A. He is VERY SERIOUS about his deadlines. I had a horrible car crash -contacted him immediately w/proof. He dropped me and I had to appeal and go before the dean. It was fixed but very unnecessary.
Professor Moore is down to earth and seems to connect with his students well. He pushes people to write well instead of just get through the course. I plan on taking Comp II with him.
He was always entertaining. He took time to meet with me after class for discussion over the material. He also makes a lot of opportunities to discuss the material in class. Be sure to read the assignments on time!
aewsome
I have taken both Comp. I and II with Moore and he was excellent. Great professor. My advice: FOLLOW his handouts. He gives out a handout with each assignment (paper) with CLEAR guidelines. Follow them - he'll love you and you're sure to get an A or B.
I really enjoyed the distance learning course with Professor Moore. He was extremely helpful and very prompt at replying to questions or with responses to assignments. Very easy to work with and very fair.
Mr. Moore is awesome. He is very clear and direct in his teaching and makes it very easy. He definately seems more interested in you actually learning than just making it through the class. Has very helpful guides for every assignment which if you do exactly you can easily get high grades. Also if you have questions he is happy to help.
Professor Moore is extremely helpful when it comes to questions. He is fair and inspiring. As long as you put your time in and do your work, you should have no problem on getting an A. When I first took his class on line, I was worried about how responsive he was. And like his syllabus, he was great very detailed oriented. Definitely a great pr
Best english teacher I have ever had!!!
Definitely one of the best professors I've ever had! I took his Distance Learning class and learned more than I did in classroom settings. HIGHLY recommend!
I took his DL ENGL 1301 during the first summer session. His assignments were very clear and he laid out the whole semester with his syllabus. As long as you keep up with your assignments, there should be no reason not to get an A.
I had A's on every paper, and one day he rejected a paper claiming I didn't do the right essay format...when in fact he was confused and was grading a paper from an assignment we had not completed yet. DON'T RE-WRITE A PAPER to discover you had done the work correct the first time!! Grrrrr
NOT HELPFUL AT ALL.
Amazing Professor, kind of a comedian actually so the class isn't boring. And when the class isn't boring, you pay attention. And when you pay attention you do well in class.
Mr. Moore is a amazing Teacher. I must admit I have very bad grammer. But after taking his class I feel as if my grammer tripled in accuracy.
Great choice for distance learning classes. Helpful and responsive professor
THis was a distance learning class, I have taken many LIT courses so was ready to be able to do a eng class online. It was helpful to have the other classes. He is a great help to any questions you many have, gets back to you fast! Very fair teacher!
I took him for British Lit 2. He is not helpful, does not respond to email. Very unorganized and changed the syllabus four times during the semester. He looses essays and says that he will email essay guidlines out but never does, gives them to you last min in class, so that you have to write a paper and cram for a final the last week.
Awesome professor. Very responsive to emails and requests for help. First college class I've ever taken and I was very impressed. He seems to care about the students and engages them in class (he does not like hats or lateness tho) AND he is humorous. I received very prompt responses to my emails or he was available in his office.
This class is taught like a freshman seminar: classes are mostly devoted to discussing the readings in depth and students are encouraged to voice their opinions. Prof.Moore allows a good deal of freedom within the assignments and he is very responsive to questions. Prof.Moore is an excellent teacher and he is also quite funny.
Best teacher at ACC. Very useful info, taught me to write essays, he's extremely funny and interesting, fairly easy A
Great!
He's awesome!! very helpful and clear. He tells you exactly what he wants in your paper and as long as you do what he tells you your paper WILL get accepted. I could have made an A but didnt feel like doing the research paper.
Great Prof! I've had 2 classes w/ him. He is less strict in Lit 2 than in COMP 2. He teaches in a comprehensive, liberal arts way- lots of humor and referencing. He loves The Simpsons! If you're a writer, he will see that and be encouraging. If you enjoy reading, this class delves deeply into many texts. I feel enriched. Better than a book club!
DL ENGL 1301 Spring 2011. Very helpful lady. Provides supplementary comments in her edits of work. Watch out for MLA.
Awesome professor!! I'm currently taking my 3rd class with him, I took him for Comp 2 and American Lit before. He's smart, very helpful, hilarious, and makes the work very easy to understand and do. Just read the assignments and do exactly what he asks for the essays and you will get an A. I recommend him to everyone, he's the best!
Excellent teacher! There are 5 essays, each with a different literary analysis focus, a departmental exam, and an A and B essay. The five essays are fairly difficult to get accepted without revisions, but the departmental, A and B essays are easy to get accepted. He also throws in some fun, creative, twists to the essays. I'm taking him for Lit!
I received my first B ever in Lee's class. He was funny, but slightly rude. He is sort of a harsh critic.
I really liked Dr. Moore. Yes, he tells cheesy jokes but I like cheesy! I thought he was a really interesting professor. Here are some tips on how to make an "A" in his class: Show up, turn your cell phones off, LISTEN to his lectures, ask questions, give yourself plenty of time to prepare your papers and you will do well. Highly recommended.
I took professor Moore through a 12-week DL class. Pretty straightforward, but the fact that it was DL and accelerated made it tough. Professor Moore was extremely responsive, fair, and pretty clear. I received a B in the class, but wish I had another 4 weeks to get an A! I would recommend him.
Tries to be helpful but he is clear as MUD when it comes to how to fix your essays and make them better. All he says is, "tune it up" or "tighten some screws" aka something VERY VAGUE. My first B in English & only B last semester. He loves to hear himself talk, he speaks as if trying to show off his vocabulary. Feedback on tests are VAGUE.DONOTTAKE
Not sure if he uses an ACC method or his own method, but having to do extra work to get an A, when any other class requires the SAME work -- but on an A level, is ludicrous. The grading method in this class is very convoluted. Those struggling with English should be the ones doing more work, not good students turning in A-worthy papers each time!
Dropped his class. Did horrible on my papers, even when I did go and talk to him about it. Didn't really 'teach' just talked about pointless stuff. Gets off topic easily. Harsh grader. On a political paper, he started ranting about politics on some of the comments he wrote down telling me I was wrong. This isn't a government class. Avoid this prof.
Pellucid, Talented, Insightful, Kind, Caring, and Helpful are all accurate descriptions of Professor Lee Moore. I highly recommend Prof. Moore for any and all English courses. I'll be signing up for his next course the very second we're allowed to register. Can't wait until the fall!
Good Teacher can be a little vague and unhelpful sometimes but it is to force you to think about English not to be mean. Had him for both Writing I and II. fair grader lets you rewrite your first 4 papers for a higher grade. Give you an outline for what he wants on his papers. Can meet in his office to help your papers along to his standards.
Smooth-sailing through the 6 week summer term. He wants you to use a short guide to inform your structure and style of writing. The final essays to pass the class, get a B and get an A require a little more work because you have to write about a new topic if he makes you revise them.
He is an amazing teacher! He's very funny, brings life into the sometimes dull subject matter, and is extroadinarily helpful. He promotes class participation in lectures and sometimes references politics but invites people who do not share his views to refute his claims. I would definitely recommend him!
Really liked Prof Moore! Very helpful in his prompt responses to email q's. He also gave unsolicited feedback to every paper I wrote which was really encouraging. Also, he was always willing to further clarify his instructions. Highly recommend this professor!
He is not a great teacher, he says my writing is confusing and that I blab about stupid stuff, when I ask how I can fix it he continues to talk about stuff that did not answer my question. During the research paper I had to do a worksheet(the info game)he told me I did not follow directions on the work cited. I followed the sheet he handed out.
Professor Moore was very clear about expectations, and very helpful in a class that requires a lot of reading, writing and ability to interpret. Anytime I needed guidance or clarification, he was prompt, polite, and to the point. I highly recommend him!
Professor Moore made it clear from day one what was required to receive a good grade in his class. He didn't ask more than that the students did the assignments correctly and turned them in on time. One of the fairest teachers I have known.
Great experience. Be sure to do the readings because he encourages class participation and quizzes/tests on them. The class is immensely entertaining. Almost always available for office hours. Take Am Lit II with Professor Moore, he is a great professor . And he talks about quantum stuff, if you're into that kind of thing.
Good teacher. Gives you whats going to be on the tests. Goes over readings during class. As long as you read all the readings and pay attention in class you'll do good on the tests. Very good with answering your questions and an understanding teacher.
Professor moore is a good guy however he is a little to picky when it comes to writing style but he does allow you to correct the first 4 essays for a higher grade but overall I was not pleased with him.
Great guy. Extremely helpful to all of his students. He can be picky about your writing style and opinionated. 6 papers and the first 4 you can revise if need be. Not the easiest but not difficult to receive an A if you put in the work.
OUTSTANDING professor. As long as you listen and submit your work on time, he will allow you to revise your first four papers to a higher grade. Witty, funny and engaging. Definitely a great professor for English lovers such as myself. Will be looking for him for any Lit classes.
Very good class! This was my very first online class and I didn't have a problem getting an A in it. If there are any problems Mr. Moore is very helpful and lets you revise your papers for higher grades. Would definitely recommend.
Great Professor. Very open minded and easy to talk to. Gives good feedback on papers and as long as they are turned in on time he allows you to revise them to get a higher grade. Easy A.
Great professor. Allows you to revise all everything for a higher grade. Take his suggestions and do the revisions and you will get an A.
He is a good professor very helpful and understanding. I went to him to proof read my papers and the learning lab to help me edit them and got A's on all of my papers as long as you try you Can't Fail
Professor Moore was quick with responses and helpful with papers. Two things I recommend: 1. Get your papers in early to give professor time to send back for revisions. 2. Do the reading before your papers.
Very few of us are huge Literature fans lets not kid around, that said, he makes the best out. He warns you about what will be on the pop quizzes. He does everything possible to tell you exactly what he wants on the tests (which are essayshort answer format) and from the essays. Its a lot of "what do you think..." Just back up your claim and edit.
Coolest English professor. Don't procrastinate and you'll be fine. No retest and strict deadlines. Office hours are helpful. Easy A
Great Professor! Very quick to respond to essay questions and is very helpful! Just don't procrastinate on assignments and you will be fine!
One of the BEST professors I have ever had. As long as YOU put forth the work, he will be right there to help you out. He allows all papers to be rewritten for a higher grade. There really is no way you can't pass. If you do fail, you can't blame him but only your lack of effort (seriously, between the Learning Lab & him, the help is there).
Taking this class sets you up for an easy A. Although I wouldn't normally complain about an easy class, the lecture material is rather boring and more geared toward basic middleschool/highschool writing. Professor Moore is willing to help on papers, but I would have appreciated more in depth English teaching in class.
Professor Moore is great. I took DL 1301 and I have made an A on every paper. He will not give 100s the highest he gives is a 95b and I have received a 95 on all papers so far. He assigns 5 essays, and a departmental exam. Very sweet man so far. Seemed intimidating at first but I really enjoy his essay prompts. I will be taking him for 1302.
Really great professor! I took his English 1301 online class, and he was really helpful and clear on what he expects. He also responds to emails and phone calls pretty quickly and will offer additional help if you need it.
He's nice but really hard grader.
I took this class as a high school junior and I was not at all where I needed to be when it came to writing papers, but as soon as I went to him with questions and worries he helped me go from a C on my first paper to a A on my last. Once you figure out his writing style the class get so much better. Six essays including the Departmental Exam.
Professor Lee provided just what I wanted, a chance to write. In this 12 week online class, he didn't go into grammar, vocab and punctuation. He assigned readings and papers. I wish there would have been a way to communicate with classmates though, a messageboard or forum to discuss ideas.
As a sophomore in high-school, I made an A on every essay given while receiving an 10/10 on the departmental exam. This class was fun, but most importantly, it gave me an opportunity to write in different forms/styles. He is a very informative, but make sure to not attend class during the presidential election!! (lol)
If your grammar is not on point than do not take this class. There is no rubric, but instead a paper listing that papers will be graded purely off grammar. (I guess my thesis isn't important because it was not mentioned on the grading page) He gets back to people fast, but at what cost? I would have taken english in person if I only knew.
Professor Moore definitely tries his best to make the readings interesting. Read the readings, and make strong points in your tests and essays and you'll do fine. My grade would have been higher if I had turned in all assignments but that's on me, not Professor Moore. I definitely feel he graded my assignments fairly and provided good feedback.
I took Professor Lee's ENGL1301 this past summer online. It was a 5.5 week course, 5 papers due in total and thats including the final exam. He is very clear about what he wants and expects with your papers and provides lots of examples and feedback. Trust me I HATE WRITING ESSAYS && PAPERS but he made the course less painful. Choose him!

It was my first English class. Based on how bad I was in the beginning I'm surprised I pulled it off in the end. I started by getting f's and then earned a couple a's. He allowed rewrites of almost all essays. Since I knew nothing of MLA format and how to use docs before this class, I would in hindsight have not taken an online class.
super easy.
Professor Moore is smart and he knows how to write, but that being said, he is not a good teacher. I learned nothing new and he took over an hour to cover a subject that other teachers could cover in 15 minutes. It was an easy A with lots of effort, but he is still tough to please. Also very rude. Don't show up late or you will be roasted.
Prof. Moore explains what is expected and sticks to his guns. My first four papers were the easiest papers I have written in years. I can't stand writing papers. I made an A on all of them and then didn't write another paper the rest of the semester and received a C. I'll take it!
Professor Moore really doesnt teach you that much new material. Theres five papers you have to to write over the course. These determine your grade so you have to work hard on them. Hes a very picky grader so proof reading will be your best friend. Hes super helpful so if you have questions he is more than willing to help. Also dont be tardy!!
I took my comp 1 class online and did a total of 4 papers and a final at campus. he gives you a second chance to redo 2 papers in order to get a better grade. i have always been good at writing papers and since that is all this class consisted of, it was an easy A.
Lots of reading with shorts stories and will give pop Quizzes, so always read the stories. Hard grader on papers so I suggest going to the campus learning lab that your class is at, very nit picky. Participation is encouraged or he will call you out anyway and ask plenty of questions. Something what he goes over in class doesn't match the essays.
Do not take this class if you want to do well. Professor Moore is super subjective in his grading, and instead of letting you choose your research topic, he randomly assigns you a topic to write 10 pages about. Not cool.. Showing up for class is a waste of time because he doesn't cover anything useful, and just goes off on political rants.
Stay away from this Professor as he is the head of the English department, does not clearly define what he requires of students, goes on random tangents about his southern family, is inconsistent in grading (corroborated through other students), and is angered when students corroborating their work with UT English faculty. The material is standard
Only took his online class; in emails and handouts, he does sometimes come off as rude. He is very quick to respond to emails, and what you have to do in the class is very straightforward- 4 essays and an exam. But important information sent out is occasionally here, there, and everywhere. But overall, none of this would deter me from taking again.
Professor Moore is a kind man who has two sides, a good one and a bad one. If you do what is being asked of you and do it diligently, while PARTICIPATING IN CLASS DISCUSSIONS, he will take note of it. He assigns a lot of readings which is routine for a Literature class and tests that ask you to summarize it. Essays leave room for creativity.
This class was boring but professor Moore kept it interesting. I withdrew because I couldn't wake up for this class and actually stay awake. He kept the lectures bearable by relating them to current events. If English bores you, don't take this class before 10am. He's the toughest grader I've had by far. This is book and lecture heavy so BEWARE.
Lecture heavy? You might call it that, if you want to learn anything about English dont take him! He should be teaching a politics class. You learn nothing to improve your technique in writing he just wants you to already know everything. He has a way of making everyone feel like they are less of a person, so beware of talking in lecture.
He wasn't an easy grader at first but if you follow the guidelines and listen to what he doesn't like, you'll get an A. He is just very picky and subjective. Very lecture heavy with a lot of rambling. Most of the times he let us leave early because there was nothing to do... sometimes going to class was a waste of time. He gave helpful feedback.
I took him for this class in Fall 2017. I loved his sense of humor, although sometimes his lectures could drag on a bit. Make sure to do the readings as he does have pop quizzes. Overall, he is a pretty good professor and I recommend taking Comp 2 with him.
I wouldn't retake him, plain and simple. Super tough grader
If you want to learn how to be a better writer better drop now. He provides two syllabuses which he decides,in his mind, he would like to use that day. I go to the learning lab and the two other professors said if they did what he did they would be jobless, thanks acc for allowing the old dudes to do whatever they want. Dropping class now!
Professor Moore was great. Easy grader and very accessible. The only aspect of his class that I would have preferred was a bit more constructive feedback.
Professor Moore is a pretty tough grader. He just wants you to try your best and to be better than when you started. He is very accessible outside of class. He goes over the material and tries his best to makes sure everyone understands the criteria. He allows you to make up low grades, gives good feedback and helpful notes.
I really liked Professor Moore, he gave great feedback and genuinely wanted you to do well and improve. I didn't find him to be a tough grader, I thought he was fair and consistent. He doesn't waste his student's time. He gives big windows to complete the essays and doesn't ask for too much. Great professor!
I enjoyed taking his class and was intrigued by the short stories he picked to discuss in class. Gives great feedback on your essays and even provides additional help (purdue owl links) for a better understanding of any mistakes you make in your writing.
Super sweet guy, very understanding and genuine. Great professor overall.
Professor Moore has been great. I took him for 1301 and am taking him for 1302. He is a fair grader and gives clear criteria. You can submit drafts to him ahead of time and he will give you feedback that will get you an A if applied. He moves due dates back and has make ups available. Great class but you have to love reading, digesting & writing.
Was a wonderful professor. I messed up and got a C on my first essay and reached out for help. The professor gave me great feedback on how to improve my paper and tips on composition. After that first C, the rest of my essays were scored as As due to his advice. Grading criteria is also very clear.
I REALLY ENJOYED THE CLASS HOWEVER I WISHED I KNEW WHAT HE LOOKED LIKE BECAUSE DURING THE LAST FEW WEEKS OF SCHOOL I FOUND OUT THAT HE HAD PASSED AWAR REST IN PEACE
