Lee is a very caring and understanding person. She will not make you fell stupid and will work with you if you do not catch on. Step training is funner then aerobics. Perfer her to all others.
She's a great teacher and knows how ot motivate her class. Make sure you take at least one her pe classes.

cool chick, very spunky and cute. Just make sure you go to class becaue she'll get pissed if you don't. And her little kiss ups will take attendence and mark you absent even if you were there. But over all, fun class, cool teacher, and she'll really make you work.
All I can say is that Lee Pate is the best. She's great in motivating everyone to move their ass and she's the sweetest lady ever.....gotta love her.
Very productive workout class, she will put you in shape. Very hot. Works on abs like crazy, makes you do push-ups like crazy, if you want to get back in shape or tone up, this is the class to take and she is the professor to take it with. Took the class 3 times with her.
Lee Pate is the best! She is super funny, motivates her students to work out. You will improve from the beginning until the end of the semester. With pate, you actually see results. You feel stronger, more toned and you get a real workout. Although it is a tough workout, everyone motivates each other and overall a great HUP class to take.
She is so cool and wondeful. She makes you work out and have fun at the same time. She loves what she does and that makes the difference between her and other teachers. You can get in shape if you go to class and do what she does.
Awesome! She loves to help people out and help them get in shape. She treats students like actual people instead of just lowly students! She is always smiling and laughing, which is contagious to her students! Highly recommended.

Lee was pretty hot, shes pregnant and having her baby, so she left the last week of class. she always talks about her defined ABS. you get an A for showing her that you are working out, and not just sitting at the machines and talking to other classmates. She gives a lot of tests but they are common sense. Lee should be sexy just in time for Fall05
Lee is so awesome! Her classes are the only classes I look foward to during the weeks! Her midterms are pretty basic/common sense. She's very nice and very entertaining. She makes you WANT to work out and have a good time. I've taken her classes 3 semesters already and I'm waiting for her to come back so that i can continue!
Lee's a great teacher! She has a lot of energy and is very sweet. She's VERY cute and is nice and fun to talk to. There were also a few cute girls in the class (but she says there usually aren't many girls)! She was pregnant and it was groovy seeing her grow through the semester! She should be back for fall. Be sure to take her class! It'll be fun!

lee's my favorite KIN instructor at state, taken aerobics, toning, weight training (no step bad knees)just fun all around. not monotonous and she actually does the work out doesnt just watch you die.
if ur trying to lose weight take some classwes with her. she is hella cool adn she works you. u'll feel so good after her workouts. shes very funny and really cool. tests are easy too!
Show up to class and participate and you will get an "A". She will make you work hard in a nice way and you will see and notice results at the end of the semester. She is the nicest and friendliest teacher ever. You won't be disappointed.
Just show up and you're guarunteed at least a B+. Teaches you all sorts of variations on old workouts. Her abwork is a little crazy for those that don't workout a lot, but you'll get used to it.
STEP TRAINING AT ITS BEST! Shes very active and friendly! Very good and knows the exercise. SHE WILL WORK YOUR BUTT OFF, but makes you feel good and want to stay fit! Test are too easy and mostly common sense, but do read the book!
She is a ****!! If you're sick don't try to even talk to her, she doesn't care. She gives you two whole weeks to not come to class and it won't affect your grade but if you miss more than that and you were sick, forget it! I had bronchitis and my grade went down, she didn't care and didn't excuse it. She is a great aerobics teacher but be careful
OMG! Pate is a wonderful teacher. Just show up to class n u'll should do fine. The book isnt necessary if u have background in weight lifting/training. If you want results,u need to stick with it..it's all about motivation!

Very easy class and really nice. As long as you go to class [can have up to 2 unexcused absences] and study what she tells you to, you'll get an A/B.
This professor really works you out. Especially body sculpting it's not about fun and games it’s about kicking your butt. This professor really cares about you. You have to show up to class and work hard. Don’t worry as you keep working out the class will get easier. For a couple of weeks you won't be able to sit down but it's worth it.
this is the best teacher that I have ever had for a work out class and I recomend her to everyone that I talk to. I usually hate working out but she makes it so much fun! She is by far the best teacher that I have ever had!

Lee will put you through some of the worst physical pain you will ever feel, and it is worth every second of it. She is very enthusiastic and fun, and will get you in awesome shape. The only thing I didn't care for was the Zamba* lessons, but that is only because I couldn't shake my butt. Overall Lee's bodysculting class is a must-take class.
Very friendly & always demonstrates new exercises. Walks around class to help students. Daily worksheets provide workout to be done. Only downside was that she cancelled class frequently. Very short, easy T/F weekly quizzes.
She is extreamly motivating.
Body sculpting is not for the lazy. If you are looking to build strength or looking to improve it is a great class but will kick your booty. She does not let you sit back and do nothing. It almost felt like a boot camp, but I became alot stronger in just four months and it motivated me to keep it up. It will hurt though! Easy final.
Lee is the nicest teacher ever. She will work you out, so don't be a wuss. Take her, trust me.

I had Lee for Body sculpting. SHE is AMAZING!! Lee is AWESOME. SO nice, sweet, happy all the time! Very upbeat and energetic! The class IS tough! Its a real workout! Its great tho! You see results by the end of the sem! I'd highly recommend it! But def be ready to work and SWEAT A LOT! No work! Final is a 1 page thing! SHES the best!!!!!!!
She is amazing!!! I have taken her body sculpting class two semesters in a row. I dropped down a jean size and was only 19% body fat which is great since i'm 5'9 and drink beer every weekend. I definitely recommend her for anyone who wants to work out and actually see their results within weeks!
Had her for body sculpting. I have never worked out that hard in my life! She is amazing! She makes me want to keep working out on days that we don't have the class. She is a great teacher! Super energetic and fun and you actually feel the burn with this class.
Lee is an AMAZiNG professor. i had her this semester for aerobics. she really knows what she`s doing/talking about when it comes to fitness. we focused a lot on Zumba dances, although it was new to me, it was an experience i will never forget. she makes me look forward to the class. she allows you to miss 2 days out of the sem just cuz life happens
I had her for Body Sculpting... Lee really gets you into shape! It's hard work, lots and lots of hard work, but you definitely notice a change in your body! She pushes you hard but she knows you can do it. And we listen to a lot of fun music. She's super motivating and funny! Prepare to work out, definitely a tough class but totally worth it!
Looking for EASY classes? Jog on. Body Sculpting = You'll definitely see a change in your body. You will hurt, sweat, burn, & you WILL have trouble sitting for the most part of the semester. Zumba is a fun dance class. Lots of butt shaking! GUYS, IT CAN BE ADAPTED just keep moving & you're good! Lee Pate = hands down the best teacher ive ever had!!
I love Lee Pate! This was my favorite class I have ever taken at SJSU and I will miss it next semester. I loved it so much I am thinking of just popping in whenever my schedule is free for the semesters to come. I don't think anyone would regret taking this class unless your a lazy a**.

Class was an easy but I still used my time wisely by working out and now i love it. textbook is not mandatory for the quizzes are true/false and are used for attendance, as well as workout worksheets. I did learn much from this class about proper etiquette in actually doing the exercise and treating fellow exercisers. would recommend her to anyone
Lee is amazing! I took her for body sculpting for my last semester (still needed a PE class) and I am SO glad I did! I got into great shape & saw a definite change in my body. Lee is fun, encouraging, motivating and an incredibly nice person. The workouts are hard but still fun, and SO worth it! Take this class, you will have so much fun!
SHE IS THE BEST!!! I Took her body sculpting class 8 years ago and have missed it ever since! I wish I could go back to SJSU just to take her class. Yes! She is that amazing! My body never looked so good as it did when I was taking her class. She is a very motivating and awesome teacher! Lover her!

LOVED THIS CLASS! This course is titled Aerobics but it's actually Zumba, and I loved it so much! She really whipped me into shape. She moves and dances so well, and she's got so much energy! Text is only needed for a few take home assignments. Other than that, TAKE THIS CLASS!
aerobics is really zumba and i've never seen anyone move like her! amazing teacher and motivator, knows how to get the class involved. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Intense workouts, but they make you feel AMAZING after! I loved this class, Lee was so motivating! It's really hard at first, but once you get through the semester it gets better and you'll see results real soon. :)
This class was completely amazing. It pushes your limits and you build so much strength, endurance, and just about anything else you can think of. Shes encouraging and is willing to help you out if you have difficulties with keeping up. Definitely should take her for Body Sculpting. Shes hot and helps with the working !!
Aerobics class is really a zumba class and it is super fun! Easy routines that'll always have you moving and sweating! Wish I could take it again!
Obsessed with her class! I have taken two of her classes now and I wish I could take more. She is so energetic and so fun and you're actually getting a real workout and seeing a difference no matter what class you're taking. TAKE HER!
Very intense but rewarding and fun class, definitely the toughest in terms of physicality but you build up alot. fun workouts, great attitude, worth every second, and she will push you over your limits sometimes. don't compare to others, just focus on your own improvement and you will see a difference pre and post test
Pate is awesome! She doesn't look old (certainly doesn't dance like it) and she has so much energy that it really pumps you up! I wasn't all that enthusiastic to dance, but she really made it fun! Super easy class and awesome professor
She's hilarious, fun, and will work you out. She's been teaching zumba and other fitness classes for many years. Be prepared to dance in Kin 32, she models the routines in the front so you can follow along. A textbook is required for the midterm and final.
Such an awesome teacher. She's really great, funny, and awesome. A highly recommended class. She allows 2 absences and there are only 2 basic multiple choice tests. Would recommend maybe sharing the textbook among 2 or 3 people. It's not really necessary! You should take her, it's a good time!
The only thing I don't like is that you don't have access to your grade in the class. but overall fun class.
Lee Pate is probably my favorite professor at SJSU! Not only is she super energetic, but she makes this class really fun and enjoyable. This class is very similar to Zumba or U-Jam, so if you enjoy those types of dance workouts, you'll enjoy this class!
She is genuinely caring! You can miss two days of class without penalty. Her workouts are intense. Quizzes everyday. 1 Midterm, 1 Final. Super easy, nice and fun! We also had 2 outside assignments, but you finish those in less than 10 minutes. TAKE HER!! You won't regret it!! I feel like her favorite exercises involved squats and leg days LOL.
As someone who hates working out, I hated the idea of having to take a kin class, but I loved every minute of Lee's class! She's so much fun, upbeat, and positive. She never criticized or was breathing down your neck or made me feel self-conscious. She explained everything step by step. I took both KIN 31 & 32 with her. Amazing professor.
she is super funny and sweet. She knows how to dance for sure and gives a great workout class. I would take her again. She is not pushy and makes sure everyone is having fun. She makes working out fun.
Amazing prof. Always laughing and full of life. Her workouts are intense and seriously put you into shape so the class is SO worth it. Does' pressure you and respects that some students are shy about dancing so you never feel uncomfortable in class. Exams are a bit much though. They aren't hard but just cover a lot of material for a 1 unit class.

Best aerobics instructor ever. Would take again. Very enthusiastic and funny. Makes doing aerobics seem less like exercise. Makes you do easy, simple 5 question quizzes. In person midterm, online final. Amazing person.
TAKE HER. Even if you aren't overly athletic, Lee goes out of her way to make every student feel comfortable. The only outside assignments are quizzes (and you get two chances). Very easy A and genuinely a good time
Lee is awesome. She is super caring and really makes everyone feel like they can do all things! This Aerobics class was so much fun and not super hard! It felt really good waking up in the morning and starting my day with this class. All you have to do is show up and do your best!
TAKE this class if you are ready to workout and get in condition. DO NOT take if intense workouts are not for you. However, I definitely recommend everyone to take Lee's class and challenge yourself. Participation is a requirement, but everyone is given 2 excused absences. Easy online quizzes with 2 attempts for each. Online midterms and finals.
Lee really cares about her students and really seems to enjoy teaching. The aerobics class was super easy, all that was needed was effort and being there. Quizzes and tests online. Just show up and youll pass.

Class structure: she gave us an attendance card with a workout listed, and we were allowed to go at our own pace on what we wanted to do. Stretches 10 minutes before class ends each class. Quizzes are on Canvas, and questions are quotes directly from the textbook. She was absent frequently, but when she did show up she was always happy and upbeat.
Professor Pate is really chill. Good instructions and you could bs the workouts if you want. Weekly quizzes that had five questions. Pate was always happy to be in class. I didn't buy a textbook because answers are mostly online or common sense. Had her for quarantine so our grades became C/NC. Cool teacher.
Professor Pate is a very good professor. This class was about showing up to the classroom once a week to work out, doing one cardio assignment on your own outside of class, and then taking one quiz by the end of the week. Its very enjoyable and Professor Pate makes the class really fun and inspirational - highly recommend!
Super relaxed and easy-going instructor. It was a 2 days/week class but you only had to come in one day a week. Weekly workout check-ins/reflections. Would definitely take again.
Very chill instructor. Weight training one day in class, cardio can be done at home. A few quizzes based on a textbook but they're fairly easy even without it. Great for beginners!
Beginning weight training with her class was very fun and simple. They are weekly open book quizzes on canvas that are honestly just common sense. She is also very nice and engaging with the class! You just do a set of exercises on a sheet of paper and turn it in at the end of class. Just try not to miss too much classes!
each week has two class sessions, but you only need to attend ONE. Classes involve light to moderate workouts, never too intense. Weekly quizzes cover textbook material, but you can take pictures of the pages after class. A weekly light/medium cardio hw to complete on your own time. Chill prof. Always excited and have a lot of energy to help students do the exercises correctly. Show up and do the required exercises and mark the exercises u completed. Technically, u can bs it if u want but do as much as u can. Ask the prof if u wanna do other exercises. You have weekly online quizzes that consists of 5 T/F questions which r ez.
Easy class- show up once a week and do an in class workout. Lee is so funny and kind. I would take this class again even for no credit.
Super easy course. Class is doing a bunch of asynchronous workouts that are short. All you have to do is turn in a short write-up every week and complete a quiz by Wednesday.
