Professor Moore was a very hard to contact outside of class. The assignments did not have very clear instructions and her lectures were very hard to comprehend. She is very educated about the subject, but overall was not the best at explaining the lessons.
- Very into presentations - very funny - very straightforward - homework every week
Given our circumstances with covid, she made the transition naturally and understood what we all were going through. If you have to take any classes she is teaching, don't be scared.
Don't turn anything in late
She has this way of speaking that makes you engage, something like really energetic
she was great
I loved having this online class with this professor. The instructions were very clear for each assignment. And the syllabus was correct and helpful throughout the course. One thing that I thought was helpful was the course calendar and she responds to inbox emails on time. We had a few zooms, and a total of four big speeches. Super chill professor
I am taking this professor again next semester.
she's great, I love that she's very willing to help out and she's very clear with all her assignments.
Professor Moore is a relatively chill and easier than the usual. She cares about her students and if you do what is asked you will have no difficulty passing. She genuinely cares about her students and checks in regularly to help keep you on track.
everything is good with the course, you just have to get the assignments turned in and do the work and you will be fine.
As long as you get your coursework in you will pass the class
This class consisted of a lot of homework but very informative. You get what you put in and most of the time, effort counts. Ensure that you read all assignments thoroughly to complete all tasks asked of us.
This professor is very thorough and clear. She answers any questions that students may have and makes sure to leave no knots untied. Her teaching style allows for students to truly understand the content and apply it to the rest of the course. The course will move at a fast pace so be prepared for lots of assignments.
A very well respected professor and very knowledgable on what she teaches. She provides very useful and interactive activities and workload that will contribute to your success in this class and subject. A very professional and thorough grader, so make sure you are going through her grading rubrics. Lots of effort and you'll pass this class easy!
Get ready to have your week filled with multiple assignments from this one class. This class was a lot more work than I thought it would be.
Work is made up by tests and discussion boards and a big part of your grade is the chapter presentations. It was an online class so teacher/student contact was limited unless necessary.
Gave lectures but would read directly off slides so when she asked if we had questions we would not know what to ask. very tough grader, you have to do her work the exact way she wants it or she removes points. Lots of work has long essays and speeches. The class made me want to communicate less rather than improve it.
Powerpoint presentations were straightforward and clear, not information heavy. There are a few heavy papers.
Dr Lee Porscha Moore was a very difficult class If you feel like you'll ever need to turn in late assignments this is not the class for you If you do not like to use other websites to complete work that is not on Canvas this is not the class for you Lectures aren't interactive so if you need engagement this is not the course for you
As long as you do her assignments you are good.
The class is difficult but if you get well organize and put a lot of effort on it you'll be able to get an A on it. The professor is very clear and serious about what she wants so if you do it the way she asks for you'll be good on her class.
Professor Moore is a very interactive teacher and loves participation. She gives great feedback and truly wants you to succeed in her class. Every week we had a group assignment due, so if you are not a fan of group work then this may be a struggle for you. Overall, she is a great professor and would strongly recommend getting her if you can.
Good professor & also very knowledgable on the material. Tough grader but definitely gives good feedback that'll help improve social skills in the future.
I think Dr. Lee Porsha can assign a lot of assignments, however, she does mean well. In my experience with her, she has helped me improve whether that was in class or outside of class such as staying after-class through via zoom. Although this class was online it was challenging, I learned how to manage it with her and she helped me a lot as
Professor Moore is outstanding professor. There is few assignments and if you are up to date its a easy A. Her grading is great. Very helpful, responsive, communicative and understanding. You learn many things in this class and can reach her any time. She is there to help you. Will def. take her class.
Overall, learned a lot in this course and helped me gain public speaking hand communication skills. However, there are a lot of assigned readings, homework, group work, quizzes, and speeches. The class is overall not that difficult, its just the amount of work thats a little tough. Make sure to follow instructions and turn everything on time.
A lot of work and reading.
Professor Moore is an amazing educator who thrives on students learning their craft. Be ready to be inspired.
The class can be enjoyable, but the grading is a little harsh.
I was happy with the experience that I have received knowing that I was able to receive the same feeling and experience during the class as if it was in person.
The amount of effort you put in is what you'll get out of it and it'll reflect your grade too.
I took this course online synch overall great class many content to covered but the assignments arent difficult just involves simple critical thinking
Lots of work.
Hard grader, but an excellent teacher so you're never unprepared for the assignments. Very approachable after class or during office hours and easy going and knowledgeable when asking questions.
Throughout the course, you'll notice how great of a professor she is because she is very thorough with her grading showing she's expecting your best work. She is available to talk to outside of class with a simple message on Canvas. Make sure you read her feedback on everything because it can teach you what to improve on & continue doing well.
Try not to miss any classes or else this class will be difficult.
At times it was hard to get in connect with this professor. This was an Asynchronous class which was difficult. I would have rather have at least one or two classes a week to understand the material better. Many times I had to use outside resources to get a better understanding on certain topics. She assigned a lot of work for just one week.
Not accesible out of class, takes too long to respond emails and sometimes doesn´t respond. Tough grader, with very specific instructions for the assignments, easy to lose points.
Professor Moore, Is an great teacher and explains all assignments very well
Due to this class being online, I saw the professor's teaching style very well because although we didn't see her in person, she still gave us lots of feedback to further along our knowledge as well as to improve our work. Her instructions are very clear as to what she would like to receive from us (students).
Professor Moore's Psychology of Emotion course wasn't too difficult. The assignments are pretty easy just a lot of work.
Professor was great. It was just hard to keep up with a heavy load of assignments (3 assignments each week but consisted of a lot of video watching and reading) with a full schedule. However, the class is straightforward.
The class was very interesting to take and enjoyed all the topic but the workload would be a lot sometimes
I took Dr. Porscha's Social Psychology online class and it was asynchronous. Though there were multiple assignments due in a week which consisted of watching videos/discussions, Top Hat Modules (online textbook & workbook), and reading from a book/discussions, I was able to manage it all while taking five other heavy loaded classes.
I took Dr. Porscha's Psychology of Emotion course and it was a term class. The course was not very organized but I was still able to keep up with the coursework and complete it on time. If you have good time management and are organized, this course is for you. It was almost not very easy to get in contact with the professor.
Just follow her instructions and attend class, you wont regret.
Professor has good overall lectures they are very interactive but she can be unclear with some the directions for assignments so do not be shy to ask for clarification. She is more than happy to clarify any quesstions.
Be prepared for Work load and stay on top of assignments!
She chooses books that you are able to relate to and that will make you learn more about something that you thought you knew.
This professor did well in lecturing and making assignments that helped us understand the textbook. The only think I didn't like about this class was that deadlines were very difficult to understand and follow. But otherwise then that, I learned a lot.
This professor's assignments and readings helped me learn a lot, I especially liked the books assigned to us because they were different from your typical boring textbooks as well. The teacher is very responsive but I felt like the Top Hat assignments plus the Canvas assignments and large amounts of reading could be a bit too much. (PSYC SOCI 140)
I really appreciated working with this professor. She was willing to work with me and was extremely understanding.
This class was amazing, it was interesting and informative. It's a lot of work, a lot of reading, writing and some group projects and Top Hat work.
The course I took however was completely asynchronous which made it very difficult to communicate with her, doing so taking an extended period of time. She left us plenty of homework, most of it discussion posts that no student in the class liked and barely learned anything from. They are not a great way to teach. She is tough but fair. No latework
Be ready to read, and stay on top of your work.
If you do all your assignments you are guaranteed a passing grade.
The Professor is straight forward. Any individual chapter work will be due mid week and any group work will be due at the end of the week which makes things easy to manage only if you fix your schedule.
A lot of reading and discussions
Professor Moore sets guidelines at the beginning of the class term which is helpful because you know what to expect from the get-go. She does assign a lot of work but as long as you get them done and keep up with speeches and when they are due you can do well in her class.
Dr. Lee Porsha Moore is a good Professor. She is vert well equipped with teaching the COMM courses. She is very open to talking about the work and answering questions. She gives great feedback and wants students to do the best they can. The only issue I found with this professor is she grades strict on the speeches. Overall she is a great.
Professor Moore is a great teacher because she explains anything you are confused about and her voice is projected to make sure you stay interested the whole class. She gives you everything you need to pass the class and the right amount of time for homework.
Dr. Porsha Moore is an amazing instructor, by far the most best one I had since I been attending Holy Names. Yes she grades hard, but I feel like everything she does is for a purpose. I stay engaged during lectures and learned a lot over the months taking this course. Looking forward to possibly working again. Thank u for everything.
I love this professor she was very straightforward for what she wanted from her students. I enjoyed the communication journey with this class. The speeches were amazing topic if you choose them and Presenting was my only challenge but if you love speaking their should be no problem
Dr. Porsha Moore is a very good educator in my opinion. She was easy to contact with help when it was needed and she was very easy to talk to in the sense of her being understanding as well. She made her course very clear to understand and access all the material. Also through her course I was able to improve my speaking skills.
Profesor Lee is a very fair person, her grading systems good, her lectures are always entertaining
Overall, the class was very straightforward along with the teacher and I was able to learn a lot about relationships and how communication is very important to build on relationships. Dr. Moore is very understanding when it comes to group work and participation.
Dr. Porsha was a great professor, she was really nice! Her assignments/ lectures were straight forward and easy to comprehend. She is also very understanding if you communicate concerns to her ahead of time.
Prof Moore was great for COMM. She is strict with grading, but always provides meaningful feedback for you to progress on future assignments. From day 1 she states her expectations & standards, making her class reasonably straightforward. She responds to messages, is very understanding as long as you communicate & has an organized class structure.
Dr. Porsha has been very straightforward from the start. She gave about 4-5 assignments per week that would align with the lectures. She is a great communicator as she responds to emails quickly and is accessible to all. Though she may seem rigorous with grades, she always offers helpful criticism so that you can improve on subsequent tasks.
Dr. Porscha is very professional and knowledgeable in the field of communication. She communicates clear instructions, gives prompt feedback, and lots of assignments every week to reinforce the concepts. From day 1. she set up clear expectations. She is very understanding and accommodating of students' challenges when communicated on time.
I had Dr. Porsha for a hybrid semester. For in-person classes she would come prepared to lecture for the class, and would give us time to do activities with peers to help prepare for the upcoming speech we had. She does post a lot of assignments for us to complete during the days we do not meet in-person, and group work is crucial.
Grades very hardly, and gives a lot of speech assignments
Dr. Porscha is really cool and I liked her teaching style. She's straight to the point and doesn't waste anytime. There's definitely no slacking in this class and she will realistically grade your speeches but overall I learned a lot from this class and I would take it again.
If you attend class it will be easy for you
Attend her lectures! Be prepared for a good amount of homework- it is not overwhelming but this class is not a walk in the park either. She is a good communicator and will assist you if you need help. I would take this class again.
She gave amazing feedback on assignments and was very understanding. Overall a good professor who pushed us to do our best.
This Professor is great and I would definitely take her class again. Even though there was a lot of homework I learned a lot in the class and I loved the teaching style of this Professor.
What I want other students to know is that you're going to get assigned a lot of work. So make sure that your on top of everything but also put your maximum effort in every assignment you do. If you do this you'll be just fine.
Lee Porsha Moore was actually a very good teacher. Though she was kind of intimidating at first, she just knows her way of teaching which I respect. She does give a lot of group work and the homework is mainly group work. Overall, her teaching techniques are very straight forward and if you do the work, you should be fine.
Professor Moore was super chill. The assignments were very detailed and packed full of questions and discussion boards so make sure you do the readings. Class content was interesting which made the hw kinda more interesting.
based on presentations, and lots of breakout rooms
Great Professor! Based on the lecture provided in class. You will read the textbook and lots of assignments are based on the readings, so read!!
Great prof! Do your readings
She is very knowledgeable in what she teaches. Be ready to read, discussions with the class, and presentations. She is very heavy on relying on the textbook, so make sure you keep up with the readings on time or you'll be behind. Very fair grader,

Good professor! She does do a lot of breakout rooms and a lot of online discussions and assignments. I enjoyed how she also brought in professionals to get a real life perspective of the career. Overall, her course is very straight forward and if you do the work you should be okay.
Professor was knowledgable about the course. This class was accelerated so the work load was a lot. I did enjoy learning about the material however assignment deadlines were not consistent so it was a little confusing when they would be closed.
I really enjoyed this course, it was fast paced but the work was manageable as long as you stayed up to do date with you reading. The assignment were not boring and really helped you get a further understanding of each therapy style.
I really enjoyed being in Professor Moores class! Each class carried a similar structure starting with reviewing chapters we were assigned to read, eventually transitioning into group conversations that stimulated very informative class discussions and lecture to follow. It was a class I looked forward to every week, which I appreciated a lot.
Professor Lee Porsha Moore was a good professor overall. We did have a lot of reading assignments and work but it was all worth it based on my major. I would take her again as she was knowledgeable on the topics based on therapy and things of that nature. I would recommend not taking it online unless you are very on top of your work.
Did not grade anything until the very end, lectures were alright, good amount of breakout rooms, had other people come in to talk about what they did, not my type of class but it was do able.
Was a manageable class, kind of hard to connect with her and the class, at times unclear instructions, good amount of assignment, just have to stay on top of things cause she doesnt like late assignemts.
Lectures were informative. Online class had a lot of breakout rooms. Because the class was accelerated there was many assignments due each week. All the work is manageable.
Good teacher I'm just bad with due dates. Grading criteria is very clear and professor will answer every and any question, as long as the student is willing to ask.
- Homework is not hard just have to make sure to read and watch video's - Test and quizzes are constantly - Participation and Attendance is very important to keep up with course -Not a class you want to fall behind because it will be detrimental to grade
Great professor really liked her class. My grade was just based on my performance. Test are chapter based. Final and midterm are self explanatory.
Professor Porsha was fantastic! She was kind, her lectures were engaging, and the assignments pushed me to practice and collaborate with my peers. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve their speaking skills and gain confidence in public speaking.
She is very unorganized and always late on grading.
She was unorganized
Dr Porsha is a very chill entertaining teachers. The time in class we do spend doing lectures are pretty entertaining and she is a fun teacher. She also gives good feedback and i improved a lot during her class. However be prepared for a lot of reading in top hat
I am taking speech communication for summer and it is very fast, missing a class will leave you behind. The entirety of the course was very informative despite the shortness. The speeches I gave drastically improved over time as she gave very good feedback and talked to the class as a whole for improvements. She also offers great extra credit.
Professor Moore's class was manageable with clear grading criteria. The workload was doable if you stay on top of things. unstuck ai was super helpful for preparing for the tests and quizzes.
Dr. Lee Porsha Moore is a great professor, her communication class is honestly not as hard as I thought it was going to be , when I 1st saw the Top-hat textbook I freaked about how there was so much but honestly the textbook was easy just time consuming and the midterm and final are easy to with them being multiple choice making things easy.
I think the professor made each assignment very clear and was available to answer any questions if you reach out to her. The discussions and TopHat assignments are fun. However I would say not to miss any assignments because it is easy to fall behind in this class. Overrall, I would take again.
Dr. Lee Porsha Moore is a great professor! Yes the class can be challenging but she truly does help you become a better speaker. You may regret taking this class at first but once it is finally over, you will be truly happy you did because it helped you a lot. As long as you do your work and pay attention, you will be fine!
