Lee is a teacher that still loves what he does. He makes the classes fun and interesting. His work book makes it easy to pass his class if you do the work. The only reason someone doesn't pass or gets a D is because they didn't come to class much or they didn't do the work book. Great teacher...

Great teacher with an eagerness to make your learning experience fun. He is ALWAYS prepared and understands that college students have it rough. This teacher is great! He has everything laid out from start to finish. The required packet has all the notes that you fill out together as well as the test questions in advance. You better read the textbook though because that's where the answers are! His enthusiasm is infectious, and frankly, I don't how it is possible to fail this class.

This man is one of the reasons I am now pursuing a BA in psychology at UC Berkeley. The 350 character limit does not do justice to his brilliance. He is passionate about his subject (was a therapist prior to teaching - be ready for some interesting stories), knowledgeable in the field, and very approachable 1-1 discussions. Take him if you can.

His lectures were entertaining, and his background as a clinician makes for interesting stories. Go to class. It'll pay off, and you'll never be bored.

He is very helpful if you have any questions. Attendance is mandatory and being on time is a must. I don't recall there being much hw, just the tests. Take his class!

Absolutely amazing professor. Impeccably organized, fascinated lectures, interesting material. I hated missing class, not because of getting docked, but because I didn't want to miss a single minute of his lectures. This class is also an easy A too, if that's what you're goin for, but that's not by any means the only reason you have to take him.

Rode is a great teacher. He made the class very interesting with his own examples and the video cases. I enjoyed going to his classes very much. My only complaint would be that the questions on the practice tests are so vague that they could me a number of answers. You're not quite sure what he's actually asking, which made it hard on the real test

Best teacher, he is the reason I became a psychology major. This class is very interesting. His lectures last the whole class but it is totally worth it. Although you can fail it is highly unlikely. Awesome teacher. We got to watch a bit of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in class. You do have to do your reading to succeed on tests though. One of my favorite teachers at DVC, and the best psychology teacher at DVC in my opinion.

The kind of professor that makes you want to major in psych. Class is very structured and there's many opportunities for ec and test grade substitutions. if you don't get at least a B in the class it's because you literally never went to class or read anything. Your grade is the average of 4 tests, which he gives you the questions before hand.

I think Dr. Rode is amazing. People who are complaining about tests, are probably those who don't actually read the book. He takes a difficult class and tries to make it interesting in his own way. He gives you all the question stems for the test, and is very clear about his expectations and the difficulty of the class.

Took abnormal psych out of personal interest and Lee's class has not been disappointing. Getting straight A's on exams are not difficult if you show up to class and do the reading for the questions he hands out beforehand. The lectures are interesting and often humourous with the added personal anecdotes. Super fun!

He spoon feeds students the information they need to pass the course with an A. The research paper is difficult only in that you have to actually think about what to put in the introduction and discussion sections. He is kind, but could use some more interactive ways to teach

Class consists mostly of lecture. It can be a bit boring, I fell asleep once or twice during lecture. Gives all test questions to you ahead of the test, and for the first one or two test he might even let you use your notes. Tests are the only determining factor for grades, no papers.

He provides you with all of the test question stem ahead of time, and he drops the lowest score in the first 3 tests, so the tests are extremely easy. But the class itself is very boring and dry, and you had to go because he checks attendance. The 10 page research paper was pretty easy, except the intro can be very time consuming, so start early.

By far the most helpful Professor I have had thus far at Diablo Valley. You can tell he loves his job and his optimism is contagious in a really good way. Very lenient and is probably actually TOO fair. Tells you literally every test question before you take the test. If you're looking for a Psych Professor look no farther.

Mr. Rode is an amazing and funny teacher with a wealth of both knowledge and stories to tell. The class is mostly lectures broken up with group discussions and videos. Your grade is decided by five tests (sometimes 6 if you take the optional comprehension) one of which you may drop. The questions for said tests are all given to you in the wrkbook.

of all my classes this semester, I think I'm most confident here. Yes, it is good to have the textbook, but I would never advocate finding it online. And you do need to buy a workbook, but it's a part of the class structure. You need it for the (quite engaging) lectures, and there are all sorts of extra materials. Class policies are crystal clear.

I have to say after last semester taking Rode's class was such a relief! From day one he was happy and enthusiastic. He cares about his subject and students! There are tests, but he gives the test strand questions BEFORE hand. If you read, and put forth the effort you will do great! MUST expect to read your textbook! No papers, score!

Dr. Rode's class was awesome! He has so much experience from the field and brings that to the classroom. If you can get his class, TAKE IT. Five chapter tests (only four go towards your grade, he drops the worst of the five) and even a cumulative test at the end to replace another chapter test. Great professor, lectures are long but interesting. Assigns no homework or essays, 5 tests but gives study guides with the exact questions in order and the first study guide can be used on the first test. Lowest test score can be dropped and gives extra points. If you study and show up to class it's very hard to fail.

I loved taking Dr. Rode's class. From day 1, he made it clear what you would need to do to pass his class. Plenty of extra credit opportunities, enough to get about half a letter grade, which can make all the difference! All test questions given in advance, too! However, be sure to show up!

Lee was awesome! I ended up going on to work with people with severe psych issues after the class and was able to take A LOT of what I learned from the class into my experience there, especially what we learned in the schizophrenia ch. Tests required a lot of prep, but it was always possible to get the grade you wanted if you study accordingly.

I feel like he was a very organized professor. As long as you go over the study guide/workbook he gives you, you will do well on the exams. You may miss 5 classes, but I recommend not to miss a class since he goes over the workbook material which will be on the exams.

Granted, he does give test questions ahead of time, he doesn't finish the lecture until the class before the test, so about half of the questions can't be answered until after the class before the test. Rode was a great teacher! He made Abnormal Psych really interesting and shared stories from his days as a therapist to help the students have better understanding of the material. The tests aren't bad, but you have to do the questions in the back of the book to get an A. If he was teaching more psych classes I needed I would take him again!

I have had this professor for multiple psych courses, and he is by far one of my favorite professors so far. Most amazing teacher Ive ever had! He is helpful and funny and a little crazy! He gives out a packet for the entire semesters worth of notes. Show up and study and youll pass with flying colors!

I took both social and abnormal psych with Prof. Rode, both great classes taught by a true class act professional dedicated to your academic success. Content is interesting and he provides all the tools needed for your success in class. Wish i could take another class with him but I'm off to the UC system now (thanks to HIM)

He is an amazing professor! He will give you all the necessary tools to pass you. its IMPOSSIBLE to fail this class. Hes also such a nice professor and would bring us donuts. He cares a lot about doing a good job. Take him if you can:)

Lee was such an amazing, hilarious professor. He kept most lectures engaging and RESPEKS WOMEN. Its really easy to ace this class because he gives us all the exam questions, but attending class is still crucial because half of the exams focus on lecture.

Professor Rode is a super nice guy. I've taken him twice now. He gives you all of the test questions beforehand which is nice. One thing I will say is that I've received a B twice because it's almost so easy that you don't even care so actually study.

Prof Rode was so great, gives an interesting lecture each class, & how could you not love him after he brings you donuts at the final.. The lectures are enjoyable, there's no hw and he gives extra credit opportunities on top of study guides with all the questions for each test. He plays music videos at the beginning of class-awesome. Drops two of your lowest test grades! No homework, really interesting guy, definitely would recommend for anyone interested in Psychology, or looking to cross off a gen ed credit.

Professor Rode was great, he gives you all the questions to study from before the tests and all the work is done out of the workbook. You really don't need to buy the book because the information for all the questions for the workbook can be found on quizlet

Rode is the most understanding prof I've ever encountered. You have access to everything you'll be tested on ahead of time so what you do with that is what you get. You have the option of dropping 2 test scores to boost your overall grade which is a life saver!!

All you need to do is study and pay attention in lecture because he gives out many answers. He makes the class super fun, and he is very chill.

He makes this class incredibly straight forward and simple, as long as you show up and do what little he asks of you, you'll be fine. Professor Rode is definitely one of my favorite professors on campus. He is caring, funny & incredibly smart in his field. He doesn't give homework or projects. Your grade is based off of five tests (he drops your lowest test score) and the study guides are super similar to the tests. He truly wants to see students succeed. I'd give him an 11/10.

A great example of an "easy" class done right. The way the class is structured makes it so that you will learn so much just from showing up. The lectures are insanely entertaining and interactive, so much so that this will be that class you are excited to show up for. Show up to class, learn the material, take a few tests, get an A.

Professor Rode is an amazing teacher. Youre graded only on tests but you can drop the two lowest scores. His lectures are interesting, engaging, and fun. I had him years ago for a different psych class and when I found out I needed a pre-req to get my masters, I was delighted to see he was still teaching. Five years later and hes still got it

Dr. Rode is an awesome professor! If you want to expand your knowledge on the subject psychology, or if you just need the credits, then take this class. You will learn a lot in his class thanks to his somewhat unorthodox yet effective teaching style, and despite how much content he covers through the semester, this class is far from from being hard

Prof Lee ensures that you don't spend a ridiculous amount of $$$ for a textbook, doesn't give homework- however the studying you need to do for tests is homework in itself- is genuinely caring, funny, and keeps his lectures fun and engaging. Fair warning: this class is NOT for procrastinators. Just do your part, pay attention, and you'll get an A!

Uncle Lee is one of the best Psychology professors I had here at DVC. He is really passionate about what he teaches and doesn't give you any homework at all. The study guides are hard only if you wait until the day before the test to complete them. I never had a boring lecture in his class as well, and most of his lectures come from experiences.

Never wanted to take psych nor was it necessary for my major but as a g.e. I didn't care. I have to say not only was this class easy but it was very insightful and fun! Not like your usual slides and textbook reading lectures. Lee is very understanding and obviously loves what he does which makes going to class even more fun! I suggest taking him!

I loved this teacher! He has a very kind heart, and I always enjoyed showing up to his class, most of the study guide questions are found in the textbook rather than in class. Rode is a nice teacher, who is very funny, and does truly care about his students, and does anything he can to help everybody pass his class, I would definitely choose him!

Prof Lee made this class really enjoyable, he's super nice and gives an insightful perspective on the topics. He also provides us with all the questions and material on the exams, most important part is to do it ahead of time and go to class since he discusses most of the material that will show up on the exams and explains it more in depth.

I love Prof Lee! He is extremely clear and concise. This class is based off both the lectures and the textbook. But, he makes it easy to get information that you missed and is very clear on where to find info in the book. Seriously a fantastic teacher. Take his classes!

One of the best teachers I've had. The subject itself is really interesting. Uncle Lee always beings a good mood to class even on test days! He is really well organized. There are no surprises in his class, studying for exams are easy. Just be sure to show up and fill out the workbook. Reading the text book is also important but easy.

Fantastic prof who loves teaching, knows his field well, & is invested in students success. I took social & abnormal psych with him. Syllabus & grading criteria are clear & straightforward. Tests are multiple choice, you get all the questions (w/o the possible answers) in advance. Show up to class, do the reading, and youll do well.

He is a great professor. He was a clinical psychologist before, and has lots of experience. He knows what he is talking about and he cares what he teaches and cares about his students' future. He tells you exactly what the criteria is, and you are allowed to drop the lowest test. All test questions are given in advance, so just show up and have fun

This Prof really cares about his subject, and hopes to make his students care as well. He really knows what he's talking about and, if questioned, can often further explain things he touches on in lecture. Years of experience gives him a plethora of real world examples to pull for to help show in what he's teaching. Some questions can be tricky.

this is my first time taking psych and having him as a teacher is one of the best experiences i have. literally THE definition of an easy A if you put in the effort. he's hilarious during lectures and he's also very passionate on what he teaches. he's really caring and will do the best he can to make sure you pass his class.

Lee was carrying and he could be funny, he tries to do everything in his power to try and help the class pass the class and learn something coming out of it. Make sure to purchase the text book it is heavy based on it.

The BEST psych professor at dvc!!! Do the study guides and youll pass the exams. Theres a total of 5 exams and he drops the lowest score (5th exam cant be dropped) and he gives extra credit. Amazing professor 10/10 would take again.

I love prof rode! Best prof I have had at DVC. If you respect his class and listen to his lectures you learn a lot and its an easy class! You are only graded on 4 tests, 5 are "mandatory" but you have the option of taking a 6th and he drops your lowest!! Plus the workbook has all the questions ahead of time so you just have to study that. The BEST

BEST SOCIAL PSYCH PROF EVER! Professor Lee is truly an inspiration. The requirements for this class were the assigned textbook and workbook (which includes ALL exam questions for ALL tests). He drops two test grades out of six. Just show up to class, take notes, and READ the material! Easy A!

Lee Rode is the SHIZ. As a graduating senior who's taking classes at a 4 year and DVC simultaneously, this class was exactly what I needed. There is NO HOMEWORK in this class whatsoever. There are only 4 exams, and he drops the lowest one. A 'C' Grade falls between 60-80%, so it's practically impossible to fail the course. Take this professor ASAP.

Great teacher! You just read the sections in the textbook and do the workbook and you will do great on the tests. No essays or projects.

Gives out ALL test stems and lets you use a pink packet during one or two tests that have all your pre-written answers to those test stems. Lectures fun, lots of videos, and fill-ins. Lee is the best there is! You get your lowest test scores dropped, all test questions are given prior to exam and they are multiple choice. It is your duty to read and find those answers-super convenient. He's hilarious, kind, and gives extra credit frequently. Take abnormal psych! Great learning experience while being so easy. Professor rode is a great choice for an online PSYCH class! If you fill out the review sheets for each test ahead of time you will get an easy A. He is accessible by email and responds quickly. He defiantly wants his students to pass and gives them every chance possible including easy extra credit.

Lee made this a great class to take online during the pandemic. Super interesting, well organized, and not at all stressful. You just prepare for the tests with his lecture videos, short video clips, and read the textbook, but it's all fascinating material. Not to mention, he's just a nice guy who wants his students to succeed.

Very doable class. I took his class online. There are 6 tests, and only the four highest grades go towards your final grade. He gives you all the test questions beforehand and where to find them (either textbook reading, lectures, discussions, or assigned videos).

His class is basically all tests with really tricky questions. He does give you all the questions before hand but when the answers show up during the exam it can be really confusing. I'd just say if you're not a good test taker, consider another class. However, he does really want you to pass and assignments are straightforward.

Test questions are given to students far in advance so you have plenty of time to answer them, and only 4 out of the 6 tests count! Mr.Rode is very caring. His class was interesting and I learned a lot. Although there is a lot of reading, it is interesting and therefore easy to do. He gives us a guide of the test questions which is very helpful! Overall, I would recommend this class, he is an amazing teacher and person.

One of my favorite Psych Professors. He gives you a packet with every question for every exam you'll ever have so you can read the textbook, find the answers and just memorize those for the scantron test. He is so funny, caring, easy to learn from and very entertaining. You'll love his class and the textbook he chooses is actually fun to read
