good guy
He is an awesome instructor. All his test come straight from lectures. His lectures are extremely interesting.
He really gets into his lectures and I learned quite a bit this past year. Great teacher.
great elaboration
He gives a wonderful lecture. He is very smart and his class is very interesting. However, he doesn't give the students enough opportunity to ask questions.
awesome teacher. easy A. All you have to do is show up every class and pay atention. He really enjoys teaching and he makes students enjoy learning from him.
Great teacher. You can print off notes from his website and follow along in class. Great elaboration and he really loves history (it shows). Only 'hard' part is all-essay tests.
Definitely take his class. I took it for HIST 2 and loved it! I get bored very easily but he kept me up and on my toes, there is also a lot of writing if you don't print off his notes from the website. Would take him again!!!! A++++
Best teacher ever, I usually sleep in class but he kept me awake.
Exilent teacher. i wasnt interestnt that much in history until his class, easy to pay attention, i learned a ton. A++
WOW, Iloved his class, so much I'm fighting to take him for 1302, and it's already full, somone drop out, But I actuall took no notes just printed out the course information online and that was all, DO NOT BUY A BOOK for his class none needed, He Rocks the history books, BEST HIST TEACH ever!!!
He put you in the shoes of those in the past and gave meaning to our history
Snaples is an excellent teacher and I would love to have him as a teacher for any class. He makes learning the subject intresting and insightful. Quizes and Test are paragraph style, but very simple. Love Him, Excellent Teacher!!!!
Wish I could take him again, Loved his teaching style. He has been the best Prof. Ive had by far. Take His Class!!!
Just as good for Hist 2 as he was in Hist 1. Wish he taught government!
Excellent teacher wish more teacher were like him. He makes History interesting and enjoyable. He has quizzes during most of his classes, which help very much for test. Test and Quizzes are short essay style (few sentences or short paragraph) as long as hit the high points. Excellent! Excellent !
Snaples is a great professor. He makes his lectures interesting and easy to remember. He is willing to help and his tests are never multiple choice which I love! They are short paragraphs on previous lecture. You will make a good grade!!!! :)
Love this teacher! He only teaches in the morning which stinks but if you can make it to class he'll keep you awake. I would recommend this professor to anyone needing to get their history credit, love it or hate it, you won't be sorry. PS - tell him you love the Harlingen Cardinals, he'll remember your name.
very interesting lectures. fun class, really enjoyed it. learned alot.
He's kinda hot in an intellegent way. This is my second time to have him for a teacher and if everyone taught the way he did we would all learn something in every class. He makes the class fun and interesting. He is the best.
Snaples is a great teacher, i wanted to take the second part of history with him this semester, but everyone else beat me to it. if you can get a seat in his class, take it. One of the best teachers i have ever had.
This Teacher is Da S***, all you have to do is go to class listen to his Funny lectures and come back nexttime and right a paragraph over a topic ya'll talked about in class(this is labled as a "quiz") is is soooo easy take this man.

Dr. Snaples was a really cool teacher, he is one of the best teachers that I have ever had. He makes history fun and exciting, I learned alot in his class and I wish more teachers taught just like him.
Going into school you expect boring hard clases. its not the case with Dr. Snaples he is one of the best teachers that I have had in school. I was not a fan of history, it made no sence and was boring when i took it in high school. But He makes history fun and exciting! I RECOMEND HIS CLASS BOTH PARTS.. THANKS DR. SNAPLES!!
Great professor! He made History easy and interesting. I liked History before I took his class but after taking Dr.Snaples I absolutely LOVED History. If you want an exciting and easy class take this one.
Dr. Snaples is the one professor that has every bit of my respect. It's absolutely impossible to lose interest in class with all of his wit and kindness. He is very sincere about teaching. It's amazing how he remembers all of the names of his students. If you have the opportunity, I would recommend taking HIST 1301 and 1302 from Dr. Snaples.
Snaples was an excellent teacher, he always kept his lectures upbeat and interesting. Maybe the hardest thing about being in his class was it's a bit difficult to keep up with his style of teaching when note-taking.
Came to class with the attiude of there is nothing in us history to learn about! i was plesently surpised loved his class. very fast. tests ever lesson but it helps with your exam. no real final. Will be taking him again if im still in the USA take a tape recorder, just to make sure you dont miss a thing, you wont get board!
Dr. Snaples class is the best. He makes history very interesting. It is a must to attend classes. He gives daily tests and as long as you keep up, it's easy to get an A.
Greta teacher, you could tell he loved his subject. Textbook is NOT needed all tests are in short essay answer form, if you take notes you should make an A or B noproblem.
I LOVE THIS TEACHER I HAS ABSOLUTELY NO INTEREST IN HISTORY AND NEVER LISTENED IN ANY OF MY OTHER HISTORY CLASES BUT I DO IN THIS ONE HIS CLASS IS SO EASY I HATE HISTORY AND IM MAKING A HIGH B IN HIS CLASS I RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER FOR HISTORY HE IS REALLY GOOD, INTERESTING AND EASY
Dr. Snaples is great! He loves the subject and it shows in his lectures. His style of teaching is fun and I often found myself listening to his stories (I hate to call them lectures) instead of taking notes. There is no required book and he posts the topics online. I printed these out and would make additional notes for the topics we discussed.
HE IS THE BEST TEACHER EVER! I have always loathed hist class til him his style of teaching is AWESOME!
I don't think Dr.Snaples needs more ratings but I feel compelled to give my input on this awesome professor!! He was the most interesting person to listen to. He would use analogies to explain history. Take good notes and study and you will do fine. He has figured out a way to make the class fun while the student actually learns!what a concept!
He rocks!! His lectures are great, he makes things crystal clear and answers any questions. His test are blue book but if you study and write what he has thought you youll do great. I got a 100 on all his test.
Does DR.Snaples really need more ratings? No, but I can't help but give him one anyway. I know ppl give Brian Johnson great ratings but he does not even come close to Dr.Snaples! Brian has looks and humor but Snaples has so much more. Jesus taught in parables so the people would understand. Dr.Snaples does this in his own way:)
Please Dr. Snaples teach your fellow professors your StYle of TeaHing!! This class is awesome! I enjoyed every moment of it. I feel totally different about history.
I always enjoy Prof. Snaples lectures. I will definitely try and have him again. He is interesting and the time flies by.
Dr. Snaples is the most engaging teacher I have ever experienced. I wish more professors taught with the same enthusiasm as he does. Class attendance is mandatory as he doesn't require a text book. If you take favorable notes and pay attention you will pass his class with flying colors! (And actually learn something in the process)
Dr. Snaples is a really good teacher. His test are easy if you go to class. If you go to class you will pass. I would recommend him!
AWESOME professor! Go to class, take/read notes, have good attitude, pay attention and there's an A!! I would take him for any history class!
I took him for 2nd part of US hist. Not a fan of the subject & LOVED his class. he makes it intertesting. take/read good notes. go to class, pass with flying colors it's that simple. super easy no text book required. most passionate teacher I've ever had. I would take/recomend him anyday.
Mr. Snaples is a great professor. He is all lecture, but his lectures are very entertaining. If you show up to his class, you don't even need to buy the textbook. He has a very easy quiz the first of each week and a test every few weeks as he mandates. Enjoyed this class a lot. Great sense of humor.
Dr.Snaples is a great professor who is always passionate and excited about history everyday. He requires no textbook, quiz are once a week and tests are on bluebook with short paragraphs describing issues in details. Outline Notes are available from his website to help you for your quizzes or tests. Highly recommended for HIST 1301/1302 !
Dr. Snaples is the only history teacher anyone should take... ever... period... end of discussion! He's amazingly passionate about history AND his students! show up and listen to his funny/interesting lectures, write a paragraph summarizing the topic, and make an A. It's that easy! I LOVE YOU DR. SNAPLES!
I don't know what class everybody else has been in, but the class is alright---not spectacular. Lots of lectures, but easy course. Don't sit in the spit zone, never miss a quiz or exam, and he seems to loathe tardiness or absentees--no matter what your grade is or whatever excuse you may have. Then again, maybe he just didn't like my class.
Dr.Snaples is a great teacher. His class is really easy. He just gets up and lectures in story format and rarely uses his notes. Quizzes are the same topics that are on the test. Actually made history entertaining and I usually hate it.
I loved his class!!! If you went to class and took good notes it was an easy A! Made the lectures interesting by turning them into a story. My favorite was when he talked about Rasputin! Dr. Snaples is a excellent History teacher. I always wondered why he never moved to a University to teach advanced History, he would be excellent at it!
I have had the privilege of taking Dr.Snaples for HIST 1301/1302. He is very intelligent and acknowledgeable in his field of teaching. Always passionate about teaching and its shows in the ways he lectures during class everyday. Quizzes are once a week, with a bluebook test every several week as directed. I highly recommended him for HIST 131/1302!
I don't know if its the same teacher but i had Noble Snaples at south campus. His amazing!! Makes everything soo clear to understand. I never liked history but he made me interested in it. I've learned a lot!!! Highly recommended!!
Ugh. Just got through this fall semester. I had heard great things about this prof., sadly, just another tired prof. telling stories. no real history hear.
He is amazing! He is helpful, fun to listen to and you do learn a lot. Just make sure to take notes and listen to his stories. If you do those things you will be able to pass his class. His tests are awesome! He is very invested in making sure you continue your education.
he doesn?t give the grades that the quizzes or the Exams deserve. I asked him two times about my quiz grade. He looked at it and said, ?Yeah, its not missing anything I owe you couple points.? He did this to everyone. I was 5 points away of making an A. but I made a B, if he would have not taken so many points for nothing I would have made an A.
Good professor, very clear on expectations. Go to class, pay attention you will do well. Loved this professor.
he actually makes history pretty interesting. he gives quizzes once a week but they are pretty easy and his exams are just like the quizzes with more topics to write about. for the exam he gives you a list of topics from which you chose i think 5 and write a paragraph on them. all he really wants to know is the who, what, when, where and why.easy A
His class if fun. However, it seems like he just never wants to give you a good grade on the exam no matter how good you do on it.I always wrote the date, place, why etc... and still came up short on making an A(but i did extra credit). He just need to learn to give the students what they desrve.
Def knows his stuff. Great prof. Dosent have a structured grading system, seems like he just throws down whatever comes to him at the time. Isnt consistent. If you figure out his system, go to class, and study a little its a fun and easy class.
He is an excellent Professor and I highly recommend his class. He captures your attendance with his lectures and the time flies quickly. Pay attention and take good notes and you'll do great!
He is an awesome teacher. Don't miss a class, because tests and quizzes are 95% lecture. He made learning history entertaining so it stuck with me all the way to the final. He gives current examples to help understand what it was like or how people might have felt. So recommend this professor for History 1301 and 1302.
Do not take him.. he's not fair at all and will fail you.
He was down to earth about everything. Made it so everyone understood. You HAVE to be at class because he gives quizzes almost every day, but they are so easy it's impossible not to make a 100. Everything is based on notes.
Dr. Snaples is probably the best professor that I have had in my two years of being at TCC. His ability to teach clearly and effectively is well beyond what many other professors at the campus are capable of doing. He is also a seemingly genuine and kind person...I highly recommend taking him for as many courses as possible!
Dr Snaples is a good professor and a genuine very kind person I wish other could be like him, he like what he do and you can see it in him.
FANTASTIC! He makes the lectures so easy to follow. Make sure to take good notes and attend class regularly, he has quizzes every other class time (only like 5 easy questions). I never once opened my history book and still got a high B in the class. He's great!
THIS IS THE BEST PROFESSOR YOU WILL EVER HAVE! He tells you History like it's a story. Make sure you come to class and BE SURE to take great notes. If you aren't doing too good go talk to Him and Snaples will help you out if he sees that you're trying. It's hard to fail his class if you are paying attention, attending class, and taking good notes.
I never want to leave his class, his lectures are so gripping that I don't want the class to end. One of the best professors I have had!
Terrible, absolutely terrible. Ruined my 4.0.
i loved his class, he does nothing but lecture but his keep you engaged, its like story time. he did not use textbook the time i took him you didnt even need to rent/buy it. he's great and i am the furthest thing from an A student but i made an A. Take Him!! a recorder also helps, he is not hard at all and his material sticks! best class I've had!
Took his class and enjoyed it. He knows his material and makes it all entertaining where you will remember it. A recorder would be helpful on somedays you might forget to write something. Gives quizzes first class each week but aren't too hard and prepare you for the tests. I plan on taking him for 1302 and advise you to take him as well.
This professor is absolutely amazing. Not only is he passionate about the subject, he is passionate about his students. He is willing to help and work with you if you also put in the effort. I highly recommend that you take his class. I wish that he taught more than just 1301 and 1302.
TAKE HIM!!! very fun lectures really easy. Of course take really good notes. His quiz(s) are easy but also very easy to fail so try not fail none of them(they add up easily). Also gives easy extra credit.
his class is very easy just take notes from the lecture, read them and the quizzes and tests will be absolutely easy, I didn't even buy the book because it wasn't really needed at all.
All you have to do is show up to class and take notes and you will do great in his class, dont even buy the book, no reason for it... GREAT PROFESSOR!!
Isn't the easiest teacher, but if you show up and pay attention to events and people you will be fine. His test are open ended so you have some wiggle room but you will need to study and ready from the book a little to get an A on his tests.
Best Professor I have had yet. Knows his stuff, and there is never a dull moment in his class. I'm taking 2302 this semester. You write two semi-short papers, then 3 tests. No final!
I loved him. I am an A student, but made a B in his class. His tests are fill in the blank, so you learn the material. Don't take him if you are looking for a blow off class. You MUST attend class. DO take him if you want to learn in a story telling fashion. I was so sad to see the class end. Favorite professor by far. I took him for Hist 1 and 2.
LOVED HIM. His lectures are more like him telling a story, hes very interesting and easy to understand. He takes a quiz every Monday about the past lectures the week before. easy quizzes- as long as you were in class you will make an a. only has 3 tests and he uses the same quiz questions on his tests. super easy as long as you go to class!:)
I wish I would have taken this class for Hist 1. I love this man. ;( Sad that his semester will be over soon and will have to move on. 3 tests(60%), 2 essays(11% each) , quizzes. (11%) oh well. 3. This class is awesome, you should take him cause he's awesome. sucks that this semester is over, but what are you gonna do ; ;c ;c ;c
Says you need no book; you do-he tests over material not covered in class. Tests are short answer, so you better take notes. This is all fine, except that his method of grading papers is arbitrary and not specified. He also doesn't read them thoroughly. You can get an A, but there's too much seemingly random chance involved for me to recommend him.
Seriously, one of my favorite professors by far. I heard good things about him before taking his class and they weren't wrong. Normally an all short answer test would be hard but the way he gives his lectures it's pretty spot on with the tests. Take good notes and read the chapters (just an overview is good) and you'll do great. Sad it ended.
Lots and Lots of reading. A few discussion boards, three exams, chapter quizes and one writing assignment. You will read a chapter and then take a 5 question - 5 minute quiz. Take lots of notes for his test. I would take his class again.
I heard positive review about this professor and they were right. he was amazing and to think I was bad at history. he made me think differently by the way he taught it. Sure his class required alot of reading but it doesn't have to be from a text book. any source to history will work. if you learn better from a story-telling manner, then take him.
This guy is AMAZING. In the short 4 month semester, ive developed a huge crush on this guy. 3 tests, and 2 book reports, test questions come from your weekly quizzes, makes history cool again. This guy is amazing, i r8 88 m8 dnt h8 :) Also you need to show up to class to pass. listen and pay attention and you will be FINE 3
Think history is boring? Well his lectures are captivating, he's obviously passionate about history. Make sure to take good notes for weekly quizzes. Only 3 exams which includes the final, 2 essays that are pretty simple and easy. Good professor to take if you dont like learning history
Other ratings say he ruins your GPA unfortunately he does, my four point O is toast. He's a great teacher, but tough grader. He's kind and willing to answer questions, but doesn't give you much wiggle room. There will be random questions from the book on the test that he doesn't go over. He gives you the grade he wants not exactly the one you wor
I think this class is fairly easy, but the tests can hurt you. The first one is VERY difficult, so make sure you study for it. There's a discussion post about every other week and those are fairly simple. Also, there's a weekly 5 question quiz that - if you read the chapter - is not too bad. He's a really nice guy and will help you if you need it!
Need your book. Need to show up to class. You have to take notes for his lecture. This is what he bases his tests off of. You do need to read your chapters. He gets questions for the test from the book as well. He is great at what he does, and you will learn a lot! Highly recommended.
Took his online summer course. He is a wonderful professor. Even with the online class you can tell his love for History. But this course was hard! But that is mostly because it was a summer course. Lots of reading, quizzes and tests. As long as you do the work you will do fine. I would def take him on campus though.
As long as you study you will pass easily. One paper over a book of your choice from the booklist. Four tests total including final, from lecture and reading chapters. Extra credit opportunities available. Passed with an A after getting used to his teaching style.
Great teacher overall, extremely understanding if you explain to him your situation. Do your work and you will be fine.
The most amazing professor I've taken. I had him for HIST 1301 by chance but made sure I took him again for 1302. His lectures were by far the most fascinating I've ever had the pleasure to attend. He makes history interesting. He truly cares about his students. If you are able to take him, DO.
After an 8 year hiatus from college, I decided to come back to finish my core. I took Dr Snaples for HIST 1301 as an online course after reading his reviews on here and I'm so glad I did. He's challenging but, as long as you do your work (plus READ the chapters & STUDY), you'll pass! Oh, and he gives SUPER easy extra credit! I got almost 20 points!
Dr. Snaples is a once-in-a-lifetime history professor. I took both Hist1301 and hist1302 with him and made A's in both because all you have to do is listen to his lectures and take good notes- I never even touched the textbook. His lectures are awesome and he is a great orator. He is merciful to hardworking students and offers extra credit.
Took his online HIST 1301 class in a summer session. Lots of short quizzes which are good for studying for exams. He gives a lot of EXC opportunities so take advantage of that! The textbook is kind of dry and boring so if you don't want to spend two hours reading a day I'd suggest watching YouTube videos to understand the concepts.
An entertaining lecturer and orator. He tells history like it's a massive epic and tries to explain why specific events are significant to overall history. Hardly any ppts & you take notes from his verbal lecture. If you're too used to copying straight from the powerpoint vs a 100% auditory lecture, you might struggle. Lots of short answer question
He made history so easy during online schooling. Just read the text book and do the work and it will be a piece of cake.
Dr. Snaples is a great professor and an easy A! You will have to read the chapter or at least watch the you tube videos to pass the weekly 10 question timed quizzes. Every week its a discussion board question and you have to respond to two classmates. He also provides extra credit. Test are not proctored but timed. One critical thinking essay.
Highly recommend taking Dr. Snaples class, he is an amazing professor. His lectures are never boring and he teaches you in ways you can easily understand. You do have quizzes every week but they are easy since they are from his lectures. The essay is somewhat difficult but you have the entire semester to work on it.
easy history class provides plenty of videos that are optional and give lots of extra credit he is funny this class is an easy a homework is manageable a discussion boards and a weekly quiz
Great professor would recommend him to everyone
This class is very lecture-heavy Dr. Snaples makes history understandable. Honestly, it's the second time I've taken a History class, and this time around, I feel like I'm actually understanding what's going on. You definitely need to be in class if you want to understand enough to pass the exams.
