HE IS SO SLAY AND SUCH A CUTIE PIE. He currently teaches my calc 1ls3 class and while some of the content is difficult, he takes his time to explain any concepts. He makes funny jokes sometimes too but some of them aren't super funny which makes them funnier. Easy participation marks too!

He's one of my favourite profs I've had so far. He explains everything so clearly and takes as much time needed to explain the harder concepts. You can tell he really cares and only wants the best for his students. He's also so funny lol. Love going to his classes

ugh, where do I start. van brussel's only priority is that his students do well and are set up for success for the next round of classes. he clearly puts a lot of work into lecture materials and answers emails quickly and thoroughly. approachable, engaging, knowledgeable and easy on the eyes too - especially at 8 am! a must-have prof!

Dr. Brussel is so good at explaining things. He planned the course out rlly well and organized, it was super easy to follow. He's a really good math prof - math isn't a relatively easy subject so having a prof that explains things rlly well is amazing

I tried taking Math 2C03 last term with another prof and I can't believe the difference in teaching quality. Dr. van Brussel's ability to explain concepts is unmatched by any professor I've had so far. I will admit that I dislike the course material and the textbook but he is making my time in the class less painful.

He is seriously the best. The best. He is so so helpful and wants nothing but for everyone to do well :)

Dr. Van Brussel is an excellent Math professor at Mac. I am not a person who enjoys math at 8:30 in the morning, but since the professor was good at explaining the concepts, it was easy to follow. The prof explained each and every concept in detail and asked if we had any questions throughout his lecture. His notes were simple and easy to follow!

I have had Lee three times now as a prof and that is not by coincidence. I had Lee first for Math 2XX3 last summer and I just started taking courses he was teaching after that (just finished Math 3X03 with him this term). He is soooo nice and he is amazing at explaining everything. Idk how this guy is only a sessional lecturer.

Just had my first test yesterday and it was very fair. Dr. Van Brussel is so good at explaining everything and he has unique ways of explaining complicated topics. In our first class he used a piece of clear plastic to show how inverse functions work. He also had a funny example for explaining limits where he pretends a charging cable is a snake

Lee is an absolute gem. He's also one of the very few profs who record lectures!

Professor Lee is a godsend for students who are afraid of math like myself. He's very kind and actually made me interested in the course. The flashcards he made were a lifesaver and he gave extra credit work. Tip: Not a knock on Lee, but this course is fast-paced in the spring, so you should take it in the fall/winter if you need it slower

Arguably the best prof. in the department, He'll never make you feel dumb and I'll learn a lot more in his classes than I do in others, he'll always explain things fundamentally from the ground up/with the basics. Also has a lot of cool stories and is really funny lol, Tests are very fair. Only class I was actually sad when I missed it.

I don't know how anybody could give this guy below a 5.0, great lectures, tests are very fair and not too difficult, and everything is clearly taught and laid out. The textbook he provides is OK, but he makes his own notes in latex and posts them which are way better than the textbook.

Lee Van Brussel is amazing, not the easiest course but he was able to make it super understandable. Cares a lot about his students, and his office hours are really great. One of the profs of all time for sure.

One of the most caring and incredible professors I've had the pleasure of taking a course with. Always open to any kind of questions course-related and not during office hours, and often planned and extended office hours much past what was required. He often cracked jokes during lectures and clearly wanted every single student to succeed.

Absolutely stellar prof. Goes to great lengths to make himself available for additional office hours so everyone has a chance to go over confusing material and succeed. So many profs out there are apathetic and complacent to just read slides and move on - van Brussel actually TEACHES each topic in a very digestible and comprehensive way. Love him!

He doesn't go overboard with jokes and prioritizes teaching the material in a clear and concise manner. He provides excellent feedback and is always helpful during office hours. Lee van Brussel is literally the greatest professor of all time. Insanely fair tester and makes sure you know exactly what is going to be on the test.

LvB is a super engaging professor! However, he and another professor recently changed the MATH1LS3 test format. Tests are now out of 30 instead of 40 - and the multiple choice questions are worth 2 marks each. The first test in this class went very smooth, but because the average was so high, LvB and the other professor made the second test harder.

Absolutely amazing professor, I absolutely hate calculus but he was able to make th ecourse easy to follow. Be a little careful on tests though as its easy to make mistakes just via the nature of the content

Lee is genuinely an amazing professor who explains concepts clearly and is highly approachable and helpful! The last midterm was nothing if not fair, yet he has been getting hate mail from students who should only be upset with their own ability. The written was very similar to the course pack and there was nothing on that test that wasn't taught.

He is very fair in his testing and add humour to his lectures. He also explains concepts in a detailed and engaging manner.

Lee Van Brussel is my favourite prof this semester, he is so caring and sweet and you can tell he loves his job. He makes everyone laugh which keeps us engaged and encouraged to learn math. He really does everything he can to make sure you succeed!

Class averages were ~60 but thats consistent with previous years and the sample size is ~1500 so it doesn't really matter. The prof is amazing and the tests were very fair, given you put in the work and studied. He also takes feedback and is very open and honest with communication!!

Again and again, the best Prof at McMaster. Lee is an absolute gem, and the only complaint I have is that I've taken all the courses he teaches and probably won't have him for anything again. A good teacher makes all the difference, and Lee is the best of the best.

LEE VAN BRUSSEL MY GOAT. By far my favourite prof this semester. His tests are fair (bordering on the easy side lol) and it really seems like he wants us all to succeed in the class. Definitely try to attend the lectures. He goes over the content in a way that is easily digestible, while still making it engaging.

Dr. Lee van Brussel is such a sweet professor, always looking out for his students and ensures that his classes are engaging! While I believe I could've done better in this course, his teaching, tests and overall grading schemes have always been fair! :)

Lee Van Brussel actively made sure that students were understanding the course content and made an additional grading scheme to support students GPA and grade in the class. I'm not sure a lot of other profs would do that and this shows the kind of prof he is. His tests are reasonable, honestly the first two were very easy.

LVB is the best professor I've had this year. He's so incredibly caring for his students and wants them all to succeed. He offers weekly office hours and always asks if anyone has questions during lectures. He is very funny and lighthearted, helping us stay engaged in the material.

Good at explaining concepts, however what is explained in class is 10x easier then the test and exams. Do the coursepack as those questions help stir you towards what will be on the exam and test. Additionally, really understand the childsmath quizzes

I wasn't actually in his class. I had the 8:30 with Zotine so sometimes I would go to LVB's lectures. I loveeee his lecture style and he's so funny. Very good at explaining ideas and makes it interesting.
