I took the 8week course and loved it. Dr. Lucas is truly an intelligent & caring professor. Lots of reading but all interesting material. This is the type of professor who makes you want to switch your major, she is that awesome. Wish we had more professors like this! Read the material/study and you will pass.

I loved Dr. Lucas, she was an amazing teacher. the lectures were long but interesting. assignments are easy if you pay attention in class, you need to attend class in order to pass. she gives out a lot of information for the tests during power point lectures. easy grader and very caring. if you have any questions she will gladly help you.

The group projects were fun to be apart of. The teacher was very knowledgeable about her material and answered questions promptly.

Good teacher, was funny and gave interesting videos to watch. Her lectures are very intriguing and you can tell she cares about the material. Her lectures are posted online but its always better to show up because you get a better understanding of the material. Tests are pretty straightforward and adjusts curriculum to fit students.

Prof. Lucas is great. Her syllabus is very helpful. She gives you a study guide before each test it's worth 10pts and if you do it she allows you to use a index card on the tests. She's passionate about teaching. Always in a positive mood. I would definitely take her again.

She's a wonderful professor. Her lectures are very understanding and she'll answer your questions if you don't understand something. She really shows that she cares. She gives study guides and an index card you can use on the exam if you finish the study guide. Her lecture powerpoints are online so I suggest to print them and bring them to class.

Professor Lucas is one of the best professors. You really need to attend class because it's an easy A if you go. She makes sure that everyone understands. Although there are quite a. bit of assignments, they are easy. I would defintely take another one of her classes. And she's funny. Can't get a better professor for Anthropology.

She is a great teacher. Straight to the point. All work is done online or submitted online so no chance of forgetting to do an assignment. Attendance is mandatory but not we are not graded for it. She says it helps to bump up a grade if on the boarder line.

Dr. Lucas really hates giving F's so she'll do what you can if you're not a jerk and actually try to work with her. Theres online work every week but it never takes more than 30 minutes to complete it all. The lectures are interesting.

She's a great teacher. Grades 14 chapter InQuizitives (very easy, can keep trying for full points, need book), Video quizzes (1-3 questions), 3 study guides, 3 tests, 4-5 in-class assignments (group work). Overall a very easy class and she also gives out extra credit opportunities.

Dr. Lucas is an awesome professor to have. Of my four classes this semester, she was the only professor to send an email to all of us advising us of important things to bring and study to prepare for our first class. Lots of assignments, but they are not difficult and they are very engaging, not just chap. Rev. Questions in the tctbook.

She loves her subject and is extremely accomplished in physical anthropology. Very approachable. Textbook covers too much detail for a 16 week class. She cares very much how students are performing. Believes in what she is teaching! Feedback is needed for assignments though. More class discussion would help clarify the lecture and textbook.

Dr. Lucas knows what she's teaching and cares about teaching it well. She can be flexible with grading and scheduling and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. Read your book for an hour and take some notes, do the homework and practice the material a little bit. Some group work assignments in-class, but they can be done outside of class!

This was a very easy class. All the work that was needed to be done was on the syllabus. She is very nice and if you message her she replies quickly. I recommend!

Dr. Lucas's class was a very fascinating and fun experience. A little stressful at times, but if you pay attention in class and follow the syllabus - you can pass this class! I've taken both Anthro 101 and 102 online with Dr. Lucas and earned an A in these courses. Her grading criteria couldn't be any clearer. If you do all of the InQuizitive assignments, follow the syllabus assignments and work on the study guides, then it's very possible to earn an A in this course. She's very responsive and caring. Highly recommend.

She has guest speakers during the course; she's a paleobotanist, so she invites archaeologists with specializations different from hers. There are a few extra credit opportunities.

I took the 8-week online course. There was a good amount of material each week but I was able to do it in a few hours the day of. The exams need to be studied for but she gives a study guide. Very interesting material and this was by far my favorite online course that I have taken.

I took Dr. Lucas's accelerated online 8-week course. Very interesting, especially since I took this class during the pandemic. The online textbook is a must, I suggest also having the physical copy as well which you can rent for cheaper. Heavy workload; lots of quizzes, and 3 exams, but it's accelerated. She promptly returned my messages as well.

Very caring about her students! She does give out a lot of work, small quiz and discussion etc but as long as you do the reading and know how to time manage all the work, you'll be good and come out with a good grade, its an easy pass ! Professor Lucus was great! I took her for a 8 week online summer course - anthropology 101. Due to the shortness of the the course there was a lot of work of course but she had it well distributed. The discussions were interesting and kept me engaged in a conversation which was important for an online class. She provided feedback often.

Very reading heavy, and you will have to make time to watch documentaries and a clip. But you can't get a kinder, nicer, more caring teacher than her. That's certainly what would make me recommend her to any student looking to take Anthropology. If you plan to take her during Summer though, do not take any other classes.

I really wish I could have taken this class in person and not on-line I am sure I would have loved Dr. Lucas even more. Highly recommend her. Do the InQuizitives and participate in the discussions and you will do good. There were 3 quizzes and a final. Again the InQuizitives really help to do well on those, especially if you don't like reading.

This was an 8 week class which made the work load a little heavy but it is not unreasonable and the variety of different kinds of assignments make the class fun. Dr. Lucas is an absolute gem. This class was fun, enjoyable, and interesting. The textbook she chose is available in CSN's library for free, but you can buy or rent a physical copy of the book if you'd like. I have had few professors more willing to go above and beyond to help their students succeed. She also offers plenty of EC opportunities.

The discussions, videos, assignments, and quizzes all complemented the textbook very well. She is very understanding, especially with it being online and during COVID.

This course was GREAT! I am so glad I found Dr. Lucas she is brilliant. Her lectures are great. You can work ahead and you get an opportunity to score 100 on all book work, as long as you keep reading and going through questions. You have lots of flexibility and different lectures and coursework but it ties together and is engaging. Take her ASAP!

Everything is online, there are no live lectures or class sessions, but if you just do the assigned work and participate in discussions, you'll do just fine.

I took Dr. Lucas's Cultural Anthropology class online in the summer. Of the online classes I've taken, her class was the most organized and engaging. Loved taking this class! It was very straightforward with clear due dates broken up weekly. As long as your going down the checklist it's impossible to miss assignments. Very responsive. Has weekly quizzes, a midterm, and a final exam, all easy enough. Definitely recommend Prof. Lucas.

The online course is really enjoyable i'm sure its even better in person! Truly a lot to learn in this course but the structure she's set up makes it very manageable, discussions every now and then, inquizitives on each chapter, study guides for mid & final, and some quizzes on videos that are really interesting. Had Professor Lucas for Archeology and Biological Anthropology. The use of videos and the textbook activities helped me grasp the concepts that I was struggling with. Would definitely take again, and recommend. The workload looks overwhelming, but it is just a couple of short videos with 1-2 question quizzes to make sure you get it.

Professor Lucas is wonderful. All of the homework assignments and tests follow the book. You can keep doing the homework assignments until you receive a 100%. You have 2 attempts for each assignment quiz (15 questions). The video quizzes are only 1-2 questions long and there is no time limit. Easy class. I definitely recommend this professor.

Pretty basic course. As long as you complete the assignments and readings you should be able to pass the class no problem. There are 13 chapters and a hw assignment after each. 2 exams. A couple discussions videos and quizzes relating to the videos. And a final essay.

I loved this class! So many awesome resources were utilized. You literally cover all types of learning styles. She records lectures and provides videos with short quizzes about them. She is also really helpful when it comes to technical difficulties and responds very quickly. I learned so much and had a great time with all the assignments.

We read 2 to 3 chapters and had 1 discussions every week (good study tool). We had 14 InQuizitive Tutorials (good study tool). She gives clear feedback. She graded leniently, if directions are followed. She answers email in 24 school days. She provides a study guide which can be used on the three tests. I enjoyed her class and would take her again.

Professor Lucas's 8-week anthropology class was actually really interesting, and not overwhelming. She has a very simple course, basically discussion posts and inquisitive. Actually watch her recorded lectures, they are there for a reason.

The course has a straightforward structure. There will be 1-2 homework assignments that you get unlimited attempts on until you reach 100% and then a discussion post based on the chapter due each week. You do have to skim each chapter at least to know what the unit is about, but it is very manageable.

I really enjoyed Dr. Lucas and this class. Following the modules, participating in discussions and doing the assignments will get you an A. It's a lot of information but it's all very interesting. All of the material was well matched with the course. Tests are very passible if you do the work. I recommend this class, hands down. I loved it.

I took a four-week summer course, so while it was a lot of homework weekly, it was most likely because of this. The work was personally time-consuming but not difficult. Her canvas layout is very straightforward and organized so I never had to worry about missing a due date. She offers audio lectures and extra videos if needed.

Professor Lucas' ANTH102 was engaging and rewarding. The workload was manageable with her well-structured Canvas layout. I found Unstuck ai and the study guides very helpful for acing the exams. Overall, a great class!

The course plan for this class was great I learned so many things about Genes, DNA, and becoming Human that I did not know before taking this class. It was educational while also being fun. I most definitely recommend this class to students looking to take a science class this class was much more than science to me.

The lectures and videos provide you with all the tools you will need to excel and pass this class. The videos from the professor gave good insight on most the videos. Great class and great professor.

Grade is based on following VERY CLEAR insturctions on discussion posts. You have one or two a week with a few video quizzes peppered along the way (super easy). She provides study guides that are not graded... do them! Really hard to mess this class up.
