dont take the class if you dont have the questions

really a great person. one of the few professors that actually wants his students to succeed. if you study you will do well. this kind of person really is hard to find. makes the class fun and interesting. ive had many professors and mr soloff was one of the few that actually wanted me to succeed.

A pretty good teacher but truly and honestly cares for his students and will help them succeed. Nice guy.

YOU GUYS DON'T TAKE ANYBODY BUT SOLOFF. SOLOF'S TEST ARE OUT AND BLIEVE IT OR NOT SOME PEOPLE PASS THE CLASS WITH AN A AND THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CHEM 101 BECAUSE THEY HAD THE TESTS. SO THIS IS A GOOD TEACHER BECAUSE HIS TESTS ARE OUT. TAKE HIM. ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS FINED THE TESTS.

If you want to pass chemistry, he might do the trick. BUT if you actually want to learn chemistry, you'd do better learning from a rock. Ask any question and he we'll be more than happy to not only make you feel like a moron, but not answer your question. The man should retire already.

great teacher, he really knows his stuff and is willing to help. some people really just suck at chem and shouldnt do chem or any major it relates to. he goes over everything that will be on the test. simply some people dont get it. take him and u will do good.

Chemistry 101 is a difficult course to begine with. Out of Von hungen and girgis, he's the best teacher for 101. He's funny too. It would be beneficial to record his lectures, he doesn't write a lot on the board because he's lazy, so he just says a lot of crucial information.

Out of the three Chem 101 professors,you should take Soloff.He makes the concepts in the book easy to understand,and in grading the tests does his best to give you the extra points.Although it may not seem like it Professor Soloff cares about his students and does want them to do well.

He is the only chem professor that i enjoyed learning from. He made things easy to understand and class interesting. I have never liked chem, he made it fun. Attend all lectures and there's no way you won't do well.

If you plan on getting a decent grade in Chem 101, he is the teacher to pick. His exams are tough but he does go over everything in lecture. Make sure you ask a lot of questions because his lectures move fast. If you need further assistance he is more than happy to help during his office hours before class starts. He uses a lot of sarcasm.

Dr. Soloff is probably one of the best professors around. I had him for 101 and 102.If you do the reading, the homework, and ask questions, you will get an A. If you are lazy and copy off of others, you will not. He will answer any question you give him and he is very reasonable and accomodating. Just do not ask stupid questions during the lab.

Take him he is the best out of five other teacher.

Great person and teacher, truly cares about his students. Prof. Soloff will sit with you and explain the material until you understand it backwards and forwards. Take good notes, ask questions when you don't understand and its impossible to do poorly.

take him. he is the most dedicated teacher. he wount give up until you understand exactly what he is trying to teach you. too bad he doesnt teach o-chem. would have loved to be his student for another year.

Awesome professor with a sarcastic sense of humor (which many may not like). Explains difficult concepts piece by piece to make sure you understand them. Tests are challenging, but totally doable. Would have loved to have him for Organic Chem

Proff. solloff is the best chemistry teacher our there. He not only made the class fun, but easy to understand. He is sarcastic but in a fun way. I really enjoyed his class except the questions asking part because he really gets frustrated if you ask the same question again.

let me just start out by saying chemistry is not a very easy subject so people have to start studying and stop being lazy.his notes may be unorganized but you can still learn alot by studying the book and asking him questions.if you want an easy A then chemistry is not for you and u need to change your major

He is such a sweet guy. He lectured really well and gave examples for us. We had homework but it was just to do review questions (no spevific amount). He always was there at office hours for help. Weekly quizzes. Tests are easy if you study the lecture notes. Gives extra credit on tests. Curves tests. He's funny. I got a B, but was close to an A.

Good teacher and very funny, so funny that he makes fun of you sometimes,but not the best. He is very helpful in lectures but mean and unhelpful in the labs.He's always there for his office hours and helps you with anything. The exam problems are exactly like the ones he does on the board so make sure not to miss the lectures. Find old exams:)

definately the best chem professor at pierce. i'm hoping to take a chem class with him again. HE IS THE BESTTTT AND EASY A!!

if he's available for chem, take him!!! your will find no easier and better professor than soloff. i wish i could take him again. he is the bestttttt and you will get an A if you study enough. he is THE BEST!!

He explains everything very well and is very helpful. His tests might be tricky but find old ones and study you will be fine. He's the cutest grandpa. Throws jokes around in class so you dont fall asleep. He's the best takehimtakehimtakehim:)

From East to West you are the best. I barely call someone a good teacher, but this guy is the best I have ever had. I'm really sorry for thoes of u who said he is not cause I just think who u are gonna have later in your science life.Close your mouth in the class and take notes then u'll be fine

Mr. Soloff is the best teacher you can get at Pierce. He knows what he is doing, and is really helpful. He is extremely sarcastic, but not in a bad way. He was definitely my favorite teacher, so take his class!

Easy class if you study. Try to get ahold of his old tests, they help a lot. Professor Soloff is always willing to help students. Go to office hours if you can.

He is one of the best chem prof I've ever had ! There's a quiz or exam every week! It helps the students to understand better the material.. read the textbook before lecture, and u'll be fine ! He's willing to help you during lecture and office hour !

He is awesome but here are the facts, Chemistry is difficult. He teaches chem at a university level and expects you to study/understand at that level. He tells you EXACTLY what will be on the test and there are no surprises. If you ask stupid questions he will give a stupid answer just like in real life. Fantastic prof, would take again.

He is really funny and interesting as a person. As a teacher, he is also funny and makes the lectures interesting. Study his notes and with the generous curve, you will get an A. He allows you to do the HW on either paper (from textbook) or on mastering Chemistry which is very convenient. He is also helpful during office hours. I recommend him!!

I realized that many professors I took are rated very badly here even though they were wonderful teachers. Professor Soloff is one of them. He knows how to teach and what concepts students are confused with. However, I guess students take his story as just a story. If you listen carefully, you will learn unforgettabl concise chemisty concept.

Professor Soloff is the best professor I have had in a while. He is funny and really tries to teach students. He cares about his class and students . Office hours are very very helpful and he tells you what's going to be on the exams. Would take him a thousand times.

Best science teacher I have ever had. Teaches with ease, and makes everything easy to understand. Tells lots of jokes and funny stories. You feel comfortable going to him during office hours with questions. Tests are straightforward, no tricks. HW is online (70% to get credit). Read the book, and take notes! For Chem 60, 10/10 recommend! :)

He is the best! His lectures were amazing. He was very clear and to the point. I was never bored and he made class really fun. His stories are very funny and entertaining. He made labs easy too. Always looked forward to his class. Just make sure you do all the work. I wish he was teaching 101. DEFINITELY would take again 100%.

I had an awesome time taking this professors class. If you want to get a good grade in this class just pay attention and ask questions you may have when they pop up. As long as you ask for clarification you will get a good grade. And as a student, it's your job to ask for clarification if you need it. He curves test grades which is really awesome! I never got a test grade lower than 96%

Extremely easy class. Honestly, the only reason why anyone wouldn't pass is because they were lazy. Professor Soloff breaks down the material and his tests are easy. His tests are 90% his notes/lecture. If you took Chemistry in high school, then this class is a piece of cake. He's very entertaining and funny too

He is a great teacher and is really funny. He makes lectures go by fast with his stories, and most of the notes he gives is basically the exam. He does everything in his power to make the class easy for the students, the rest is up to you. Study the notes from class and it will be easy. I highly recommend taking him.

he made lectures interesting by telling stories about his life, he definitely has a sense of humor that those easily offended would take too seriously. his lectures and notes are pretty much exactly the test, nothing shocking or unexpected. would definitely take him again hes definitely the go to.

He makes you work for your grade but also only teaches things that you need and gives great ways to remember the information. He is funny but if you are easily offended you might not think so. He is always available in his office hours if you need help or if you just want to hang out. His labs are also simple if you follow the instructions.

Simple, If what really matters to you is the grade TAKE HIM! If you want over-the-top details and explanations Don't take him. He is approachable for questions and cares about his students passing. Hang in there! THANK GOD FOR HIM!

gives extra credit HW and extra credit on tests,he also drops an exam(there are only 4 exams, not counting the final).Your ONLY tested on material taught in class (tests aren't hard).He additionally provides a review day before exam. He explains the material very well (i basically only studied night before tests and got strait A's on his exams)

I took Professor Soloffs class a few semesters ago. Chemistry was always a struggle for me before, but he really broke things down in an understandable way. What I learned in his class set me up for success in my other Chemistry classes. Im always looking at notes from this class. Hes a funny guy too.

The only thing you really need to know before you take this class is that it's easy, as long as you pay attention to lectures and don't fall behind. The tests are exactly the same as what's covered in class. Soloff does mess up a lot while solving problems but other than that he's fairly easy going. Just pay attention to him and you'll get an A.

I dont understand whats the hate because Professor Soloff is the best chemistry professor Ive had so far. I had to take the same class twice before with 2 other profs and couldnt pass. But with Soloff, there are never any surprises, he tests you on exactly what he teaches and broke down chem so easily it still helps me in the upper chem classes
