easy tests, although hard to understand her english
Had difficulty understanding her verbally and her teaching techniques were not so helpful.
I liked Lena's class very much. I think that she is very helful and her explinations are very clear. She makes a lot of effort to teach and is very patient. Go Lena!
hard to understand her English, and decides to skip steps and confuse everyone. DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER
her lectures are very heard to understand and how she teach the material is also hard to understand, she skips many steps, hw is turned in every day
Hard to understand her English. Very lazy, always asks if it's really necessary to show something on the board and makes students do it most of the time.
For the kind of "teaching" that she does, you may as well go home and teach yourself from the book. She continually assumes that you can understand what she is talking about.
Very hard class, hw due everyday. Hard to understand sometimes, if you have questions about a problem, she will ask someone else to do it on the board; very lazy.
Very nice, helpful. Become friends with her and she may pass u either way. Kind of hard if u suck at math though.
English is hard to understand. Notes are pretty understandable but sometimes she did not do enough examples unless she was asked, so speak up! Tests are ok just do the homework!
mrs. feinmann is a very easy teacher if you just go to class everyday and turn in your homework you'll do just fine. she's also really nice and if you get along with her she might just pass you. oh and her projects are a piece of cake.
She is a consistent teacher who is prepared for class and answers homework questions prior to collecting them. AND HER ENGLISH IS NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND!!
Great teaching skills, shows a lot of unique tricks to help you understand and solve problems. She is helpful and answers any questions. A syllabus is given at the begining of the course of all the assignments, their due dates, quiz dates and tests, there is absolutly no reason you couldnt pass.
There is a lot to say about her.. A lot of good things. She is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Her hwrks are easy, she gives u a review sheet before the test and its exactly the same thing just different numbers. Even though u have to participate in class its still cool. You learn a lot. Easy A. She is nice, patient and understanding.
didnt like her...felt i was learning a new language with her. went fast, no eye contact, bables on, HW due everyday. although it was a summer class so it is supposed to be faster paced. overall=one thumb down.

**** i hate coming to this class its completly boring an well hella sux! cant understand**** she says! but yea **** i hate math!
Nice lady but her teaching skills are not good. When writing examples on the board she goes way too fast and all the students are left way behind. She does let us out early every class which can be cool but if you are not good at Math you need all of the practice and help you are paying for. Math 110 = another teacher.
Took her over the summer - in spite of short term, learned a lot from her. Has an accent which some students found difficult to understand, but it's not really a problem b/c she writes it out on the board. Very knowledgeable, thorough, and consistent. If you do the homework, exam reviews, & extra credits, you'll do well in the class.
She is a very nice teacher and extremely understanding. She knows her suject well. Homework is due everyday, but if you are a day or so late..you still get full credit. Highly recommend.
DO NOT TAKE. i took her during the summer and it was the worst. she's hard to understand, sloppy, puts people on the spot, and is very strict about homework. if someone has a question, she just picks a random student (if no volunteers) and tells them to do it. she's a tough one.
Lena warned the class that this subject is VERY intense (covering three sections a day with a test each week meets my definition of intense). I hope to emulate her teaching style. She asked who wanted to do a problem on the board and saw me shaking my head. So naturally, she picked me! (any good teacher would do the same, I needed conficence)
worst class ever!!!! she is easy in the way she will give you credit for anything but never really what you deserve. she low balls you in points if she hates you she teaches through the computer and the tests are on paper and most people dont know how to do the stats with out fathom. she has a thick ass accent.
She is absolutely amazing! The class may be on the normal-hard side, but that's where homework comes in handy. You will be successful in this class if you completely understand the homework. Try to do problems and memorize some of the formulas crucial to Calculus. Highly recommended and puts each student on the 5 unit spot (lol).
SHES AN ANGEL.. i loved her. very clear and wonderful.. everyone take her as a teacher. she is great! she explains everything clearly and is very nice. u do your hw and pass the tests, you will pass the class! i loved it
She is one of the nicest teachers I have ever taken. She gives TONS of partial credit on quizzes and tests. If you just try your attempt somewhat looks like the technique to do the problem you'll get 1/3 of the credit for that problem.
She's usually smiling and very humble. English not being her first language can get in the way of understanding what she means on her Lab Assignment problems. She's very helpful, asks you to call or e-mail her if you're having trouble. Attendence is not mandatory, but if you don't go, you're kind of f-ked. Makes math both fun and challenging.
Very clear. The class is hard, but she makes sure you know how to do everything.
so i took the class that had the fathom books and the computers. i spent most of the time playing games on the internet. but overall...the class is okay, shes kinda hard to understand, but just look at the examples, and its a breeze...and pick a good partner for the one project, or else your screwed!!!
Math 251 from hell. She knows her subject well enough but her teaching ability is god awful- practically not there. She blazes through explanations in class notes, has STUDENTS answer homework questions- and if they don't explain answers at all she doesn't either. Horrible. Avoid her if you can- seriously, check out Canada or Skyline. BEWARE
Everyone knows Calculus isn't easy, now try taking it in the SUMMER. Ms. Feinman makes this intense course feel like a breeze. She clarifies everything her students don't understand. If you like to go up to the board and work out a problem then this and any class taught by Ms. Feinman is just for you (you get extra credit). Challenging but helpful.
She is great. I don't know why so many students don't like her. Math is not easy and they blame their incompetence on the teacher. She is friendly and very flexible towards Homework, but peace of advice... do your homework on time, everytime. Unfortunately, Math takes lots practice. If you can't do that, don't take any math class, and don't go to s

Unfortunately,Math takes lots practice. If you can't do that, don't take any math class, and don't go to school.
Her tests are extremely hard. Even tutors in the math lab can't solve some of her test problems! If you are an A+ student, you should be prepared to receive a B in her class. If you are a B or C student, don't take her class!
Lots of homework and other assignments! Dozens of quizzes and 5 tests! If you are ready to study for at least 4 hours a day for her class, you will pass the class. Good Luck!

The best! She really wants students to succeed. Is helpful, gives tons of partial credit and lots of opportunity to improve your grade. Always smiling. She is tough. You must work hard. Also, she does not allow calculators, ever. She will get you through if you put in the effort.
Best teacher ever! Calculus should be hard for all the lazy complainers who speak ill of her. She gives up her spare time to help students and is the only CSM Proffessor as of yet to prepare me for University level learning. She really cares about her students and is extremly generous if you show effort. A+
A lot of work, but if you keep up with the homework you will learn alot. tests are easy if you were prepared, most of the time. For some it may be a challenge but its worth while because she prepares you for university and for life. Cares deeply about her students. No calculators allowed, but at the end of the semester you will feel smarter.
Professor Feinman really cares about her students sucess, and all you whiners need to put more effort into your schoolwork, for she grades you in REAL TIME, not fantasy about how smart you may think you are. I could not have put more effort in to my class than I did, so whatever grade I get--I know I did my best--and that's my grade. Accept it!
Professor Feinman is an awesome instructor who cares about her students--I like her very much...
I really liked her. Cares about her students, easy A but alot of work.
Do your homework and be prepared for Labs,Labs, Labs! She cares. She is good. She works really hard and is FAIR.
Mixed bag. Demanding but helpful. Tough but you learn. Tests are long and frequent. No calculators so you must memorized EVERYTHING. Nice but with a slightly vicous side. Lots of homework but it reinforces. Prepare to give up your life if you take her course. On the plus side: compassionate, tons of partial credit and hints during the exams.
I work full time and tried to take this class (meets 5 times a week at 8am), but the workload is way too much. Homework is due everyday and quizzes once a week. If you are a full time student, great! But if you work, be prepared not to have a life.
I think this class isnt that bad. Sure, theres so much homework, but students actually learn from it. She's a helpful teacher, I asked her for help a couple of times. The only thing that I don't like about her is her accent. It's very hard to understand the lecture when her heavy Russian accent gets in the way.
She's actually a really nice teacher, but her class is pretty hard. and she goes through the materials really fast.
Best math teacher at CSM. She's always helpful, her expectations are clear, and she's a fair grader. Very nice person in general.
Prof. Feinman has been one of the few professors I have encountered who actually truly care about their students success. Her class is not easy and requires hard work, but she goes the extra mile to ensure everyone is understanding the material. I would recommend her to anyone who is afraid of math because she explains everything very well!!
She's the best! I still don't like math but she is so helpful. Take her and you will do fine.
Speaks with a thick Ukraine accent. Treats her students like children regardless of their age. I am going on 30 and she would get on my case about using restroom, and she doesn't let people leave early, EVER! Somehow I pulled off a solid A but I feel that I taught myself most of the material. She DOES care about her students.
I took her Trig class over the summer. tough class, good amount of hw and legit tests but she's really nice and truly cares about her students. I got a solid A but her tests were legit. However she's very willing to help all the time!
Extremely caring about her students learning. Will not make it easy for you just for a good grade. If you fail and learn rather than coast and pass, she would rather have that. Lots of homework, challenging tests and fast paced lectures. Definitely going to take up a fat chunk of your life, but you will know the sh*t out of math if you keep up.
Took her hybrid class (online and on-campus meeting once every few weeks). Im sure she is a good teacher but not for hybrid courses. You expect clarity and lines of communication. She didn't respond to my emails or questions in a timely manner. Lots of errors in her notes and discussions and was too vague on what she expected. No for online/hybrid
tough class. lots of homework. challenging exams, although she grades very fairly and gives lots of partial credit. shes very friendly and seems to truly care about her students.
Took it over summer. Doable, but not an easy A.Thick accent Class is all powerpoints, she checks notes at the end of the week.Alot of homework every night, weekly quizzes, very hard final. Most ppl get As or Bs tho.Shes funny and really cares about her students!Hated her at first but grew to love her!Brought us cookies during the final.Take her!!!!!
Feinmann seems to care about her students success and tries to help them succeed. However the online class was very difficult. The school provided text was very confusing and contained many errors. The online tests also contained many errors in the answer key, very frustrating. Overall the class is a difficult one, but an A is possible with work.
She is the best teacher I've ever had, hands down. Truly, truly cares about your success. If you put a lot of effort in memorizing and getting the logic, you will easily pass for an A in her class as the tests questions are reasonable. You will also find it helpful in the end that you weren't allowed to use a calculator.
Ms. Feinman is a great teacher and person because she is so dedicated but her class is very hard. You have to do all your work and be prepared to take a good amount of time out of your day in order to do well in her class. I also took geometry with her and it was not easy at all. I ended up getting a B despite spending many hours on the clas.
Great teacher with a background from Ukraine I believe. Not only has a great understanding of her subject matter - calculus, but also of the shortcomings that are inherent in students at csm. She is invested in repairing the flaws of poor study habits and apathy while maintaining a strict curriculum. She should be the head of the math department.
Does not respond in a timely manner, and if the professor does respond, it is without any interest in helping.
Just a below average math teacher. Unclear when she speaks because of her accent. Rarely goes over hw problem thus leaving class confused. Lectures briefly and expects you to understand the topic. Quizzes and tests are unfair, it's a differentials class, not Calc 2. She puts the hardest integrals, isn't knowing the techniques more important? Lame.
GREAT TEACHER! Explanations are clear and she is always willing to help students who are struggling. She really cares about her students, and her tests and quizzes are very fair. She supplies many tools to do well. As long as you do your homework, you'll be fine.
Ms. Feinman is a wonderful instructor!!! It is true that statistics is a hard course and you have to spend hours doing your homework. Ms. Feinman has always been available during her office hours and her study sessions were great.Every time I had a question, Ms. Feinman always responded in timely manner. I would recommend her to all my friends!
Her accent is kind of hard to understand when meeting in class. This class was easier than I expected
Best teacher ever! I thought I was going to hate stats so I took it online in summer and I ended up loving it! She was always willing to help and gave a lot partial credit if you just turned in your work. She really cares about her students and responds to all emails in a timely manner. I highly recommend Mrs. Feinmann for statistics!
I would take class from her again without a doubt. She truly wants her students to do well and strives to set up her students for success. She will explain the problems until you understand. She is very detailed in teaching concepts. She does have an accent and some may find this distracting - but I did not. Highly recommend Lena Feinman.
She's always around the math resource center if you ever need help and that's how I was able to do well in the class, by spending more time doing DEQ with her. She's tough but she really cares and does everything to help her students do well on her quizzes exams and always posts a study guide that not much professors do nowadays.
She was a great teacher, this was my third time taking Calc 1, she is helpful in the way that if you ask she is. willing to help you right there on the spot. The homework was the easist part of the class. Tests you need to study. Her accent is russian and thaat is sometimes hard to understand. She makes it easier if you participate in class.
I took Ms. Feinman's Math 811 "Arithmetic Review" class this semester. Most of the material was stuff I had learned in previous years so it wasn't totally difficult. Whenever I didn't understand a concept, she explained it well enough so I understood. She gave either a test or quiz every Friday, which actually helped me remember the material.
Feinman is a nice lady shes a GOOD teacher i love her she wants students to succedd the course its hard u will have to study hard but as long as she sees u try hard and not giving up do ur homework online lisen to her respect her shes awesome! i didnt though i was going to pass but i did she has a great heart i deff recommend her if u put in work.
I am TERRIBLE at math, but taking Feinmann made things alot clearer for me. She was super nice, and really helps students by giving a ton of examples. Alot of homework and quizzes every week but I think that helped me learn material better and helped my grade. If your bad at math take her! She is really good and always is in the MRC.
Great teacher! Feinman is very helpful as long as you ask her for help and read the NOTES for the homework sections. The study guides for the math quizzes/tests are very helpful since it outlines everything on the test! I recommend her 100% to anyone whose taking STATS.
The textbook she uses could be a lot better. I took her class online and it blew my mind how available she was; I would get e-mails from her at 4am. Statistics is hard and she knows it. Make time for this class and be prepared for tons of homework and tests. If you put in effort then she will acknowlegde it.
Tough class. Hybrid & online was tough for me. Passed with solid B. Things I could have done better: consistent w/ tutoring(learning center), asked immediately when I didn't understand, & make connections in class. I placed in Math251 but this class isn't about being good at math, it's about working hard to fully understand it. Use BBCampus(books).
Arithmetic Review with Pre Algebra was the hardest class for me because I didn't understand the whole basics.
I loved Yelena
Feinmann was EXTREMELY helpful and nice! Since it was an online class, I was able to email her about any questions I had and she would respond super quickly. She also posts reviews on Youtube for the midterm and final which were really helpful! If you do the homework and ask for help when needed, it won't be hard to pass :)
She is always willing to help! She has a strong background in math and she really knows what she's talking about. If you want help she is more than willing to help you understand. one of the best things she does is offer extra creidit to people to do problems on the board! I Mean how great is that! get your butt up and solve a problem! take her!!!!
Stats- lots of homework, be prepared to have at least 5-8 assignments due a week. Her tests are hard, and there are a lot of them. Very hard to understand her, wouldn't recommend if you have difficulty with stats as she is not very helpful, I had to teach myself almost everything. Lectures are boring, and classwork every day sucks.
She reads off the slides for lectures. Very hard to understand, and often mumbles a lot too. Very homework heavy class. I have to teach myself because I don't understand what she says in class. She treats her students like high schoolers. She also makes us do busy work when there is a lot of time left, and yells at us if we try to leave early.
My first (MATH115) and last (MATH275) math teacher. Best teacher I have ever had. Class is extremely difficult, but she will work as hard as you do to make sure you pass the class. Lectures are mostly going over difficult homework problems, (30min) about the chapter (from textbook) then practice problems (for a 90 min class). A lot of help
I always end up sleepy going to her class the lecture is pointless and I had a hard time with her accent. I suggest to just read her slide lecture online and study on your own. Classwork, hw & going to class really doesn't matter as long as you do well on the test/quizzes. But she is a nice lady and does care about her students.
She assigns a lot of hw because it is a big percentage of the grade, but it's great practice for the test, &is the equivalence of studying. If you understand the hw, tests will be easy. She loves helping her students. Come to class and be respectful. All you need is a $6 graphing online program, textbook can b read online, no expensive calculator.
I am taking her online class. As someone who has done well in math so far, her class is by far the most challenging. There are many links you have to open just to get to learn how to do one problem. When I email her for help she always tells me she does not understand what I am saying.
Best math professor I have ever had. Would recommend her classes if you care about math or must succeed in science, eng, etc. If you just want math for GE reqs then find easier profs. She works extremely hard and cares about student success. Other profs are lazy and make excuses, etc. Tough material but very fair and transparent.
Deposit all the notes she gives you on Canvas into a Google Drive folder. When taking notes, scroll down to the bottom, where the summary is - take notes on that. Her PowerPoints are useless, she mumbles a lot (if you want to hear her, you'll need to be sitting right in front of her). Lots of self-studying ahead. Read the notes before class. GL.
She has a very heavy accent. It was really difficult trying to understand her during lecture. The only way I passed this class was with the help of my classmates and the SI sessions with Anson. Tests are difficult and count for a big part of your grade. She leaves hw for every class. Shes very caring and will do her part of you do yours.
Mrs. Feinman is unclear and spends way too much time preaching to the 17-year-olds that don't take school seriously about not being late and making arrangements with her if they miss class, to the point that she doesn't even teach her lessons. Let them fail, that's how I learned and teach what needs to be covered. I learn more from the book!
I truly enjoyed having Professor Feinmann as my statistics teacher. She is one of the sweetest teachers I've come across at CSM. She does give a lot of homework, but it is fairly easy and balances your grade with tests. The class is half lecture while the other half is classwork. She genuinely cares about her students, and it really does show.
I regret ever taking this class complete waste of time, I have to retake it with someone else this fall. Like some mentioned she talks way to much gets off topic too much leaving not enough time for class work, doesnt explain well, lots of homework including some stupid program called fathom the final had 3 insane parts, dont take this class
SHE IS A WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!! WORST!!!!!!
Awesome professor! Cares about her students and really wants the best for them. Downside is that she gets off topic a lot. Lots of homework but doing the homework really helps for the quizzes and exams. She reviews before every exam and goes over what will be on them. Fathom can get frustrating but you do what you have to do to get a good grade.
In a 2 hour course, class doesn't actually start until 45 minutes in because of "life" lectures and tangents. Then the rest of class is rushed with PPT and busy work. You have to do most of your learning outside of class. She will yell and laugh at you for questions and ask "what was so hard, didn't you read the textbook"
Almost no feedback for tests /quizze. Worst professor ever.
I took her stats class and oh boy the only way I passed her class was by reading the book and because she assigned an amazing SI tutor to our class. Her accent is very thick so sometimes I did not understand what she was saying. However, she's a very understanding professor and she helps you if you ask.
I hated her class, eventually I dropped it because of how tough it was. I made the mistake of taking her online, and oh boy was it tough. She requires you to use this cheap program called fathom files, very confusing to use. She purposely makes the class 1000x harder than what it should be. She assigns tons of homework thats only worth like 4%.
Professor Feinman is incredibly passionate about math, and cares about making the subject fun for her students. Although she assigns a lot of homework, quizzes, and tests, all of these help you understand the material better. By the end it might get exhausting, but an A is possible if you meet with her and put in the work.
Prof Feinman is my favorite professor at CSM. She's motherly and caring, and she's very helpful in office hours/after class. She goes through material quickly, but you'll do well if you pay attention and do the homework. She tells you what the questions on the quiz & test will be like, and grades very nicely. I learned a lot from her classes.
Get ready for homework. This class is difficult and there's a ton of work to go along with it. Homework heavy, quiz/test heavy. The good news is you can go over it a ton of times to make it stick. The bad news is, you have to spend that much more time working on it in order to make it stick. Not for the faint of heart.
ugh so much homework, swears shes students only class. tests are cumulative, a lot to remember. accent is super strong. spend first hour talking about random stuff. have to buy a software for the class... i couldnt get it so i failed all those tests. she cares about her students but not worth it, should be a better teacher out there. WOULDNT TAKE!!
Athough her class has a lot of assignments it worked for me because if you do bad on a test you can still save your grade. She is VERY helpful, very fast at replying to emails. She is a generous test grader. I wish I took her class before any other stats teacher. The program you need for class is only $5, would recommend her class, she's great.
Professor Feinman is a pretty great professor. She's kind, knowledgable, and forgiving. Just make sure you communicate with her ASAP whenever you encounter any difficulties. She does assign daily homework (at least for the summer online session) and has quizzes every week, but as long as you stay on top of work, you'll get a decent grade.
I'm currently in my second and last year of the Math major at UC school. Ms. Feinman was the last Math professor I took in CC. I can say with absolute confidence that her class, more than any other in lower division at CC, prepared me for the upper division Math courses. The logical thinking you get from her Math 268 class is invaluable. 10/10 Prof
overall decent class. does require $5 and Windows for the class to use the software Fathom. there is daily homework assigned due on Wed. and Sunday in Math200. there are study sessions provided by the TA the day before the test or midterm. she has a heavy accent so it can be difficult to understand.
Professor Feinman is probably the most forgiving, attentive, and dedicated educator I've had the opportunity of learning from. I'm a disabled vet and I was on and off meds, hospitalized numerous times, etc. I still passed this class and it's mostly thanks to her understanding as an instructor. Lots of homework. If you're a hard worker you'll pass.
I had professor Feinman in the summer of 2019 for calculus 1, and she was an outstanding instructor. Although we covered a great deal of material in a very short span of time, her lectures were fantastic, and she was always a huge help in office hours. If you put in the time, she will help you be successful in her class! 10/10 stars :)
Simply not a good teacher. Her lectures are very monotonous and not helpful, so you'll probably need to read and study on your own a lot. Spends a lot of class time on useless things like taking attendance for 15 minutes or making not funny jokes. There are also a lot of tests that very often include problems that were never discussed before.
Shes a good teacher but gives a lot work. Its okay if you dont have alot of work from other classes.
Her class is absolutely hard, lots of homework and difficult quizzes, but she is always there to support her students with office hours, getting back with her material taught if you don't get it. she is very kind and understandable teacher if you miss out an assignment . Her grading criteria is clear. absolutely great teacher.
feinman is a nice person who always tries to get you to understand the concepts. there is a lot of hw and lecture notes, but the tests are alright.
I took/am taking stats with Ms. Feinman and believe that she is a great professor and grades very well. What you put in is what you get out. She is very kind and responds outside of class hours and over weekends making it very easy to clear up an issue that might occur or any questions you might have.
One of the best math profs at CSM. Lectures were fast but it comes with the course cause of how much material there is. She notices the students who put in the effort. The assessments are much harder than homework so extra practice is recommended but she says what type of problems will be on the assessments. Overall a very tough but great prof!
I'm glad I took her class. She encouraged me when I lost confidence in my mathematical ability and answered my questions very patiently, which made me feel confident and improved my grades step by step. It's my pleasure to be her student.
Hands down the best professor I have ever had. I wish she would teach all of my math courses. Lectures are very organized, office hours are super helpful. I have never had a professor who responds to emails as fast as professor Feinman. I would literally have fast conversations with her over email about solving problems. Ask her for help!!!!
Online, lots of daily assignments, what do you expect for a 6weeks=semester? Always helpful, responds right away, leaves comments for your mistakes. Will accommodate you if you really need the tests time changed. Accent? Really? It's CA, USA, melting pot. Not worse than an Indian accent. Take an online class, communicate in writing. I liked her.
Amazing math professor ever. She truly care about her students and easily able to be reach out. Although hw and tests are a little bit heavy, you can manage if you work hard. I truly recommend her if you're interested in calculus.
Professor Feinman is an amazing professor who really cares about her students. She gives you homework a lot and her tests may be challenging. But she is always eager to help you and ask you if you need help. Recommend her if you have good math background.
I love her. I wish I could take her for every math class. please go to her office hours if you are bad at math like me! i will never find a professor like her again. she cares so much for her students.
While I must complete 2 small assignments weekly, the Professor is a friendly and easy grader who ensures you'll pass as long as you participate in class discussions and demonstrate (in quizzes and exams) that you know the concepts. Mock quizzes (close to the real exams) and extra credits help improve your grades. V useful course.
She is a very responsible professor, she is focus on concept understanding and give very useful homework problem to practice. You can learn a lot. Sometimes she replied your email even in the midnight. But you have to work hard after classes, test is not easy and is not easy to get A. You have to work hard. She is the best professor. 10/10
Amazing class, learned a lot from taking the class. Replies to emails fairly fast and makes a lot of office hours. However, the exams and tests require a lot of understanding and might be tight on time if you are not the fastest worker. Review sheets are helpful but the test is not easy.
Took her 268 & 270 simultaneously, still did well despite both classes being tough. A's aren't easy to obtain, but B's are possible if you always go to her office hours. She answers any question you have, even if you struggle on basic concepts, and is very encouraging. As long as you reach out for help, she will always help you. Amazing professor!
Chill class, good professor and the material is pretty good. Would recommend.
The things I like about this professor is that she cares about students actually learning the material, she makes herself available via email, during class and office hours to answer questions and she's very flexible and understanding about when "life happens" if you're behind with homework. Not easy but she'll meet you where you're at if you try.
I have no idea why other students are saying that she is the best professor. She only teaches briefly simple one problem of the section and wants you to do the rest of section including a lot of complicated problems as a homework. No explanations. She does not care about the students. Also not very generous with the due date.
Sweetest professor ever. She cares about her students and wants to see them succeed, that's for sure. I've contacted her a couple of times outside of class through Pronto and she's responded every single time. Stats is tough, and there are definitely bad teachers, but she's not one of them.
During the lectures, she kind of struggles to explain what she is going over in a general sense such as what the formulas or definitions she is writing are used for and mean in the context of solving problems. This makes it difficult to apply what we learned to the homework. Used other resources such as online videos to fill in gaps.
Insane amounts of homework like 9 assignments per week plus readings and studying. Reading is very long winded about 15 pages a week with little substance. Homework is mostly uninteresting and busywork. Take an in-person class with a different professor.
Had her over the Summer so of course it was super fast paced. There's a decent amount of homework, but she accepts late work. Tests weren't too hard. She has practice exams due before the actual exam. If you can learn on your own (because it's just readings from a pdf every week) then her asynchronous class isn't a bad option.
she does not grade. everybody in my class has only a few things graded (maybe ~14 assignments graded from the 60+ we've had so far), and we are heading towards finals season.
Very hard teacher. Her quizzes and tests are way too hard and no integral sheets, no calculator, so old fashion. I know many people say she's an amazing teacher. That was last year. Since then she hasn't taken on so many responsibility that she's too busy to care about students. Often open lecture with a story 10 years ago that last 30 minutes.
I would say that if you simply respect her, this will be a great class. Her homework is reasonable, even broken into sections so when you retake them due to a low score it is easier to correct. If you openly communicate why you are absent, late, or do not turn in work she is understanding. Students who openly disrespect her do not do great.
Professor Feinman is a great instructor who ensures you learn the concepts. Lots of weekly assignments, but she's always available to help. I found unstuck ai and the practice quizzes really useful for staying on top of the material.
She's an excellent professor. She cares about her students and she's invaluable. There's hw every day but with the lectures you take in class, they should be beneficial. She had office hours almost every day. As long as you are doing your work and paying attention in class you should be fine and pass the class.
She's the best professor I've taken so far. HW is hard at first but they help you a lot to be familiarized with the material. She truly cares about her students learning and makes sure you come out of that class knowing calc without a choice. Please take her if you can, her classes are never boring and she's the best.
Professor Feinman is the best calc professor! She ensures you understand the material, no matter what. Her experience shines in how she supports students. I struggled due to external reasons and felt unprepared for the final, but she made sure I understood and passed. She genuinely wants her students to succeed. 10/10 recommend her for MATH251!
she is an amazing prof for math200: caring, hilarious, great professor. she cares a lot for her students, if you don't understand something then she will explain it to you as many times as you need. also, this class was understandable and easy with her lectures + PowerPoints. the lectures were structured well and material was explained well.
she was my foundation professor for my honors class. she cared a lot for my well-being during our meetings, always checking in. she also was understanding and kind when my project progress was slow-paced. she is definitely the most caring prof: she worked with me to help me succeed. I am truly grateful that I had her as a professor at CSM.
She is the worst professor at CSM. Tons of HW. Final exam counts for 35% of your score, and your grade could drop from an A to a C or even lower. She takes up to 2 months to grade assignments, and when she does, the feedback is often vague, unhelpful, or nonexistent. There's no support or encouragement. This class is more focused on your failures.
Professor Feinman explains concepts clearly and makes sure students understand the material. The class is homework-heavy. She has a Ukrainian accent, which can be a little hard to understand at first, but you get used to it quickly. Overall, a well-rounded and knowledgeable professor who cares about student learning.
Worst math professor ever. Extremely biased towards certain students, will repeatedly pick on the same kids and pay close attention to them. Makes comments about you, makes statements like "I see the same things you see" even when you are doing work because she's quick to accuse you. Semester is almost over and she has barely graded anything.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. She gives so much homework and has no consideration for your life outside of her class. Posts assignments late at night at around 10pm-11pm that are due the same night at 11:59pm, and still makes a big fuss about late work. Terrible teacher.
Doesn't update grades after the first 2 months, mumbls, constant errors in tests...Overall class feels chaotic. Usually don't have time to get through anything. On the bright side, clear description of whats on tests and good practice problems, doesn't grade HW or CW so 100% if submitted, responds quickly to emails, an A is tough but doable.
