Extremely hard grader- grades homework on accuracy not completion, quizes weekly, 4 exams over a quarter. gives partial credit on homework and exams- She's anal about heading and "stapled" homework (I got a zero on an assignment cause i finished it in her office that morning and could not staple it)

She is a very good teacher. She teaches new material quick so you would need to keep up with the material but she explains it very well till everyone gets it. She gives lots of quizzes and for her testes she gives you study guides to study for that practically contain all the questions on her test.

She is a good teacher, although she has lots of hw but that is going to help you in the exam and quiz. She grade very easy, you dont need to worry to fail her class because you never failed if you do your hw, beside she will give you a chance if you failed the exam or quiz.

She is a great teacher and will always slow down if the class doesnt understand something. Practice tests help out a lot of exams. Do your homework cause its good practice for her quizzes, really nice lady, will do anything to help.

Even when I only had her class for the first three weeks of skool but it was great.Herlecture is incrediblly clear. You don't have to study to hard to get an A. Pay attetion during the class time. Gurantee at least a B

She is a really nice lady and a good teacher. She cares about you doing well and is very helpful. Although the class itself is very difficult, Lenore makes it managable. Try and take this class everyday not just two days a week, it's good to be able to clarify things everyday. It is so nice to have a math teacher who seems to care about her job.

this teacher is really helpful. stats isn't easy, but she teaches clearly & really helps you learn the stuff. the work isn't hard, it's simply whatever she covers in class. she is a little fast-paced for the 2-day/week class, but all you have to do is keep reading over the material. she's very helpful, you cannot find a better stats teacher.

ok here's a piece of advice: if you dont ace the first 2 quizzes in her class, DROP IT! stats is a class that starts out easy but gets harder over time. she is a GREAT teacher but if you just dont work hard when u have to, ur not gonna survive! she gives easy quizzes, easy exams, explains hw questions thoroughly. fun class, easy A. This class is different from any math i have ever done. I always think i am doing bad but i end up getting A's on the test, so i guess that's a good thing? i'd say my experience in here was pretty kookookachoo but it is probably the best stat class on campus.

explains every topic clearly and is very helpful, but she makes write out all equations and learn how to do them rather than using the calc. for majority of the course and then at the end she starts to use the calc. more

This teacher is really sweet helpful and understanding. Whenever I needed help on anything she had no problem taking time out of her busy schedule to help me. Many people dropped the class after a week because they thought she was going 2 fast teaching the material. However, in the end she slows way down! My advice is stick it out or u'll miss out!

I took a class with Mz. Desilets last quarter in Poisson distributions and neural networks. Awesomeness! She is the nicest instructor I have ever had, and she seems genuinely interested in her students doing well. If you put in the time, you will enjoy the class and material very much.

Ms. Desilets is a good teacher. She really cares about her students and is very helpful. You still need to work hard though no matter which teacher you choose. If we were good at math we wouldn't be in 114. I recommend Desilets cause she grades easier than most. You can get points for heading in the right direction!

I'm currently taking her for Stat 10. She's a good instructor. Her quizzes and tests are just like the examples she uses in class just reworded using different numbers. If you study the examples in class it's an easy A on the quizzes and tests.

I took this course online. She was very understanding when something came up and I couldn't make it to an exam. Most of the things on the quizzes and exams are from the homework examples. There is no homework turned in but you have to take quizzes and you can take a quiz 2-3 times for a higher score. Great class.

Great class. Her quizzes & exams are like the examples she gives in class just with different numbers. She makes sure the class gets it & even persuaded many to join tutoring. I am terrible at math but she was very understanding to my problems and helped me alot! I can usually barely pass a math class and I actually got a B+ in her class. She is a bit scatter-brained at times, but most math teachers are, so you can't blame her. All around I would recommend taking her whether you're good or bad at math.

She is willing to teach, clear in lectures, kind to help! Ms. D always finds ways to help you understand lessons. If you cooperate with her (do your homework, ask questions to her/friends/tutors, pay attention to her explanation in class - fulfill your duty), it's great to take her as your statistic professor.

She makes sure students understand material, rather than just lecture at the class and throw material out. Willing to help in any way she can, and sometimes kinda funny. Homework is optional but of course helps. After the first exam, notes can be used for tests and quizzes. So pay attention, take good notes, and you'll do fine.

I took her online course. It's ALL based off the online service, Math Zone. She's well organized, and communicates through email effectively. Although test dates were not flexible. It's a lot of independent learning too. Only take the online course if you're familiar with Math & have flexible schedule!

She is a very helpful professor. She allowed notes and open book on quizzes and midterms (except the first midterm). Although you don't have to turn in hw the midterms and quizzes are based on it so DO IT. Her lectures are very clear and organized. Highly recommend!!

I was extremely scared to take Stats but needed to so I could transfer. Decided to take her and was glad I did. She adapts her teaching style to her students needs and lets you use notes on all quizzes and tests after the first test. Highly recommended! Ive heard many horror stories about other stats teachers. She is a basket case... she is an ok teacher, but i literally had to teach myself everytything from MML which is very helpful in this class. I passed because i had to see a tutor a lot! She started out good in the begining but she just let her life problems get the best of her. very nice though

AND SHE GIVES LOTS AND LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT! For the math 10 class, each test (even the final) i was able to use my notes.

Class is++very overstuffed. I took this class even I had a SFSU waiver ELMT test-passed. Got D+;Desilets suggested me I had a learning disability. She never knew I had ELMT passed,currently enrolled for Fall 12. I took MATH 212 and 114 with her using ALEKS. I found her helpful and she made math easy for me to understand. She showed me that she cares about her students. I would highly recommend taking her and ALEKS.

If you like working at your own pace through ALEKS for 114 or 212, this is the class for you! Yes, you do have to put a lot of hours outside of class, but it's a smooth ride. Professor D. is fabulous and will go out of her away to accommodate your needs. Plus, you can finish the class early. Highly recommend ALEKS and esp. Professor D:)

The teaching style is very different than most teachers, you honestly get what you put into the class. You can't BS your way through the quarter, she can tell who is working hard and who isn't. I was weary about taking this self paced class. I really enjoyed the class. You MUST put in the work! The tutor Andy is amazing! Ms.D's right hand man! I loved how encouraging they both are! It was sad to see the students who were not disciplined, fall behind, than become angry that they didn't pass. Do work don't complain! The help was there!!

Ms. D is seriously the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. This class is definitely not something you can just sleep your way through. However, she teaches so well that getting a good grade is very doable. She's also very nice and her humor is great.

This was my first quarter and I have never taken Stats during hs. I thought I was going to fail but thanks to the helpfulness from Ms. D, I received a B in her class. You need to pay attention to her daily lectures because she gives quizzes almost every week. Definitely put all your effort in this class if you want a B and up.

Statistics is a difficult course! Although, you have this great professor to help you understand the concepts of stats. Read the textbook, pay attention in class, do all homework and you will pass this class! I highly recommend this professor except she has a high demand of students wanting to take her class.

The class consists 9 quizzes (Although she gives more, takes the 9 best) 3 tests and a final. All tests and quizzes OPEN NOTE after first test. There are 3 group projects (basically hw assignments) and one short 3-5 min presentation. She does not collect HW and has an free online textbook so you don't need to buy one. Take this class

ALECK is not the instructor. its an online website she uses. She is the most helpful professor on this campus and you NEED to take her. the reason others found it so hard was because they did not dedicate time to the class. She has many tutoring sessions and she always has office hours to help you out. She quickly responds to emails as well.

Ms. D is the best instructor I've had at De Anza. I took her for Math 10 (Statistics), and with all of her help I was able to get an A. It is not an easy class, but she makes herself more available than any professor I've had, and genuinely cares about her students succeeding. Honestly, this class is very easy, you will have so many many many chances to retest. Before each exam you are supposed to do 3 summary papers and 1 quiz. Quizzes are easy if u take her mini lectures. The lectures on video r easy to understand. She is nice and funny but one thing I agree that the class is unorganized

The course is not easy, but she gives people an easy way to approach, which is a very good thing you should know. Your score reflect your efforts. She is very nice and willing to help as long as you are willing to learn. If you want to learn something helpful and applying for stas, take her. Trust me, I had my experience in other stas classes

She's a very good professor and really wants everyone to pass. Her exams and quizzes are open note after the 1st exam, but you definitely should still study. Good at explaining things. If I had worked just a BIT harder, I would have gotten an A :(

Super easy. I barely came to class, never took stats before, and still got A. Tip before exam is to summarise everything into your own note, bring it to class and literally copy everything as her tests are the same from her notes. Her notes are messy that's why. If someone did not do well, clearly that person doesn't know how to pick up study cue

This professor has had the biggest impact on me. I was never really good at math and I hated it, but with her help I was able to successfully pass her class. Put in the time and effort and she will meet you halfway. Even though she does not collect the homework, you should do it in order to further understand it and also time yourself!

It's safe to say that Ms. D was one of the best professors I've had at De Anza so far. Yes, the class requires ALOT of work and it is by no means an "Easy A" - but, it is very attainable given that you work hard. She has a great teaching approach and clearly cares about her students - she really wants you to do well. Just attend class and study!!

I took Stats 10 in Winter 2015. She has her own way to teach students and she taught us how to apply Stats in real world which helped on the advanced Stats class. She is always there for students, she wants to make sure that all of her students are doing fine in her class. Her class is not hard, if you pay attention to her lecture you'll be fine.

Ms. D is one of the most inspiringh Professor in De Anza. I hated math at first but was fascinated on how she teaches statistics. The class is pretty hard because there are very much concept that was covered. However, this shouldnt be a problem because after the first test, you will be given an open book for the rest of the quizzes ,exams + final

Mrs. D is a great teacher. Attendance is important. Daily homework. She offers open notes for some quizzes , but it was kind of rare. The most difficult part of the class was the projects. Have to work for the A, but she is very understanding and slows down when you need her to. Cares about the success of students.

Ms. D teaches in a different style than the usual and it will take a couple weeks to get used to. She knows her stuff and really wants all of her students to succeed and will help you in any way she can. She is truly a gem of a professor and you should take her.

Ms. D was one of my favorite teachers because she made things make sense especially when you ask her questions about what you didn't understand. She's really nice and cares a lot about her class. She will make you work for your A with online hw & quizzes, in-class notes, and reviewing everything at home if you're like me & find math difficult.

Ms. D is by far one of my move favorite math professors in De Anza. This is one of the professors that will make sure you get the material. Really be patient with her and try her out for yourself. She will not let you down if you give her a fair chance. Will be taking her Stats class next quarter.

I would say she is one of the best math professors at De Anza. Her lecture is very clear and impressive. She always uses some good examples which make us understand all the statistical concepts in a minute. If you really want to learn Statistics, her class is for you. Go to the class on time and take notes, you will receive what you deserve.

She is one of the best math teachers I have take at De Anza. She is one of the most patient and understanding teachers. If you do the work she assigns and come to class and really study outside of the classroom you will pass her class. If you respect her and listen to her while she is lecturing than you should have no problems!

Ms D is really knowledgeable. She is an expert in Stats and she has a different way to explain lessons which she thinks make sense the most to her students. There are 9 quizzes, 3 labs, 3 tests and 1 final. After the first test, everything will be open notes, open books. Everything based on lectures in class, so skip class and you will fall behind.

Wants students to understand what they are doing to some extent so not much memorization and open notes on everything after first midterms. Tries to get rid of hard math but more picky grading to compromise(label everything!!!) HW is optional and was only useful for a couple sections like probability imo. Lectures>Hw

I have NEVER gotten an A in a math class. I am the worst at math. This class started out a little rough for me, but she told me I could do it. She makes times before and after class to offer help and gives lots of extra credit on exams/quizzes. If you just put in some time to study and do practice problems, you'll get an A.

I absolutely hated math until I took this class! She really tries to get to know everyone and even offers feedback on what you need to improve on. Always asks the class for their opinion on whether she should move on/practice more. Her class is a fun environment + you get to know other students bc of her labs. There's always ec. on every quiz/test!

She is very caring & genuinely wants you to learn. Offers extra credit on almost all quizzes & exams. Quiz about every week, 3 exams & a final. Assigns plenty of homework, both from the textbook & an online website. As a working student, I would've wanted more time to complete homework assignments. Attendance is mandatory. Group work encouraged.

If you are willing to do the homework, this class will be an easy B or A for you I think. I was surprised that I got an A because I'm usually bad at math, but her office hours helped and she gives a lot of real life examples during class. There's some group work too but you pick your groups. Honestly if you can get an A in pre-calc you can ace this

It's easy to pass Ms. D's class if you listen and do her homework. She tells you EVERYTHING you need to pass. If the class if struggling, she will deliberately put easy questions or leave out sections of the textbook on exams. She gives a lot of extra credit on quizzes and exams, and will always meet with you outside of class if you need help.

Ms. D is a great professor. She can catch you off-guard with her directness. She is present and determined in her lectures. Come to class prepared! This isn't a class for slacking. It's to prepare us for future math courses. She assigns few but important book problems & uses an online homework portal. The exams were very fair. I'll miss her! :)

first quiz is not open book. every other quiz,test, and final is open book. lectures can get boring but desilets is really chill so its alright. group quizzes suck tho cuz if you get a bad partner then you would fail that :(

I really like Miss D. She tells you how it is and what she expects from you. I did what she said, spent an hour everyday doing problems. If you push HW of a day or two you'll be lost and overwhelmed very quickly. If you do the work and ask her questions it's an easy A.

It's my first year taking a class at De Anza since I'm a high schooler, she is one of the best teachers I had. She will help you with homework, have clear guidelines, and a lot of extra credit. For being online due to covid, she has a lot of office hours to help out with homework and any grading mistakes.

I've taken Ms. D both in class and online. She makes her exams quite easy and offers plenty of extra credit. She always asks the class for input on what she should do to make the class experience better. Offers a lot of office hours throughout the week and encourages students to ask questions. Overall, a great and receptive professor.

Ms. D is a very caring and honest professor. She will tell you up front what she expects. You have to put the work in to get the grade you want. Lots of group work so dont skip class because its part of your grade. Attend office hours. She is determined to help you succeed. Solid professor for online learning.

Ms. D truly tries her best to teach math in a crystal clear manner and will go out of her way to make sure that you understand everything by having plenty of office hour sessions and answering any questions you have. She is reasonable and will be upfront with what she expects of you, so always pay attention. Her online classes are very organized.
