He's great! His lectures are super interesting. He's laidback. He does give pop quizzes throughout the semester and that's how he tracks attendance so definitely go to class. All quizzes are from the textbook and as long as you skim you will do well. Final is literally verbatim from quizzes so keep the quizzes. Definitely recommend this class!

Professor Bannister is one of the greatest Professors @ UTSA; he makes it clear from day 1, his expectations for the course and is straight to the point. Intro to MHU with Bannister is an easy high letter grade, he truly cares about your sucesses and constantly attempts to help the class. Read the daily read, and you'll pass the class, easily.

Was such an energetic and motivating professor. Read the assigned readings before class because he gives easy quizzes over the readings at the beginning of class, easy 100's. For papers, don't just go off the prompt he provides, email him a rough draft and he will basically tell you what to change for a 90/100 on the paper. Gives extra credit!!

Professor Bannister is an amazing professor. His classes are based on student participation which make them way more interesting. There weren't any tests except the final which was easy. There are pop quizzes so make sure you read the material but they're easy. He's very understanding so talk to him if there's a problem.

Prof Bannister's lectures are so interesting, and they go by extremely fast! there are no tests through out the semester but a few essays that count as test grades, but they are on interesting topics, that aren't difficult to write about. Definitely would recommend taking this course!

He's very funny and the lectures are more psychological than anything else. We usually just talked about the topic and expressed how we felt towards it. A textbook is needed for the class but it is not difficult to read nor understand at all. Attendance is not mandatory but he will give out quizzes or small assignments in class from time to time.

Great professor, he actually has a passion for helping students. Going to class is very helpful because he randomly throws assignments and quizzes (they are super easy if you read). Gives out 4 papers with really challenging prompts that will break your head, however he'll help you out tons if you are struggling in constructing your argument.

Honestly Professor B, is super cool! Hes very understanding and is well versed in his knowledge on the medical humanities! I always looked forward to class, and hes very clear on his instructions so there was never any confusion! I HIGHLY recommend taking him!

Although you have to write two papers each week, they are only two pages long and double-spaced. Even though corona-virus made the ending of the semester packed and insane, Mr. Bannister was caring and understood the situation we were put in. One of the most caring and respectful professor I've had in a long time. Highly recommend for an A!!

Prof. B is by far one of the most understanding, and amazing professors I have had thus far. While there is quite a bit of homework per week, if you care committed and don't mind having longer readings, then this class is the one for you. Attaining an A is very doable! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS CLASS!!!!

Professor B easily made MHU2013 my favorite class of the semester. Taking this class in person allows you to learn so much by listening / participating in discussions of his personal experiences and relevant medical controversies. Book readings, quizzes,and papers are assigned but the material is so interesting! + It is totally possible to get an A

One of the best professors at UTSA. He actually cares about his students and their well being. His quizzes are easy if you read, his papers are easy to get an A on if you read the rubric and take his critiques from the preliminary paper. His lectures are thought provoking and interesting. If you take his class MWF, you won't ever meet on Fridays.

Clear expectations. Very fair. Lots of papers - 2 a week. Book is helpful. Quizzes are challenging. (Watch the wording) He knows his subject very well. Answers emails promptly. Would recommend him and would take a class from him again.

I loved his class it was very interesting, do not expect this to be easy, 2 weekly 2 page essays as well as weekly discussion post and quiz. Take this class, you won't regret it! Although it may seem like a lot of work it is manageable.

Professor Bannister's online INTRO TO MED HUMANITIES class was very well structured, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his students. The syllabus and the material are straight forward, there's 2 writing assignments, one quiz and one discussion post per week. The reading is interesting, so it's potentially an Easy A if you do everything.

Prof. Bannister is really nice, and his lectures are always interesting. You will need the book, but there is a PDF of it online. The class is made up of about 10 quizzes and 3 papers, and the final is made up of quiz questions (that he gives you after they're graded). Definitely take him!

Professor B is fantastic! He's very clear with what he expects throughout the semester and definitely is the type of professor that is willing to work with you. He gave 3 papers which were a bit hard but not impossible because you could basically write them how you feel is best. His lectures are pretty much talking all of class, but entertaining!

This class was very easy, there were quizzes and a 2-page paper ever week but as long as you read it won't be difficult at all. I had him during this weird time of COVID19 and he was so understanding about everything. would HIGHLY recommend taking him.

I enjoyed taking Professor Bannisters class. The workload may feel like a lot at first but if you are able to create and follow a schedule for yourself, you should be fine. Assigns interesting readings which made the essays simpler to write. Although class was already online, he was understanding of the stress COVID & other things may have caused.

He's VERY fair and will always answer your email. I learned SO SO much in his class. Honestly, one of the best professors at UTSA.

He is the most understanding & accommodating professors I have ever had, especially during the pandemic. The students give one presentation each throughout the semester, so we are teaching each other. Our grade consisted of 3 papers, 1 presentation and a final paper. My grade is due to me slacking, an A is very attainable.

Ive had this proffesor before, and he hasnt changed a bit. His classes are extremely enjoyable and though provoking. Assignments are fun in my opinion. Perfect proffesor for this subject. You wont regret taking a class with him. If you put in adequate effort you will get an A.

Very funny, inspirational, and caring teacher. Gives lessons that apply no matter what your degree is. Everyone should take this class. His classes are very entertaining.

The in-person lectures are the best part of this class. Dr. Bannister leads discussions that are relevant to college students and that make the whole class want to participate. He really respects his students' thoughts and time. Grading criteria for papers isn't clear, ask him what you need to get a good grade. The quizzes are the easiest grade.

Prof has super interesting lectures that make you want to go to class even though attendance isnt mandatory. When talking about moral issues Prof doesnt try to convince you of his own opinion, but simply educates you on all sides.

Absolutely my favorite professor. Makes you WANT to come to class even on bad days. Class is very easy if you pay attention. You just have asynchronous work on Fridays (usually quizzes) But very easy. Funny guy who makes lectures very fun to listen to. Understands if life gets in the way, just be open and honest with him and he will help you out.

By far one of the best professors I have had! Took him twice, for intro and seminar and will continue taking him for the internship course. His classes were structured great! He is so understanding. Funny and friendly! The weekly quizzes are easy if you take notes from the books, class, or whatever is assigned but it's the essays that will keep this from being an easy A (I'm looking at a B). He's has an idea of how he wants you to respond but isn't totally clear but, if you talk to him a lot you're more likely to find out. Would recommend!

Pretty simple: read before class, he discusses the reading in class, every now and then there will be quizzes over the reading but if you take notes over discussion you will pass. quizzes and exams are open note! lots of debating and open discussion but super fun class. random in class assignments. also 2-3 papers to write.

Very awesome teacher ! only gives quizzes for grades, but his quizzes are open note. Very understanding and engaging. His tests do include a written essay but they're usually not much of a burden. Very passionate about the subject and makes it very easy to understand despite the hard language. Would take again !
