Leo was by far my favorite teacher I've had in college. He knows what he's talking about and he knows how to keep the class interesting. I highly recommend him!

One of my favorite teachers so far. Really wants to see his students succeed, and guides them to an understanding by getting them to think in depth. All assignments were easy to understand and he always responds to messages.

He presented the content in an easy to understand way. He made us think and try to draw conclusions to our own questions when possible. He helped to make the class interesting and not just another boring class to attend. Highly suggest taking this class from him!!!

I loved this class ! Valverde made it very interesting and fun and it was easy to learn from him. He always started class on time and used the class time well. The way he teaches makes you think about deep questions.

Excellent professor. I listen to the words he says during his lectures, and I know I *should* be bored out of my skull, but his enthusiastic, interesting mannerisms and language actually make the class fun. Tough grader, but an excessive amount of extra credit opportunities make the class a real breeze.

I enjoyed World Religions with Professor Valverde. He was extremely energetic and informative with his lessons. He was also very respectful of all of the religions we discussed which I was very happy about. There isn't any homework besides reading and although the tests are pretty difficult he does post study guides that definitely help.

I expected this class to be mind numbingly boring, but his excitement to teach makes this class enjoyable. The tests are some what hard, but as long as you do the reading and use the study guides you should be fun.

Incredibly dynamic teacher, super engaging and informative. Makes material relative to students and in terms we can identify with and remember for tests. You can get by without the textbook unless you want to read ahead but being involved in his lectures are well worth the time spent reading. Highly encourage taking this class with this teacher.

His lectures are really interesting and he is always pretty funny. If you speak up, he will make you explain, so prepared to be put on the spot.

If you know up and take clear notes and do the study guides the class is easy and great. I didn't think this class was going to be fun but he makes it enjoyable. He makes a lot of references to 80s and early 90s stuff that none of us really get but it's chill. He's helpful if you have questions and a good teacher. 1010 would take again.

Prof. Valverde is by far the best college professor I have had. He made REL100 interesting, engaged his students in lectures, and really helped his students understand the main world religions on a fundamental level. He is hilarious and his love for teaching really shows! Show up to class, take notes, ask questions and have an open mind!

Extremely clear on what is expected. Put in the time and you'll do just fine. Tests are tough, however if you don't miss class and studyretain what you learn then you're golden. He's an EXCELLENT teacher, and VERY interactive. There's never a dull moment and I never found myself looking at the clock. I wish he taught all my classes to be honest.

Cool teacher. Procrastinators beware he does make you work for your grade so be prepare.

Took this class for credit, and I am so glad I did! Prof. V was an awesome teacher and I wish I could take this class again. I highly recommend him to any future students. His lectures are done a different way, but for a visual learner like myself, I was able to understand the complexity of world religions easily.

This class is an exact example of what a college class is supposed to be. It teaches life lessons. It teaches the rewards and consequences of actions. College is where people to go in order to further themselves. This class will do that and make you look deep down. Professor Valverde is the definition of a teacher.

Take notes teachers on campus, this is how its done! Mr V was an awesome teacher who made this class interesting and fun. He has a great understanding of what he is teaching and conveys the lessons very well. He gives you all the information you need to succeed. Good luck remembering it all.. Professor Valverde has got to be one of my favorite professors I've ever had. He is engaging, and you are guaranteed a laugh in each of his classes. However, just as much as you laugh, you learn. He does not do death by powerpoint, but be expected to participate in class. He will help anyway he can, and does a great job at reviewing for tests.

Great professor! Most people need a humanities credit of some sort and dread taking it because its dull and boring. If you take world religion with Pro. Valverde you will look forward to going to class and learn about religion in a fun interactive environment.

Lectures are class discussions (no powerpoint) and are very engaging. You are graded on participation so attendance is important. Dr. Valverde gives great insight into each religion rather than throwing a bunch of facts at you. Tough grader, but if you pay attention in class you will do well. No multiple choice on exams. He gives extra credit too.

LOVE the way he teaches! It's nice because it not just some boring powerpoint, he makes it really interactive. It'd be hard to fall asleep in this class because he is always moving around trying to get the students to participate which I thought was really nice. Overall I loved this class but he is a hard grader so much sure you REALLY study!!

He is one of few teachers that I won't might taking his class again. He doesn't do boring PowerPoint that you go to sleep. He is always moving and making his lectures fun. Don't bring food in the class because he will "make sure" it not poison lol. He is tough grader but he is great teacher. If you go to class everyday, you'll pass the class.

Leo is a great guy and really wants people to be passionate about religion. his test are difficult but will offer some extra credit which will make all the difference. great class and fun to go to, the only suggestion i would give is to at least pay attention when more than half of the class fails a test.

He will give you every answer you need to know, but you need to study and grasp the information or you will not pass the exams. Don't let that scare you away this was my favorite class and I struggled with it the whole way through.

Even though being labeled as 100 level class, it is a lot harder than expected. Very hard tests but gives the opportunity to get partial credit for missed questions. Take advantage of the extra credit opportunity. Very in depth lectures.

Prof. Valverde is a very animated professor. He goes over each religion after he has expected you to read it at home. He walks around during lecture and calls on random students to answer questions (so reading the textbook is a must). He gives serval extra credit opportunities and only bases your grade on exams/paper. No online submitting and hw.

Professor Valverde was probably the most interesting professor I have ever had, he is really good at making an entire class of taking notes, easy to pay a lot of attention to. He also is very good at making the lessons tie into life lessons that you could use in life. However he is a very hard grader, you really have to work for your grade.

Mr. Valverde is a pretty unique professor, not the type you'd expect to teach a world religions class. His lectures are really fun and he can draw really interesting parallels to make you understand the topics better. I couldn't imagine this class going any better.

He cherry-picks a lot. For example you may get whole grade lower if he doesn't like your format (even if very minor deviations from the standard). His instructions for the essays are not always clear. For example, he may ask you to describe a dog but take points away for not describing its house and who its owners are. Think outside the box.
