Overload of projects and assignments tests are hard yes
Too much work
Very informative on the subject. Come prepared because participation counts a ton towards your grade. The material is NOT hard, but it is a lot for a 6 week class. He wants you to analyze and UNDERSTAND the subject. Which is fine, it's not an easy A, but you will definitely learn a lot (how it should be).
Exams are hard and subjective He will assign many team cases
Professor Faifman is a very knowledgable individual who enjoys teaching and inspiring his students. I would most definitely take a class with him again.
Read chapters and make sure to get a head start on group projects. Tests are 100 questions long! But as long as you read the material it's not bad. He's a great professor who cares about his students. He wants to push you and is also a very fair grader.
Professor Faifman is a good teacher that pushes you because he wants you to learn and cares about his students. Make sure you read the chapters before class, participation is part of your grade. There are team presentations that you need to prepare ahead in order to do well. His test are 100 multiple choice questions. You will learn from him
very vague/sassy teacher. asks a million questions when he lectures but never actually answers them. instead he just keeps asking you/classmates "but why" & then after 30 mins you have become completely confused & have lost the point of the lecture. Doesnt bother me but he expects you to read 2 chs (80+ pgs) before each class. 2 tests. 3 projects.
Before taking this class over the summer i read the reviews and was i almost drop him. Prof Faifman is knowledgeable of the course and care about his students. Participation is 15% of your Grade. Read the chapters before class . 2 group projects and 2 case paper. if you follow the syllabus format for the paper you will be fine.
The professor know the material very well, it is not an easy class since he takes the time to teach and make sure you think outside the box. He is willing to stay late at night for the review if you have questions. Will recommend to everyone if you really want to learn the material and implement it in your daily life.
It is insane to give 100 multiple choice questions for exam especially for night school. No consideration. Fau is the worst they allow these Professors to do as they please.
Great style of teaching, I feel like he was coaching me to be successful in business. you will learn a lot! I could have gotten an A If I had studied more for the first test.
2 tests, 2 group projects, 2 papers and participation grade. Projects and papers were both graded pretty generously. Tests were not difficult if you read the chapters, power points, and paid attention in class. Engaging lectures which keeps you interested. I would definitely recommend this professor
Good professor! but need to read if you want to pass the class. Test are hard, very generous to grade presentations, participation is graded so read before the class.
Prof Faifman is...... smart!!!!!!!!! He really really knows his stuff. He FORCES you to engage in each class, and grades participation. However, I actually feel really really lucky I got him for MAN4720, the highest level course in the business curriculum. I dig 'em, but not a skate-through class.
Very smart and passionate about what he is lecturing on. He actually taught us so much, especially how to APPLY it in the real world. He forces everyone to participate and really think about these topics. This was one of my favorite and most knowledgeable professors at FAU. If you DON'T want to do anything, not the class for you.
If you truly want to learn, be inspired, be transformed and increase the likelihood you'll succeed in the workforce, (irrespective of your major), take Faifman. If you're lazy, he won't sympathize with or understand you, so keep looking for a professor. If you do work hard, he will bend over backwards until he's sure you have grasped the concepts.
Participation is a big part of your grade so not only show up to class but also be prepared to participate. There will be 2 group presentations, 2 papers and 2 exams (100 questions each). He is a very lenient grader although you are required to read a lot so textbook is mandatory. Class can be boring because he reads so much from his powerpoints
Great teacher, encourages his students to think critically. Great discussions in class. Attendance & participation required , tests are long but easy. Easy grader, everyone in class received a good grade
Knowledgeable professor with engaging class discussions and assignments
He wants you to read. Reading before class definitely helps understand all the expamples he goes over in class. He's funny and definitely keeps class interesting. Lots of reading but it's an easy read
Discussion based class, must read chapters, cases and be ready to invest a lot of time for a business core class. Two presentations. Critical thinking is essential to get a good grade in here.
Professor explains topics well but important to read the text before lectures.
He's very knowledgeable and uses the material in real world examples. He expects participation and knowing the material before hand.
Prof. will explain concepts using real life examples. You will learn a lot. Be prepared, read the chapters and cases ahead of class, and get ready to Participate! You have never seen more comprehensive syllabus. Group projects/cases (not my favorite) are mandatory. So far I am spending more time on this class vs. my three other classes together.
Make sure to read the assigned chapter and all the opening case before class. He engages the class during the lecture and this counts towards your participation grade. He uses real world examples which is very helpful. The outline for the group presentation, case paper and AASBC is in the syllabus, follow it and you will do well.
This is an amazing professor. If you follow the syllabus you will pass for sure. TAKE HIM!!!!!
He has a very great attitude, as long as you do the work you will be fine in the class. He cares about your education and wants you to learn. Would recommend.
Great teacher and is very engaged in his classroom. Be ready to present every class. Easy grade if you show up and participate
Pretty good professor. Lots of group work, learn through application and very hands on.
Very good professor i would advise taking him.
Professor Faifman was an amazing teacher. Helped explain everything clearly and improved some of the skills that I need in order to takeover the business world.
He is great!!!!!!! I would take him again.
great for learning public speaking
Great professor, informative and supportive. Confusing at times but easy to talk to and clarifies if lost. Overall fun class.
If you want to grow as a student and a professional this is the class to take. Professor Faifman challenged us and made me want to learn and think critically. I would take this class again and recommend others to do so as well.
Respectful Professor, gives a lot of feedback and goes over each lesson material in class. He expects you to be confident and present infront of your classmates everyday. Very good teacher and simple straight forward class.
Totally worth taking if you want to start a business
Definitely one of the best professors I have ever had. Would recommend if you get a chance.
Took this class because it was required for my major, and the professor was awesome. You choose a group be in at the begening of the semester, create a startup company and present your weekly gainings and new knowledge of the company each class. Turn in the assignments in on time, update your powerpoint each class and you will get a relaxing easy A
This professor is really helpful in providing the basics to understanding entrepreneurship. It's more of a hands-on class where you actually put in thought and work into setting up a business. But don't let that deceive you because he helps you along the way and is ready to answer all questions. If you end up taking this course, he wont disappoint
Easy grader, show up to class and do the work and you will be fine. Participate and do all the work and you should get an A.
Mr. Faifman is an interesting professor. He doesn't specifically stay by the book but allows the class to be led by discussion. There is a group project where you create your own business and apply entrepreneurship strategies to your potential business. Overall great class and easy A! Definitely recommend taking.
Great Professor. This class will be very helpful to anyone pursuing the business field in the future. Presentations almost every class. Would recommend to anyone wanting to become an entrepreneur !
Not much feedback, but straight-forward syllabus. Can watch lectures on our own time. Only one exam. Group project heavy weight on grade.
Experienced in Entrepreneurship and can be very insightful. Must read to keep up with participation topics
He is a good guy
I really liked this class. It taught me so much about entrepreneurship. I plan to take the skills taught and apply to them a business that I have in mind. Show up, do the work, and you will pass.
Wants students to learn so they are able to actually use the knowledge in life. If you have an interest in entrepreneurship, he is a good professor.
Good class. Interesting subject
Great Professor, you will definitely learn all about entrenpreneurship. Group project is majority of your grade in the class. Only 1 test which is the Final.
Class is straight forward, if your unclear about an assignment just ask a questions and you will pass.
Faifman teaches by making you work for it!
Great class. A lot of presentation, easy to study and complete the work. Easy A
Very good class sometimes you use the book but just watch the videos and you will be fine. A lot of public speaking. Show up to class and 1 final exam.
We take what we learned and put it into use. This class gave me a perspective on how the real world would work. Not saying this class is hard but its not an easy A you need to do the work which isn't much. He cares for his students and it shows. It's a fun class.
He is straight to the point
Not that hard of a class. There is a group project. Pretty cool project tho. Short presentation every class.
Profess Leon, was super excite professor. Allowed you time to do work and turn it. Group presentation every week which he tell you what to present it on. Only one test which is 50 question final, gives review. You get out what you put in.
This class is very hands on. You are required to come up with a business idea and the entire semester revolves around it. This is a very good class if you plan on being an entrepreneur. I would recommend this class
The Professor is dedicated to teaching his students and makes sure that everyone understands the material. There are a lot of presentations but that means a lot of opportunities to gain points. He allows the class to determain their own success or failure. Show up and do your work
I would take Professor Leon again he help my group and me have the most successful company in the class. Their no reason you should get a A in his class. This class was amazing and got to meet some great people.
Professor Leon may come off too serious at the beginning of class but its all for the benefit of getting us students to take the work load seriously and not slack off. For my semester he managed to put most of the workload at the beginning so we wouldnt be struggling towards the end of the semester which made things better towards the end for all
Very good class a lot of public speaking great professor you dont really use the book easy class. Show up to class
Leon is does a good job enabling students to practice and learn theory behind their course material
dont arrive late.
Great class. Come on time. Participate. If you fall behind speak with him and hang in there. He can be intimidating at first, but he's actually really reasonable.
Learned from the first day what not to do when starting a business. Really makes you think about your business and what will help it succeed!
It was a good class overall. The class is really based of doing projects. He gives really good feedback, be prepared and read the material.
Great class but DO NOT ARRIVE LATE!!
TAKE HIM!
If you want to do well in this class make sure to attend every lecture. Attendance is mandatory, and he takes it seriously. The class work is bearable, and you will enjoy the knowledge gained from this class.
Faifman is an awesome professor. What he teaches you I can guarantee you will remember for a long time. Wants his students to actually learn the material.
Professor Faifman is very flexible if you are in class and participate; just be on time.
Professor Faifman is very easygoing if you are in class and participate. Make sure to be on time, he doesn't like when people are late. And stay up to date on the videos and reading; it will help you throughout the course.
This professor was tough in the beginning and assignments were unclear. He was rude at times but once we did a mid-course evaluation he asked our opinion of the class in written form, anonymously. The next class he clarified everything and his attitude mellowed out the rest of the semester. He wants his students to think for themselves.
Lots of reading and studying before hand. Participation in class is important.
NOT THE BEST COMMUNICATOR
Tough grader
Good class overall. You read three books throughout the semester. Discussion based class. Learn alot about what types of questions to ask people, how to get them to solve problems for you, and how to read and manipulate body language. No homework or exams, just have to read chapters to discuss in class.
Prof. Faifman led an enjoyable MGT 355 class. He demonstrated ability in what he teaches and does a satisfactory job pointing out exactly what it is he wants to get across. Lots of outside of class reading, in-class discussion, and discussion posting. Overall a good class, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Dr. Faifman is great! No tests. Many group projects. Easy A but also really helpful and practical info!
Professor Faifman's style of teaching is beneficial. Participation is the most important part of his class. You read the chapter before class and discuss it during class. He opens the floor to the students first and will not discuss the material unless they show they have read the book and are willing to participate.
Fun class, great engaging environment. Would definitely recommend taking this class
If you have the chance to take Negotiations with Faifman,....DO IT!! The whole class is based on discussion, but not the boring kind. You have 3 (VERY VERY INTERESTING AND HELPFUL) books to read on the basis of negotiations, body language, and one written by an FBI agent. You do short presentations on the books (easy), and you play games! LOVED!
Was a great Professor, easy and fun classes. Would take again.
If you get the chance, take this professor. This is by far the most insightful class i have taken at UT. He doesn't teach off slide presentations and helps you through learning the material. He is also very nice and funny as well as understanding. Just be ready to participate but nothing bad, even if you are shy. definitely recommend.
Great professor. Have to read the books to talk about them in class which you get participation points for since there is no outside homework (besides reading the books). Cares about you learning the art of negotiation. If you can talk easily in front of others this class will be very easy, if not, not so much.
This class is heavily participation based. Reading the chapter before is a great help as class time is primarily focused around the chapters.
Professor Faifman was a great teacher, and the open conversation helped a lot during class. Expect to buy three short books that the whole class is based off but overall very fun and helpful.
