Len is a pretty good teacher. Do your work and he will recognize it. Attend office hours and get to know him and you will succeed. He knows everyone by name and gives you all the resources you need to succeed including practice tests and exams. Follow instructions, study, ask questions and you are guaranteed to do well.

Goes way too fast and is extremely haphazard in class, often talks about offensive things. Quizzes are easy; no homework graded. But his exams are very tricky. Sometimes he just gives handouts instead of actually teaching students. Do everything and you will pass, getting a good grade takes much effort.

In lecture, he explains the material well and explicitly tells you what you are responsible for on tests. His courseweb is immense; every possible helpful study tool is there. His tests have mult choice and free response (unlike Golde & Fortney), and you can get bonus points from the free response. He curves the class too, that's a nice touch.

Absolutely hilarious and approachable. Exams are quite easy and your final exam can determine your grade if you do poorly on midterm exams.

This man does not know chemistry, i'm not sure how he got a phd. He couldn't identify polyatomic ions, I got many questions wrong on the mid term because his answer key was wrong, and he refused to give the points back, even though he was obviously wrong!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

Probably the worst teacher I have ever had. He makes fun of students on a daily basis for asking legitimate questions and makes himself impossible to approach for fear of humiliation in front of a large lecture. He doesn't teach, but puts all material online and expect students to learn by themselves. Stay away!

Kogut can come off a little harsh, but he usually has valid points for things he yells at you for. His lectures are useless, I barely go. If it wasn't for my TA, my book, and my peer reviews I would be failing. Its very true he gets side tracked during lecture and can be all over the place. I wouldn't recommend him.

A bit hard to follow at times because he goes off topic, but it is intended to be funny and it does help keep the students interested. A different teaching style but is actually pretty effective once the student becomes used to it. Good teacher for chemistry!

Kogut is all over the place in lectures, and is not very consistent. But if you pay attention, and get used to his teaching style you will learn alot. He really cares about his students, so if you take the time to get to know him he will help you out when it comes to grading. His tests can be difficult, so make sure you study.

I had Kogut for Chem 1 and 2, and I LOVED him! He is intimidating at first, but he really cares about his students and Chemistry. If you use all the resources available, it's a fair A or B. If not, you are likely to do much worse. I have had no prior experience with Chem and Prof Kogutkes me want to stick with Chemistry. He's a great guy, funny too

I had Dr. Kogut for Chem 1 and Chem 2. Although I did not like him much at first, now I LOVE him! He makes fun of kids but it's entertaining. If you go to his office hours, he is extremely helpful and cares a lot about students. I got an A+ in chem 1 without having chemistry since 10th grade. You definitely need to study, but he gives BONUS pts too

Dr. Kogut cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He does not put up with people who are poor students. He gets mad at them and I would not want to be those kids. Stay on top of things and he will like you. Very good teacher.

Kogut takes a little getting used to at first but once you learn how he teaches you'll realize its really effective cause he doesn't add any fluff. Pretty funny guy and a very good teacher. Lecture is pretty interesting with him. You definitely need to study for this class but I would definitely recommend him.

Lecture is definitely not mandatory, all he does is go over his "outcomes" that are on Courseweb. His exams really aren't too bad but his final is definitely a grade killer. Study hard and DEFINITELY do the pre-class assignments that he puts on Courseweb. Very easy way to get bonus points and give yourself breathing room for the exams!

Kogut is definitely an interesting person. It takes a while to get use to him, but once you do, you will like him. He definitely wants his students to do well. You just need to study his Learning Outcomes and skip the book. Also, go to his office hours, and he will love you. Exams can be tough, but just put in the time, and you will do well.

Dr. Kogut is a good guy and wants all of his students to succeed. He seems rough around the edges at first, but if you just do the homework and go to office hours when you need help you'll probably do fine. I'm horrible at chemistry, but managed to get a B-.

Awesome Professor! Extremely helpful to students that actually care about getting a good grade. Very specific about directions-- which I really liked. Exams are very hard, but read the book, and listen in class and you'll do fine.

He's a nice guy at heart, and an okay teacher. He sometimes tries to make fun of the students and it's a little awkward. He can also be kind of scatterbrained, but if you ask him to repeat something or explain it, he really does understand the material very well.
