Hard to understand what he wants you to accomplish, doesn't follow the book when teaching, although tests are by the book.

Worst class of my collage life. Not only mean spirited but rude. Tests are impossible to finish (only two people EVER finished one of his tests) So hard that the curve for the class had 39% = C!!!!

This guy curves so easily that its hard not to pass. Just dont try to ask him a question or he will bite your head off.

If you're a bio major you have to have this guy. He gets mad if you ask a question about something he already explained; and even more angry if you prove him wrong. That happens a lot since he makes so many mistakes. If you make a small mathmatical error on a test you lose half the points.

DEFENSIVE. Will not improve your grade no matter what. Extremely unclear on assignments and tries to spin your own misunderstandings back on you. Gives huge assignments due in less than a week, and cannot complete his own 50 minute tests in time. Blames other professors or students for his own failures. STAT and CNA majors are stuck with him.

Wow, just wow. I suggest never to take this professor. I have to constantly help others in the class because you can't understand him. He belittles you if you ask a question and reexplains it as if you were 5 years old. He stands over you while you are working on problems in class, if you perform a step wrong, he says "that's wrong" then walks away

He seems to know math well, but lacks communication shills to convey messages and lessons to the students. He repeast the same things over and over, even though people still don't understand what he is syaing, he refuses to change his approach. He also relies on other students to do his job- he expects a student to explain it cuz he is unable to.

By far, the worst prof at SCSU. He dosent take time to explain things more and he just throws everything at you and expects you to understand it right away. if someone asks a questin he gets all pissed off. his grading on things is very unfair

Wow, just wow. This guy is insanely hard. He is mean, he degrades you when you ask him a question. He will not let come to class if you leave during an earlier one. The class average for the class i'm in is around 40%. I HIGHLY suggest not having him as a professor.

For the love of all that is man...avoid taking this guy! You will learn nothing- he will make you feel stupid and yells at you when you don't understand something. If you go to his office he will tell you to go away and ask someone else. I handed in the exact same assignment as a friend & I got a 67% & he got a 80%- with the same answers & work!

Very Very bad teacher. You cannot understand a word he says. On top of that he picks favorites and it definately shows. If you try to go to his office hours he will just tell you he is leaving or he will yell at you for trying to get help. I'm pre med and this is required. I hope they hire someone else for this class. Could not understand anything he was trying to teach us. Incomprehensible and purely miserable to try to learn from his teaching method. Didn't even open the textbook most of the semester (not a good thing).

Lets just say that here at SCSU some professors are here to teach and some are here to do research. Onyia is one of those who are here to do research, he does not care about his students. My impression of him: he would rather have a student fail and do little work to help them, then put time in a student and see them succeed.

Dr. Onyiah is the worst professor I've ever had at state! He was not at all helpful. I arranged to see him in office hours and he was nowhere to be found. I went to the tutor and even he couldn't figure out how to do the assignment! The class average was 67% and no, he did not grade on a curve. So, most of us got a D-. Many failed the course!

I was only in this class for about a week. I really needed this class but he wouldn't respond to my emails and I couldn't take the frustration of staying up late every night to try and figure all this stuff out. It's NOT worth it. You'll work your butt off for a class that you could easily take with a different teacher and get a better grade at.

I am in the online class, so basically he doesn't teach or answer questions. A few students actually went to the Dean to demand a change or a full refund. Multiple errors on tests and no clear guidelines on grading assignments. Refuses to meet with online students. HORRIBLE!

He has numerous errors on most assignments and tests. He does not repond to emails. He does not work with you and does not welcome office hours. Not a recommended professor. Take with someone else.

Worst Stat professor by far, don't take unless you have no choice. Jumps around the book and assigns homeworks that take hours and are due in 2 days. No compassion, no patience to answer questions, spends half of class telling you that you aren't working hard enough. This class is a bad memory I want to forget.

After sending numerous emails to the class telling us not to ask questions, I'm heading to the dean. This is an elementary statistics class, I shouldn't be putting more time into this class than organic chemistry only to be on the verge of failing. You just can't base large assignments and test scores off of literally a couple questions.

Worst class by far! Worked my butt off to barely pass. Unclear and not helpful. The only reason I learned anything was from going to tutoring with the GA.

More than half of the time during lectures I'm trying to understand his pronunciations and vague explanations to which he only teaches in the way "he" believes is understandable! The GAs are alright and pretty much does his job for him. He is also rarely in his office. Seems like all he does is come lectures and then leaves. I now hate stat.

All negative comments are accurate. However, he is the only professor that teaches 219 so, use the TA's as much as possible, or you will struggle with everything in this class. He makes it hard on purpose, but grades a little more leniently then other professors. If you have a choice though avoid taking his class at all costs!

So awful. First test had half the questions from the next unit that hadn't been covered. Turned in my homework once, looked at the answer key and thought I'd gotten them all right. Get my homework back with 35/50. Asked him what was incorrect. He responded that he was sick of students not doing their work and didn't answer after that. Rude.

Worst and most stressful experience I've had at SCSU by far. Do not take this class. Almost half of our class dropped last semester. A group went to the dean with issues and nothing happened. His book is horrible, buy another basic STAT book that you can understand, take this class elsewhere, or wait to see if someone else teaches it!

I asked him if I could have one extra day to do the hw on paper cause when I tried saving the site crashed and I had to start at the beginning and he told me no and started laughing. One of the worst professors I have ever had. He goes way too fast during lecture and if you ask a question, he answers it in the most confusing way. The book helps, however, it has many errors making it difficult to actually study. He uses an online homework system, takes HOURS to complete so do NOT wait until the last minute to do it.

I took him technically took him twice - started with him for fall semester but withdrew after the second class and then again the spring semester but this time online. He never responds to emails and insists that his way is the correct way. We had to use a VERY expensive textbook that he wrote full of errors, Never take him, ever.

Difficult to follow lecture, and the book he wrote that you are required to purchase is full of errors. The online homework system doesn't work very well, but the professor does go back and grade everything personally, so don't worry if you get 5% on your first assignment. Mocks students for questions and then is annoyed by lack of questions.

His presentations were stale and boring and hard to understand, he is also very careless of job oblogations, especially law enforcement. I had to use the tutoring season and I was told by them that he doesn't teach statistics the correct way. Find a different teacher!

Onyiah isnt very considerate of his students. Tough to understand. Gets angry when asked questions about the material. All homeworks/tests require hand-written work that takes extensive time, but you are not given enough time to complete. Worst professor ive ever had, and its not close.

Though I received a passing grade I still regret taking this class and thinking about this professor is going to anger me for a while. He truly makes the class more complicated than it should be. If you have to take him, take it online so you can use the book and notes. Don't bother with the powerpoints unless you are really stuck. He's not going to answer your questions, so use practice problems to help. Most assignment questions are based off the ones in his book. He's no help

Powerpoints are hard to understand, he had a heavy accent thats hard to understand in lectures, he wrote the required textbook which is as useful as the powerpoint. he does not explain your questions well and assignments are online however they are hard to do without help.

Horrible professor who is more unprepared then your dropout college freshman. Does not use D2l for any extra help. Arrives late to class every day. What he teaches in class will not be on the test nor homework. Unless you HAVE to take him, please dont and wait till another professor teaches the class.

This teacher isn't the best teacher to take a class with. He has a very thick accent that you can't understand what he's saying at all. He does however doesn't give you a lot of homework but you won't understand how he grades. You have to purchase his book that he made because there's a code in the book to access your homework and it's hard to read

First of all, Leonard seems like a genuinely good guy. As a professor, he was terrible. I hate to be harsh, but I dont want anyone else to waste time and money like I did; this was the worst class I have ever taken. The lectures were terrible, he didnt respond to email, he didnt understand English very well... please do not take his class.
