He's new to TCCD but he is a young, chill professor that just wants you to learn the material. He gives you plenty of resources to help with Spanish and will answer any questions you have. One flaw is that stated he "requires" the physical textbook rather than the digital version in class, even though you do your work on scratch paper.

Had a great experience with this professor. Always willing to help and answer questions if you ask. No homework at all with the exception of just studying vocabulary, grammar, for tests, etc. He definitely knows the language and wants each student to succeed. You get what you earn! I definitely recommend him and would take another class with him!

This guy is not bad at all. I took him online for beginners spanish. His class is not difficult as long as you are willing to put the work in. The work is not even hard, just can be time consuming. He grades fairly and as long as you don't miss assignments expect a good grade. He pulls his tests and quizzes from the VHL activities (online lab).

Great professor!

Professor Longoria was a great professor to have as an ECHS student and he taught us the information well and occasionally had small talk with every student during labs and sometimes class. The class is a bit difficult trying to remember everything but he explains questions that you have.

he is a really cool teacher and he works hard to make sure that you pass the class. If you do bad on a test he will give you ways to improve your score in the class. He strives to help you succeed.

This professor says he does not care but actually cares very much. He is always making sure his students are paying attention and he is always asking for our plans for the weekend. He gives you the grade you earned and there are no extra credit opportunities, I personally did not find this class to be that hard.

Professor Longoria is awesome. He's organized and clear. There are no surprises and you will receive the grade you earn. Come to class, do your homework, and you'll do well. I took the course over the summer so there was a lot of homework compressed into each week.

Taking this as an online Maymester class was the best decision. His class is easy if you are willing to study and do all your work and you will definitely pass.

Professor Longoria is a great teacher that really cares about your learning. He is very clear about expectations and very well organized. Very fast grader and very approachable as well. If you have any problems with the materials be sure to let him know, he will work with you. He also offered extra credit when I took his class.

His SPAN 1411 summer online class was well structure. Very flexible and an easy A.

Professor L. is helpful was helpful throughout the online course, he answers his email and is always ready to help. Take his class! and always do all the assignments that need to be done, if you need extra help ask him for tutorials.

Honestly, the class wasnt hard. He was very to-the-point, and even gave us extra credit. There was a lot of homework, but it was doable if you gave yourself the time to do it. Just so the work. Id say that for every class. But seriously, take HIS class if you need to take a Spanish class.

Although the COVID-19 made us never get the chance to see who our professor looks like, he was very helpful with the videos he put up and offered extra credit opportunities being that this is a second language it is hard and the professor knows its hard too so he helps you out, good teacher this one.

Lessons recorded weekly on YouTube so you can watch at your convenience. Lessons go along with textbook and weekly assignments and quizzes. Many chances for extra credit through out the semester. Turn in everything on time and youll be fine

He's a very good Professor with Covid he did the best he could. I would say some assignments where difficult and others weren't explained. Though he is very helpful and gives you lot of time to do assignments.

By far the easiest class I have took this semester!! Taking both Spanish 1 & 2 right now with this professor and passing both classes with 95 or higher! So many extra credit opportunities are given and the professor really helps out and cares! Every week was just 2-3 quizzes( super easy) & VHL assignments (given about 3 weeks to complete).

This is a perfect professor to take if you want to pass. I know Spanish can be intimidating but having a teacher like Prof. L, will help a lot. He is caring about his students and very straight forward with what has to be done to pass. He is a great guide to any student and anyone is lucky to have them as their professor.

This professor was the best that I´ve had yet. He cares for his students and wants to see us succeed and actually gain knowledge from the class we´re taking. He´s very flexible and is willing to work with you when life gets chaotic. I don't need another language credit, but I am signing up for Span II in the spring with him b/c he CARES unlike most

This class is very fun as well as easy to pass as long as you ask question and check to see if you have any missed work.

I would say that he is very well organized and he puts a lot of effort for everyone to have a good grade, he makes sure that we have our assignments done by always reminding us. Overall he is an excellent professor.

I loved Profesor Longoria's class so much that I decided to take the 2nd class with him. One of the things that I like about his class is that he does YouTube videos and explains the material more in-depth and easier to understand. Since I've been taking online classes he is the only professor that has done this.

The Class isn't too difficult on it's own, but you gotta keep up with all the assignments. He's chill, helpful, and offers extra credit.

The course requires vigilance. It's not so much challenging, but you must keep up with the workload. He also offers plenty of extra credit opportunities.

Professor Leonel Longoria-Montiel was a really amazing teacher. Everything was easily accessible and super easy to understand. His lectures were straight to the point and simplified so I never had any problems understanding what the lesson was about. He definitely does not shy away from giving you extra credit opportunities too!

Professor is solid, and takes pride in what he does. Youll have to work bottom line but its not difficult as long as you make the time.

He is very accessible outside of the classroom! During COVID and all classes being online it can be hard to keep track of everything that is due. He sends reminders often of tests and exams due that day which is very helpful.

Professor is very organized and communicates with class daily. Homework and quizzes are not difficult and you can use your notes and book for assistance. Videos provided to help with lessons and he provides opportunities for extra credit. As long as you plan your week and stay on top of work you will get an A in this class. Professor was great!

I took Spanish 1411 and 1412 with Professor Longoria. I wish he was teaching the next course so I could continue with him. Participation is a must, but he gives you all the information you need to excel. Plus extra credit and one exception for late work. His lectures are entertaining and he's got a great personality.

Professor Longoria is one of the nicest professors I have ever had, and I never even met him in person! This semester was already a challenge what with taking online classes for the first time AND having no experience with foreign language. He is generous, very kind, very understanding, and he will do whatever it takes to help you succeed. 10/10!!!

Such a great class! I highly recommend this class for anyone and everyone. He is very easy going and is very clear on every assignment. The course load is a lot but he gives plenty of time to complete everything. His lectures were very easy to understand and he got straight to the point. There are only two test. Quizzes every week, but easy!

This class was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it , and Mr L. was very specific from the beginning with the calendar and activities, he gives you extra credit for participate at the Spanish club among other things. Very good teacher.

I really enjoyed this class. You were able to work at your own pace which I liked a lot, as long as you get everything in on time you will be fine. There is a lot of work but nothing too bad.

The teacher makes it very easy to pass the class. he answers his emails very quickly and is thouro with his instructional videos. the most important thing i took away is that he understand that with this being an online class it will mostly be unofficially self taught. so he makes sure the material is not too hard.

I loved taking the class ! It was difficult learning a new language without face to face classes but Mr. Longoria is easy to work with and is helpful when needed.

I took his SPAN-1411 during COVID, so everything was online. However, this was a very easy class because he was very clear about the work assigned and due dates. Theres are a lot of assignments and quizzes but theyre really easy and you get like multiple attempts to pass them. If you plan to take him, do it.

Theres kind of a lot of work , but if you put in even a little effort and time you will be alright! He responds quickly. my class was strictly online and I never had a problem contacting him. lots of extra credit opportunities highly recommend

I'm not a native Spanish speaker and I'm honestly terrible at learning languages but Professor Longoria made it enjoyable and easy to pick up on the language. I had him for an online class so I don't what the class is like in-person, but I wish I could take his class again overall.

Loved Mr.L he was sweet the two semesters I took him. His lectures are pretty good and tries to get everyone involved. Although he is kinda fast he moves from one lesson to another. If you take notes and pay attention in class you will come out with a good grade.

Seriously the best and easiest Spanish professor! I regret not taking him for SPAN 1412 :( I took him for summer 1, and 23 of the 29 students in my class got an A. He allows unlimited attempts on assignments (which are basically completion graded), 3 attempts on quizzes, and only two short writing assignments! This class couldn't;t be any better.

Profesor Montiel is an excellent instructor. He gives you many many opportunities to complete your work and still give you a good grade. He really cares about the success of his class. If I could take his class again I would most definitely do it. He is awesome! And I highly highly recommend him.

Took him over the summer for SPAN 2311 + 2312 and it was great. The VHL assignments are time consuming but he has a fair grading policy about it. Also, exams are not bad, very fair with studying. He also has his own YouTube video lectures that are great to really understand the content. Was able to enjoy my summer, get the credits, and learn!

If you're going to take a Spanish course, take it with him!!! So caring and actually cares about his students grades. Such a great class with an even more amazing professor.

so easy and im taking him again. just stay caught up with the assignments and youll be fine, dont leave it to the last minute. youll get a 0 if you dont do an assignment. VHLs are 40% of your grade but again just stay caught up youll be fine. only uses respondus for the final (10% of grade), added 35% to ur final for just taking it.

Professor L is a great professor. I only got the grade I did because I did not keep up online assignments. All assignments are online through the text book, do not wait till day of to do the assignments. Exams are easy, last one is proctored but simple. He does give extra credit.

Amazing professor! It was my first maymester so I was quite nervous but Professor Longoria was great! He was very prompt with his emails. He uses a textbook for the assignments and lectures, also provides other sources. Stay ahead and you should be fine!

This class is super easy but every long and tedious. The VHLs are so long and take a very long time to do so recommend finishing those early. Other than that the class is very easy and simple to pass.

I took both 2311/2312 over the summer, and it was doable and informative. If you plan ahead and stay on top of your work, then it'll only be around one or two hours a day of studying and doing the assignments. There are 3 attempts on quizzes, and other assignments aren't graded harshly at all. Definitely take his class if you need those credits!

I LOVED Professor Longoria-Montiel! I took him for 2 Spanish courses and would have loved to have him for all 4 semesters! He is very helpful when you reach out and is very quick when responding to your questions. 100% would take him again!
