She is amazing! She worked really hard to stimulate a real classroom environment even though the class was entirely online. More work than other sections of negotiation but really worth it because you learn so much applicable knowledge!!!
My class with Williamson was one of my favorite classes but she's one of my least favorite professors. Claims she encourages asking questions in class, but when someone speaks up she'll throw shade at them for "wasting class time". She made a mistake on a quiz that confused everyone and when I pointed it out she emailed me to stop talking in class
Professor Williamson is brilliant and one of the best professors I've had at Vandy. She's extremely knowledgable about the material and is a superb lecturer. She was always available to meet both during and outside of class to answer any questions or concerns. I HIGHLY recommend taking a course with her!
Professor Williamson is the best. She sets clear and objective standards, and if you do the reasonable amount of work assigned you will do well and get so much out of her class. She is highly accessible during office hours and truly wants students to succeed both inside the classroom and in the business world. This class is amazing!
Prof. Williamson is the best professor I've had. The material presented in her negotiation class is very interesting and the simulations she uses is a great way to learn the info. She truly cares about each of her students and is always willing to help with classwork and networking opportunities. Do not graduate without taking one of her classes!
Professor Williamson does a wonderful job of teaching the art of negotiation through applied practice. Her class is not meant to be difficult and everyone can get an A if they show up and put in the work. She is an established businesswoman who has real experience, so she knows what she's talking about. Great guest lectures as well. Must take.
She's the walking and talking version of cold corporate America. Her class is fairly bland although interesting, and her interactions with students are not the best to say the least. Would not recommend.
Professor Williamson is an incredibly caring and inspiring professor who empowers each of her students to optimize their personal (and professional) growth in her Corporate Social Responisibility course. Each lecture, including guest speaker visits, was informative, exciting, and highly interactive with reflective discussions.
Professor Williamson is the best professor I have had at Vandy. She cares about students' success both in and out of the classroom. She is willing to meet with students to discuss the class, career paths, & more. Guest speakers are amazing. The material is real-world applicable. Easy A if you participate and do the work. Take her class!
Her classes are challenging, yet very meaningful. She really engages her students and wants her students to learn practical skills for real-life negotiation. I learned so much that has become a part of my habit in my daily lives. I'd take her again, strongly recommended!
Show up on time and engage in the material and you will do well. Professor Williamson makes the coursework very hands on and really cares about students success. She makes herself available to answer questions / prep for exams and even offered professional development sessions throughout the semester. Recommend taking one of her courses.
I absolutely loved her CSR course! She is very caring and wants all her students to succeed in the course (and professionally too, she has great advice/resources). Lectures consisted of interactive discussions on various CSR-related topics and interesting guest speakers. Highly recommend taking this class.
Professor Williamson is an incredible teacher, one that genuinely cares about her students and their future. An *extremely* successful businesswomen, her negotiation class is not meant to be a textbook slog or an exercise in memorization. Rather, it is about practical skills- skills that I have used on a daily basis since her class. 10/10 course.
Loved Professor Williamsons negotiation course. It is one of the most practical learning experiences Ive ever had. Additionally, her office hours are not just for the course - she will help you prepare for actual job negotiations and networking connections. I cannot recommend her highly enough- take advantage of this amazing teacher!
It is clear that Professor Williamson allocates 100% effort to everything she does. As a lecturer, she seeks to connect with each of her students the instant you step foot in her class, and provides high-quality lectures consisting of practical exercises and relevant guest speakers.
Professor Williamson is one of the few professors at Vanderbilt that truly puts her students first. Her class is very interactive and engaging, without too much work. She is a huge asset outside of class and is definitely a great professor to have a relationship with. If you have the opportunity to take a class with her, you will not regret it!!!!
Professor Williamson teaches an interesting class, but she is an unnecessarily difficult grader and is hard on her students. There is not a lot of work and most of the tests/assignments are not too difficult, but be warned, participation matters and she will find a reason to take off points.
Professor Williamson is dedicated to her students success. Throughout the year we had guest speakers, CEOs and global leaders come in and talk. She helped us look inward and find what we can contribute to the world based on our passions. Professor helped us make so many awesome connections and helped us network.
Professor Williamson and BUSA 3105 are absolutely awesome! She not only genuinely cares for the well-being and success of each of her students, but also was able to bring in tremendous speakers who furthered her lectures on the valuable skills to be a great negotiator! By far my favorite class at Vandy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Professor Williamson's BUSA 3105 class was one of my favorite courses! She is extremely committed to the success of each student. The coursework is very interesting, and Professor Williamson is able to connect the class material to relevant stories about her extensive experience in business and with amazing guest speakers. I definitely recommend!!
Corporate Social Responsibility was by far the most interesting class I have taken at Vanderbilt. Professor Williamson did an excellent job introducing us to the matter by combining amazing lectures with guest speakers, interesting readings, case studies, and group projects. I would definitely take one of her classes again.
This was my favorite class I've taken in three years at Vandy! Professor Williamson is genuinely one of the most caring people I've ever met and wants nothing more than for students to succeed. Her personal anecdotes are super interesting and useful. I also came away feeling so much stronger in negotiation. Not hard but learned a ton.
Professor Williamson is amazing. (...and the one professor in the business department who doesn't mansplain and actually knows what she's talking about!) She brings in interesting guest speakers and is always willing to help students. Participation and attendance are SUPER important to her and to your grade.
Super interesting class; even as a non-business major, I feel like I can now talk about CSR topics in interviews/jobs! Almost every session, we had insane guest speakers! She is a VERY successful businesswoman and knows her stuff. If you put work into your essays and participation, you'll learn a ton and your grade will reflect it. Take the class!!
Criteria to start the year is a little vague, but you get a clear sense of expectations through feedback on the first couple of assignments. Respect is reciprocated, and highly valued. Valuable asset outside of the classroom, want's the best for all of her students.
My experience in Professor Williamson's class was incredibly positive, and it is a class I've learned the most from in my time at Vandy. I found the feedback and career guidance from her outside of class as the most impactful. One of the most influential professors I have met and she really made an effort to assist me along my journey!
LOVED Williamson as a person. Such a cool professional who has lot of very applicable experience. By far my favorite class I have taken at Vandy. Such a unique way to learn about ESG topics all of which Williamson is super knowledgeable about and presents multiple viewpoints on. She is great. You just have to do the reading and show up to do well.
Professor Williamson's negotiation class was definitely my favorite class in the entire semester. I learned so many applicable skills and she is an amazing professor. She is always willing to give in-class and real-life advice and her experiences as a businesswoman make the class even better. I cannot recommend her enough!
Professor Williamson is hands down the best professor at Vanderbilt. She has strict attendance and participation requirements but makes her expectations clear from day 1. Professor Williamson cares deeply about the success of everyone in the class and isn't afraid to adapt her plans to incorporate students' interests. Take this class!!!
Professor Williamson is by far the best professor I have had at Vanderbilt. She cares about her students deeply, and at the end of the day, just ants you to learn. I've taken both of her classes, and have learned more from both of them than any other class at Vanderbilt. The work isn't too much, and it's all actually interesting.
Prof Williamson is very nice and accessible to students - she cares about everyone's success, not just in the classroom but career-wise as well. She has amazing connections and the class is largely made up of guest lectures and review of readings/cases. She will not like you if you refuse to participate or don't pay attention in class.
Absolutely awesome I think -- Professor Williamson brings so many inspirational speakers and her class is quite eye-opening to think about the future of business. But the classroom sucks.
Great professor. Lots of learning with a sensible workload. Do not take if you cannot commit to attending every day without tardiness, though that may not apply to classes besides negotiations.
Professor Williamson really cares for her students and she brings lots of inspirational guest speakers. Just don't sleep in class :)
Prof. Williamson is more than inspirational. She is always keen to connect with her students and has told us a lot of her stories in the business field. This class is more practical than I expected, which I really enjoy. Definitely will take her class again!
She is an amazing professor who goes above and beyond to help her students. Negotiation is probably the best and most useful class I have ever taken at Vanderbilt. To get a good grade, you need to participate!!
Participation MATTERS and she'll dock pts if you doze off a lil or are even a minute late to class. Journal entries are graded harshly so it's hard to get 100, 2 exams over the content and speakers (easy if you paid attention), one presentation (easy if you follow rubric). She is passive-aggressive sometimes. You can tell if she doesn't like you.
Professor Williamson is hands down one of the best professors I've ever had at Vanderbilt. Not only is she an incredible instructor whose diverse teaching style keeps students engaged, but she is also an amazing human who takes a keen interest in her students. It was a privilege to be taught by her, and I would recommend her class to any student.
If you want a super strict professor, Professor Williamson is perfect. If you think you want to learn the material without all the stress, take a different professor.
Very easy A if you participate in class and don't do anything stupid (sleep, text). She cares a lot about attendance and punctuality. Tests are always open note and easy to ace. Group project grading can be a little subjective, but not too difficult regardless. She is very passive aggressive sometimes so make sure to get on her good side.
Really cool guest speakers, attendance and participation REALLY matter, very well connected and kind person who cares about her student- the class is a lot of work though. Overall, would take again.
Williamson is the most amazing professor. She cares deeply for her students and is a fantastic advocate for their needs and helps them develop themselves both in and outside the classroom. I loved the way she applied real world lessons and principals into the course and her passion (but also objective viewpoint) on/about the issue.
Passionate about teaching; experienced; and engaging; she made this class worth your time & tuition money. Little assignments, quizzes, participation (20%), group project (30%). For the group project you get to pick a major company (The Predators; Tate's, etc) to do a real-life consulting project for. TAKE THIS CLASS!
One of the best professors at Vandy. Interesting teacher, fascinating career background, and genuine care for her students. She is the only professor who has actually helped me with my career goals and invested into me. Great class that really introduced me to new and thought provoking content.
Prof W cares so. much. about her students. She goes the extra mile to support them both in and out of the classroom (she gives invaluable career advice). Take any class with this incredible prof - CSR was my favorite class at Vandy. I learned so much - awesome guest speakers, consulting project for a real company i.e. the Preds, Nash SC.
Professor W is the BEST at Vanderbilt and I could not recommend her highly enough! Through CSR we heard from incredible guest speakers, worked on a consulting project with companies like the Preds, and always could meet with her for career advice, which were opportunities unmatched at Vanderbilt! Definitely take CSR and Professor W!!
Professor Williamson is by far the most helpful, caring professor at Vanderbilt. I have learned more from her in one semester than I have in the past three years of my Vanderbilt career. She educates you on the ins-and-outs of business that universities tend to lack to teach. Highly recommend taking this class.
Professor Williamson is AMAZING - I took CSR with her and we all got to participate in a semester long consulting internship with national companies. It was a super fulfilling learning experience and she is really dedicated to seeing her students succeed. She has a ton of knowledge in the industry and is really willing to help which I loved!!
Williamson is qualified and has an impressive resume. That being said, I found her patronizing and nitpicky. Participation is key, but because it's easy to tell who she likes (and doesn't) in the class, it was hard to participate & not a place I felt emotionally safe b/c of constant passive aggression and lack of flexibility.
Impressive person, and a good lecturer. However, she does have pretty clear favorites and least favorites in class. Group project grading is pretty arbitrary, and it's very clear that she has a pretty big ego. Fine class but would not want to be forced to cater to her again
I took Corporate Social Responsibility with Professor Williamson this past semester and absolutely loved it! Not only does she have am impressive resume to back her lessons, but she cares so deeply about all her students. I truly learned so much through this class that I know I will apply in my future career. Professor W is top tier at Vanderbilt!
During my freshman year, Professor Williamson's CSR class was transformative. The real-world insights acquired through the consulting project, guest lectures from Fortune 500 executives, and her genuine mentorship have left a lasting impact on me. Recent office hours further highlighted her timeless commitment to student success. Enroll ASAP!!
I loved this class. I'd say the only downside is that attendance is mandatory and you need to be on time. There are some incredible guest speakers (C-suite executives from places like Nike and Mars) which is super cool. Also the option to do a semester long project with a real company (mine was with Bridgestone). It was super awesome.
Professor Williamson is truly one of the best professors that I have had at Vanderbilt. She cares so much about her students, and it really shows. The content of Corporate Social Responsibility is extremely interesting, and all of the assignments in this class are meaningful. Everything has a purpose and there is no busy work. 10/10 recommend.
Professor Williamson is definitely one of the best professors I've had here on campus. It's very clear that she cares about the content and about her students as well! She also brings in a number of guest speakers across the duration of the class, which makes attending class interesting, and the culminating project gives some real-world experience.
Professor is great. Class itself is pretty interesting. I think the bigger benefit comes from the guest speakers (which are incredible) and from the semester long project you do with massive corporations which teaches you a ton. Strict attendance policy. Overall interesting and definitely would recommend.
Professor Williamson is amazing. She truly cares for her students and wants them to go into the real world prepared and ready to show up as their best selves. I don't think I have had another professor that has this thoughtfully designed their course. I couldn't recommend her enough. Lots of great guest speakers, and real world group projects.
Williamson runs a tight ship but she prepares you for the business world and pushes you to achieve high expectations. She cares about her students, is approachable, and fosters an open classroom environment. As long as you show up prepared, don't ask stupid questions, and be a proactive problem-solver, you shouldn't have any problems getting an A.
Overall, she is a very nice person, but her classroom was incredibly intimidating. She has a big ego and it is clear that a lot of people don't participate out of fear of her critical follow up questions. Going to class was a huge stress for me because of the excessive pressure that she places on her students. I wouldn't take this class again.
Professor Williamson is an amazing professor. She cares about her students and is always willing to talk during office hours. Her class is case study-based, with C-suite executives as guests. She is always willing to explain any hard topics to completion. She is truly one of the best professors I have had at Vanderbilt.
Professor Williamson is the best in the business. Plain and simple. You come to Vandy to take classes with professors like her. Makes a HUGE effort at getting her students to where they want to be. If you show up to class every day ready to work, you will have a great resource in your transition to the professional world. She is the GOAT. Brilliant
Professor Williamson is absolutely amazing. I took two of her Special Topics classes and have learned more from her than any other class at Vanderbilt. She is always there for her students and perfectly balances structure and feedback. Her strict requirements are because she cares. Take her class to have a mentor and a lifelong friend.
(Reposted her difficulty is a 2-3 not a 5) Professor Williamson is absolutely amazing. I took two of her Special Topics classes and have learned more from her than any other class at Vanderbilt. She is always there for her students and perfectly balances structure and feedback. Take her class to have a mentor and a lifelong friend.
Amazing. Her classes are very energetic, and she is incredibly professional. She has a very impressive educational and career backgrounds, and is always willing to help you outside of class as a mentor. If you show respect, attention and participation, she will love you and then it is almost a guaranteed A.
THE BEST FOR THE SCIENCE/MATH CREDIT! . She made class amazing, and she cared so much about us students. The homework was all completion. You have to study a little bit, but it does not stress you out. Great to have in your schedule because it honestly is a mental break from your other classes.
Professor Williamson is well-connected and respected in the business world. This class is easy yet very applicable to the real world, which I liked. She cares deeply about her students, but my sense was she picked favorites despite claiming otherwise. To make a good impression on her, it's important to show up, come prepared, and participate.
Prof. Williamson's CSR class was incredibly enriching. Her dynamic teaching through application and inclusive discussions made every lecture meaningful. The consulting projects and guest speakers provided invaluable experiences. Her accessibility and passion for her students are evident; it is impossible not to feel inspired in her class.
Prof. Williamson was easily my favorite professor yet. As long as you try to engage with the material she teaches and complete your assignments, she'll be your biggest cheerleader. Don't miss any of her classes and don't be on your phone, but you honestly won't do any of these things because of how engaging she is.
The class was not a great environment, saw some other ratings talk about her picking favorites and can absolutely confirm that it's true. She will dock your grades on arbitrary stuff if she doesn't like you & inflate them if she does. Overall just bad vibes, avoid if you can
Yes, both attendance and participation matter, but the claims of favoritism are entirely unfounded. If you are expecting an easy A without effort or skimming the readings, it will be obvious. She creates a safe and productive learning environment and gives constructive feedback. This course's grade is entirely comprised of your contribution/effort.
Best professor I've had at Vanderbilt!! Williamson is so kind and truly cares about her students. If you make the effort to ask a question, in or outside of class time, she truly cares about your interests, career, and about connecting. She connected me to my now-employer! So grateful for the confidence and understanding this course brought me.
Great vibes from Professor Williamson! Cannot stress how valuable the information I learned in this course was in my summer internship! I am eternally grateful for the professional training we got in our capstone project for this class. McKinsey has NOTHING on this class. She is also an executive coach outside of Vandy! Invaluable resource fs.
Professor Williamson is an extremely kind, knowledgeable, and thoughtful professor. She goes out of her way to get to know each and every one of her students on an individual basis. She leads her classes with an unbiased perspective and encourages participation of all kinds. I strongly recommend taking any of her classes.
A gem of a professor. Prof W. brings in amazing speakers, teaches you invaluable life skills, and is such a resource. She invests in her students. You get out what you put in for this course. Couldn't recommend more. Attendance is very mandatory, but much of the work is completion/for feedback, and the outside of class workload is light.
This class is a super easy A but it was pretty time consuming. The whole semester is basically one big group project since she had to change the entire syllabus fall 2025 bc of Trump restrictions. 4 quizzes that you actually have to study for and a ton of group work that culminates in a final presentation. Big on attendance and laptop use in class.
if you go to class and study for the quizzes its not that bad. new syllabus so changes probably coming but def was a little redundant at times. thought prof willaimson was mostly nice and understanding, has high standards for her students, but can come off a bit harsh at times. solid business class, don't know how much i would say i learned though.
Prof. Williamson deeply cares about and invests in her students, giving you every opportunity to succeed beyond her classroom. You don't need background in Family Business to gain invaluable lessons from the class. The course blends academic grounding with real-world insight from 7 highly accomplished guest speakers who you get to network with.
Super knowledgeable and clearly cares about the class and students, but the class can feel intimidating. She definitely prefers students who talk a lot, and it can impact your grade if you're not a hand raiser. Tons of group work, and her grading can sometimes be pretty harsh and hypercritical for a business elective.
Professor Williamson cares a lot about her students and is a great person. There are a couple quizzes that are a little challenging, so recommend studying well for those, but besides that it is not a very demanding course load. She is a brilliant person who brings in tons of inspiring guest speakers. Highly recommend taking her class!
Professor Williamson is the best professor I have taken at Vanderbilt hands down. Her class is amazing, as it combines so many tangible real world skills with business knowledge. I truly feel like I grew so much this semester due to this class. I could not recommend her more. PLEASE TAKE!!!
She's amazing and so caring! She teaches through real company cases focused on stakeholder groups and how to think about investing. The group projects are interesting and actually useful for any career, and she brings in great guest speakers. Definitely take it as a business elective.
A bit stuffy of a classroom, a lot of the assignments are students larping around pretending to care. Very easy class to get an A on if you show up.
Class is kind of a nightmare if you're shy because of participation grade. While she's obviously very accomplished, found her patronizing and rigid.
