She's super intelligent and very nice. She's one of the most down to earth teachers and her intelligence doesn't make you feel stupid, which is really important.

Ms. Neary is a fabulous professor. She is compassionate towards her students and brings a flood of enthusiasm to her lectures. She is a fountain of information which can be intimidating at times, but she makes class interesting.

Mrs. Neary is not too nice. The student who says that there are a group of rude and obnoxious students seems obviously concerned more with what others are doing rather than focusing on others and the material being presented.

I loved her teaching style. I learned soooo much from her over the summer. She has an excellent way of teaching you exactly how things work, so you really learn it, not just memorize it-then forget it.

Neary is one of the best instructors I have had yet at JJC. You can tell that she is truely dedicated to the subject, and really cares about her students. She will spend time going over anything you need to, and she explains things so well. This instructor gets an A+!

She is a concise and intelligent teacher. There is little room for slacking off. Pay attention and study and you should do fine. She shows you how Biology applies to the medical field and everyday life. Highly Recommended!

Great professor. Knowledgeable, helpful. Great lectures. I found the note packets difficult to study from, however, unless you have notes written all over them. Expect to study hard and put in effort, but it pays off. I got an A.

Overall, I liked her, but she was tough. Don't miss class, take good notes. You better be a good student in order to survive her! Don't take her if it's your first semester at JJC. If so, she'll make you hate college.

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!!! Take her class if you can. She will instill a great interest in Biology into you and if you work hard, you will get a good grade. Make sure to take lots of notes or to read the book - her packets are the only downside.

This was an extremely hard class even for a good student. It was my first B in 2 years. Listen to her when she tells you how much time will be involved in this class-I took too many credits!! She is an awsome, but tough instructor! You will learn a lot from her, but be prepared to study hard!!

this professor is hard! i went from an A to a C. she is very talented and knows what she's talking about. if you want to learn about anatomy take her! if you want an easy class; don't take her because you'll have to work hard for a C!

This class was fast paced. But just as promised, all info for tests were in the handouts. You need to really know those handouts because guessing on tests is not easy. I would really recommend Mrs. Neary. She helped me to not just learn, but also to understand!

Excellent excellent prof. cant say enough good things about her. definetly need to pay attention in class, but if you write everything down and take time to study the material, you will do fine. and if you have any troubles, shes more than willing to explain the work to you until you understand it. awesome atittude.

Preparing and studying for the class was very time consuming but worthwhile. All her tests covered her lecture notes! The lab tests were a little more difficult, but that could be solved by studying more for them. Great professor, she's one of my favorite!

Prof Neary was a very nice lady, she really tried to help everyone understand things. The problem I had was that the class was a hard one and she kind of rushed through things. Her lab tests were difficult, her exams were pretty hard. She's not a teacher you can skate by with. I had to drop, but if you can commit to studying I'd recommend her.

Amazing professor! I had her over the summer and I really enjoyed her class. Of course Biology isn't the funnest of classes, but she makes everything easy to understand. As long as you study the notes you take and pay attention you should do good in the class.

Took her for both 151 and 152. She is an incredibly gifted teacher and is very passionate about biology. While her class may not be easy it more than prepares you for upper division coursework at the University level. Study guides are effective when you annotate them during lecture. Tests are difficult but with sufficient you will do fine.

Neary is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I took her for both 151 and 152. She really cares about her students and is so interested in biology. She is very intelligent but understands that students in her class don't have the same degree she does. Her guided notes are very helpful. Tests were tough but managable.

She is crystal clear, well organized and connects concepts so you understand how they relate. She tells you what she's going to teach, she teaches it, then she reviews what she taught you. Great teacher.

Great teacher. Packets cover nearly all info on the tests so it's nice and clear. If u have a knack for bio the class is easy. I never even bought the book and got an A, though I wouldnt recommend doing that.

Professor Neary is a great Biology teacher. The content in Bio 152 is not the easiest, but she makes it about as easy as it gets. She gives out packets that contain everything you need to study, just have to take quick notes and listen to her. If you can't pass her class, you won't make it in a 4 year university.

Great teacher, shes very smart. Don't come into the class thinking that it's going to be easy, because you do have to put in the time, and she lets that be known when you get into the class. Shes organized and lets you know whats expected. Just come to class and study. The book is really helpful because you get an access code for online help.

This woman doesn't mess around. You need to attend this class every lecture. It is mandatory because she gives a lab almost every day she teaches. Her note packets are very clear and she lectures very concisely. No humor, no jokes, she did chapter 1 lecture the 1st day. Be ready. And study. Great professor. One of the best in JJC.

The tests are hard and there's a lot of them, but that's just how Bio152 is. As long as you study and do your work, this class will be great.

Her BIO 149 class was very challenging. It doesn't reflect that she was a bad professor. It was an awesome course. I felt she really cared about her students and even would give little pep talks if students were not doing so well on exams. Read the book every night. If you can't take the heat of a serious bio course, take another professor.

Prof. Neary is a great instructor, and you can tell she enjoys her area of study. Her Bio 152 is thorough and challenging to some who may struggle with the subject. She clearly states her goal is to prep students for a four year university, so be prepared to put forth some effort. I would take her classes again because she is that awesome.

This class was challenging, but only because of the material. She's a very good teacher & lets you come to her office anytime if you need any help. You can see in her face when she's teaching, that she gets excited to be teaching it to the class. The labs are fun. She's very clear on labs, homework, lectures and everything. I would take her again.

You need to put in the work with studying and participation in class. Put in the effort and you'll get an A. I would definitely take her class again.

I'm at the point of no return in a class I'm not very good at.. and the only reason I think I can make it work is the encouragement from Prof. Neary! She's the best. I'm not a science buff, but I'm so thankful for the foundation she set for me in my science requirements.

Wonderful instructor, wonderful course!! This was my favorite course at JJC and my favorite teacher. She is very engaging and cares about her students and the environment. This course is definitely for those truly interested in ecology and doing well in school.

Prof Neary was amazing! One of my fav teachers by far. She kept material specific to what we would need to know in our future careers (not unnecessary info). Every day is a typical lecture and lab. Grading was very fair. Tests were typical- no trick questions. Note packets were given for lectures with the info you need to know for tests. LOVED!

Dont waste your time taking any of the other biology 149 professors. Neary makes sure you work hard for a good grade but is the most reasonable of them all. Shes VERY smart,knowledgeable, and respectable. Attendance only effects your grade a little but if you miss a day you feel so behind so try to go as much as possible. Never used the book once

Her assignments & grading criteria is strait forward but is flexible if you need an extra time to complete assignments. Tests seem overwhelming but she grades in favor of student. take her

Neary is a good and helpful teacher. Her class tough though, lab and lecture exams are hard. She does about 2 hour lecture which in my opinion arent the most Interesting but they arent the worse either. she gave a crazy load of busy work when we changed from in person to online but not too bad in person. I would 100% recommend her if u like Bio
