good pacience, good lecture, good guy
He knows a lot, but never teach you.
mm...not bad..
Speaks too fast and somehow hard to keep up with him!!
Very good teacher, Explains EVERYTHING nice and clearly [loconet]
Teacher from God.... but he needs a new selection of T-shirts
knows alot but doesn't like to share his knowledge
nice guy... helpful too, tests are kinda hard though

Great teacher, nice guy. Always answers your questions no matter what. Fair.
Great teacher! Answers questions very clearly.
Good teacher, He knows his ****
Nice teacher!
very smart and kind. he knows his stuff so well. i got into UNIX 'cuz of Les! he is the best teacher! but his test are kinda hard
Excellent teacher!!
best teacher of the semester - very clear, never had a problem answering qs, and gave lots of easy chances for marks
Fabulous teacher and a nice guy. I do wonder how old he is, though...
Very Good teacher, helpful, Gives good grades.
Great teacher, funny, and helpful. Knows his stuff well. Would love to have him for a teacher again.
excellent
great teacher! his voice is kind of, like, makes you want to sleep. soft soothing voice. but he is very kind and helpful.
very good professor, and his notes are very clearly. He is also very helpful for your studying and questions. very funnny and relaxing class.
Excellent teacher. He is helpful and answers clearly.
He was pretty good, kinda reminded me of Robin Williams
Good teacher, funny as hell, and he gets bonus marks for wearing a Led Zepplin shirt one day (ironically I was wearing the same shirt)
Very good teacher, doesn't jump ahead cause some people already know what he's talking about. He explains things in great detail
The best IPC teacher!
Very good teacher...Clear and easy to talk to....
Fantastic teacher ever. so, helpful. He knows what he is teaching. Guys, if you have his lectures don't miss them!! you'll not understand the language, even you read many books. In otherword listening to his lectures = A or A+
Les is a very good teacher. He makes sure everyone understands what he's taught (except for those that don't speak up) before moving on. Goes slowly and very clear. Great teacher overall. Fair Marker.
He is a super nice professor. He explains your questions in detail if you don?t understand. He has clear notes on his website. You must do all his labs in order to pass this course. Thank you Professor Les Czegel I had great semester.
Currently have this prof for BTI 220. Very professional, excellent teacher, takes the time to teach concepts and makes sure his students understand him. Very helpful.
taught me web development at Sheridan. Great teacher and great notes. Everything is outlined and easy to understand
Not easy, but truly helpful, you will learn a lot from him. Class goes quick and friendly. Great professor for this subject, he will answer to your questions right away.
He is super helpful and clear. He uses a lot of examples which makes this course easy. As long as you attend his class and do your assignments by yourself, you can expect to get A. He is the best teacher ever.
One of the best profs at Seneca. Explains the material meticulously AND provides very clear notes with a lot of examples. He's a cool guy.
Awesome prof! Teaches thoroughly and precisely. Always prepared, never canceled the class. Always helpful and responds to questions via email.
GOOD TEACHER FOR OPS435. HELPFUL. HARD TO GIVE MARKS. HARD EXAMS
Most people in the class where disinterested (not Les' fault). That said, his main goal seemed to be to finish the lecture as fast as possible. He notes are impeccable, but the passion that some other profs have isn't there with Les. Maybe he's bored or frustrated. Overall, he's okay, but not great. You can just memorize his notes for tests.
Terrible teacher. His assignments are horrendous, if you're stuck on a question, you're not getting past any further and you basically are losing marks over 1 question. I would NEVER ever want him as a teacher ever again. I usually don't write reviews about teachers but he is literally by far the worst teacher I've ever had.
Overall, he is one of the best teachers at Seneca @ York. Always organized, provides clear and effective lectures. Assignments reflect well on material taught and so do quizzes and tests. To people who claim not to have enough time for assignments or that they're too hard; Les Czegel has given my class 2 hrsweek to acquire help with those problems
I had him for BSD Unix course and he's a very chill professor- sort of hippie and non-conventional, exactly what you'd want from a Computer Prof. His lectures are all online but he explains in great detail and makes it interesting. Assignments are interesting and not that difficult. I hope I'll get him for Unix scripting next year!
He is a nice and humor guy. His lecture contains all details. With the specific note online, you can easily understand. He is willing to answer your question and make you clear. Overall, a good teacher.
Quiz and exams are very hard.
lectures are only mandatory when there are tests, very nice straight forward hilarious guy, easy class
Had him for first semester in the BSD program, was an alright guy. Funny fella, didn't feel like I learned as much from the lectures as I did from the three assignments he gave. No one attends the lab periods, as those three assignments were all the labs there were. Make sure to read the lecture notes online though.
Quizes and exams are hard but Overall, He is a great Prof. Would definitely take him again.
Awesome prof. There to help you and make sure you understand. People don't attend lab, but it's a super useful time to get questions answered as no one else is there! ;D He is good at explaining things and it's a fun course :)
Though rigid, Les is a great professor. Probably the best professor for first semester programs. You don't need a textbook, since everything can be found in his website. Pay attention and attend all lectures, as they are essential to understand commands and concepts from shell script. Also, he gives huge assignments to be done online (in Matrix).
He's a straightforward prof - you do the work, you get the grade. None of the assignments or tests are really difficult as long as you study, no trick questions or anything like that. His lectures get kinda boring but they do help.
Took him at Sheridan for Linux class. Amazing nonstop 3 hour long classes. You must study well to pass. He explains things really well in the class, but should have gone a bit slower.
Les is one of the best profs. He teaches clearly and I love his dry humor. There are three assignments which are due each month. Those assignments gives students practice over his lectures which really helped to study. Quizzes are 6 questions of mostly fill in the blanks. Study for those and you'll see that they are not hard. A midterm and a final.
A good prof, lecturing in a hilarious way. Everything he would talk about is on his website but you gotta have to attend lecture to fully get what is in the quizzes and tests
Les is by far the best prof I had at Seneca. His lectures are straight forward, replies to your questions fast, and the Assignments help you study for the tests.
Probably the best prof out there! You can tell he genuinely loves teaching and his lectures are amazing. He has so much personality too and although the course material is a bit bland, he makes it interesting just by the way he deliveries the material. Highly recommend going to all his lectures.
One of the best professors I've had. His lectures are informative, and funny. Teaches and uses personal experience as a way to show us the end results of why we need to learn this. Great teacher, also pretty laid back and easy to talk to after class. If you get Lez then you have a great teacher
Great guy, clearly knows what he's teaching, he can answer most questions you throw at him pretty well. I wouldn't skip his lectures though, his site doesn't cover the application of the material, lab classes aren't necessary to attend. Very few things you'll be graded on however, he gives generous part marks though. Tests/quizzes don't take long.
Nice guy, marks very hard from a rulebrick (no part marks). Midterm was very difficult and requires assignment knowledge beforehand even though it was due a week after.
Les is a wonderful person and an even better teacher. Clearly cares about his students, and helps you learn along the way. The online assignments that are provided on Matrix are incredibly helpful in learning and aren't unreasonably difficult. If you can do the assignments and the quizzes, you are well prepared for the exams.
very nice professor just do the assignment and read course note you will score good
really good professor go for it you will learn something if you take him best professor i have so far in the program know his stuff, organised, his assignments are really helpful study from assignment you will get A.
Awesome prof. Be sure to attend lectures and watch his examples, if you just study off the course notes alone it wont be enough to write the commands on the midterm or exam. The assignments were really helpful in prepping, hes super fair in his testing. A really great guy and teacher. Put the effort in and youll get an A.
This is an absolute best professor. If you pay attention to his lectures and actually study the subject, you can easily get an A. Never try to trick students in tests or quizzes. Tell funny jokes, have a soothing teaching voice and he is very experienced in his field.
Les is fantastic. We had him in the semester that transition into online (due to the pandemic), and he handled the change very well. His lecture style is very clear and to the point -- he goes over his easily accessible notes, runs the scripts, and asks if we need clarification. His testing is fair, but a LITTLE harder than I expected, so study!
In my opinion, he is one of the best professors at Sheridan College. If you are serious to study Linux, he is a great choice. You just need to join the lectures to understand what he teaches in class so the test is very easy. He is a person who not only wants you to have a good score but also wants you to achieve something after his course.
Honestly my fave prof at Seneca so far. Professor Czegel is really easygoing, humorous and kind. He and the course are not here to screw you over. Attend the lectures, study, do the assignments, and you'll pass. I'm really happy I had him as a professor, thank you sir!
Amazing prof, He is so good at breaking his lectures down it to tiny easy to understand bits and takes the time to make sure every student understands the material properly. Apart from that he is a really nice guy and has funny/interesting analogies as examples to his solutions. I really wished he taught courses other than Unix, he is the GOAT!
Professor Czegel is a great teacher. His lectures are easy to follow and understand. He is also very patient with students and happy to answer any questions posed. The quizzes and test questions themselves were not difficult but all his quizzes have a 15-minute time limit, so know your stuff, or it'll be a challenge.
Great Heart Just come to lecture he makes it light and easy to understand and then its fun
His classes are amazing to attend. He is caring and really looks after his students. He will go out of his way just to answer questions that are or are not related to the course you are taking. Overall one of the best prof to learn from.
Les is the most amazing professor on earth. Just attend class, listen carefully to what he says, and finish the assignments, you will be fine. He keeps asking if you understand the problem or not, and probably will explain until you grasp everything. Never miss a question. Highly recommend Les if you take Unix course.
Les is the best Professor that I have ever had. I feel very lucky to be having Les as my instructor this semester! He made me love Unix, Linux systems. Thanks a lot! You are the best Professor ever!
First semester done, Les was one of, if not the best, prof I've ever had. Not only is he easy to talk to and contact outside of class but his lectures get close to being fun. He likes to joke around and make his classes very casual, while also teaching you a whole lot. Difficulty is average but he really left an impression on me.
I didn't manage to finish the semester with Les, but so far he seemed a very good professor and a very caring person. R. I. P. Les. Hope you are in a better place.
Honestly, I never even took Les for ULI but from what I know from friends and anyone who took his class I can tell that Les was a great professor. Even though I don't know him, I know he was and always shall be one of the best ULI profs that Seneca has to offer. You will be missed Les, you're in a much better place now. RIP.
R.I.P, your notes got my friend and I through someone else's lecture.
Greatest prof ever
Les was one of the best profs I ever had, was not able to complete a semester with him but only 5-6 lectures made me realize that he was a great guy. His notes are literally one of the best for studying unix/linux, I can't believe that we lost such a good prof, I hope he is in a better place now, R.I.P to the best of all time.
Professor Les is one of the best professors in my lifetime and will be forever. He cares for his students from his heart! I still remember he said to us in class, "If I die one day, I want to die while I am lecturing to my students..." Could not believe that we lost such a wonderful professor...We want to be your students forever, professor Les!
Les Czegel is a great professor. He answers all questions thoroughly and is approachable even after class. His assignments are straightforward if you pay attention in class and the quizzes and tests are the same. Definitely take him if you get the chance.
He was an excellent teacher, he had a lot of patience and also told us about his passion for music and guitars. He would talk for 3 hours straight without stopping to rest but it was always entertaining and enlightening. A sad loss his passing, RIP Les. PS: I was looking to contact him to get his LINUX notes and came across this sad news.
