Great professor!

Very easy teacher. Her methods are fun and clear. She iw great everyone should take her.

The best math professor I have ever taken. She givs very clear examples and is always willing to help when problems arise. Her examples are always step by step and very easy to follow.Math is not my best subject, but I have found that in her class I am doing very well. Also very nice and understanding of her students.

Mrs. Sterrett is a really good teacher. I had her in a small class so that made it even better. I can tell that she is sincere about what she does. She was really able to bring across the concepts really well and she was patient with the class as well. You certainly can't go wrong by taking one of her classes. If you do, it's probably you're fault!

Wow! What a great teacher! I hate math, and still do, but she made it easy to understand. She puts everything in a step by step form, so it is very easy to grasp. Just take the notes she puts up and do the homework and its an easy A.

If you do homework & study guides you'll do fine on tests. I hate math and still do, but her class & teaching method were excellent! Highly recommend her!

A little bit boring but a good teacher, really makes sure the entire class is "getting" it before moving forward, makes new concepts very easy to understand.

Ms. Sterrett is the best math teacher at IRCC hands down. If you are one of those ones where math is not your strong point, you will definitely want to take her. She will help you in every way possible, offer extra credit, show you tons of examples and tons of ways to conquer them all! Sterrett is the best, wouldn't recommend anyone over her!

Great teacher her class was my second try at mat 1033 and in my first class i was getting 60's and 40's on tests on her first test i got an 89.75 and the test grades kept gettin better she very undertanding and willing to help you great teacher you be doing urself a favor by taking her class

If math isn't your strong point then this is the class for you. Dr. Sterett clearly explains all concepts, and gives a practice test for you to complete before a test. She also seems to truely care that you succeed in her class and in future math classes. Grades fairly.

EXCELLENT TEACHER!! very nice lady, gives very detailed notes and makes the material very easy to understand. She also gives good reviews for all the tests. overall she is a great teacher and i would recommend her to anyone!

This professor is GREAT and very helpfull. She goes over all material and answers as many questions as you have during class before she starts on a new concept. She also gives study guides for all tests including the final and goes over questions regarding that before the tests. As long as you study and try, you should get a pretty good grade!

Good teacher! I hate math but I understood her teaching technique! It's hard to fail this class whether you like math or not!

MUST devote your all to this class, if not you will fail. She grades very hard on test, so know what your'e doing. Very nice and teaches good. No mercy for students, so if u need extra help to pass class take another teacher because you MUST pass all test!

Loved this class. She made math so easy and really explained math problems well. She wants everyone to understand math. She will do anything to help you understand math. Definitely take her!

She is a good teacher. However, no mercy and plenty of work to do. We were always at least 5 min past end class time. Never out early. She knows her material. She grades hard. If you know math, don't be afraid to take her.

AMAZING! She was sooo helpful and always was willing to go over problems(no matter how many)!Gave lots of extra credit opportunities worth lots of points!Homework isnt a must but she quizzes off of the HW problems so it helps. Uses an online program for extra credit and quizzes which helped with my understanding tremendously.Best math teacher@IRCC

Mrs. Sterrett is very patient and explains the concepts very well. She is always willing to help. She knows her math and is an excellent teacher. I highly recommend having her as a teacher. Don't pass her up.

Awesome teacher! She can get even the biggest math dummy from scared to super in math. Took the class in summer 08 after a withdrawl in the spring session. Never had an A in my life in math, yet she got me there! Explains things well and good sense of humor. I returned to school after 25 years. Math is my Achilles heal ... take this class!

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT teacher!!! She knows math and expalins anything you don't get. Usually gives extra credit and practice test and answers any question so you are ready for the test. Go to class do all homeworks (it helps you understand) and ask question if you need to. Oh yeah did i mention... shes a GREAT teacher!

She is a great teacher. I never had an "A" in any math class in high school, and this was my first A+. If you don't understand math she is very thorough, and makes sure you understand before you go to the next session. It's alot of homework, and online assignments, but it's worth it. Study the study guides and do problems you will ACE the test!

I took her for intermediate algebra and college algebra.Excellent teacher.I would reccomend her for both.She takes attendance and gives you bonus points for perfect attendance.Also gives multiple extra credit oppurtunities, You need to do the homework,Wiley online Maple quizzes and tests(only the final is multiple choice) to do well.

Online class. Responds quickly to emails. Keep up with the homework. She gives you 2 extra credit assignments if needed. I would recommend her!

Great teacher!! SHe goes over everything step by step, take notes and examples she gives. Uses online modules and is an easy way to bump up your test grades. Gives extra credit!! Nice, nice teacher and if you dont understand, will go over and over. Gives partial credit on tests, so show your work!

This instructor is GREAT! She answers all your questions and has no problem helping her students. There is alot of homework however, if you are good at math you should haveno problem getting a good grade.

Best teacher EVER!! I am the worst person at math. I took this class 2 times prior to her and failed. Shes got the best way of teaching out of all the teachers i have had in 2 years of college. If you take her and do the work and show up you will 100% pass. Sterrett is AWESOME!

Great, great professor! I took this class with Hensley and failed. I retook it with her and got a B! A lot of homework but it really pays off! She takes time out to make sure everyone understands, and you can ask as many questions as needed! if you have trouble in math, she is the way to go!

I would highly recommend her to other students. I had her on campus and attendance is mandatory. The power points and lecture explained things I found difficult. Test were not hard but if you didn't have time to finish Homework you were not passing the test. If you have problems with math take her !

Goes over the hw which IS what the test is all about! do your hawkes and your good! I've neverrrr gotten a A let alone a B, so I was very proud of myself when I earned an A! But you must stay on track, and keep up with everything!great teacher' highly recommended!!

She is such an awesome teacher. Gives a lot of homework but most of it is optional. Usually a C math student and I walked out of her class with an A. She deff makes math easier to understand and not as complicated

She's pretty down to earth. She gives handouts for every class that you have to print and bring to class for each lesson, explains clearly. The practice exams are exactly like the tests. AND she lets you use a 4x6 NOTECARD during each exam! GREAT teacher!!!

In the beginning of this class, as a terrible math student, I had confidence that I'd get a good grade in this class. She is very clear, directional, and steady. I wish I would have applied myself more because I could definitely have an A in this class. The only thing I did not like was that the last test before the final was on mathxl.

Ms. Sterrett is strict about attendance and you will have to print handouts for each lesson. She speaks and teaches clearly. I definitely recommend her to everyone. As far as using the textbook, you can pay for online acess code. Some people used the textbook to do the extra work that they didnt have to do.

Mrs. Sterret was a great math teacher. Her notes are the best i've ever had, she goes step by step with each new lesson and goes over the homework for those with questions. There is a fair amount of h.w for math and she gives easy to read handouts too. I loved going to class, and i will be looking forward to College Algebra with her as well!!

She is a great teacher, very clear, straight to the point and great notes. The key to her class is taking the notes, she teaches u the best methods and helps whenever needed. Goes over homework questions you dont understand and gives a study guide. I have an A in her class without ever doing the textbook work.

easy class, take notes and you'll understand. she is very clear. the only thing is she takes forever to grade exams. by the time you get your grade on one, its time for the next.

Very tough, even the most disciplined student will struggle, that is if math is your weak suit. I would not recommend. I happily gave 100% and still passed with a C...

I had her for liberal arts 1 & 2 and received B's. She is a really good teacher, she wants everyone to understand the material. She goes over the work & she has a great teaching method. The only downfall is she does take a little bit longer than normal to grade work which can be quite annoying

She makes everything very clear and easy, plus she's one of the kindest teachers! The class is fast-paced with lots of assignments but is manageable. She's the best teacher if you aren't good at math. I kind of wish I needed more math for my program so I could take her other classes and keep actually learning math for the first time in my life.

Easy class as long as your work through the courseware, low grade is excused and there are extra credit opportunities.

Took Lib Art I online, expect to spend lots of time on mathxl like anyother math class, you can only bring ONE notecard when you test at the lab. She uses discussion board alot to help students & answer questions, she drops 2 lowest quiz grades like 12 total, doesnt drop any test. I dislike math had to take 1 more to graduate its pretty easy subj.

Such a sweet lady with a lot of patience and a great professor. Although be prepared to spend A LOT of time on Math XL doing problems. It's such a drag but great practice for her test which aren't multiple choice. Not an easy A, you have to work, attend class & study.

Her explanations are so clear and point-by-point, it's impossible to not understand unless you weren't paying attention. Go to class. 10/10 best math teacher, TAKE HER!!

All work completed on mathxl. Provides helpful outlines on completing assignments. Very helpful. Be prepared to work Offers extra credit. Reasonable and works with you, just do your part. First time taking a math course online and really enjoyed it.

Professor Sterrett is the best math teacher I've ever had. She explains things perfectly so that they make sense, she's patient and she won't make you feel stupid, she's very kind and you'll feel comfortable asking her questions. I wish she taught more of the courses I need for my degree.

I've struggles with math and have probably sat in all the different math's professors classes but she by far is the BEST MATH PROFESSOR the school has to offer. So clear and precise, her examples & her teaching methods are so understandable, as long as you pay attention & ask questions you are guaranteed to pass

BEST MATH PROFESSOR. It was my first time taking an online course and it was in a subject I struggled in but her teaching method and her clarity made it easy to grasp a concept that I did not understand. She records her lectures & utilizes powerpoints, handouts & the textbook to teach the material. I would recommend anyone & everyone take her.

Outstanding Professor! Very helpful & knowledgable. Be warned that this is NOT AN EASY CLASS. If you are looking for an easy math class, look elsewhere. However, that said, there are different options to compliment different learning styles. So, if you fail this class it is your own fault.

I wasn't sure if taking a math class online was a good idea at first. But it was not that bad. She gives you a TON of tools to use. USE THEM ALL! It took a little bit to grasp everything. Tests are not easy. She does allow a note card which was a savior. He in class lectures are the best over any other teacher so far.

She's by far the best math professor in the whole school. Mrs. Sterrett is very helpful and she's very patient. I would totally recommend her as a professor.

Great Math teacher right here. Professor S makes everything understandable in her class. She works on a fast pace, so if there is any confusion stop and ask her questions, she is always ready to help!

Mrs. Sterrett really is a great math professor. She is very clear in what is expected of you, and gives great feedback. If you follow her schedule of activities, and don't get behind, you will pass. I also like the fact she allows a note card for tests at the testing center, which helped out a lot since this was only a 6 week class.

Excellent teacher, very organized, and interested in student success. Expect lots of homework, multiple quizzes, and four tests. Excellent communication through Blackboard and answers emails within 24-48 hours. I would definitely take another class with Professor Sterrett again!

She's wonderful! I failed this class previously with a different teacher but i got a B+ in hers! she helps you with anything you don't understand and does a lot of examples while doing her lessons. Very smart and very smart teacher, i highly recommend taking her math class. Also, you don't need a textbook just buy the mymathlab code.

This was my 3rd and last chance at taking and passing MAT1033. She is so clear, and helpful. She honestly wants the student to understand the material. I would not have passed otherwise. I would not enjoy the pythagorean theorem or know how to find the slope of a line.

She makes math easy to understand. I am not a math person at all, but she explains it in a way that makes sense. She offers a TON of resources to help you understand the math. If you don't understand it one way, she explains it or shows it differently in another place. I would take her course again and HIGHLY recommend her to anyone taking math.

Mrs. Sterrett is wonderful! She's one of the best math professors I have ever had. Trust me, not saying she's going to give you an A. You must work for it, show up on time, do all of your homework, and score decent on your test. My strongest subje t is not math but she helped me grasp the concepts way more!

Professor Sterrett is a very organized and clear instructor. There was never a moment I felt lost during lessons or was uncertain about our assignments. Her teaching assistants also make themselves very available for any additional help. Math is not my strong point, but after her class I feel ready for future courses. Highly recommend!

Would 100% recommend Mrs. Sterrett!! Although you have to know what you're doing because tests aren't multiply choice, but she does give credit if you show work and get the concept. She's really clear when teaching material and always with stop if you don't understand or need help with new material. If you're not good with math she's the teacher!

MrsSterrett is actually a very fair professor! She tells you exactly what you need to know for each test and there isn't too much homework! With an express class there's A LOT of homework for the first 1 or 2 sections but then it goes to normal. She is very nice and is always willing to help! I am terrible at math but shes a good professor!

Super sweet lady over the computer, her lectures are all there and give you every piece of information you need plus some. Had a family emergency and she was super understanding. The final is completely optional, if you need it you can take it type thing. The extra credit will help you in the end so do it! Everything is self explanatory.

I am terrible at Math and just watching each video with her handouts helped me every step of the way. Communication was on point. She gives extra credit, and an optional final. ( 4 proctored chapter test Expected) Show your work and ask her to go over it may earn you a few extra points. Just ask. She is a wonderful teacher I would take again.

I'm terrible at math but Professor Sterrett is an amazing teacher. She is a fair grader, very caring, and gives extra credit. The only way you wont pass is if you dont try or do any work. I wish I could take her for all math classes.

Typical math class. Lots of lectures and lots of homework, but how else can you learn math without repetition? There were 4 tests, but she gives you flexible deadlines, extra credit opportunities, and an OPTIONAL cumulative exam that you can use to replace a bad test score with. Do the work, and you'll pass easy!

Mrs. Sterrett is a caring teacher and gives her students plenty of opportunities to pass the class including extra credit assignments. You can reach her outside of the classroom by Zoom or at her office for extra help. Yes, there is lots of homework and quizzes. Her test are worth 75% of your final grade. Do the work and you will be fine.

Lesilie Sterrett is the best math professor I've had. Her video lectures & accompanying handouts are easy to understand. Use the handouts & you will be prepared for tests. The two proctored tests allow a front/back page with formulas & conversions, etc... leave some room on the sheet for the first test to add new stuff for the cumulative final.

If you struggle with math prepare yourself. Sterrett is a great math teacher, HOWEVER lots of homework and quizzes that is extremely time consuming and doesn't really make a huge difference in your overall grade. Tests are heavily weighted- 75% of your grade. STUDY/PRACTICE FOR TESTS. She does offer extra credit, again time consuming but worth it.

Professor Sterrett's class is challenging but manageable with dedication. The workload is heavy, but the video lectures and practice problems are very helpful. Using Unstuck ai and staying on top of the material can make a big difference.

Professor Sterrett was a relief to me because I am not the brightest when it comes to math, but her class was easy enough for me to get an A. There is a lot of homework, and she grades your attendance, but she also offers extra credit. If I could, I would take her for all my math courses.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! Many extra credit opportunities, worked with me while I was out of town for an EXAM, consistently showed interest and care, very kind and GREAT to learn from. AMAZING, would absolutely take again. I wish I took her for previous math courses. THANK YOU Prof. Sterrett!!!! :-)

She's amazing! She teaches very thouroughly, as long as you pay attention you will understand the content. There are many assignments that serve as good oppurtunity for learning. She seems like a fun person. However, if you aren't strong in math, be aware that as of Fall 2025, the tests were worth 70% of the total grade.
