Baradel was a great professor. She's quick to respond to emails and is very helpful if you need help. Her tests are fairly easy and come straight from her power points. She gives out food during class which was very nice. She also offers extra credit. Would take again!
Leslie is a professor who genuinely wants you to get pumped about being healthy. She brings healthy breakfast foods to class and hands them out as rewards for answering questions correctly. She's extremely fun, energetic and enthusiastic and I really looked forward to my health lectures.
Her lectures are clear and simple. The class itself is fair and reasonably easy if you study a little. No reason why you shouldn't take it.
Very good professor for APPH 1040 (Health) class. Her lectures are clear, and she even gives out (healthy) candy sometimes. There are tons of opportunities for extra credit. She sometimes invites guest speakers - for that, YMMV.
Very nice professor who cares for the students. Tests are a little tricky with some random statistics, so study powerpoints and go to class to get an A. Lots of extra credit, very little homework, with 3 one-page papers. Not the best at sending announcements, so keep your eyes on the schedule! She's technologically challenged, but not a huge deal.
Probably the easiest APPH section. The exams are relatively simple, and come straight from ideas and verbatim text mentioned in the powerpoints. There are no gotcha statistics questions or anything esoteric asked on the tests, its straightforward memory questions. No need to attend the lecture, and there are 4 points of extra credit.
Extra credit helps so much!! Do not take this class thinking you will never have to study because tests cover a wide range of health topics that you may have never seen before. That being said, if youre willing to put in the work, the class is an easy A and Baradel is a very funny, happy lady.
Baradel is really nice and understands that health isn't your priority, which is nice. She is a little disorganized though, and some of the test questions can be specific. But overall, it's a pretty easy A. I put in minimal effort and ended with a 90 (thanks to extra credit)
Great health professor, tests are straightforward and lectures are easy to follow along. Has guest speakers and great energy
super nice, assignments are sometimes long but easy, you get a cheat sheet for tests, cares about students and even says this class shouldn't be stressful that to let her know if you ever feel its too much
Baradel was relatively clear and concise when it came to video lectures. She is generous with extra credit and is flexible with students. She likes to talk about her own experiences as a dietitician which can be interesting for students.
Extremely easy A!! On Monday's she posts about an hour long recorded lecture, there's an easy quiz, and most weeks there is an assignment that'll take roughly an hour of your time. She gave students many opportunities for extra credit but to be honest, if you do what you're supposed to every week, you won't need it. No excuse to not make an A.
I took her online health class this semester and it was awesome!! You basically completed everything on your own time by Sunday @11:59 PM each week. Asynchronous with occasional office hours. Lectures are pre-recorded with quizzes. She is super nice and approachable. I would definitely recommend taking this class for an easy/interesting 2 credits!!
Incredibly easy class and such a kind professor. 10/10 recommend!! Such an easy choice!
A super easy class with a great professor. I highly recommend taking this course!
Professor Baradel is great at making sure health is easy while also interesting. This class can get annoying occasionally, but the workload is perfectly reasonable and the quizzes aren't bad at all. Don't buy the textbook, but you may need to watch some of the lectures because there are some specific questions. A great choice for APPH 1040.
Lesley Baradel is caring, enthusiastic and laid out the course in an easy-to-follow, easy-to-complete manner. The class is a much needed break from other rigorous courses and can add some great value to your life due to its abundance of relevant, practical content.
Missing one assignment during syllabus week dropped my final grade by over six points. I reached out to Professor Baradel multiple times about this but she was completely unsympathetic. She denied my requests to schedule a meeting or office hours and replied to me with one sentence emails. Probably the worst professor I have had at this school.
Super chill and easy class with no tests. All there is are weekly quizzes (easy since they're open note), weekly assignments, and two projects. Don't bother going to lecture.
Quizzes are online. Easy assignments
She's a great professor for APPH. Don't even need to show up for class, just watch out for deadlines of assignments and complete them on time and you should be good. Easy recommend!
Such a sweet woman. she is extremely knowledgeable about health and wellness and her lectures are very educational. quizzes are pretty easy and lots of opportunities for extra credit. one annoying thing was the self- improvement video project, but it wasnt even too bad.
Super easy wellness credit. If you do all of the homework assignments on time with a regular amount of effort, you should do very well in the class. The lectures are a little long sometimes, but the weekly quizzes are simple if you take the time to listen to them/read the slides. Overall, solid choice.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! She gives so much extra credit and has the best lectures and she knows exactly what she is discussing. Also, her class was very enjoyable and there were no midterms or final just bi-weekly quizzes that were all open note. Easiest class I have ever taken, would defiantly take her again. She really does care about her students.
The EASIEST class at GT. You'll get an A if you spend 1-2 hours on this course weekly. You don't even need to show up to any of the classes or do the extra credit she offers (+3 point to overall grade). Everything (including lecture recordings) are online. Quizzes and assignments are easy. Just turn everything in ON-TIME and you will get an A.
This is the sweetest lady at the school. I enjoyed her lectures because you actually learn very useful information in this class. You don't have to go to class because she posts her powerpoints but I would recommend going as much as you can just because shes such a great lady. Do your assignments and open note quizzes and you make an A
Easy class. Informative if you want. Some of the activities are questionably useful, but it's fine because they're short anyway. Baradel cares!
Glad she doesn't take mandatory attendance and overall good professor
Lots of lectures and articles are posted but most of the quizzes are common sense. She cares a lot about her students and is a good resource to have at Tech. Great professor to get health credit for with minimal effort, while still learning and improving your health
I took her during the Ignite 5-week term. While there is more assignments, assignments are easy to complete and quizzes are relatively straightforward. She gives a ton of extra credit and overall it was a good class with not that much effort to get a good grade. There were also no tests and everything in class was posted on canvas.
Brings confident and knowledgeable vibes into lectures
she is chill. attendance isnt mandatory. she assigns a decent bit of work but its all pretty easy. there are quizzes too but they take home and open note/internet... just do the work and you get an A.
She is very passionate about the subject material and does a great job lecturing. Although she gives a lot of assignments and quizzes, they are very easy and don't take much time. No final/midterms.
I absolutely loved her. Easy class, little work, if that's what you care about, but lectures were amazing. I legitimately felt inspired by her lectures and the content she taught. She loves the content, and does a great job getting us to love it too. I could note rate any higher. Please take and show up to class, she deserves the participation.
Pref Baradel's lectures were educational and helpful. But she did give lots of quizzes and assignments. I'd say it's still an easy A if you finish all of them on time.
don't even need to watch lectures to get an A on the hw/quizzes. super easy class just submit everything on time and you're guaranteed an A.
Great professor, and a very light asynch course you can use to supplement others. Just stay on top of weekly stuff and don't miss deadlines, which is super easy and not even really time-consuming.
Easy class. Short weekly assignments and online lectures. Pretty easy A.
Def take her! I had APPH online, each week had 1/2 hr vids coupled with short quizzes or some activities. Very caring, she gave us weekly emails, very passionate about health subjects too. Do activities/personal project (pretty much participation) and take the quizzes and you'll get an A.
Definitely take her! Each week had a video lecture with a quiz and/or assignment that were fairly short. The assignments were pretty fun and she was easily reachable and super understanding.
Super light class that somehow actually helped my health during the semester -- Like it helped me identify and eliminate negative stuff and create some healthier habits. A few quizzes and small submissions, and the asynch structure helps save tons of time. She's a great professor, and this course is awesome.
As others have noted, just turn in everything on time and you'll end up with an A. If you get B's in the majority of your quizzes but turn in all of your assignments on time, you'll still probably end up with an A. Overall, a very straightforward, pleasant, and fun class.
Very easy professor, took this class for short summer session 1 and everything was online async open note. I reached out once for help on an assignment and she replied very quickly and was very helpful. 4 weeks long and around 1-3 quizzes due on sundays every week. Assignments and projects were very easy, so just make sure to do everything.
Took during late short summer term. Very easy class as long as you turn in your assignments and follow very clear, straight-forward grading criteria. Easy extra credit opportunities. Very passionate lectures. Open note quizzes.
Easy course and kind lady. Take APPH 1040 with her, you won't regret.
When I took APPH 1040, I only showed up to less than 25% of lectures and still got an A+. In the classes I did attend, Professor Baradel seemed to be enthusiastic and made learned health more enjoyable. I recommend her over other professors as the graded components were extremely easy to complete as long as the rubric was followed.
An easy A if you turn everything in and attend. She's knowledgable. Rating of 3 because she changed the syllabus a few weeks into the semester (past the drop deadline) to make attendance 10% of our grade. She also posts assignments way too late, so you can't do stuff early. Disorganization and late policy changes made it hard to stay organized.
Probably the best professor to take for 1060. Do your work and participate, and you'll be fine.
TAKE HER! Very helpful and responds quickly. This was a very straight-forward class and her instructions were very clear. Great experience!
This class was SO easy. All assignments are open note (a.k.a. open Canvas), so it was very easy to succeed! She is so nice, knowledgeable, and fun! I found her lectures super interesting, too. A little disorganized, but that's okay.
Dr. Baradel is very passionate. The assignments and quizzes are easy, and she provides great feedback.
She's a very engaging lecturer who truly cares about the material and her students. The quizzes were straightforward if you referenced her slides, and all of the assignments were fairly simple if you followed directions. My only complaint is that attendance was ungraded until around halfway through the semester when she made it mandatory.
Very easy professor. She's wonderful; try to speak up in class if you can (or want to -- it's not required), because she genuinely feels interested in her students.
Such a great professor! I took a lot from her class and found her to be incredibly kind and caring. Definitely recommend!
Prof Baradel was the perfect person to take APPH 1040 under. It was a quick and easy course, and her lectures were engaging. I would also recommend taking the summer short-semester version, as I was able to knock it out pretty easily even with an internship. Highly recommend! Just pay attention to her announcements to log things enough days.
I had her for the short summer semester and she was great. She emphasizes that she tries to make this class as less stressful as possible, and it really was. The assignments are helpful and not just busy work, and she tries to involve everyone in class discussions. There are some presentations, but as an introvert, they helped me better my skills.
Professor Baradel is great! She convey's all of the information relevant to APPH 1040 in an interesting and concise way. She understands that APPH 1040 is an institute requirement, so she makes all of the assignments easy to follow! The grading in this class is amazing and she really focuses on providing the material for success in this class.
Professor Baradel is an enthusiastic teacher, but that's why I gave her a low rating. This is a health class, so I don't think she should ask students to shut off their laptops to watch TED Talks or assign three busy-work assignments a week. I recommend choosing a different health professor because most students take this class for an easy credit.
Professor Baradel does care about the course but for students looking for a chill health class this is not one of them. There are 25+ assignments throughout the semester (not hard just tedious and annoying) all outside of class and attendance is required. Do not recommend.
Great professor. She lectures and then you complete reflection assignments outside of class on your own. It is busy work, but I'd rather do personal reflection than quizzes and tests like other health teachers. Overall great and helpful lectures on health.
Professor Baradel is very friendly and passionate about what she teaches and made sure that her class was not causing additional stress for students. Class grade was mostly made up by the weekly assignments which were easy and did not take long to complete. Lectures sometimes felt a little pointless but did learn some meaningful wellness concepts.
The lectures are mostly useless, but attendance is mandatory. There are three assignments every week that are annoying, but are easy. It's very hard not to get an A if you turn everything in (it's only 5% per day late too), but the class is still a headache. Not bad as an only option, but I'd try to find someone more lax or take health online.
Good professor and a great human being who seems friendly. No quizzes or assessments, but a LOT of busy work. Grading standards were extremely simple and easy, but this was just time-consuming and I felt it was not worth the effort. Attendance was also mandatory, would recommend an async section instead. The lectures were not that useful.
Professor Baradel is an amazing person and you can tell she is very passionate about this subject. She is caring and understanding. However, lectures are somewhat useless and boring. No quizzes or tests, but there is a lot of busy (albeit very easy) work. The Canvas page is well organized and everything you need is on there.
Professor Baradel's class was very easy and convenient. The assignments were sometimes a bit tenuous but graded very lightly -- mostly busy work. The attendance was mandatory, but given a few absences and also lectures were very informative and interesting.
You can find lecture slides on Canvas for assignments, in case you miss a class or didn't pay attention.
Class is mostly busy work by Dr Baradel is very caring and knows about the subject. Class was mostly used as time to work on other classes and the assignments were graded very liberally.
Makes class as easy as she can-- and very informative! Just stay on top of submitting the homeworks. They are essentially participation credit, but there is a lot of them
Classes = lectures - people do work for other classes. She wants devices away during videos 3 group projects Attendance = mandatory - point solutions. 2-3 assignments/week = journal entries or worksheets, busy work & max 1 hr/week, no quizzes, self-improvement project due at end of the semester. really nice professor w/passion for teaching
Professor Baradel was very responsive via email and did not want the class to be difficult. She wanted us to learn about our mental and physical health and sends out opportunities for career and academic development. I definitely recommend taking her class!
Very responsive to email and made the class as easy as possible. Sent out opportunities for career opportunities, which I thought was very sweet.
Took online async, 2-3 assignments open up per week due Monday 11:59pm. Slightly frustrating cuz some weeks I had more time and could've knocked out the next month's worth of assignment but only opens up 2 per week. Always sent out weekly announcements and plenty of reminders and always responded within the next couple hours of emailing her.
Really nice person, very easy class. Attendance is mandatory but you can miss a few without any consequences (i think 4 or smthn). Don't have to pay attention in lecture most of the time, there are no tests but there are hws, not time consuming at all though. Great prof, I def recommend.
mandatory attendance but its just a health class, amazing lecturer tho
It's a required health course but Prof. Baradel is really caring and enthusiastic about it. There are no tests or quizes and the primary assignments are just quick summaries/takeaways of the lecture slides.
If you are just looking to get the required health credit done take this course! Mandatory attendance at lectures will take up about 2 hours, and then there's only like 2 hours of busy work a week. No tests, no quizzes, no long essays. Very nice professor, and lectures are interesting if you do decide to pay attention
She is a very nice person, but there is just so much work for the class. Talked to friends in other sections w/ other profs and they had it way easier. Be prepared for a lot of writing.
Easy class, no exams or finals, but there's a good amount of busy work. Extremely kind teacher and is very enthusiastic about her topics. Would def take again
It's a straightforward online class, about 2 to 3 assignments per week that take very little time, especially if you do an audio submission. No exams or finals either.
Amazing professor. APPH 1040 is a easy class, easy A. Just do the homeworks and you'll be fine. No tests or quiz. She's very clear and caring towards the students too. One of the nicest professors I've met.
Dr. Baradel is extremely caring and her class is super easy. Tons of busy work HW, but not graded harshly. Overall, I enjoyed the class. She takes PointSolutions attendance for small portion of your overall grade.
Took this course asynchronously. We had a lecture and a few assignments posted each week. The lectures were quite engaging and required little work. Class focused on dimensions of wellness and helped me learn a lot of strategies to improve each! Overall, great class with a great professor and TAs who are always willing to help.
I took the online 1040 course, and it was very light. We had an average of 2 assignments per week, and max it would take if you're focused is two hours each week. Highly recommend the online course.
She really cares about the topic and students and generally grades fairly leniently.
