Very hard tests, once you get the hang of them you know how to study. She gives you all the notes up front (for the whole semester) and review notes for the test. She's very nice and Scottish, but you should study at least an hour a day!!! No extra credit or time on assignments!

Brilliant professor! Great teaching style. Gives out notes and reviews. All you have to do is look at the notes and follow along in class. She will give hints (major hints) of what is going to be on tests. Study the reviews... in fact, memorize the slides on the reviews for tests. She gives all the answers to lab questions. She is a good professor. She is very willing to help you when you have questions. She does not give any extra credit in this course, which made us study hard for the tests. There were 4 tests and 1 comprehensive final exam. One test has 60% of writing and 40% of multiple choice. If your major involves in health care, you should take her. Study hard

Dr. Benton is amazing if you really want to learn biology take her. She is so helpful and she dosent make you feel stuped for asking questions even though the questin might be. She has no extra credit so its hard class to make an A in but you will definitely leave knowing your stuff.

Dr.B is an awsome teacher and her class is fun. her summer classes are at a fast pace but she make sure her student understand before moving on. no extra credit and thats good because its a college level class. she teaches alot of information, but make sure everyone gets it. she is really good and help i would take her class for bio 2!

Lesley Benton is the worlds greatest professor!!! She does make you work for your grade but she is so helpful and makes sure you know the material that so long as you study, you will make a good grade. Do the extra credit practice tests which are worth 20 pts total & will be added to the final exam. Lab quizzes are basically the prelab questions & from the previous post lab. One of the best professors ever! Her lectures are off from powerpoints. The textbook is free, but have to purchase an access code for homework. Study the review she gives out for tests. She is nice, understandable, & really cares. Do the extra credit tests which you can retake unlimited times! She even brought us donuts on the last lecture day!

Professor Benton really cares for her students. I recommend making flash cards out of the reviews she gives out a week before the test. For the first few tests, I tried to understand and learn the topics but it just confused me even more. I started making flash cards. tests are straight from the review, she just switches it around a little bit.

I took biology with an other professor and I hated it in a point where I changed my major. However professor Benton changed my mind about bio. I was very sad that the class had to end. very easy to reach outside of class, emails u back in 15 minutes. it was nice to have homework and the lab paper since it raised my grade. 4 points extra credit on each exam was very solid. if u read and understand the lecture, do the homework, there's no need to read the textbook or watch the videos imo. gl

Dr. Benton shares her love of Biology with her students. She is very detail oriented and sends weekly checklists to make sure you are staying on track. Do the homework, read the book, watch the lecture videos and you will do well. Don't put the labs off until last minute. She answers emails quickly and meets virtually in person once a week.

Throughout the course, Dr. Benton consistently responded to emails within hours. She never made me feel as if I was asking too many questions or taking up too much of her time. Dr. Benton was always happy to help in any way that she could. She truly enjoys this subject and teaching it. I wish she taught Microbiology as well! Highly recommend!

Dr. Benton gives many resources to help you learn the material, and it can feel overwhelming at first, but the class is pretty easy if you study the material enough. You get plenty of information on what to study and the she keeps everyone informed weekly with announcements and step-by-step instructions on what to do for the week.

She offers PLENTY of extra credit for exams, I got two 104s on exams and a 102 on my final due to these points. She is a very fun professor and would take again.

Amazing biology teacher! The subject matter can be difficult and overwhelming at first but if you study you will earn that A! Lectures are fun and she has incredible energy and passion for the subject. There is homework and plenty of extra credit! The test and quizzes are in person.
