Prof. Campbell is a fabulous professor! She is extremely passionate and offered alternatives to the traditional lecture style of teaching (field trips, simulations etc.). She does assign a huge amount of work and there is a LOT of reading but it was a great class, ended up with an A+. Go to lecture and keep up with the readings and you'll do great

She makes degrading comments towards students that take longer in her labs. She said to a TA the other week "Oh look its natural selection in third year" with a snickering laugh. The week before she made another comment along the lines of calling people slow. Very disrespectful and plasters a smile and laugh to disguise the rude behavior.

Dr. Campbell wants the best for her students and is very helpful one-on-one. However, the material covered in 4 months is a bit much for students to fully understand and comprehend in that short of a time, so maybe re-thinking the curriculum would be great for the future. Overall a great course taught by someone who has passion for the subject!

IT WAS ROUGH! She had to take a break due to personal reasons 2 weeks in (understandable), however, she came back & the course was just as disorganized as I heard from stories. Prep to learn the content even before the lectures since it's required for prelabs. I was open to learning about botany coming in but I ended up dreading it like every1else.

Don't do this class with this prof, just try to find some other way at another uni. No one cared when she went on her annual leave, and we all rejoiced when we found out that she wouldn't be teaching ecology or evolution next sem. Good luck finding anyone stupid enough to be a part of your research course you're doing next sem Campbell, lmao!

Very disorganized course and terrible at communication. I thought she was nice at first but the entire course is a train wreck. Little contact, horrible labs (my TA was a better teacher), and unprofessional. Claimed we didn't have to draw a specific diagram during lecture, she put in on the final. She was rude to the TA proctoring our final too.

Worst prof I've ever had. Acts like she cares about her students but doesn't answer her emails, can barely keep track of what she's teaching, let alone takes 2 weeks off in the beginning of the semester and still tests her students on concepts she hasn't even taught yet. She put concepts she told us not to study for on our exam. STAY AWAY FROM HER.

This woman was so unorganized and so condescending when she spoke to us. She seems so sweet and caring but in reality the course is poorly planned out. The labs are unorganized, and she never seems to know what is going on. Her slides have little to no information on them, and during lecture she speaks and is not open to answering questions.

This class was messy. Professor Campbell was absent the first two weeks of classes (with fair reason) and the continuation of the class after the first two weeks was done awfully which made the course incredibly messy. The labs were easily the worst part of the course by far, they were so confusing. Campbell was very sweet but didn't answer emails

worst prof i've ever had at tmu. 50% of your grade comes from in person lab quizzes. TAs set timer of 30 seconds per question. profs lecture slides have little to no info just pictures because she thinks people will post her stuff online. lecture quizzes are worth 10% and majority are off quizlet. BARELY RESPONDS TO EMAILS.

The professor is kind. If you prepare for the lab quizzes in advance, you'll excel in the lab section. The quiz content is not unfamiliar. This course demands dedicated time for both lecture and lab preparation. It's advisable to read the textbook chapter before attending the lecture, as the professor relies on it extensively.

Want a good mark? Don't take Campbell. The final was a joke; everything we studied was barely on it, practically off of Quizlet. Prof assured it's lecture-based heavily, but it's literally off the textbook. Focus on acing the lab component and the course work since the final was only 20%. Ineffective classes. All my classmates agree.

I think Dr. Campbell is a great person, she's really caring and I like her lecture materials. The labs are very disorganized and grading criteria can be unclear but she's willing to extend deadlines or change strategies when she can see things aren't working. The class is set up assuming you'll actually read the textbook and self study.

Campbell is a very sweet prof and was accommodating when it came to lab concerns. Her lectures weren't bad either. The lab component was very unorganized and confusing at times. If I were to retake this course, I would definitely focus a lot more time on studying for the lab quizzes as they were more difficult than expected.
