Hard as crap...nice teacher, but tests are impossible

She teaches rather effectively

I thought she was great. I didn't have any problems with the exams.

She requires a mature attitude, she makes you responsible for your actions and keeps it very professional. Yes, the material is hard, but there are also lots of opportunites to get help.

she taught acct 200 very well. people say she's evil but those people are idiots who don't study the material correctly or have any sense of time management. welcome to eller :P

Just go to her office hours...she has zero personality, but talk about her kids and she really warms up to you. The class sucks though.

ok its Accounting its not like its an easy subject. If you put in ALOT of time studying you'll make it out ok. She is the best teacher on campus for accounting and she is not a ***!

If it's between Cohen and Rochman, take Cohen. If you actually pay attention in (and go to)class, you will pass without a problem. Do the review sheets and go to review sessions. I agree she doesn't have much personality, but she knows what she's doing. Tests can be tricky, but she forewarns you.

Cohen is a great teacher, despite what other comments may say. She takes time and explains everything thouroughly. She also writes the tests, so she gives hints as to what to study. Much better than Rochman and not a hard teacher. Everyone who failed just decides to give her bad ratings.

Leslie is kind of intimidating at first. Sit in the front and make sure that you keep up with the class, use the study guide for sure and then it won't be such a tough class

Like someone said before...very intimidating at first impression but overall a very good teacher who can be fair.

Accounting is kind of a grind and that's not any teacher's fault. The tests are a little hard and she's a tough but fair grader. She explains things well and prepares you if you're willing to put in your portion of the work.

I really liked Cohen, I thought she knew her subject well, she's a good teacher, and she expects you to work...Her tests were fair and there is a lot of help available if you need it.

Its accounting what do you expect? She is good at what she does but it cant be that intresting, doesnt like to see the students fail and helps them a lot during review sessions

Knows her subject well. Very strict and very organized. She wants to help, very friendly in office hours. She also writes the tests and gives hints as to whats on them.

She is BORING! I slept everyday I had to attend her class, but Accounting isn't the most exciting subject either. She's a great teacher though, I recommend her above Rochman anyday.

Easy class if you actually attend and go to the review sessions, might want to take the lab too

This class is actually pretty good! I enjoyed it as weird as that sounds... Cohen is a great teacher, she explains everything very clearly and makes it easy to understand. If you go to class studying is not required! Go to class, listen, take notes, and don't be an ass, that's how easy it is to get an A.

She can come off as mean but she is nice to those who are trying to do good in the class. The tests are a lot easier if you do the practice problems and study hard.

The people who say that Cohen is hard are the people who do not go to class!! What is the point of being in college if you are not going to class. But anyways, if you go to the lab print out the slides online and take them to class, you should do fine. Most importantly GO TO CLASS!! SHE GIVES YOU EXAMPLE PROBLEMS THAT WILL BE ON THE TEST!!

ACCT 200 is probably the first hard class most business students take. The class is exactly the same with Cohen as with Rochman. The class is hard with most of the grade on 3 tests. You need to do well on all the tests to pass. Make sure you study for the first test because it is the hardest. Cohen does tell you exactly what is on the test though

Pay attention in class. She goes over example test questions right before the exam. Also, I recommend signing up for the lab. She rushes through lectures sometimes and the guy I had in lab helped me understand the concepts better. Also, if you're borderline it helps raise your grade (assuming your lab grade is better than your grade in the class)

She's not as bad as she makes herself out to be. She's much better than ACCT 210 blanchard. She teaches things along with the book and the lab is worth attending. I hated the class at the time, but looking back she did a good job. I learned about as much as I could for having absolutely no interest in accounting.She's fair and tries to help you out

Very helpful teacher! She was available whenever I needed help. She creates the tests for 200, so I recommend taking it with her. The lab is very worthwhile! Most of the lab examples are test questions.

Cohen is not as bad as people make her to be. Yea she goes through the material pretty fast, but she covers what is important and gives a LOT of examples. If you go to class and to the lab: Its a guaranteed good grade.

She does teach fast but you can print the power points and just take notes on the examples she gives the class- which she gives a lot of them. Go to class or else you will not do well. There are 14 in class group activities which help you understand the material better. She also writes the tests and she will tell you exactly what to prepare for.

She goes through the slides fast, but does a lot of examples in class so that you understand the material better. She was always available when I needed her and answered any questions I had. Go to class on day before the exam and the scheduled activity days, because they are the most helpful for exams.

I've taken many accounting classes but this professor explained it the best.

Leslie Cohen is a great teacher! She cares about her students and she wants her students to succeed. The material isn't easy, but she does everything she can to help her kids learn. Highly recommend her!!

Cohen is a great teacher. She is excellent at explaining the material. She is very firm with decisions so you can be a lazy****and study the night before the test and then complain to her you didn't learn anything. If you do the work and attend class and study several nights before the test it's an easy A. I got a 97.

Never in a million years did I think I would enjoy my first accounting class, little did I know... Leslie Cohen is amazing. She is crystal clear, she isn't always nice but she's always an effective teacher. She teaches you what you need to know for the tests and for future accounting courses. I got an A+ and I'm now going to major in Accounting.

She knows what she is talking about. The book helps a lot. To study for the test just do the wiley over and over again.

Professor is very knowledgeable when it comes to accounting. The class is pretty easy if you attend classes and sign up for the lab. The tests can be a bit tricky, but if you understand the material, an A is easy to get.

This course is an easy A if you go to class, attend a lab, and do the in class assignments before class for extra practice! Tests are straight forward, exactly same info, ie vocab and problems, as ppts and lectures! Good professor, makes it clear what will be on the exam. Don't memorize, understand the concepts and all new info will make sense!

Effective professor. Goes through material fast. Understand the concepts and logic to get an A, don't waste your time straight-up memorizing everything.

I really enjoyed this class. Lectures are pretty boring but I found the information interesting. Leslie gives you everything you need to do well on the exams during lecture, along with plenty of practice problems. If you do your work you can easily get an A!

This class was hard but I learned a lot. As long as she sticks to the outlines instead of powerpoints then the class can be enjoyable.

Good teacher, she gives lots of practive problems and small assignments to help understand material better. Actual understand the concepts instead of memorizing them and you'll pretty much do well for the rest of the semester.

Great teacher, really enjoyed the class and liked that she was straight forward and didn't put up with people talking over her during class. She gave lots of practice problems and prepared us well for the tests, you just have to be willing to put in the time.

I think she was a good teacher overall. Seemed rude, which she kinda is, but if you go to her office hours and show her you are trying then she is nice.Teaches really fast but encouraged students to go to office hours, very helpful. I tried my hardest and got C's on the exam. I even went to her office hours. My advice, do the labs, and go to class

Loved this teacher. A little scattered during lectures but I recommend going to her office hours. She is really helpful and nice especially if she knows you are really putting in the effort to understand the material. Her tests aren't too bad if you study and she gives a lot of small assignments that are easy points.

She is a fantastic professor! She is very clear in her teaching. She does everything through MS Word and Excel so its easy to follow along on your own computer. It seems a bit confusing when she gives you the information but the exercises she does in class are what really help you learn it. And her tests are multiple choice! Would highly recommend!

She is a very skilled, and exceptional teacher. I really enjoyed her class, and the only way you can struggle with her class is if you don't go to class or don't do the assignments. If you're really struggling with the concepts you should go to office hours.

Cohen is a GREAT professor! Everything was very clear to understand and as long as you do the study guides and go to most classes the tests are a piece of cake! Business minors should definitely take 250 instead of 200!

Good teacher, just make sure you do all of the activities and homework. Also make sure you do the practice problems in the book for studying for the test.

Definitely take with her! She is the best accounting teacher because she is the one who makes the test so she will tell you what to study and what not to study. Guide to an A: sign up for the lab once the class starts, take notes on the assigned chapters, do the learnsmart,do the study guide, and the activities. Just don't be lazy.

She CARES about how her students do. Do the study guides that she goes over very clearly in class. You need the textbook, and you could very easily do well in this class with some effort and 1 or 2 visits to office hours

Take with her! She's the best one! Always helpful and if you do well in the beginning the class is a joke. 3 tests, 12 wileyplus, 2 homeworks, 8 in-class activities, and an optional 30 points for a lab. So easy! She gives a review day before tests and just study that. Awesome teacher that wants you to succeed.

Cohen is a nice person, but she is very fast paced. Her notes are outlined based, which are better than power points. I was just short of an A, which sucks because she doesn't curve. I hear she's better than the other teachers though, so I don't regret having her.

Surprisingly easy class if you go to lecture, take notes from the outline, and STUDY THE WILEY PROBLEMS before exams. Everything on the exams were based on what she taught and reviewed before the test. Each exam had about one or two questions that she didn't emphasize, but other than that she really prepared us.

Fast paced class. Must go to class. Easy assignments. Tests are no surprise. Most multiple choice, with some math related problems. Grades are given on the spot, MUST be 90.0 for A. Recomend her for Accounting classes.

Lesley is a good teacher. For the practice problems, just do Brief Exercises cause that's about as hard as the exam gets. Her exams can be tricky so pay attention to the wording. Overall, she cares about her students and is a good teacher.

I don't know what it is about her teaching or maybe the material, but I retained nothing from that class and I'm an accounting major. Her lectures got better by the end of the year but it's so easy to just copy things down and not understand how she got it so don't be afraid to ask questions. Awesome person, sucky teacher.
