Excellent teacher. Gives reviews which are true to the test. You must take notes and study the information, I didn't use the book and aced the tests. This teacher really makes history come alive..she is a lecturer, doesn't require discussion, her reviews are thorough and allows you to ask her questions before the test. Great teacher!
I wasn't too thrilled about having to take this class because I never liked history, but she told us so many things that I never knew and she made the class interesting and fun. Take notes and do the reviews and you should ace this class :)
this class was the easiest i had last semester. dont use the book at all. all lecture. i took notes, but everything on the test is also on the review. she knows quite a bit about what she is talking about and can answer any questions you have. if you take this professor, you will pass with ease.
This was my first professor at San Jac. I thoroughly enjoyed her class. I loved her lectures. Very interesting and personable. Strictly lecture, which was great. One class I wrote 6 pages of notes. Very organized and thorough with her reviews. Will answer any questions. Ms Kaufmann--thank you for being a wonderful teacher!!!
I took Professor Kaufmann at HCC what I really appreciated about Professor Kaufmann is the fact that she informed us early on that it wasn't necessary to purchase the book. By taking good notes I made all A's on her test including the final.
I took her for the the first half of US History course in the 8-weekclass. The class was hectic as it runs from 1:30-4:20pm 2ice a week. She kept our interest and attention focused with her brilliant mind and photographic memory of the historical dates. She never used any notes but taught all classs from her head.
her class was wonderful. easy if you took good notes and used the test reviews. i got an A easily. she writes outlines on the board, stickly lecture. had two homework assignments and a paper. but all of this was easy enough. i never had to use the book at all.
Loved this class. She has a great off-beat humor. She lectures but always adds personal stuff that doesnt make it dull. Really easy class just show up and take notes. She gives test outline (do it, helps), her test are straight forward from lectures. She is great take her.
My favorite class! She knows so much about history...I can't wait to take the next section.
I took Proffersor Kaufmann for a 3 wk. mini term. I thought it was going to be horrible to spend 4hrs 4 days a wk. in History; to my surprise I learned a bunch and enjoyed her lectures. She is awsome, and adds a personal touch.
Prof. kauffman is so easy. as long as you come to class and take the notes, the class is easy to pass. her tests are multiple choice so its not hard at all. im taking her right now for a 5week mini, and its so easy. i wuld definatly recommend takn her if u want an easy A.
This teacher is super easy! I never liked history until now! The book is not required. Just do the review for the lecture notes & the test will be super easy!
I would definitely suggest this teacher. Tests are straight off lectures with a few questions from a book of readings. There are even practice test questions that she posts on blackboard that she will use on the tests. I wouldn't waste money on the textbook, just the little book with the readings. There are short essays due but she grades easily.
This prof is amazing. Her tests are pretty simple. She tells you exactly what needs to be done and as long as you put forth any sort of effort, you'll pass.I took her for Hist1301&1302 and made A+'s in both classes.
she had a pretty good voice and she brought her own personal touch to this class......... i made an A only because i read speakers of America... and i took it in the summer...... i would recommend Steve Lopez he is so easy..... i slept and made an A !!!!
She made history fun and I would suggest to everyone to take her class. She is great!
Knows what she is talking about. Tests are off her notes and the smaller book but they are short articles and you can read them quickly. She does have 6 assignments but they are really easy and as long as she can see you read the material you get full credit. Plus you are only required to do 4 other 2 are E.C. Easy A if you study her notes!
Awesome Professor! She makes learning about the past FUN!!! Tests are from her lecture and her tests are super easy. She has a few writing assignments 1 page each gives opportunities for extra credit. Take her, you won't regret it!
Take Prof. Kaufmann! I took her for the 8 wk mini & the class is super easy! She is good at not reading straight from the lecture, she knows what she is talking about. You do not need the actual hist. book but you need the Speaking of America for hmwk(easy) and the test are easy and the paper is easy! Just be there, take notes and you will pass!
She was great! Not an easy person to confront but an excellent teacher. Her lectures were interesting and made you understand. Her tests were easy as long as you take pretty good notes. Easy class! Even opportunity for 50pts. Extra Credit.
Great teacher. Tests are straight from the lecture, and her lectures keeps you interested. Very little homework. One 1000 word essay is a biography and you get to choose the person. Gives extra credit as well. I got an A and learned so much. Wish I could take her for 1302 but doesn't fit into my schedule!!
I took her in Spring of 2008. EASY A. You have to study to make an A. But then again its college.... so get off your lazy behind and put some effort. Shes very nice and kind. EASY A!!!!
Wow! Took her class in a MINI term and it wasn't overwhelming at all. Yes, we took 4 tests in 3 wks. but if you listen you will pass with an A (I did). Mrs. Kaufmann's teaching is very interesting and keeps you awake...she also gives extra credit!
She is a good teacher and a very kind person! Just take notes and study the reviews and you'll do good :)
Made me love History. Awesome teacher, great information. loved her.
She IS an amazing lecturer. this lady can talk about history for 4 hours straight(im taking her mini class) without looking at her note once. she's kinda funny and an extremely easy grader. Don't skip her class bc the test is over her lecture. 7 short essays, 2 take home tests, 1 in class final. Overall an easy class
i got out of her class with a 104 final grade lol.she's def the best history teacher i've had.Not a blow off class but all i did was do all the work and the EXTRA CREDITS(DO IT), come to class(trust me u will, her lecture is sooo interesting), and study a lil for the test. She grades easy and very fast, you'll get ur stuffs back the next day.TAKE HER
if you take notes and study them you'll pass her tests, which are surprisingly very easy. An essay is required for the tests, but once again EASY as long as you took the notes. Also, she requires you read out of a little book called speaking of america for test q's and homework. EASY, I RECOMMEND!
EASY A! Just show for lectures. She is very kind. She is pretty easy on grading writing assignments. The test consist of multiple choices based on lectures, short stories fr. a book (Speaking of Amer.), & an essay. Very very easy. She'll always review the essay choices the day before test, basically tells you what you need to write on the essay. A+
easy A...fun and informative!!! I highly recomend this teacher!
wow! I love this class. Interesting AND effortless. If YOU want an A, take KAUFFMAN.
I took Kauffman for a 4 week World civ 2 distance learning class and was extremely pleased with her. She's incredibly helpful, clear and although it is a lot of work the tests over all are not difficult as long as you study the material. I was a bit scared taking this class in such a short period of time, but professor Kauffman made it easy.
I took this as a 4/5week summer class online.I was skeptical bc I HATE history but she actually gave alot of material to help understand it vs the mumbo jumbo crap in text. I didnt like the alternative text bc it was hard to understand. I like her and would take her again if given the opportunity. She also grades and responds to emails QUICKLY!
I took this class as a summer mini class. Great teacher, easy homework thats worth 25% of your grade with extra credit. She posts an outline of her lectures on blackboard so if you triple space it you can use it to take notes. Good class!
Very easy teacher, she is a bit goofy and cheesy. Easily made an A+. Get the homework done and extra credit and you already have a leg up.
kauffman is by far the best history teacher i have ever had. totally not interested in history and came home learning everyday. MOST DEFF TAKE HER. i took her in 8 weekd. 3 test lastis final test are three parts multi choice practice test online same quest multi over reading and an essay question worth 40% of test. easy homework assign and 1 paper
Took her for an online class, she is very clear on what to do. One of the best online teachers I've had so far. Still have a book (Taking Sides V. I) if anyone is interested asking $15.. [email protected]
Very good teacher, took her for a 3 week mini class for winter break. Lecture can be a little boring but she makes the assignments and tests super easy. 7 one page essays to do from reading stories from the book, only have to do 5 out of the 7, the rest are extra credit, and 3 tests. They are easy too just take notes and study.
Very good teacher.
SHE IS NICE, SIMPLE AND HELPFUL TOO. YOU WILL MAKE AN A IF YOU READ ER NOTES
she is a very nice person. She made the class very interesting and enjoyable. As long as you are trying to do the work she will work with you not like some professor "my or the highway" type. I took her for two history class and I made both A.
Took her for the winter mini. Great teacher who has an obvious passion for what she teaches. Tests were directly from lectures. She tells you what she wants on essay questions. She has an odd sense of humor that I found delightful. I Wish I would have taken her 1301 instead of going with another popular professor that ended up being awful.
I loved this professor! She is extremely knowledgeable about history and loves the subject she teaches. The whole class is based on lectures so don't miss class! Campus class has 4 tests and 4 homework assignments plus two HW assignments for extra credit-- and one major research paper (but she's an easy grader). Her online class has podcasts.
Best History professor ever!!! Her class is strictly lecture. There are several short articles you read and write a one page summary about them. Research paper is easy. The research topic is up to you. Test are 30 questions and a short summary of a topic discussed in class. EVERY TEST HAS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR EXTRA CREDIT!
The professor was great. Like others were saying, it's all lecture and she assigns a HW assignment every 2-3 wks or so from short articles in the book (which you will need just for that). Almost no one dropped the course, it says a lot. I got an A in the class. Tests are what she teaches. You'll do fine as long as you pay attention in class.
Awesome teacher...you do not need the book so dont waist your money she will tell u that. test are straight from your notes....make sure u do all of your little essays including the extra credit ones...i made a 110 in the class because of them. she is funny and loves what she does. im taking her again for another history mini
Taking online. Mostly a self-paced class. Course is divided into 3 units and you have a little over a month to complete each unit. There are a few reading assignments (not ridiculously long), a quiz and a test for each unit. The reading assignments aren't graded too harshly. Answers to the test can be found in the text book. I recommend her. :)
I took her in an 8 week class. Very easy but very boring. It was hard for me to stay awake in class. She's very monotone. I made a C because I barely went to class and didn't study, at all. Just pay attention and you'll breeze through it!
Professor Kauffman is an excellent history teacher. She is very knowledgable & engaging. She presents information in a factual & unbiased manner while injecting humanity into each historical figure. I took an 8 week class. No textbook is required, but a reader is.5 minor papers and one biography.Extra credit is avail. Show up pay attention get an A
its an easy class I took her over the Winter Minnie and she gives extra credit really nice lady :) And IF u DON'T WANT TO DO A LOT OF WORK DURING A WINTER MINNIE U SHOULD TAKE HER :)
Professor Kauffman is a very nice lady. Even though shes really boring(literally) shes clear on what she wants and its an easy class. U dont need the books just go 2 the library and do your hmwk their but I definetely recommend her just pay attention and your good! only 2 test, 5 hmwks, 1 biography & the final.
She's a great teacher, knows her stuff, and grades fairly. I got an A
I took Kauffman for 1301 and she was really helpful and her class was fairly easy. As long as you aren't lazy and do all of her assignments you will definitely pass. Great teacher!
Professor Kauffman is extremely helpful and entertaing! Her tests are come directly from her notes. Show up and pay attention anf you will definitely pass. I highly recommend her.
I highly recommend Professor Kauffman. To be honest her lectures are ridiculously boring, but if you just do the work you will get an A. She allows a 3x5 notecard for exams, and she always answers questions clearly and provides direct instructions. I didn't even do half the work or study at all and I still made a B.
Veryyyyy good professor. She gets off topic in class a lot and tends to ramble but you learn a lot and her tests go along with what she actually talks about in class. Pay attention in class, make sure you know your material, do the assignments and you should have no problem getting an A or B. She really knows her stuff.
I love Professor Kauffman. She is super clear and actually makes history enjoyable! i definitely recommend her to everyone who needs to take their history!!
Great professor! Go to class and take notes! Take her!!!
Prof. Kauffman is so nice! Her World Civilizations I class was super easy and enjoyable. The lectures were occasionally boring but she always finds away to make history fun. She grades very fairly and gave me everything I thought I deserved. I strongly recommend this class to anyone needing a humanities credit.
Loved her class, you have to do 1 research paper in class but it is easy and you pick your own topic. She is also kind hot and reminds me of an Amy Dallen. I will be taking her again next semester. Also i really didn't have an interest in history before but she made it fun.
Love this Professor. I am not a history person, but she made this class easy. She talks a lot and her grading system helps you get an A. I would take her again but her class is full!
I took a Hybrid class - 50% online, 50% in class. Excellent instructor. She makes it interesting.
Very good instructor. Grading system was fair and easy to make an A. I'm taking her again for 1301.
SHE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR EVER! I MISSED ONE HER CLASSES AND SHE ACTUALLY TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN THE WHOLE LECTURE TO ME IN HER OFFICE. SHE SHARES HER PERSONAL STORIES TIME TO TIME WHICH MAKES HISTORY INTERESTING. I WAS VERY AFRAID IF HISTORY BEFORE BUT NOW I LOVE IT BECAUSE OF HER. SHE LET STUDENTS USE 3X5 CARD IN TESTS. MAKE SURE TO DO ASSIGNMENTS.
I WOULD TAKE HER AGAIN. SHE IS VERY EASY TEACHER AND VERY HELPFUL AT ALL TIMES. SHE SHARES HER PERSONAL STORIES AND MAKES THE SUBJECT INTERESTING. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE ASSIGNMENTS. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER AND TAKE HER FOR 1301 AGAIN.
Great teacher. You have to put time and alot of reading into this class but there is no reason to not make an A. Plenty of extra credit available. I am a lazy student but I did the weekly assignments and all extra credit, it wasnt too hard and i made an A. She is clear on what she expects. Weekly quizzes and assignments,1 paper and 4 Tests.
I liked her so much that I will be taking another of her online history classes. If online is your thing, she is your type of professor!
good teacher
If you are looking to take a history course online, take it with Professor Kauffman. I took World Civilization part 1 and 2 during the summer and originally thought I would have dropped. She gave us a week for 2 assignments and a test and then a paper in the end. Seriously such a good class! Study hard and read.
5week mini. Record lectures and make your notes from that. She's very interesting to listen to and has a lot to say! Not hard at all but must put in a lot of time to write out those recorded lectures. Lets you use a notecard for the exams. Won't use the American History textbook but will definitely need the other for assignments. Highly recommend.
Took her online, there are 1-2 weekly assignments (not too hard), 1 paper, 3 test. No late work so do not be lazy. Plenty of extra credit, she responds to emails quickly and very helpful! Recommend her! Glad I took her, online works for me.
Took US History I in 3-week mini over Christmas. Really liked the pace (8 lecture days, 2 test days FAST) and the hybrid set-up (50% online). Go to class, take notes, do the reading, do the assignments. No reason not to pass - I finished with a 106 thanks to extra credit options. Will try to take her again for US History II if my schedule allows.
I took Professor Kauffman for a History 1301 8 week mini course. She lectured and we had a "group discussion" every day where we got in groups and completed an easy assignment related to that days lecture. There were two tests, 10 group discussions, one simple paper, and other weekly assignments. Show up to class, do your work, and you'll pass. (:
She's constant in her style and expectations; so long as you pay attention and do your work diligently, you'll get a good grade in her class.
good professor 3 tests including final are easy, gives reviews. 5 book assignments are semi easy, just need to understand them to answer questions. 2 papers easy as well.
Lectures are boring, but if you do all of the assignments you should at the very least get a b.
Loved this class. Took History 1 and had a bad experience... Took this class amazing. Allowed us to use 3x4 notecard to put notes on for test. Did assignments an hour before they were due and still got full points. Was lots of reading during class but I don't read. Easy class for Gpa. Take her!
Took the 5 week summer term. Really easy and perfect pace! Gives lots of easy extra credit and her lectures actually got my attention. I only used the textbook when we had group discussions. She gives 10 assignments and 10 group discussions along with an easy paper. If you do your work, you are sure to get an A!
This class was way different from what I expected but in a good way. I took it online and all the material was already up which I love. There was one paper and the rest were test and short assignments. Seriously would recommend this class and teacher to anyone. The professor was very quick at responding to emails and keeping up with grades.
Fact: Best History professor! Lectures are not that long and are very interesting. She is extremely knowledgeable about real history. Papers are required, if you follow criteria and submit on time it's automatically given: 20 or 10 points. If you can record her, very important. Written notes, by mouth. Tests: easy (3), Email: quick. Late: no prob.
Gentle grader, tons of extra credit, test reviews on BlackBoard, and her lectures might actually make you interested in history. But the tests are hard, homework's abundant, and sometimes she'll gripe at you for texting in class. I think I'd recommend just taking the online version, but again, the lectures are pretty interesting.
Hardest class ever!
I really enjoyed her class. I took her in a 5 week mini winter! She is very easy going! Expect to write an essay. Her tests are not that difficult.
If you want to make a good grade on a history class, take her BUT online. Im taking her lecture and its HARD. The test are really hard. She gives us a review on mindmap and honestly it doesn't feel like it helps AT ALL. my bf is taking her online and he loves it. probably getting an B orC b/c test are hard
awesome teacher. ONLINE, very well organized, is up to you if you want to make an A,B or C. definitely I would take it again if I have to take another history class.
Great online class. Everything is organized, open, and on-time. You have frequent, but easy, assignments every week, including mini quizzes, short answer questions, and discussion boards. Only 3 tests (including final, not comprehensive), which are a bit tough, so make sure to have the online book open in another tab. Prof is quick to email, too.
I'll make it short... SHE IS AMAZING! WILL TAKE HER FOR HIST2
Professor Kauffman is very nice, fair grader, usually has your work graded by the next day. Definitely recommend taking her. I'll be taking her other summer course next.
Shes a good teacher.
Grades your assignments fast - typically by the next day. She gives encouraging feedback on each assignment to let you know how to improve. 3 Exams divided into 3 parts.. 40 multiple choice, 1 short essay question(20pts), and 1 long essay question (40pts). Just read and you shouldn't have any issues. I would take her again for sure
Professor Kauffman is an extraordinary teacher. She knows how to teach very well , and always has your assignments graded by the next day. Definitely taking her for HIST 1302
Lecture can get boring and heavy. But if you do the skill assignments and the group discussion you should do good. I didn' t get an A because I got side tracked but you can do it.
Professor Kauffman really knows her stuff! Glad I took her for my winter mini, easy A
1-2 homeworks a week. easy grader but unclear reviews. boring lectures, bring coffee
Her online class is great. The amount of assignments is average and her test are reasonable. I definitely recommend taking her!!!!!
I love Professor Kauffman. I even took her twice, and I might even take her again. She does have quite a few assignments, but they really help with your grade overall. She also offers extra credit for every test. There are 3 exams, including the final, and the best part is they aren't cumulative. Her lectures are very important and you need them.
Professor Kauffman is GREAT. I have always struggled with history since high school, it was never my best subject. This was my second time taking it, the first time I had taken it with a different professor and I failed it was extremely difficult. Taking Professor Kauffman was the best choice I could have made. Definitely recommend to strugglers!
Professor Kauffman is such an amazing professor. I HATE history but her course was great. If you want an A all you have to do is turn in everything she gives you. She gives reviews for exams which help a lot, I passed all exams with A's because of the reviews. Gives HW on mindtap, 3 or 4 tests, and a final paper which are easy. She's great!
Professor Kauffman is an awesome professor! I highly recommend you take her. Just read the necessary stuff, review using the stuff she gives you, and you should be able to get an A! She always answers her e-mails if you ever need help on anything. I will for sure take her again! If she's available for an online course, take her too!
reasonable assignments but instructions lack structure. I found it very difficult to read her assignments and really comprehend what she is asking of us. Eventually after over reading everything a few times I will just email her for more info and get the answers I need. If you follow her instructions well, she will grade fairly.
Took online for the summer semester. There was a total of 13 assignments but only 10 needed to be submitted along with a 1,000 word essay. The other 3 assignments are extra credit. There are also 3 Tests but no final exam. Shes not a tough grader and gives good feedback.
Ms. Kauffman was a good professor teaching an easy class. You can tell she has a passion for her work, although I could do with less of her political opinions inserted in lecture. Grading criteria is clear, and she isnt tough on papers or essay questions. Reviews are 100% accurate to the test.
She does lecture heavy but I guess that's any History course. Lots of opportunity for extra credit and she grades easy. Great lady, fairly easy class as long as you do the work.
I took this class online. It was fairly easy. There was a LOT of reading involved, and a LOT of assignments. She gives a ton of extra credit. Anytime you email her, she will email back with any information needed. She gives excellent feedback on everything. Make sure you study her reviews and your previous quizzes and you will do great on exams.
Took this class online. Super easy! She is an easy grader but sometimes she can also surprise you. A lot of assignments but I see it as more opportunities to pass. She will email back fast and really does help you out. She gives you a lot of options for extra credit. Definitely recommend her for people who don't love History.
so much work. I took online and omg ive never had that many papers to do for one class much less an online class. I can honestly say I learned nothing about history as this is basically an English class with historical subjects for the papers.
I've only been in her hybrid class for a month, and we've had more work to turn in than most other classes I've taken in 4 full time semesters. This is definitely more like an English class, with a history basis. I would not recommend this professor, as she is a TOUGH grader & expects way too much. Skills Assignments, Discussion boards, & essays.
Half way through this course and I can easily say I have not learned a thing. Lectures and skill assignments have absolutely nothing to do with what is on the exams. She treats it more as an English course with some history. The lectures are informative but not in any way that helps you learn what you need to know for the tests. Also tough grader.
Took this online as a full semester. I have never been a fan of history and there was a lot of reading, but it really was not that bad. Most of the material was interesting to learn about. She gives plenty of extra credit! Some of the homework assignments took me awhile to complete. Recommend online course. No reason to fail.
Professor Kauffman offers a lot of extra credit to help your grade, but she is a very tough grader and honestly makes US history way to complicated. So if you are willing to work hard and have assignments due every week then give it a shot. Also her test are pretty challenging, they have an essay part as well.
Professor Kauffman gives out due dates and reminds you of upcoming assignments in class. She provides extra credit quizzes which help make up points from either low scored or missed assignments. Lectures are clear to understand if you pay attention and has a clear grading system.
The class was every Monday for a lecture. Class was easy just a lot of work online. But it's easy
Took as a mini, and she was great! Class is well organized and she is very caring.
This is one of the best experiences Ive had with an online class. Note only does she detail everything. She is th fastest responder to an email I have ever had in my college experience. She answers all questions and gives extra credit assignments. Great professor Id recommend for anybody
LOVE this class, TAKE HER ONLINE! Loved the way her assignments are outlined. 1 assignment each week, total of 3 Exams, 1 paper common assignment, 4 EASY Discussion Boards. There also is Extra Credit which is AMAZING, & helps your grade so much! Dont get scared by the Essay topics on Exams, they are simple, just stick to the subject & be detailed.
She didnt tell us about what was required. She gave me a 12 on an assignment because it wasnt detailed enough. Her instructions were unclear. She graded and talked like she was the smartest person in the world.. she would even try to correct what she believed happened in History. She was very prejudice against Republicans and spat her opinion.
Lesley was a good proffesor, the only thing is she is not good at assigning papers and grading them. I would say we had two or three assignments due a week which I made an a on every assignment but the paper she has signed which was on the fall of Rome, she didnt like what I wrote and questioned me on where I got my information. Which was cited!
I took this class online! The professor was so organized and responds quickly to emails. There is an assignment due every week and then 4 easy discussion boards,3 test with short essay questions. (which she gives a review for) plus she gives lots of extra credit opportunities as well!!
At 1st I liked her class. Her lectures were very interesting. But the first exam came and it was nothing like what was talked about in class. She does have a powerpoint up in class, but it is vague and more there for her to remember what points to hit. I had to drop because I was not grasping her lectures. She does gives papers that dont make sense
Professor Kauffman was a decent professor. I would take her again but only online. I took her class in person and it was somewhat unnecessary. The powerpoints she went over in class were hardly on the test at all (and lectures were a bit boring.) She's an easier grader as long as you do the assignments on blackboard. Take her online if you can.
This was the easiest 3 week mini I have ever taken, she is always very clear on her instructions for assignments. You can get ahead! She emails back fast and grades fast too! She is always on top of things. I am not typically good at history but this class was easy! She gives extra credit every week! The only "big" thing is her history debate paper
This professor is very caring. Although the lectures are a bit boring, the assignments are very easy/short and she is a very lenient grader. I received an A doing hardly any extra credit (which she offers almost every week). She is also very understanding and always helps when needed.
She is very nice! I would definitely take her class again! her lectures are really interesting if you love history you'll like it. even if you don't like history she makes everything soo interesting! BEST HISTORY PROFESSOR!!!!!
Prof Kauffman online 8 week course was amazing! I loved her so much in HIST 1301 that I HAD to get her for 1302! She is so quick at responding to emails, probably the fastest I have had! Her criteria for assignments were very clear! I just got done with everything in her class even with two weeks remaining! You can definitely get ahead! GET HER!!!
She is one of the best History professors I have ever had!! She gives out extra credit! her online class is easier too!! shes well organized and I passed that class with a 92!! I would definitely take her class again !!
Look, going into this class, I had all the intentions of being a history major and given the current circumstances of the world, you'd expect some leniency but this is not the instructor. This instructor is the reason I lost my passion for social sciences.
There is one paper to write. A few simple projects. Quizzes and test are very easy and she give 2 things of extra credit with every test. There is a discussion board almost every week but super simple. Everything is do on Fridays at noon. I hate history so much and this prof was not bad at all. I took all online
The course itself was easy to navigate and comprehend. Professor Kauffman is a great professor and her grading is straight to the point. So long as you show understanding of the course material and participate, this will be an easy A.
She is the best!!! I took her online on a schedule course and everything was super easy to follow through, textbook required but she provides it for us. Discussion boards every week, quiz and tests after every unit, 1 paper to write, and extra credit!!! She puts in grades right away and answers back super fast too! I'm taking her again for 1302.
I enjoyed her lectures. The assignments were fairly easy. I would take a class by her again.
Professor Kauffman is a great teacher for World Civ I. She gave great additional slides/text in addition to the required textbook. There is a ton to read, but the way she formatted the class and materials helped you understand what was going on in the world all at the same time. Very accessible outside of class and offered great feedback.
There are plenty of assignments and discussion boards. She allows you to work ahead. She grades the assignments very quickly. Gives good feedback. Follow her rubrics for assignments and you'll get an A.
Fastest grader I've ever had for a professor. Gives easy extra credit throughout the course. Overall, pretty easy as an online class.
A fantastic professor, with weekly homework assignments with a discussion board, a paper, and 3 tests. She clearly states how the semester is going to be divided and she gives you quizzes that are practically a review for the tests shes super easy, she can be tough on essay portions but she always gives you feedback so you can improve next time.
Professor Kauffman was a great professor. Her grading criteria was clear and thorough. I'm a very organized human-being and keep a school planner with assignments. Each week, she will give you the assignment that you have to do by a specific day and time. Understanding, inspirational, and positive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
This class is a breeze! Not too much work, but you're still gonna have to read a bit for the exams. Other than that, little assignments per week. EASY
Professor Kauffman gives a lot of busy work for the week with usually two assignments due. However, her grading is really easy and as long as you do it and put effort you will make a good grade. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. At the end of the exams you do have to write about a certain topic that she listed so be prepared for that.
I am not interested in history at all but her grading is very easy and as long as your trying you will be fine. She does not take late work but she does give out 3 extra credit assignments you can do throughout the semester. Overall this class wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
She's decent in giving lectures but, I think she emphasizes and tightens her voice too much. It comes off as annoying to me even though I think she's just trying to avoid sounding insensitive when lecturing sensitive parts of history. Her assignments are fine but, Don't turn them in late! She will not accept it. She does give extra credit though.
Prof. Kauffman is a very kind and respectful Professor. She not only cares about the class, but she truly and genuinely cares about the student as well. She's not a hard grader, and her assignments are easy to understand and quick to finish. She also gives extra credit, but this class is a easy A+ if you just do the assignments and submit them!
prof. kauffman is nice but very boring. she's very lecture heavy, but workload is light and she's an easy grader (one discussion board and one assignment per week, due friday at noon). lectures are hard to get through and attendance is mandatory (initial on a paper- you can 100% get someone to sign you in if you don't wanna go). easy, just boring
This class was VERY easy, it was simple to understand everything, not too much homework, or not many tests either. Fast class, simple and very understanding Professor. I would definitely take her again! Easy class to pass! She truly cares about her students, and not only the class work that she assigns. She is very genuine, caring, and humble!
Loved this class. The professor was very clear in all her expectations for the class. We got weekly announcements reminding us what was due, and she also gave some extra credit work. I'd take her class again.
Weekly assignments from readings/prompts and there are major tests with essay portions from readings. It was an interesting, heavy, and at times a dull course. There are a lot of things you learn but at times jumping between times periods is overwhelming. As I took an online course it felt like a lot of workload compared to my other online courses.
Prof. Kauffman was a very good professor. Her lectures can be boring and most material is not seen on the tests. Overall, very easy assignments but she can be mean if you show any disinterest in the topic. Lectures. Lectures. Lectures.
Doesn't communicate well via email, and it takes almost a week to get a response back. Also, class announcements are sent out last minute. Due dates for assignments were consistently changed throughout the class. No clear grading Criteria for Essays, minimal feedback when asking for as much as one can receive to improve for future class essays.
She is a yapper. There is no point in paying attention. Quizlet and AI were my best friends and got me through the class. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT SPEAKING WHILE SHE IS SPEAKING. But anyways, its an easy class disguised by its enormous lectures.
Pretty great Professor, I did the online course and the main thing I would say is that she gives out quite a few assignments each week but if you plan accordingly you'll be good. Plus she offers lots of extra credit if you need it. Be prepared to do lots of discussion posts.
Not a big fan of her lecture nor how she annunciate words. Once you notice it, it is very distracting. The assignments are okay though. I recommend a energy drink to keep you up during lectures.
Professor Kauffman has a straightforward teaching style, with a fair workload and plenty of extra credit opportunities. Use Unstuck ai alongside the textbook to ace the assignments and exams. Though lectures can be dry, the class is manageable with good time management.
Took this online in Spring 2025. Attendance isn't required, but weekly homework counts for it. Free OpenStax book provided. Weekly homework, discussion, and assignment. Quizzes from readings, essays on tests. Not proctored. Extra credit available. Easy A if you follow the rules and deadlines.
Not the easiest class in the world, very lecture heavy and a lot of reading, but if you plan accordingly and dont put off assignments it'll be fine. Assignments are very engaging and simple but if you're confused she also thoroughly explains instructions which is great. She is clearly very passionate about what she teaches.
She is very lecture heavy but a fair grader and great lectures. Her classes are clear and understandable and assignments are easy.
This class was easy and well structured that all I have to say TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!
Professor Kauffman is an excellent instructor. She provides clear responses, explains where assignments are located, and offers examples to illustrate what the final submission should look like.
Every assignment was manageable if you planned accordingly. Your overall grade is based on the number of points you earn (990+ points was an A for us). She offers extra credit assignments worth 20 points each. The major assignment was a historical debate essay that she prepared you for a few weeks in advance. Textbook is very important!
She was very easy to take. She is AI friendly and does not use Honorlock when taking quizzes or exams. Assignments were all due once a week on Thursday. If you do the work she will most likely give you an A on your assignments.
