Lesley seems nice but she can't teach. She just reads off her PowerPoint slides which makes going to class less than helpful. The quizzes are nothing like the questions we do in the textbook which makes the midterm look even scarier. Also, this course is 100% test based. No assignments to help you learn properly. I hope she changes this.

The problems assigned in the textbook, used in tutorials and lectures are way easier than what was seen on the midterm. The midterm was full of multistep problems, difficult to complete in the given time. For a 317 class where you have students with a variety of majors, please chill. Not everyone wants to be a financial analysts.

Lesley's videos were not very good. She barely goes over concepts. Her midterms and exams were tough. They did not resemble the practice problems we got in class. The midterm was written and there was not enough time to complete it. Avoid her if you can.

The first half of the course is really tough, but Lesley laid out exactly what was expected. The amount of examples and work you put in directly impacts your grade for her part of the course.

As far as online teaching goes Lesley's videos are great. To the point, show all the windows at one time and don't waste your time. Exams are doable in the time if you listen to what she's looking for and know what you're doing with practice problems.

I found Lesley to be decent in teaching FNCE 317. She did provide a lot of useful and helpful examples in her lectures. She also provided a quiz review and midterm review which I found to be extremely helpful. If you want to do well, you need to do all the assigned questions in the textbook. I found her to lack a bit in communicating with students

No idea why people are hating on Tims this hard, I found the course to be very easy the way that she taught it, and I was really scared because I had heard lots about this class. Do your work, watch the videos, and you'll get good grades! The class isn't as hard as it's made out to be, you just need to put in the time because you cant cram for it.

Professor Tims was an epic finance prof. The course is super hard and mandatory for all us business students to takebut she made the class bearable. Shes very fair and if you put the work in, youll do well. Which is the point of university no?? Definitely not a course you can slack in, but Tims makes it as good as it can be.

Lesley is a great professor, don't be fooled by her low score I have been at the university for 2 years now and can say she is the best professor I have had. The class material itself is difficult but as long as you do your practice questions can get a good mark. Make sure to ask her questions as that is the best way to truly get an understanding.

Lesley is a great finance prof. She is always available and willing to help, and she receives bad ratings due to the sheer amount of material that she needs to work through. It is nearly impossible for her to go slower during classes, so you need to read the textbook before class - her job is not easy. Overall, very caring and genuine prof!

Tims is a really good professor. Most people complain because of the work load. But if you review the materials before class its easy. She also posted online lectures to help students out. It was an easy course and the first quizzes really help you gauge how much you need to study. As long as you understand how the formulas work youre good.

Taking FNCE317 with Tims is a mistake. She literally just reads the slides verbatim and never adds any further explanation. Doesn't help that her slides are confusingly worded too. She also assigned case studies with no instructions. Literally just gave us the link to the case study and said "write about it". Tests weren't too bad at least.

The worst class I've ever taken, mainly because of the cases. Not only do you have to pay for them, but you are given NO instruction on how to do them. You're also not allowed to ask TAs to review your case beforehand. If anything, the cases left me even more confused even though I was keeping on top of lectures and chapter questions.

Bruh, 2 huge assignments, and not very clear instructions. all the courses I took in the past had guidelines and questions that we had to answer. I didn't know what to do, and everyone I spoke with also had no clue what to includeintheassignment. She handed us a huge case, and told us to analyze it. THaT's it, like what do you want us to analyze?

Lesley is a great prof that gets ragged on purely because of the difficulty of the class. I got to know her and she truly cares about her students, if you are willing to put in the work. People need to realize that FNCE 317 is not an easy course and it is content-heavy. Put in the work and ask questions and she is more then willing to help

Professor Tims is very approachable, FNCE317, in general, is a hard course but I found that the class as a whole is extremely vague. Both cases had to be purchased, there was no rubric given at all for the cases, we were not able to review our case studies or midterms to see what we did wrong, and the TAs couldn't even tell us where we lost marks.

I know that FNCE is hard by itself already but I feel like she makes it harder. For example the cases has no rubric on how it is graded and you can't get any feedback after. Also the TAs are pretty much just there to do the tutorial and they can't answer anything about the case. Doing quizzes before the midterm for practice might be helpful.

Absolutely terrible, all she does is read off of the slides word for word & barely covers additional problems that students might see on exams such as the midterm or final. Makes the online exams incredibly difficult, assuming that all the students are finance majors. Assigns Harvard grade case studies with NO clear instructions.
