She is an intellegent teacher, really funny, and definately knows what she is talking about. There isnt any HW for this class but its essential you read the text and reader.

She is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She makes the class so much fun. She really knows how to get everyone involved and interested in the topics. It is obvious that she has a real passion for what she is teaching about...that is sadly rare to find these days!

She teaches the material very well and knows a ton about the subject. The class is very interesting and fun. But the Final Exam man be prepared to study a whole whole lot or else you'll flunk the test. She gives you Test Reviews for each of the tests including the final.

Everyone if you take this class be prepared to read the readers and the textbook. I suffered for not having the textbook which I was unable to afford. She really gives you pop quizzes and sometimes you are unsure of when you might have them. I will tell everyone though she does not grade on a curve.

Mrs. Asfour is a good teacher she is down to earth and knows how to run a good kind of tough class but also keeps it fun...plus shes hot.

Fairly easy class. So long as you take notes, read the text (each chapter is like, 15 pages with pictures), and the reader; you should do fine. She almost never announces quizzes though, so be prepared.

Very knowledgable about the fashion industry, which allows for a lot of personal input and real-life situations

she is good, but she is a sloppy teacher i ever had. she never go over ur grade at the end semester, she always made mistakes in grade process, sloppy on work book, and she gave a bunch of notes to study for tests, but half of them is not on the test. She never have a good repare.

i took fcs 43 which was origins of fashion. this class is very easy as long as you read the text book, the pink, and the yellow guide. she'll give you very easy quizzes. test you can't cram for by the way. she makes this class easy as possible. its very interesting and you can learn a lot from her.

She knows what she's talking about and no way you will be bored. I enjoyed her class very much.. Just study!! She will make it as easy as possible for you to learn. You just have to put your part into it. READ BEFORE HAND BEFORE ENTERING IN CLASS. POP QUIZZES!!

She's a great teacher, knows the subject inside and out. Be prepared on the final and study it ALL! She drastically over-estimates how much the typical student studies in that regard. The final is mainly essay so WATCH OUT!!

What is everyone on her talking about Leslie Asfour is an Amazing instructor, for those who didn't get good grades to bad you probably deserved them. This instructor is one of the best I've ever had &this class has been my favorite class. People on here who have slandered her should be back in high school - obviously they can't handle college. She makes her grading very clear and lets you know her expectations on day 1! It's easy to pass her class if you go every day, read before class & study!

This instructor knows so much about fashion and about how to teach to students and get them interested. I think the people on here who didn't like her, expected her class to be like high school. She really encourages sharing and discussion and approaches the class as though you were in the industry. She is not elitist in any way!

Quite Honestly this teacher is awesome. She is easy to get along and helps you when ever you need it. I have taken her for like 2 or 3 classes and i would like to have another class with her in the future.

Read some of the postings here and can only say that there is so much immaturity on this campus, maybe on many others, as well. I have had this instructor for other classes and have never had an instructor care so much about her students and even go out of her way to help them with their education, resumes, portfolios, and ultimate job placement.

she really knows her stuff, and the class can be very interesting. yes she can be extremely rude but i have never seen her be rude without a good reason. as long as you act like an adult and dont talk during class she wont get mad at you.

I read some of the negative comments on this site about this professor & all I can say is that those students just weren't serious about their education. She is probably the best teacher & one who cares the most of any teacher I've ever had. She makes her classes interesting, but she is hard because she cares & wants you to learn & I learned so muc

I did not attend Ms. Asfour's class but I did attend a Fashion Tour of NYC with her and some of her students. I must say I learned more from Leslie on that week long trip than I did the whole time I attended FIDM. She has more information to give than anyone in the industry. The people and students of Stockton,CA are lucky to have her!

Ms. Asfour is a cool teacher and she makes learning about fashion fun.She teaches well. When I first took her for Fash08, I just it would be a regular class. but she made it so fun and interesting about how fashion started and how it's like now.

Leslie is one of the best instructors I've ever had! Very knowledgable, helpful, and knows a lot about the industry. She cares about the work you do and is very motivating. If you can't take her material or honesty you don't belong in the industry. Can't get away with any bs. Do your work, put it effort and you'll do great.

Leslie is an amazing teacher. She's so helpful and makes the class interesting. People may not like her because she's "rude or harsh" but that's part of the industry. Leslie is actually very kind. Delta and it's students are very blessed to have her as a teacher.

Leslie is literally the backbone & rock of the fashion program at Delta. She knows more & has had more industry experience than any other instructor! She teaches from real life & gives students so much more than any other classes in the program! If you want to go into fashion, you need to take ALL of her classes! She is onnected to the industry.

Hands down, THE BEST PROFESSOR I've ever had. Her class was more interesting than I could have imagined, she made it so interesting and fun. She's not easy. but if you do the work, it is. Ms. Asfour truly cares about her students. She helped me with my schedule, GE and degree requirements, more than my counselors ever did. She is by far the best!!!

I agree. Ms. Asfour is an awesome instructor and totally unexpected how cool and intelligent she is, considering the other instructors at Delta. She is worldly smart and embeds in her "fashion" class so much relative info on culture, world politics, sociology, economics and so much beyond fashion, but all that helps students understand the world!

It has been 14 years since I had Mrs. Asfour as an instructor and when I saw a pic of her now and she hasn't aged a bit! The program is still going on strong. She is one of the few teachers I remember who was actively involved in what she was teaching and presented the info in a easy, polished manner. Show up to class and you can't go wrong:)

I took this class over the summer for my GE requirement. I didn't know what to expect but I didn't expect to have such an interesting class and knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructor. I have never looked more forward to getting up for an 8 am class over summer as I did this past summer! This is one of the best classes I've ever taken!

Overall fun class. She wasn't on time, except for the final, but she took her time to explain in detail the lesson. Use text pages before class or you won't have a clue what she's talking about. Really funny and knows what she's talking about. Lots of typos but she's willing to answer questions and give relatable examples.

Professor Asfour is a gear professor and knows her stuff. Her lectures are interesting and fun. She's fair and your grade is really up to you. She lays it out in the beginning of the semester. It's clear. Show up, do the work and you'll pass. This was one of my favorite ckasses. I learned a lot and enjoyed the class immensely!

Between 5 and 10 quizzes and three to four tests (including the final). The readers are inexpensive and the topics are really interesting. Read the text before going to class and take notes. Class is pretty easy and very interesting. She's a little intimidating but teaches passionately and in relatable terms. Good class.

Loves to teach, hates when students don't want to learn. You MUST read the chapters. Or at least the highlighted boxes and the key terms and names mentioned in the chapter. If nobody participates during lectures, she will give a pop quiz. Also good to know the history of the time you're learning.

Leslie is an amazing teacher, she really wants her students to understand the material and she makes it as easily digestable as obscure foriegn words and clothes from hundreds of years ago as it can be. Also she deserves more respect than i think she gets. Just read the book and its a fun class, dont read and you will be quizzed and ridiculed.

Asfour made fashion 009 fun and interesting. Although there was a lot of reading, the quizzes weren't hard and the tests were pretty easy as long as you followed her powerpoints and reading.

The class I took was ID 10, but it wasn't on he list here. I LOVED the class. Ms. Asfour really knows interior design and fashion, as I had an opportunity to watch her in both areas. But, for ID 10, she was excellent. She offered feedback all along, throughout our projects so that our final project submission was as good as it could be.

I took her for fashion 008. She was awesome but on the strict side, just show up pay attention to her PowerPoints, and take notes! Shell even say this will be on the test/quiz. Shes makes this class interesting. She kinda intimidating and scary lol but she means well and cares about her students.

Best professor! I came into this class thinking it would be boring and uninteresting, but she really makes you understand fashion! Makes it so easy to learn terms you have never heard before. Just like another person said, make sure you participate in her discussions or she will assign pop quiz. TAKE THIS CLASS!

Leslie is the best professor Ive EVER had. Amazing. Ive learned more in the one semester with her than I have in all of my college experience. This class inspired me to change my major to Fashion! I loved History of Fashion and the way Miss Asfour made it so interesting. She's funny and makes you want to know more! I LOVED THIS CLASS!!!!

Loved this class. The only downside was that we didnt know our grade until the very end of the semester.

Grade depended mostly on 2 big tests, so once you lose points on something its hard to raise your grade. Exams were graded hard & there's 2 projects. Really pay attention to lectures and read through the chapters in textbook. You really got to put in time to learning the material for this class.

One of the most hardworking professionals at Delta College. She inspires and encourages her students and still manages to keep it real. Was a great help especially during the National Pandemic of 2020.

Leslie is a great teacher that truly cares for the success of her students. If you show her you care about the classes, she will do whatever she can to help you succeed if you need help. Her classes require you to participate and read the material in order to pass, & the discussions help. All in all, i love every class that i have taken with her!

Professor Asfour is the BEST! If you come with an open mind, she will teach you things that will inspire you. Her class is fun because she mixes things up by showing important visuals like videos and photos. She gives you chances to improve your grade by extra credit. This class is very easy if you have the book. This class is based on quizzes and exams only. There is a total of 5 quizzes and 3 exams that consist of 3 chapters in each exam. I think it is important to save your questions and answers for the quizzes because they will appear on the exams. On finals week she offers extra credit that is 50 points.

I love this class. It has inspired me to major in Interior Design and take more classes with Professor Asfour. Her lectures are interesting and she posts great info on Canvas. She allows multiple attempts on quizzes, just have your notes organized. She also allows for extra credit worth 1 exam!!! She's a great instructor!

I liked the subject and how it is relevant today. I think I would have enjoyed it more in person vs. online because it is a lot of reading and trying to retain it is hard. She is very helpful with emergencies and I really appreciated that. Im thankful for the 200 participation points; it boosted my grade. Take notes using the study guide!

Great class! There is a lot of info to know, but the exposure the instructor provides to designers of the 21st century is amazing. There are so many I had never heard of. She adds interesting videos that gives insight into the textbook material. Her Canvas content is interesting. She also lets students take advantage of extra credit!

Relating to fashion she has an understanding of the business itself and this class opened my eyes to the state of the fashion world today . However I will point out that when we have to do film essays they have to be perfect. I didnt sign up for English class so therefore the feedback she gave for essays didnt help me. I still recommend her .

This class is inspiring! I have decided to go into fashion curation or museum studies because if this class. I loved learning about the historical periods and costume and current designers who were inspired by these past periods. The class was inspiring and the instructor was so knowledgeable and lectures so interesting I wanted to learn more!

Great class! I took this class for my GE requirement and was surprised how interesting it was. I thought it would be an easy A, but the instructor tells you in the beginning that it won't, so I was ready to work. She provides narrated pre-recorded lectures, great images, video clips and more to help you through the material and offers extra credit!

So far this class has been really interesting. Professor posts all reading material online so there is no textbooks. Everything is current and really relative. The videos are really interesting. The discussions hold you accountable to the material and push you to learn and expand what you think you know. Be prepared and do the work, youll do fine.

I just finished the spring semester with Professor Asfour fashion course. I believed this course to be very easy to fulfill my GE requirements. This is easily one of my most favorite classes at Delta. She has been very helpful throughout the year! DO NOT expect an easy A unless you actually read for the quizzes and exam. She is amazing! RECOMMENDED

This class is very doable! This class revolves around 5 quizzes and 3 exams. Of course, you will NOT pass this class if you do not read. The reading is nothing difficult and is full of information. There is a 50 pt extra credit that will boost your grade! VERY HELPFUL. The assignments are very easy, JUST READ! Impossible to not pass this class.

class was okay. nothing extreme but not a easy grade. You read and take quizzes. they are easy if you read and pay attention, i recommend taking notes and the class will be easy. I really like this class, i would recommend it to others and retake this course or anything with this teacher

Took the class to start my ID degree. I loved working with 3D software that was made available to us for free to complete a cool design project. The class was fully online with a free textbook, power point lectures, discussions, projects, quizzes and exams. Not a class for lazy students who want an easy A. If youre serious about ID youll love it.

I found this class so interesting. I love history and fashion! The instructor starts with ancient times - really interesting, and takes the class to the 20th c. Grade is based on discussions, quizzes and exams. And, she offers extra credit, which is easy! The class is VERY interesting & manageable, but not an easy A. You'll work for it. I loved it.

This class went by so fast! I had fun with the discussions & listing to the lectures she prepared for the modules. The professor has a sense of humor, & it made this history class exciting and so fun to take! I learned about museums in our area with excellent items for some of the most critical times in fashion history!

Professor Asfour taught me so much about Interior Design in this class. She responded quickly to emails, & was very helpful! She inspired me. This class opened my eyes to the world of Interior Design from a new perspective. When studying fashion, I would look to Interior design for inspiration. I learned how much they have in common in this class!

Professor Asfour is great! She provides a lot of constructive criticism and is there when you need here regardless of the day or time. I've taken 3 classes with her in her interior design classes (my major) and have learned so much. The class is a lot of work, but really prepares you for the real world.

She is an excellent teacher. She works with you and gives great feedback. I've learned so much about Fashion in all of her courses, that I have taken. It is a lot of reading, but it is so worth it. Took FASH 8, then FASH 9, loved both classes. Lectures were interesting. She shows you how designers today are inspired by fashion from the past. She was helpful outside of class with my work schedule, always responded quickly to emails and concerns. We had multiple attempts on quizzes which are pretty easy. she gave extra credit! Great class!

Exams were extremely extensive. The quizzes were somewhat easy and could be taken twice. Being tech-savvy is very helpful in this class. Although this class was very hard, I learned a lot.

Professor Asfour is amazing!!! Her lectures, discussions, and videos are very informative and I learned so much from this course. She made everything easy to understand and she opened my eyes to the fashion industry. I did not know anything about fashion before taking this class, but now, I am completely in love with fashion! So glad I took her!!

Took the Fash 24 class and I can say it was really fun and very inspirational! It was really tough in the first display project, but got easier with the 2nd after knowing what to do. Leslie was really helpful and informative on how visuals and displays are so important to the merchandising industry. Hands-on and a great experience! Thanks Leslie!

I am grateful to have been taught by a processor with experience in the fashion industry. She's not your average professor and I believe she gives valuable and accurate insight on what to expect working in the industry. She also doesn't make students buy unnecessary school supplies and that matters when you are on a budget.

Professor Asfour is great! I took ID2 this semester and it convinced me to take more ID classes. She gave the PDF for the textbook for free. There was weekly test, few exams and three projects. The projects were a lot fun, and she gave me an extension on the final project. It did take almost two months for me to receive one of the projects grade.

I took this class for GE and was surprised how much I learned. I loved the class, liked learning about different cultures, time periods and their fashion. It was fully online, content was in modules (no textbook). Lectures were excellent and helped to outline the material. She gives 2 days to take quizzes and exams. Pay attention to announcements!

Great class. Learned A LOT! this was a 6 week summer class, went by very fast. Text info was good, lectures & videos were interesting, helped understand the text. Exams and quizzes were based on text and lectures and videos, T/F or mc ,one or two short essays. Discussions in the beginning were graded easy with good feedback to improve for the next.

Good class, but you have to stay on top of the work. Summer is condensed so the class went by fast. There is a lot of reading, but if you listen to the lectures they cover a lot, making everything easy to understand. The professor is good, knows her stuff, was willing to help me with some issues I had. Would recommend the class if you like fashion.

I really found the class inspiring. The first part was ok, but then we got into women's rights and fashion and I found it fascinating. I realized the connections between the changes in fashion and those in society. The topics became more interesting. Advice: do the work, pay attention to the class schedule and weekly announcements to stay on track.

I really enjoyed this course and using Chief Architect. Use that software as much as you can with the student license! Leslie has a great way of getting you to think about design, layout and space planning. The course was fun and easy as long as you show up, read the material and complete assignments on time.

This was the first required core course I took for Interior Design. I felt inspired by my instructors enthusiasm and knowledge of the field. I immediately felt like this was where I was suppose to be and what I was meant to do. The course work was easy as long as you do the work and stay on task. 10/10

Took the class to start my degree in Fashion Merch. The class was very interesting. Textbook is good and worth the price, you need it to pass. Lectures and case studies were interesting and updated. Assignments include discussions, quizzes, and exams, are all based on course material. Pay attention to class schedule and weekly announcements.

I had Professor Asfour for all ID classes. If you ask her for help with assignments, she helps a lot and gives pretty good feedback. Sometimes her feedback can be a little harsh, but it helps in the future. I will say the only drawback is that the workload is quite large, but if you stay on top of it and don't procrastinate, you'll do fine.

Chose FASH 8 for GE. Good class. Be sure to log in at the beginning of the week and use the class schedule and weekly announcements, not the to do list. Grade is based on quizzes, discussions and exams. Use the narrated lectures - they help edit info! Most interesting period was Ancient Egypt, but enjoyed learning about all periods of fashion.

This was such an inspirational class that helped me open my eyes! Prof Asfour is so knowledgeable and insightful and pushes us to see beyond what is. The content was easy to learn but challenging to implement in a good way! The class pushed me more than I realized and helped me learn to understand everything that goes into forecasting. great class!

This class gives a lot of info on the fashion biz. But Prof broke it down well into segments that helped to group info into relatable contents. The textbook is a list. The narrated lectures are great and really breakdown the chapter into. Stay on schedule with weekly announcement posted in Monday's. Loved the class. It was challenging but so good.
