This professor is new to the University, but has taught at several other top universities. She's great. She demands that you actually learn, and so you should probably check your motives before enrolling in the class. But, she's really good. Be prepared to actually read, and do the work though. I highly recommend her.

She has a sincere desire to help students succeed, and is available to talk about the class or anything else you want to talk about. She keeps the class fun and interesting. Baynes is an excellent teacher and super nice, it's just too bad that the class is super hard! You are graded on 3 things (weekly essays and two tests) so if you botch up on one thing you're really screwed. Don't be afraid to go to her with concerns though. She is very helpful and loves to hear student's opinions.

Baynes is a good teacher, but she grades hard. Her lectures are enjoyable, and she does enjoy input. When it comes time for papers or finals, you need to work hard to get a good grade. you need to think on a critical basis and not on a purely spiritual basis, and you need to take it farther than just the surface appearance. Overall, good teacher.

This class does require you to do a fair amount of reading and the professor has pretty lengthy lectures but if you are interested in the class itself you shouldn't find this to be a problem. It's very obvious she is knowledgeable about this topic and cares to share her knowledge. She responds outside of class and was overall a great course!

I did not expect to like this class as much as I did, but Professor Baynes made it so enjoyable. She's funny, her lectures were entertaining, and she is so wise. I would definitely take another one of her classes in the future.

Dr. Baynes is a solid instructor who explains difficult concepts and navigates challenging topics well. Her course was interesting and worth taking, but she does expect a lot from her students. She assigns a pretty substantial amount of reading and related course work.

Dr. Baynes is very knowledgeable about her subject and passionate too, however she expects her students to be full-time students of HER class. It's like she forgets we work and have other classes. She was also very condescending and seemed really stuck up and snooty. Took as an elective because it sounded interesting, regret it.

if you're at all sensitive, do NOT raise your hand in her class. i loved her as a professor, would take her class again if i could, but she is very unaware of her tone and the way she speaks to people and can be very belittling on accident when redirecting wrong answers. she is very knowledgeable though and gives great lectures!

I've loved the classes I've taken with Dr. Baynes so far, and I look forward to having her in the future. She can definitely come off as a bit snooty sometimes and toot her own horn, but her lectures are very well structured and never fail to keep me engaged. She assigns a lot of work, but I never found it to be too hard.

I loved having her as a professor and you can tell she knows what she's talking about. Not many assignments, but plenty of extra credit. Beware though, you will be reading A TON. This class is super reading heavy. It can be a bit intimidating to raise your hand in her class because of her tone and responses, though I think it is unintentional.

I would recommend Catholicism: 330 to any student that has taken one of Dr. Bayne's courses before and liked it. 330 is a little easier than some of her other courses because it's not her area of expertise, but she teaches it well and you will walk away with an improved understanding of Catholicism.

Dr. Baynes is so knowledgeable, and I learned so much during my time in this class. The class is very lecture and reading heavy, but on the flip side you only have a couple of assignments throughout the semester and 3 tests. The final isn't cumulative, but each of her tests are 100 questions. She makes sure to keep her personal opinion out.
